Fade in
SCENE 1: EXT HOUSE
1 - It is night time. We see the house in the distance as
the camera moves towards the house. 2 - It looks
creepy as there is Halloween decorations outside such as
spiderwebs and pumpkins.
SCENE 2: INT. KIDS BEDROOM
3 - We are introduced to jack and Kate, jack is a young boy
he has glasses and is wearing his blue 4 - pyjamas, he
has curly blonde hair. Kate is a little older looking than
jack and has long black hair and is wearing pink pyjamas.
They are both sat 5 - on their beds just playing with
their toys. Jack is playing with a toy car while Kate is
playing with a Barbie doll.
SCENE 3: INT. HALL
6 - We are now introduced to Karen she is a mid 40 women
who has medium length brown hair. She is 7 - wearing
a knee-length, bottle-green dress and she looks that sort
of nervous that you look when you are late for something.
So, it is inferred that she is going out for a meal by the
way she is dressed and 8 - that she is late by the look
on her face.
Karen
9 - Paul will you please hurry up
You always make us late for
Meals! Can you please be on
Time for once?
SCENE 4: INT. PARENTS BEDROOM

We see Paul for the first time. He too is a mid 40-year-
old, with short brown hair. He has his towel around him and
wet hair showing he has just gotten out of the shower.
10 - Paul
I’m just coming darling I wont be
Long
SCENE 5: EXT. HOUSE
11 - We are introduced to Emily for the first time. She is
a teenage girl who has long brown hair and is wearing
ripped jeans and a hoodie. She is walking 12 - towards
the house and then she rings the doorbell and we see the
door open and Karen stood in the doorway.
SCENE 6:INT. HALL
13 - Karen
Hello, you must be Emily
Emily
Hi, yeah, I am
Karen
Come in, come in. I’m Karen, how are you.

Emily steps into the house and takes her jacket off and her
shoes off
Emily
Yeah, I’m good thanks.
Karen
14 - Let me just get the children.
JACK, KATE COME HERE NOW.
15 - Jack and Kate come running downstairs still with their
toys in their hands.
Karen
This is your babysitter for the night
(turns to Emily)
16 - This is jack and this Is Kate
Emily
17 - Hi guys, I’m Emily
18 - The children don’t say anything, they just stay stood
behind Karen holding their toys.
Karen
19 - Alright children go up to bed now.
20 - The children go running up the stairs back to their
room.

SCENE 7: INT CHILDRENS BEDROOM
21 - The children get into bed still holding their toys.
SCENE 8: INT. HALL
22 - Karen
Sorry about them they’re very
Shy, especially with new people.
23 - Emily just gives a little nervous laugh.
Karen
24 - Paul please will you hurry up
We have to go, what are you
Doing up there?
SCENE 9: INT. PARENTS BEDROOM
25 - Paul is now dressed and is just putting his shoes on.
He is wearing a shirt and jeans further showing they are
going out somewhere nice.
Paul
I’m just coming darling
SCENE 10: INT. HALL
26 - We see Paul come running down the stairs into the hall

Paul
27 - Hi, you must be Emily in Paul
It’s nice to meet you
Emily
You too
Paul
Are you ready to go Karen?
Karen
28 - Yeah let’s go
(turns to Emily)
Just call us if you need anything
The children should be asleep now
Help yourself to any food in the
Kitchen and you can watch tv in
The lounge if you want. Bye
Emily
Okay have a good night, bye.
29 - Paul and Karen leave the house.

