Green spaces are great benefit to every city environment as they*:
 filter pollutants
 provide shade and lower temperatures in urban areas
 regulate air quality
 save energy reducing the urban heat island effects
As cities face serious challenges of limited space and high
population density, all the available spaces, like roof tops and
walls, need to be transformed into gardens.

 The increase of the population will drive an increase in waste
volumes. Therefore, the waste problem must be handled and
best world practices adopted
 E.g. in Sweden it is mandatory for households to separate
recyclables from trash, and producers help handle waste
management. More than 99% of all household waste is recycled
in one way or another*

The City of the Future needs to be attactive for living, adaptive to currect
ecological trends and technological advancements
The City of the Future will be forming under the pressure of two trends:
Growth of urban population
Continuous technological advancement
In order to handle rapid changes and meet future citizens’ needs, the City of the Future will
need to have efficient transportation, waste management system, expanded green areas, and
reduced CO2 emission.
