Essay On Cyber Runestone
The Kensington Runestone was discovered almost 120 years ago, but it is believed to be over 650
years old. In 1898, a farmer from the outskirts of Alexandria, MN (Kensington) discovered the
medieval artifact. Olof Öhman was originally from Sweden, and came to America in 1879 to own land
and farm it, since owning land in Sweden was not an option for him. The Kensington Runestone was
unearthed when Olaf Öhman was clearing his land for farming. He came across the stone entangled in
the roots of an Aspen tree. It was a 202 pound stone, so it was no easy task getting it out from under
that tree. There was more than one eye witness when the runestone was being uncovered. When the
stone was discovered, and inscription of it was sent to the University of Minnesota to be translated. It
took over one hundred more years for the copy on the stone to be correctly translated. The copy on the
stone says Eight Got landers and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many researchers came from all around the world to study the stone, and many tried to say that the
stone was a hoax. Öhman and his family had to deal with being in the spotlight and all of the attention
they received was mostly negative. One source claimed that Olaf swore to the truth even on his death
bed. Some researchers were linguists, and they tried to prove the stone a hoax by saying that some of
the inscriptions on the stone didn t exist in the Norse language at the time the stone was supposedly
carved (1362), implying that Olaf Öhman carved the stone himself. This accusation has since been
proven wrong, as there were artifacts found in Europe that are similar. In the beginning of the twenty
first century, it was scientifically proven that Olaf did not carve the stone himself. A geologist
determined this by performing a test on the deterioration of the stone. Olaf and his family got ridiculed
and mocked by the public, and by researchers who wanted the glory of proving it a

Pierre Elliott Trudeau Bilingualism
Firstly, Pierre Elliott Trudeau was a significant prime minister in the view of the fact that
he strengthened the Canadian nation by improving the role of Québec in Canada. Trudeau
demonstrated this fact when he promulgated the Official Languages Act in 1969, which
guaranteed official bilingualism in Canadian service where English government workers had to
learn to speak and understand French. By imposing this act, he wished to preserve and improve the
role that the French language had in Canada. His policy of bilingualism was significant
because keeping a country united was a way to help its advancement. Trudeau played an
important role when he rejected the Québec s separatist movement by using specific terms such

Essay On Elbow Dislocation
After the diagnosis from the orthopedic doctor of a posterior elbow dislocation, the athlete was
instructed to wear a mobilization brace locked out at thirty degrees until his next follow up
appointment. During this time, gentle range of motion activities began involving the wrist and the
elbow in both flexion and extension. The athlete also worked on grip strength with putty, increasing
the time and intensity as needed. In addition to these activities, isometric elbow contractions added to
the intensity of the rehabilitation. After the rehabilitation sessions finished, the athlete iced the injured
area.
The athlete began to heat the injured area before beginning his exercise to help promote increasing
range of motion. Both active and passive stretching of the elbow and wrist assists the athlete in
increasing range of motion as well. The athletic trainers added hammer pronation/supination exercises

protection in case he fell. The use of the upper body ergometer was added to help increase range of

Wall pushups were then added to the athlete s rehabilitation program.
Next, the athletic training staff added elbow curls and extension to the athlete s rehabilitation program.
Also, the athlete began upper body proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises in both the D1
and D2 patterns to work on entire arm strength in flexion and extension.
Once the athlete mastered the wall pushups, the intensity increased to table pushups and then to chair
pushups. The athlete began to feel confidence in himself in activities of daily living and did not feel as

Jewish Perspective On The Ten Commandments In The Bible
The Jewish perspective on the Ten Commandments originated from Moses making an agreement with
God. It is believed that God himself transmitted the Ten Commandments to Moses on two stone
tablets. Moses later spread the word of God. The Ten Commandments are a part of the Hebrew Bible,
The Torah. The Ten Commandments is also known as The Decalogue. The Ten Commandments are
only a small portion of the Torah but according to Lesley, They are the most important part (pg nbr).
The Ten Commandments are listed twice in the Torah. They can be found in both The Book of Exodus
and The Book of Deuteronomy. In the Torah, the Ten Commandments are organized by the first five
commandments are related to God and the second five are related to other human beings. ... Show

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous god. I punish

Aesir Gods
Njord (pronounced NYORD; Old Norse Njörðr, whose meaning/etymology is unknown) is one of the
principal gods of the Vanir tribe of deities. He s also an honorary member of the Aesir gods, having
been sent to them during the Aesir Vanir War along with his son, Freyr, and his daughter, Freya. Freyr
and Freya s mother is Njord s unnamed sister, who, based on linguistic evidence, is probably Nerthus.
Njord was particularly associated with wealth, fertility, the sea, and seafaring in historical Germanic
religion.[1][2] A saying among the Norse peoples held especially wealthy people to be as rich as
Njord.
The tale in which Njord features most prominently is The Marriage of Njord and Skadi . Skadi, a

Science Fair Project About Coke And Mentos Reaction
This paper is a Science Fair Project about Coke and Mentos Reaction. This essay is not going to tell
you about the experiment but rather background information on the subject. The background
information is about Mentos reacting in Coke.
A rougher candy surface such as, Mentos, means there are more places for bubbles to grow, or more
nucleation sites. (brilliant.org) Surfactants are compounds that lower the surface tension between two
liquids. (brilliant.org) Dropping Mentos in Coke is an example of a surfactant. The eruptions happen
due to nucleation where the Carbon Dioxide in the soda is drawn to the Mentos. (eepybird.com) The
pressure of the bottle is trapping the CO2 inside. The CO2 in the soda reacts to the sugar on the

Bilateral Hip Flexion Report
Hip ROM
Bilateral hip flexion, internal rotation and external rotation ROM was measured using goniometric
methods as defined by Norkin and White.24 Bilateral hip internal and external rotation were
goniometrically measured in sitting (Figure 3 4), while hip flexion was measured with the patient in
supine (Figure 5).
Manual Muscle Testing Bilateral LE muscle strength was determined using the manual muscle test
(MMT) break test. In sitting, the patient was requested to perform bilateral hip flexion, internal and
external rotation, knee flexion and extension, and ankle dorsiflexion against graded manual resistance
applied by the examiner.27 To assess bilateral planterflexion, the patient was asked to stand on one leg

Ivory Poaching Research Paper
Ivory Poaching: Are Elephants Becoming Extinct? Poaching for the ivory tusks from elephants has
become a more prominent idea within the past twenty years. Elephants are killed for their tusks made
of ivory. These are typically used for jewelry, ornamental carvings, and art objects. (Perlez, 1989,
n.p.). The elephant population has slowly dwindled down throughout the years because of the
poaching for ivory and it has caused elephants in some countries to become extinct.
The poaching of elephants for their tusks has driven the animal in some countries such as Sierra Leone
and Senegal to the point of extinction. More than 30,000 elephants were slaughtered in Africa last year
alone, 382 of them in Kenya. (Stewart, 2013n n.p.).

