LET US PRAY
•Our Heavenly Father we thank You for
your Grace and Mercy upon our lives. We
acknowledge Your precious Holy Spirit as
our Teacher whom will teach us all things
(John 14:26).
•We acknowledge that we can’t learn the
truths of Your Word by our intellect but
they have to be revealed to us by Your
Holy Spirit in our hearts.

•Father we ask that your Holy Spirit
ministers to us and reveals the truths of
your Word to us as we go thru these
slides. This we ask Father, in the name of
your only begotten Son our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

DISCOVERING THE BELIEVERS
AUTHORITY
•The Question - Do we have authority that
we don’t know about, that we haven’t
discovered, that we are not using?
•Response - Oh a resounding Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!
•The Path To Discovery – Understanding
and knowing our authority is a function of
the truths of God’s word that are revealed
to us by His Holy Spirit in our hearts –
Joshua 1:8

AUTHORITY
•Asking For Wisdom: A Good Way To Start
•Eph 3:17-19 – That Christ may dwell in your
hearts through faith; that you, being rooted
and grounded in love, May be able to
comprehend with all saints what is the
breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passes
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the
fullness of God.

AUTHORITY
• Asking For Wisdom: A Good Way To Start –
• Eph 1:16-20 – I Cease not to give thanks for you,
making mention of you in my prayers, That the God
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may
give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in
the knowledge of him: The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know
what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of
the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is
the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who
believe, according to the working of his mighty
power, Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised
Him from the dead, and set him at His own right
hand in the heavenly places.

• Foundations For Our Authority –
• Our Faith
• 2nd
Corth 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a
new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all
things have become new.
• Where we are seated
• Eph2: 5-6 – Even when we were dead in trespasses, made
us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been
saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit
together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Corth 6:17 – But he who is joined to the Lord is one
spirit with Him.

•Foundations For Our Authority –
•Where we are seated
• Eph 1: 20-21 – Which He worked in Christ when
He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at
His right hand in the heavenly places, far above
all principality and power and might and
dominion, and every name that is named, not
only in this age but also in that which is to
come.

AUTHORITY
•The Name of Jesus
•Philip 2: 9-10 – Therefore God also has
highly exalted Him and given Him the name
which is above every name, that at the
name of Jesus every knee should bow, of
those in heaven, and of those on earth, and
of those under the earth, and that every
tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

AUTHORITY
•Our Lord’s Mandate to us –
• Luke 10:19-20 – Behold, I give you the authority
to trample on serpents and scorpions and over
all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by
any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not
rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to
you, but rather rejoice because your names are
written in heaven.

AUTHORITY
•Our Lord’s Mandate to us –
• Math 28:18-20 – Then Jesus came and spoke to
them saying “All authority has been given to
Me in heaven and on earth, go therefore and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am
with you always, even to the end of the age.”

EXERCISING OUR AUTHORITY IN
CHRIST
•Exercising Authority over Whom?
• Eph 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places.
• The Lord has delegated His authority to the
church and we are to exercise that authority over
the devil. Luke 10: 19-20, Math 28:18-20

•Mark 16:17-18 – And these signs will follow
those who believe: In My name they will cast
out demons; they will speak with new
tongues; they will take up serpents; and if
they drink anything deadly, it will by no
means hurt them; they will lay hands on the
sick, and they will recover.

Peter 5:8-9 – Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil walks about like a
roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

• Rom 5:17 – For if by one man’s offense death
reigned through the one, much more those who

you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and
whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in
heaven.

•Eph 6:10-11 – Finally, my brethren, be strong
in the Lord and in the power of His might, Put
on the whole armor of God (Eph 6: 14-18),
that you may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil.

• Sword of the Spirit – The sword of the Spirit is
the word of God. Hebr 4:12 – For the word of
God is living and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the
division of soul and spirit, and of joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart.

Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit; being watchful to
this end with all perseverance and
supplication for all the saints.

•Using the Sword of the Spirit –
• Has to be done in Faith – Rom 1:17 – The just
shall live by faith. 2nd
Corth 5:7 – For we walk by
faith not by sight.
• ***And Faith works by Love – Galtn 5:6 – For
in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor
uncircumcision avails anything, but faith
working through love.

UNDERSTANDING OUR
RESPONSIBILITIES AS CHRISTIANS
• Responsibility To Society
• The degree to which we understand the love
command (Luke 10:27) and God’s love (1st
Corth 13)
would determine how well we perform and
appreciate our responsibilities as Christians.
• Responsibility To Society – Salt and Light
(Math 5:13-16), Servant of all (Math 23:11, Mark
9:35), Prayers (1st
Timothy 2:1-6) amongst
others.

SUMMARY
•In summary every believer is seated in
heavenly places in Christ Jesus far above all
principalities and powers.
•We have authority over the devil and all
principalities and powers and are called to
do the works Christ did.

SUMMARY
•The journey is a continuous one of learning
and growing in the knowledge of God’s
word and the truth contained therein. And
more importantly receiving these truths in
our hearts.
•Our ability to exercise our authority
effectively is a function of both the level of
our faith and how we exercise the love of
God that has been shed abroad in our heart.

SUMMARY
•We are called to reign in life as Kings with
the love of God that has been shed abroad
in our heart in service to all and in humility
so that we may not fall into pride.

RECEIVING THE GIFT OF SALVATION
• Are you saved? Have you received God’s gift of
salvation (Eph. 2:8)? I encourage you to accept the
Lord’s precious gift of salvation which is freely
available to the whole of mankind.
• Faith in Jesus Christ is primarily what is required to
be saved. The bible tells us for all have sinned and
fallen short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23) and the
wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23). As a result, the
whole of mankind deserves to be separated from
God eternally (Rom 6:23).

• However, our Father loves us dearly and as such
he sent His only begotten son to die in our place
(John 3:16-17) so that we may be saved and has
through Christ reconciled us back to Himself (2nd
Corth 5:18).
• It is not His desire that any should perish but that
all should come to repentance (2nd
Pet 3:9) and
accept His precious gift of salvation. If you would
like to accept this gift please say the following
confession.

The Gospel
is Lo rd

• Father I come to You in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the
son of God and that He died for my sins and was
raised from the dead for my justification according
to the scriptures. I believe that because of His
death, burial and resurrection, I am set right with
God. So I receive Him(Jesus) in my heart as my
saviour and confess Him with my mouth as my
Lord. Thank You, Lord.