Poachers have the biggest risk involved in this, due to them actually having to kill the elephant. They
can earn $50 $100 per kilogram. The higher up the chain that the ivory moves, the more the price
raises and the poacher will make more money. By the time that the ivory reaches its highest level, it
can earn up to $3,000 per kilogram. (Stewart, 2013, n.p.). The risks of killing elephants for their ivory
tusks might be a risky job, but many poachers believe that it is worth the effort. One poacher was
interviewed and he revealed that his motivation behind poaching elephants was because he was
jobless. He said I was jobless. Our family had nothing. A friend lured me into it. He said if we killed
an elephant, we could sell its tusks. I did that and got money. So I decided that would be my full time
job. (Mutiga, 2014, n.p.). Although the benefits of poaching an elephant for their ivory tusks might
seem high, they are not. These poachers are endangering the elephant population and could eventually
cause them to become completely

Analysis Of The Play A Midsummer Night Dream

characters were basically singing their messages across, and it works. In my opinion, they spoke in a
sort of high pitched voice. They spoke with very high confidence, and I haven t really noticed a flaw
or mess up during the play. No actors in the play really stuttered, and it seem like they spoke/sang
their lines perfectly. This is the third section where I m going to discuss the director and the
performers. In my opinion, all the performers did great from the main casts to the extras to the
background people playing music. I felt like Gabrielle Rochblatt, the person that played Roxie Hart
did a great job with singing and acting. There is a reason why Gabrielle was given the task to play
Roxie Hart which is the main character and basically had the most line out of any characters. Gabrielle
had this charisma when she say her lines or sing. Her character, Roxie Hart will do something that can
make her seem like a villain, but for some reason, it s hard to dislike her. Yes, it can be because she is
also a protagonist character, but I feel part of it has to do with Gabrielle charismatic performance on
stage. Her looks also fit her role as well. The producers were very smart when choosing her for this
role. Gabrielle had the total package. A lot of times, many people are capable of acting, but it

Student Debt Crisis And The Housing Crisis
There is a critical financial trend in the United States: student debt is at an all time high. For the first
time in mid 2013, student debt rose to 830 billion, surpassing the credit card debt (Clemmitt). Many
economists and scholars compare the student debt crisis to the housing bubble, which resulted in a
nationwide recession 2008. In a senate hearing regarding the current student debt crisis, Illinois
Attorney General Lisa Madigan said, The warning signs are there, just like they were before the
housing crisis, and congress needs to act before it is too late (Bidwell). After graduation, many
students find it difficult to repay their debt, due to the bleak job market. According to a report
published on the financial website Smart money, ten percent student loans borrowers defaulted in
2010 (Clemmitt). The percent was larger for students that attended a for profit educational institution,
like a career college; fifteen percent of these students defaulted (Clemmitt). Although the default rates
do not contribute to the increasing student debt, one can compare it to the mortgage crisis when people
stopped paying their mortgages and the American economy crashed. This exemplifies the critical
problem that the student debt bubble if burst; it can have devastating impacts on the vulnerable
American economy. Three causes for the increase in student debt are due to recent trends in college
attendance, the increase of for profit colleges and the rise of tuition due to spending

Reaching Mastery Should Be An Important Part Of Most...
Reaching mastery should be an important part of most people s lives. There are things to consider
when trying to achieve and master something important. Daniel Pink wrote the book Imagine talking
about what really motivates us. I would like to focus mainly on chapter five out of the book, Mastery.
The main points in this chapter Pink covers are engagement, flow and the three laws of mastery.
In order to make progress there needs to be meaningful feedback, this is known as autonomy. The
desire to be self directed and a lead to engagement, Only engagement can produce mastery (Pink 109).
The point Daniel Pink is trying to make is that in order for success and mastery, there absolutely needs
to be engagement. Humans have developed a way of doing things in which they feel programed to do
tasks in routine. In order for individuals to solve difficult tasks and problems, it is important for them
to be willing to experiment different ways of doing things. This is where engagement comes in
because it is important and essential for people to come up with new solutions and it is the key to
mastery. The amount of disengagement in work places has been costing about 300 billion dollars a
year just in the United States. Pink also believes that in order to live a satisfying life we need to meet
more than just simple demands, We have way too much compliance and way too little engagement
(Pink 110). Jonah Lehrer gives us a preview of how the Pixar studio engages with their work, in his

The Bilateral Relations Between Malaysia And China
Malaysia is recognized as one of the Southeast Asia countries that have undergone economic
prosperity. Therefore in this essay, I will argue on two major factors that have promoted the economic
development in Malaysia which are the bilateral trade relations with China and the regional stability in
Southeast Asia. In the first section of this essay, I will provide a brief overview of Malaysia s
economic development trajectory in the early post independence period. Next, in the first part of the
second section, I will highlight on the bilateral trade relations between Malaysia and China as the
main factor for Malaysia s economic expansion. Following the second part, I will emphasize on the
importance of regional stability in Southeast Asia in facilitating Malaysia s economic growth. Lastly,
in the third section, I will provide the conclusion of this essay.
Compared to other Southeast Asia countries, Malaysia had begun its self government at a good pace
with the economic sector as its focus. In the first decade of post independence period, the government
had implemented the Import Substitution Industrialization (ISI) strategy to stimulate the economic
growth and socio economic modernization. It encouraged states to become less dependent on
developed state while urging them to focus on domestic production to substitute the previously
imported manufacturing goods (Dadzie 2013: 138). The implementation of this strategy had
strengthened the country s industry and triggered the

Description Of An Electrocardiogram, Or Ecg Or Ekg
Introduction
An Electrocardiogram, or ECG or EKG, is a recording of the hearts electrical activity as a graph over
a period of time, as detected by electrodes attached to the outer surface of the skin and recorded by a
device external of the body (Boundless). The graph of an ECG can identify various things initiated by
the heart, such as its rate, rhythm, a decrease in blood flow, and a possible enlargement. For a healthy
individual, a typical ECG shows the whole cardiac cycle or heart beat which includes a P wave (Atrial
depolarization), a QRS complex (Ventricular depolarization), and a T wave (Ventricular
repolarization). The ECG s first spike or P wave is triggered by the Sinoatrial node (SA node), which
is also known as the pacemaker and the electrical impulse from the atria to the ventricles is conducted
by the atrioventricular node (AV node). During each heart beat the heart muscle depolarizes, this is
detected on the skin where the ECG electrodes are placed by the machine and then translated into a
linear representation (Boundless). The resting membrane potential of a heart cell is 60mv, when an
influx of positive ions enter the cell (NA+ and CA++) depolarization takes place causing the heart to
contract. This action takes place during the peak of the P wave (Atria systole). The QRS complex
represent when the left and right ventricles contract and depolarize, also called ventricular systole.
This action normally takes place at the highest amplitude in the complex,

But would if he wasn`t in the right mind because of his disease? Even if that was the case, as long as

Within that hour we can also use a timer so that we don t lose track of time. Also the time that we had
to measure was on a Monday and Wednesday, for the next observation I would add in a Tuesday or

theme from this observation was gender, age and race majority that ordered at Chic Fil A. The
majority of the students who ordered here make up the 72% population who are white at CMU,
therefore it was not a surprise that they were the majority of the clients (College Factual, 2013). But
there are about 8% more females on campus, but males ordered more than females (College Factual,

A Lecture On International Sustainable Tourism
Triple Bottom Line
During a lecture in International Sustainable Tourism, we discussed the Triple Bottom Line or Triple
Bottom Line Reporting, which means expanding the traditional reporting framework to take into
account environmental and social performance in addition to financial performance. This framework
is becoming an accepted approach for organizations to demonstrate they have strategies for
Sustainable Growth. It focuses on decision making and reporting, which explicitly considers an
organization s economic, environmental and social performance. Triple Bottom Line focuses on
Stakeholders instead of Shareholders. A Stakeholder is a person, group, or organization who has an
interest or concern in an organization. In this essay, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that there is technically a Social Environmental pillar which relates to Environmental
Justice, Natural Resources Stewardship, and Acting Locally, Thinking Globally; A Environmental
Economic pillar which highlights Energy Efficiency, Subsidies, and Incentives for use of Natural
Resources, and finally an Economic Social pillar which deals with Business Ethics, Fair Trade and
Workers Rights. Right smack dab in the middle of the circle graph is Sustainability. When all three
pillars are in play, Sustainability happens.
Moving on, there are three set goal principals for the Triple Bottom Line and they all three relate back
to the three pillars. The goal for the Social pillar is to have Vibrant Communities, where an
organization has a responsibility to its employees and to the wider community in which it works. The
company understands how its practice affects the workers and strives to promote their best interests.
The goal for the Environmental pillar is a Healthy Environment by reducing the environmental
footprint. Finally, the goal for the Economic pillar is Profit. The Triple Bottom line recognizes that
business sustainability rests on social and environmental settings. The cost of pollution, worker
displaces, and other factors and is included into a profit calculation.
When it comes to the mechanics of the Triple Bottom Line, there is no universal standard to calculate

Free Will In Sophocles Antigone
Antigone by Sophocles follows an adamant, strong willed woman attempting to defend her ideal
towards death by providing her brother and a traitor to the state, Polynices, a proper burial against the
positive law asserted by the King. In the play, Ismene, Antigone s sister, best exemplifies the suffering
engendered by authoritarian repression and over dependency on the role of fate versus the role of free
will. The ramifications pertaining to the characters subdued and powerless individuality presents a
modern day parallel to the compulsion Syrian civilians are facing under the tyrannical rule of Bashar

applicable to a modern day context upon considering the political scenario and civil unrest in Syria.
Bashar al Assad, the Syrian President, is the equivalent to Sophocles Creon in the sense that they share
ultimate power and authority over their people. The prideful exercising of available dominance over
civilians forms another bridge between al Assad and Creon, which enables us to create parallels
between those facing and accepting the repression. Al Assad s regime has been in power for the last
three election terms. The reason for this is not his political competency but rather his dictating
presence which has terrorized a majority of innocent citizens. Fifteen children in the southern Syrian
city of Daraa had their nails removed by torture as they scribbled anti Assad words on their school
walls. His regime has continued to kill hundreds of protestors who stood up for the students and has
left many more scarred with fear and threat. Similar to Ismene s dialogue and situation during the
prologue, innocent Syrians feel forced [Ismene, 78] and, despite living in a so called democracy, have
no choice [Ismene, 78] but to

Pros And Cons Of The NBA
The NBA has had its fair share of young superstars like Dwight Howard, LeBron James, and Amar e
Stoudemire, but it s had an even larger number of busts such as Anthony Bennett, Jahlil Okafor, and
Greg Oden. Players who never quite flourished into the players their clubs wanted. There is an easy
solution to this problem, an age limit. Extending the age limit from one and done to 20 or 21, would
be very beneficial for the players, the teams, and both the NCAA and NBA.
First of all, the NCAA would make much more money. The stars would stay in the NCAA a little bit
longer. So teams like KU and Kentucky can ride out big names like Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant.
It will also benefit smaller teams. For example, say a smaller school like Eastern Kentucky or Dayton,
gets a big name or a superstar that draws a big crowd, that school will make more and more money off
those large crowds. Additionally, that player would draw attention from other superstars and even out
the playing field, in a way. If that happens, teams like Dayton being close in talent to teams like
Kansas, the NCAA would have very heated competition all year long, which would get the NCAA
even more money off of fans buying gear and watching games at home. Also, the NCAA will be more
star heavy, drawing attention from crowds everywhere, further expanding basketball s reach
Next, the NBA will also be satisfied with the numbers showing in the bank. The stars that have an age
limit will be more mature, more fundamentally

The Famine Of The Great Plains
In the 1930 s one of the most devastating environmental catastrophes occurred in the United States. It
was called the Dust Bowl . This decade long drought, of the Great Plains, was caused by inappropriate
and poor farming practices. Not only was there a drought; there was also a severe economic
depression that was occurring as well. This combination of economic failure and the drought led to a
desolate land, lost lives, misplaced workers, and lose of crops and livestock. The time in history is
known as one of the worst man made disasters ever. The lessons learned from these mistakes should
be just as important today as it was in the 1930 s. For example, the expectancy of food production will

Even though there were only a small percentage of farmers exposed to these luxuries the Sooner State
was still a horse and wagon and dirt road farming state. (Fite)
By the late 1920 s there was a severe drop in farm prices that severely affected all American
agriculture. Oklahoma farmers were among those hardest hit. The prices for cotton, wheat, and
livestock, the main source of agricultural income, drastically dropped. This caused a cost price
squeeze for farmers because the products that farmers had to buy remained the same. These conditions
intensified among Oklahoma farmers who believed that the large corporate and financial institutions
had become their oppressors. However hard the economic struggle was for farmers in the agricultural
depression of the 1920 s, the onset of the Great Depression in 1929 and 1930 created even worse
conditions. The farm commodity prices had dropped to disastrous levels by 1931 and 1932. Cotton
had fell to five cents a pound and wheat brought as little as thirty cents a bushel. Other livestock and
crops dropped as well; peanuts declined to as low as $1.60 for one hundred pounds, or about one and
one half cents a pound. The gross income of all Oklahoma farm production, both crops and livestock,
dropped from $314 million in 1929 to $115 million in 1932. Farmers during this time had lowered

Reynold s Number
Therefore if two spheres have the same Reynold s number, they should both have the same
aerodynamic characteristics even if the spheres are of different sizes and/or are flying at different
speeds. The boundary layer is a thin layer of air which lies closely to the surface of the body in
motion, and within this layer the adverse pressure gradient is crated which causes the separation of
flow. When the Reynolds numbers are low, the boundary is smooth and called laminar. Laminar
boundary layers usually reduce drag on most shapes, however due to their fragile nature they separate
from the surface of an object very easily when they encounter an adverse pressure gradient, and this
separated flow causes the drag to remain so high below the critical ... Show more content on

flow meaning it remains attached to the surface of the sphere, allowing the Magnus effect to occur
meaning the ball has a long hang time in the air, forming the parabola ball flight model. As separation
is delayed until a much later point, the wake is narrower. This reduces the low pressure region on the
rear face and reduce the difference in pressure, resulting in a smaller drag force like above the

Taking a Look at Mangroves
1.0 Introduction A mangrove is a tree, shrub, palm or ground fern, generally exceeding one and a half
metres in height, which normally grows above mean sea level in the intertidal zone of marine coastal
environments and estuarine margins. A mangrove is also the tidal habitat comprising such trees and
shrubs (Mangroves defined, n.d.). To survive in an intertidal environment, they must be able to
tolerate a broad range of salinity, temperatures and moisture levels. In an environment with such low
oxygen levels, different species of mangroves use different adaptations in an effort to get as much
oxygen as possible.
Different species of mangroves gather oxygen in different ways, some use roots that protrude from the
ground called peg roots, these peg roots, which are covered in lenticels, can reach up to 30cm in
height and allow the plant to exchange gas, as an extension of the roots, which run through the ground,
this allows the plant to absorb nutrients from the soil as well, which is a common adaptation in all
species of mangroves. Other species are raised from the ground on stilt roots that gather oxygen in the
upper reaches of the roots, and then descend into the ground. Slit roots are similar to knee root, except
knee root first grow into the ground and then breach the surface to collect oxygen (Marine Education
Society of Australiasia , n.d.). Mangrove roots types (Marine Education Society of Australiasia , n.d.)

Millions of researches are being carried out across the world. Hence the scope is very limited for a
person/organization to follow all the studies going on. Even if you track a study, it becomes a real
problem to analyze data that is being updated continuously on that trial. Apart from this problem, there
are many other obstacles like inaccurate results in search of a particular medical problem and even if
you do find accurate results, it becomes hard to put all information at one place retrieved from various
sources. In order to overcome the above problems, we are developing a one stop clinical trials user
friendly application that addresses all the related problems. In addition, we plan on providing a
platform for business users to analyze the stocks of the companies that are conducting the clinical
trials. Business users can benefit by making use of these analyses to make right choice before
investing on a stock. When a company starts the research on any disease, its stock prices see a change
relative to this research. If the research seems useful and helpful for the society, it grabs the attention

How Did Albert Einstein Change The World
Albert Einstein
Have you ever heard the bowling ball and trampoline analogy, if you roll a bowling ball onto a
trampoline it will roll into the middle. Then if you were to roll some billiard balls behind it they would
curve in towards the bowling ball. Albert Einstein is important because of all the changes he has made
to the world of science and the military, with the Theory of Relativity, the E=Mc2, and the atomic
bomb. In 1915 Einstein had first proposed the Theory of Relativity, in 1905 is when the E=Mc2
equation was created, and on July 16, 1945 the atomic bomb had been invented. All of these things
were factors in how Einstein changed the world. There are so many ways people can change the world
such as helping the environment and donating to charity, but the way Albert Einstein changed the
world through science. He saw and thought of what others couldn t even fathom. At the age of 16
Albert Einstein was the first to give it some serious consideration to why this might be the case, in the

Ancient Egypt History
Egyptian History Egypt is a county whose history dates back to at least 2600 BCE. With that long of a
timeline, it is easy to understand how diverse and interesting their history is. The main part of Egypt s
history has been divided into three main sections, the Old kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the
New Kingdom. Each kingdom has it s own stories to tell that make it completely different from the
last. From the culture to the pharaohs that were ruling and even the innovations that they were able to
achieve, each kingdom was able to flourish in it s own way. The Old Kingdom of Egypt is believed to
have started around 2686 BCE and have lasted to around 2180 BCE (Duiker). The capital of the Old
Kingdom is believed to have been in Memphis. During this time, according to stories passed down

The Middle Kingdom is believed to have started around 2055 BCE and ended around 1650 BCE
(Duiker) when Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II was able to reunited Upper and Lower Egypt

reasons (Duiker). The Middle Kingdom showed an age of transformation with the capital being moved
to Thebes (Metropolitan). Art was also transformed during this time. They were able to produce
sculptures and monuments out of large stones (Giotto). These would be dedicated to the god like
figures and the pharaohs. Another advancement was that of writing. Writing had already began toward
the end of the Old Kingdom for records, but now it was used to record and tell the stories that were
normally passed down through generations orally. The Egyptians also learned how to use the Nile
River to their advantage. They were able to use its flooding to help provide the soil with nutrients and
they also developed irrigation techniques to help increase their agriculture output

American English Vs. British English
Possible intro in part There no questioning the diversity of language both in the number of languages
and within each language its self. These varieties, brought on by differences in culture, class, region
and ethnics play a vital role to humanity. It is important for language to change and adapt because of
the Identity it provides culturally, regionally, and ethnically, the efficiency it provides in translations
and usage, and the new concepts it must cover. One of the main benefits of changes in a language is
the Identity provided by those changes. For example in history one large change in history established
a crucial identity, that of the American English vs British English. Due to the introduction of new
fauna and physical features, along with required interactions between those of different languages and
dialects including Spanish, German, Irish and Ameridian, the English language began to change (). It
was during the colonies vie for independence that the sense of Identity provided by subtle differences
in the language became important (). Noah Webster, a schoolmaster, acknowledged this when Webster
established the Federal English as he called it. In his reasoning s a new nation needed a new language
(Companion). The change in language helped distinguish America from a mere colony of Britain
while maintaining a connection to its roots.
While in the last case, language provided Identity between the Mother Nation and its child, it can also
provide Identity

Benefits Of Investing A Mutual Fund
!!!What Are Mutual Funds?
Before we go over when to buy and sell a mutual fund, let s discuss exactly what a mutual fund is. A
__mutual fund__ is simply a pool of money from different people like you; it is professionally
managed with the purpose of investing in different securities. The business or bank that manages a
mutual fund and attempt to produce income for investors is referred to as a __money manager__.
Since mutual funds are professionally managed, they are ideal for a person who has very little
knowledge of investing.
There are several advantages of investing in a mutual fund. The biggest advantage is the
diversification it offers. One mutual fund might invest in stocks of large companies and others may
invest in U.S. Treasury bills. Whatever the mutual fund offered by the bank is investing in, each
investor in the fund shares in the fund s gains or losses. It is important to remember that mutual funds
are not stocks, they are portfolios of things like stocks and bonds.
!!!Choosing A Mutual Fund
In business or even in life, the quality of management plays a direct role on the success of the venture.
The quality of management offered for a mutual fund is no different. In the investment world, mutual

Lady Macbeth
Lady Macbeth is the most interesting and complex character in the play. She is, in fact, the point on
which the action pivots: without her there is no play.
Macbeth s most interesting and complex character is most certainly, as the question states, Lady
Macbeth. The purpose of this essay is to describe Lady Macbeth s role in the play and discuss why
this makes her the most fascinating character. Her evil doings are the main reasons why she dominates
the plot so greatly. These include the following: considers Macbeth to be a wimp not wanting to
murder; letting Macbeth fulfill her plan; taking control over Macbeth s thoughts and actions; turning
Macbeth from a loyal man to a greedy, coldhearted human being. Also ... Show more content on

Still asleep Lady Macbeth asks, what, will these hands ne re be clean? foreseeing that she will never
have peace of mind. This change in character is truly remarkable considering her dominant nature in
Acts one and two.
The transformation of the relationship between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth is another interesting part
of Lady Macbeth. In acts one and two their relationship is strong and loving. This strength is shown
when Macbeth agreements to conduct his wife s plans because of a threat Lady Macbeth made to take
away her love. This meant Macbeth was essentially willing to kill so that his relationship with Lady
Macbeth continued.
After the murder and the crowning of Macbeth the once strong relationship between Macbeth and
Lady Macbeth rapidly deteriorates, so much so that when Macbeth hears of his wife s death he does
not feel any emotion what so ever. When Macbeth became king he and his wife rarely saw each other
as Macbeth was occupied in running and protecting Scotland and also himself. At this stage (acts three
and four) in the play Lady Macbeth s role is not as evident but when she did make appearances they
were usually important to the plot.
At the beginning Lady Macbeth finds strength to lure Macbeth to murder King Duncan and to commit
the murder herself. As the play progresses, her apparent strength diminishes as she fights

Exoplanet Proxima B Meaning
On a daily basis, humans are forced to make countless decisions. They can be inconsequential like
should I wear red socks or blue socks? or the weighty decision: Should I go to the convenience store
that s five minutes away or drive for an hour to get to a large supermarket? . How does this translate to
space travel? Well it is a simple and very accurate analogy. As dwellers of the Earth, we have a similar
choice. Travel through space for an inexorable amount of time just to get some milk, bread and eggs
or make a left at the intersection and drive straight until you pass Voyager 1. Then BAM! You have
reached your destination. The exoplanet Proxima B, from the Proxima Centauri star system is the
convenience store of space. Proxima B is conveniently situated and could conceivably support life. As
well as its environmental aspects, humans would benefit from the increase in their extraterrestrial
knowledge by colonizing there. In the constellation Centaurus, there is a star system named Alpha

The Rise Of The Qing Dynasty
During the years 1851 1866 there was massive civil war, or as some would consider it, a rebellion in
China. This period of turmoil was not only the most destructive war of the nineteenth century, but
likely the bloodiest civil war of all time. (Platt, 2012) The ruling government was the Qing dynasty,
who had been in power since the mid 1600 s. There were widespread problems throughout the country
including natural disasters such as droughts, famines, and floods. (Robert Worden, 1988) There were a
substantial number of lower class citizens who were unhappy with their living conditions and with the
Manchu rulers of the Qing dynasty. There was a large gap in economic status between the lower class
and the wealthy members of the government. This social tension along with China being defeated
militarily by France and Britain lead to a citizen uprising in the region of south China. Known as the
Taiping Rebellion, this large scale revolt was fought in an attempt to create a new Han Chinese
dynasty that would unite Christianity and Confucianism. (Black, 2013) The Taiping Rebellion
impacted Chinese history in two main ways: the Chinese lower class learned to fight for social change,
which lead to other rebellions, and, at the same time, the war showcased the Chinese government s
intolerance for and ability to thwart societal change. The first main impact the rebellion had on
Chinese history was that the Chinese people, who were possibility influence by the American Civil

In order to heal a fractured, sprained or dislocated bone, the natives would form a padding of wet clay
or rawhide to form a cast around the injury. This restricted movement, thus allowing the bone to heal

then greased it, applied a warm poultice of wild ginger and spikenard to ease the pain, covered it with

Anglo Saxon Influence
The Anglo Saxon period was a time around 410 AD where settlers from Modern Germany invaded
Britain after the failure of the Roman Empire. Anglo Saxon warriors were hired to preserve the Roman
way of life but decided the land was good for themselves. Therefore, Britain became their home.
Anglo Saxons contributed greatly to the foundations of Britain by spreading their culture in ways of
their language, literature, religion and traditions in law and government. They were referred to as the
First Englishmen and left the strongest reminder of their presence in ways such as the Exeter Book.
The Exeter Book was literature that expressed all the ways and values of the Anglo Saxon people. The

theme of isolationism.
The elegy The Seafarer is poem about a man who both loves and hates the sea. Elegiac tradition is one

Tragedy of the commons or even the Easter Island situation can happen to our environment. As stated
in chapter one, we need a clean ecosystem in order to try to maintain life. We must need clean air,

once you take advantage of the environment like dump waste in our rivers to the point that it causes
water pollution, or burning out all our fossil fuels or gasoline to the point that we have smog, or air

diseases, or even weather conditions can decrease our food production. If our human population and
animal reproduction keeps increasing rapidly, there would be a limited amount of space. For example,

represents an ideology in Western culture; the perpetual conflict between humanity s virtuosity and

described. Stevenson uses this to confuse the reader and amplify the sense of foreboding. Surely when
one can see somebody in their mind, they can describe how they look and describe their deformities
especially? Not being able to describe Hyde shows that he isn t a normal human; he s something far
more inhumane. Utterson meets Hyde when Hyde is trying to go through the door where the novel
started. After talking very briefly with Hyde, Mr. Utterson gets the impression that Hyde prefers the

Personality Traits Of Team Sports
The aim of this investigation was to test if there is a connection between particular personality traits
and any differences in the personality traits of individuals who play team sports and individuals who
play individual sports, such as strong agreeableness and extraversion seen in team sports played. The
hypothesis for this investigation is that students who participate in team sports will on average have
higher scores in the continuum for each stage of the Big Five theory than students who play individual
sports. The investigation involved a questionnaire on 23 year twelve psychology students who will be
given 10 questions ranging from 1 to 5 in terms of their continuum with pairs of two questions on each
stage of OCEAN such as for openness to experience one of the questions has a continuum from
unimaginative to imaginative which the participant will rate themselves on. The questionnaire is self
evaluated therefore the participant would answer based on their perception of themselves. The results
of each individual s answers will be kept anonymous to provide students with their anonymity and to
avoid any issues that may have arisen that would hinder the investigation and affect the individuals.
The results of the research have displayed the higher scores in traits are often apparent in people who

The major objective of the government fiscal policy was to restrict the growth of current expenditure
to a level below the growth of the nominal GDP, thereby making more resources available to support
annual development programme (ADP) undertaken in each year. In line with the Enhanced Structural
Adjustment Facility (ESAF) of the IMF, a number of reforms were initiated, the most important of
which was the introduction of value added tax (VAT) in July 1991.
VAT was introduced at a uniform rate of 15% at the manufacturing cum import level. Together with
protection neutral supplementary duties, this system largely replaced the earlier structure of
differentiated sales tax on import and excise duties on domestic goods. In case of personal income tax,
the major reforms involved the inclusion of entertainment allowances in the personal income tax base,
deduction of investment in approved assets from the tax base, and an introduction of a withholding tax
on dividend with limitation of special expenditure within a reasonable limit. Steps were taken to

The Theory Of Constraints ( Toc ) Essay
Companies, even relatively small ones are incredibly complex. When facing complex systems, it is so
fall into trap of looking for complicated solutions. Still, we all know that complicated solutions do not
work! Instead, what we should do is realize that every complex system is based on inherent simplicity.
The way to rapidly improve systems is to search out that inherent simplicity and capitalize on it. With
such revolutionary point of view Israel physicist Dr. Goldratt put forth new theory through his book
THE GOAL [4]
The theory of constraints (TOC) is a systems management philosophy. TOC is a management point of
view that views any manageable system as being constrained to achieve more of its objective or goals
by very small no. of constraints. Theory of constraints is the methodology with which it is possible to
identify the constraint factors of the system and find out the solutions to improve the constraint. In
1979, development of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) management philosophy began with the
introduction of Optimized Production Timetables scheduling software. TOC has evolved from this
simple production scheduling software program into a suite of integrated management tools
encompassing three interrelated areas: logistics/ production, performance measurement, and problem
solving/thinking tools. As the Theory of Constraints has grown, so has its acceptance by both
practitioners and academicians. [1]
Theory of Constraints represents a drastic change in

  • 2. Essay On Cyber Runestone The Kensington Runestone was discovered almost 120 years ago, but it is believed to be over 650 years old. In 1898, a farmer from the outskirts of Alexandria, MN (Kensington) discovered the medieval artifact. Olof Öhman was originally from Sweden, and came to America in 1879 to own land and farm it, since owning land in Sweden was not an option for him. The Kensington Runestone was unearthed when Olaf Öhman was clearing his land for farming. He came across the stone entangled in the roots of an Aspen tree. It was a 202 pound stone, so it was no easy task getting it out from under that tree. There was more than one eye witness when the runestone was being uncovered. When the stone was discovered, and inscription of it was sent to the University of Minnesota to be translated. It took over one hundred more years for the copy on the stone to be correctly translated. The copy on the stone says Eight Got landers and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many researchers came from all around the world to study the stone, and many tried to say that the stone was a hoax. Öhman and his family had to deal with being in the spotlight and all of the attention they received was mostly negative. One source claimed that Olaf swore to the truth even on his death bed. Some researchers were linguists, and they tried to prove the stone a hoax by saying that some of the inscriptions on the stone didn t exist in the Norse language at the time the stone was supposedly carved (1362), implying that Olaf Öhman carved the stone himself. This accusation has since been proven wrong, as there were artifacts found in Europe that are similar. In the beginning of the twenty first century, it was scientifically proven that Olaf did not carve the stone himself. A geologist determined this by performing a test on the deterioration of the stone. Elephants are killed for their tusks made of ivory. These are typically used for jewelry, ornamental carvings, and art objects. (Perlez, 1989, n.p.). The elephant population has slowly dwindled down throughout the years because of the poaching for ivory and it has caused elephants in some countries to become extinct. The poaching of elephants for their tusks has driven the animal in some countries such as Sierra Leone and Senegal to the point of extinction. • 15. Student Debt Crisis And The Housing Crisis There is a critical financial trend in the United States: student debt is at an all time high. For the first time in mid 2013, student debt rose to 830 billion, surpassing the credit card debt (Clemmitt). Many economists and scholars compare the student debt crisis to the housing bubble, which resulted in a nationwide recession 2008. In a senate hearing regarding the current student debt crisis, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan said, The warning signs are there, just like they were before the housing crisis, and congress needs to act before it is too late (Bidwell). After graduation, many students find it difficult to repay their debt, due to the bleak job market. According to a report published on the financial website Smart money, ten percent student loans borrowers defaulted in 2010 (Clemmitt). The percent was larger for students that attended a for profit educational institution, like a career college; fifteen percent of these students defaulted (Clemmitt). Although the default rates do not contribute to the increasing student debt, one can compare it to the mortgage crisis when people stopped paying their mortgages and the American economy crashed. This exemplifies the critical problem that the student debt bubble if burst; it can have devastating impacts on the vulnerable American economy. Three causes for the increase in student debt are due to recent trends in college attendance, the increase of for profit colleges and the rise of tuition due to spending ... There are things to consider when trying to achieve and master something important. Daniel Pink wrote the book Imagine talking about what really motivates us. I would like to focus mainly on chapter five out of the book, Mastery. The main points in this chapter Pink covers are engagement, flow and the three laws of mastery. In order to make progress there needs to be meaningful feedback, this is known as autonomy. The desire to be self directed and a lead to engagement, Only engagement can produce mastery (Pink 109). The point Daniel Pink is trying to make is that in order for success and mastery, there absolutely needs to be engagement. Humans have developed a way of doing things in which they feel programed to do tasks in routine. In order for individuals to solve difficult tasks and problems, it is important for them to be willing to experiment different ways of doing things. This is where engagement comes in because it is important and essential for people to come up with new solutions and it is the key to mastery. The amount of disengagement in work places has been costing about 300 billion dollars a year just in the United States. Pink also believes that in order to live a satisfying life we need to meet more than just simple demands, We have way too much compliance and way too little engagement (Pink 110). • 18. Description Of An Electrocardiogram, Or Ecg Or Ekg Introduction An Electrocardiogram, or ECG or EKG, is a recording of the hearts electrical activity as a graph over a period of time, as detected by electrodes attached to the outer surface of the skin and recorded by a device external of the body (Boundless). The graph of an ECG can identify various things initiated by the heart, such as its rate, rhythm, a decrease in blood flow, and a possible enlargement. For a healthy individual, a typical ECG shows the whole cardiac cycle or heart beat which includes a P wave (Atrial depolarization), a QRS complex (Ventricular depolarization), and a T wave (Ventricular repolarization). The ECG s first spike or P wave is triggered by the Sinoatrial node (SA node), which is also known as the pacemaker and the electrical impulse from the atria to the ventricles is conducted by the atrioventricular node (AV node). During each heart beat the heart muscle depolarizes, this is detected on the skin where the ECG electrodes are placed by the machine and then translated into a linear representation (Boundless). The resting membrane potential of a heart cell is 60mv, when an influx of positive ions enter the cell (NA+ and CA++) depolarization takes place causing the heart to contract. This action takes place during the peak of the P wave (Atria systole). The QRS complex represent when the left and right ventricles contract and depolarize, also called ventricular systole. This action normally takes place at the highest amplitude in the complex, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The quotation, I m forced, I have no choice I must obey the ones who stand in power [Ismene, 78] is applicable to a modern day context upon considering the political scenario and civil unrest in Syria. Bashar al Assad, the Syrian President, is the equivalent to Sophocles Creon in the sense that they share ultimate power and authority over their people. The prideful exercising of available dominance over civilians forms another bridge between al Assad and Creon, which enables us to create parallels between those facing and accepting the repression. Al Assad s regime has been in power for the last three election terms. The reason for this is not his political competency but rather his dictating presence which has terrorized a majority of innocent citizens. Players who never quite flourished into the players their clubs wanted. There is an easy solution to this problem, an age limit. Extending the age limit from one and done to 20 or 21, would be very beneficial for the players, the teams, and both the NCAA and NBA. First of all, the NCAA would make much more money. The stars would stay in the NCAA a little bit longer. So teams like KU and Kentucky can ride out big names like Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant. It will also benefit smaller teams. For example, say a smaller school like Eastern Kentucky or Dayton, gets a big name or a superstar that draws a big crowd, that school will make more and more money off those large crowds. Additionally, that player would draw attention from other superstars and even out the playing field, in a way. If that happens, teams like Dayton being close in talent to teams like Kansas, the NCAA would have very heated competition all year long, which would get the NCAA even more money off of fans buying gear and watching games at home. Also, the NCAA will be more star heavy, drawing attention from crowds everywhere, further expanding basketball s reach Next, the NBA will also be satisfied with the numbers showing in the bank. This decade long drought, of the Great Plains, was caused by inappropriate and poor farming practices. Not only was there a drought; there was also a severe economic depression that was occurring as well. This combination of economic failure and the drought led to a desolate land, lost lives, misplaced workers, and lose of crops and livestock. The time in history is known as one of the worst man made disasters ever. The lessons learned from these mistakes should be just as important today as it was in the 1930 s. Even though there were only a small percentage of farmers exposed to these luxuries the Sooner State was still a horse and wagon and dirt road farming state. (Fite) By the late 1920 s there was a severe drop in farm prices that severely affected all American agriculture. Oklahoma farmers were among those hardest hit. The prices for cotton, wheat, and livestock, the main source of agricultural income, drastically dropped. This caused a cost price squeeze for farmers because the products that farmers had to buy remained the same. These conditions intensified among Oklahoma farmers who believed that the large corporate and financial institutions had become their oppressors. However hard the economic struggle was for farmers in the agricultural depression of the 1920 s, the onset of the Great Depression in 1929 and 1930 created even worse conditions. The farm commodity prices had dropped to disastrous levels by 1931 and 1932. Cotton had fell to five cents a pound and wheat brought as little as thirty cents a bushel. Other livestock and crops dropped as well; peanuts declined to as low as $1.60 for one hundred pounds, or about one and one half cents a pound. Reynold s Number Therefore if two spheres have the same Reynold s number, they should both have the same aerodynamic characteristics even if the spheres are of different sizes and/or are flying at different speeds. The boundary layer is a thin layer of air which lies closely to the surface of the body in motion, and within this layer the adverse pressure gradient is crated which causes the separation of flow. When the Reynolds numbers are low, the boundary is smooth and called laminar. Laminar boundary layers usually reduce drag on most shapes, however due to their fragile nature they separate from the surface of an object very easily when they encounter an adverse pressure gradient, and this separated flow causes the drag to remain so high below the critical ... • 28. Taking a Look at Mangroves 1.0 Introduction A mangrove is a tree, shrub, palm or ground fern, generally exceeding one and a half metres in height, which normally grows above mean sea level in the intertidal zone of marine coastal environments and estuarine margins. A mangrove is also the tidal habitat comprising such trees and shrubs (Mangroves defined, n.d.). To survive in an intertidal environment, they must be able to tolerate a broad range of salinity, temperatures and moisture levels. In an environment with such low oxygen levels, different species of mangroves use different adaptations in an effort to get as much oxygen as possible. Different species of mangroves gather oxygen in different ways, some use roots that protrude from the ground called peg roots, these peg roots, which are covered in lenticels, can reach up to 30cm in height and allow the plant to exchange gas, as an extension of the roots, which run through the ground, this allows the plant to absorb nutrients from the soil as well, which is a common adaptation in all species of mangroves. Other species are raised from the ground on stilt roots that gather oxygen in the upper reaches of the roots, and then descend into the ground. Slit roots are similar to knee root, except knee root first grow into the ground and then breach the surface to collect oxygen (Marine Education Society of Australiasia , n.d.). This period of turmoil was not only the most destructive war of the nineteenth century, but likely the bloodiest civil war of all time. (Platt, 2012) The ruling government was the Qing dynasty, who had been in power since the mid 1600 s. There was a large gap in economic status between the lower class and the wealthy members of the government. This social tension along with China being defeated militarily by France and Britain lead to a citizen uprising in the region of south China. Known as the Taiping Rebellion, this large scale revolt was fought in an attempt to create a new Han Chinese dynasty that would unite Christianity and Confucianism. Personality Traits Of Team Sports The aim of this investigation was to test if there is a connection between particular personality traits and any differences in the personality traits of individuals who play team sports and individuals who play individual sports, such as strong agreeableness and extraversion seen in team sports played. The hypothesis for this investigation is that students who participate in team sports will on average have higher scores in the continuum for each stage of the Big Five theory than students who play individual sports. The investigation involved a questionnaire on 23 year twelve psychology students who will be given 10 questions ranging from 1 to 5 in terms of their continuum with pairs of two questions on each stage of OCEAN such as for openness to experience one of the questions has a continuum from unimaginative to imaginative which the participant will rate themselves on. The questionnaire is self evaluated therefore the participant would answer based on their perception of themselves. The results of each individual s answers will be kept anonymous to provide students with their anonymity and to avoid any issues that may have arisen that would hinder the investigation and affect the individuals. The results of the research have displayed the higher scores in traits are often apparent in people who play team sports whereas lower scores are more prominent in participants who are involved in individual sports. These results have drawn to the conclusion that those who have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The major objective of the government fiscal policy was to restrict the growth of current expenditure to a level below the growth of the nominal GDP, thereby making more resources available to support annual development programme (ADP) undertaken in each year. In line with the Enhanced Structural Adjustment Facility (ESAF) of the IMF, a number of reforms were initiated, the most important of which was the introduction of value added tax (VAT) in July 1991. VAT was introduced at a uniform rate of 15% at the manufacturing cum import level. Together with protection neutral supplementary duties, this system largely replaced the earlier structure of differentiated sales tax on import and excise duties on domestic goods. In case of personal income tax, the major reforms involved the inclusion of entertainment allowances in the personal income tax base, deduction of investment in approved assets from the tax base, and an introduction of a withholding tax on dividend with limitation of special expenditure within a reasonable limit. Steps were taken to reduce interest rates on government savings instruments and subsidies for food and jute. A good number of public sector enterprises were denationalised through sales to the private sector. These reform measures resulted in a remarkable improvement in the fiscal situation of Bangladesh after 1990. The growth of current expenditures was contained below the ... • 48. The Theory Of Constraints ( Toc ) Essay Companies, even relatively small ones are incredibly complex. When facing complex systems, it is so fall into trap of looking for complicated solutions. Still, we all know that complicated solutions do not work! Instead, what we should do is realize that every complex system is based on inherent simplicity. The way to rapidly improve systems is to search out that inherent simplicity and capitalize on it. With such revolutionary point of view Israel physicist Dr. Goldratt put forth new theory through his book THE GOAL [4] The theory of constraints (TOC) is a systems management philosophy. TOC is a management point of view that views any manageable system as being constrained to achieve more of its objective or goals by very small no. of constraints. Theory of constraints is the methodology with which it is possible to identify the constraint factors of the system and find out the solutions to improve the constraint. In 1979, development of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) management philosophy began with the introduction of Optimized Production Timetables scheduling software. TOC has evolved from this simple production scheduling software program into a suite of integrated management tools encompassing three interrelated areas: logistics/ production, performance measurement, and problem solving/thinking tools. As the Theory of Constraints has grown, so has its acceptance by both practitioners and academicians. [1] Theory of Constraints represents a drastic change in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