SCENE 11: EXT. HOUSE
30 - It is now a little later this is shown as it is much
darker outside. The house is dark apart from the 31 - one
light coming from the lounge. The camera zooms towards the
window.
SCENE 12: INT. LOUNGE
32 - Emily is sat on the sofa. She has a drink and the
remote on the small table next to the sofa. She is watching
a reality show on the tv and then 33 - suddenly the
channel changes. She picks up the 34 - remote from next to
her and puts the channel 35 - she was watching back on.
SCENE 13: INT. CHILDRENS BEDROOM
36 - The children are still in bed holding their toys 37 -
as jack starts wiggling and wrestling in bed as if he is
having a nightmare.
SCENE 14: INT. LOUNGE
38 - Emily is still watching desperate housewives 39 -
while she is on her phone. The tv then turns 40 - static
as if the connection had been lost. She 41 - turns to pick
up the remote and it isn’t there anymore she looks around a
bit. She looks to see if 42 - it’s fallen down, or if it’s
under the seat. She 43 - then looks back up and it is on
the small table 44 - where it was at the start which she
finds weird as it wasn’t there a second ago. She puts
desperate housewives back on and has a sip of her drink.
She puts her drink back down and carries on watching her
show. She then goes to have another sip but her drink 45 -
isn’t there anymore so she goes to look for it.
SCENE 15: INT. KITCHEN
46 - She goes to look in the kitchen and as she walks 47 -
in she sees jack is just stood there holding his toy car
staring at the wall. So she slowly walks over to him.

48 - Emily
Jack what are you doing up at
This time?
49 - Jack doesn’t respond so Emily keeps walking towards
him hesitantly.
50 - Emily
you should still be in bed its
Late, you’ll get me in trouble.
Still no response from jack as Emily edges closer and 51 -
closer. She then edges her way around jack so 52 - she can
see his face and his eyes are closed. She starts to nudge
him to wake him up.
Emily
Jack are you sleep walking? Wake up
Let’s get you back to bed.
53 - Jack says nothing he just walks out of the 54 -
kitchen and back to his room. Emily follows him
SCENE 16: INT. CHILDRENS BEDROOM
55 - Emily checks that jack gets back into bed alright and
the leaves the children’s’ bedroom.
SCEEN 17: INT. LANDING
Emily is stood on the upstairs hallway outside of the
children’s bedroom. She hears movement from the 56 -

parents’ bedroom and pushes the door open slowly and
quietly and takes a look in.
SCENE 18: INT. CHILDRENS BEDROOM
Emily steps into the bedroom and doesn’t see anything
suspicious apart from the bathroom door is open slightly
and the light is on in there. She walks over 57 - slowly
and pushes the door open but nothing is there so she turns
the light off, closes the door and 58 - goes back to the
lounge.
SCENE 19: INT. LOUNGE
59 - Emily gets back to the lounge and her drink is back
where it was, but she looks outside and sees a 60 - clown
in the garden. She panics. Without taking her eye off the
clown she starts to call Karen.
Emily
61 - Karen! Karen! I need your help
There is a clown in the garden
Karen
A clown? In the garden?
Emily
Yes a clown get home as quick as
You can
Karen
Okay we’ll come home now go lock
The door, get the kids and hide we
Won’t be long.

Emily puts her phone in her pocket and sprints to the door.
SCENE 20: INT. HALL
62 - Emily looks for the keys to lock the door but cant
find any. She looks all around the hall knocking everything
onto the floor then finally finds the keys and hurriedly
locks the door. She then runs up to find the kids.
SCENE 21: INT. CHILDRENS BEDROOM
64 - she runs into the room and the children aren’t in
there.
Emily
KIDS WHERE ARE YOU
SCENE 22: INT. KITCHEN
65 - She runs into the kitchen, but the children aren’t
there either.
SCENE 23: INT. LOUNGE
66 - Emily runs back into the lounge to check in there. The
kids aren’t there. She then looks out of 67 - the window
and the clown isn’t there either.
SCENE 24: INT. HALL
She runs back into the hall and the strange door in 68 -
the corner is now open slightly. She pushes it open fully
and it reveals a dark room with stairs 69 - going down.
She then slowly walks down the stairs using the torch from
her phone.

SCENE 25: INT. THE BASEMENT
She gets to the bottom of the stairs and sees the children
in the corner, toys in their hands staring at the wall. She
slowly approaches them.
Emily
70 = Kids we gotta hide there’s a clown
Outside
71 - No response from the children so she keeps 72 -
walking closer and closer. Then out of nowhere the clown
comes out from the shadows and whacks her 73 - round the
head with a bat. Emily is lying on the floor in a pool of
blood. The clown slowly takes its mask off revealing Pauls
face.
Paul
Go to bed now kids your work
Here is done.
The kids run off up the stairs to their beds.
Fade out
Black screen saying 3 months later.
Fade in

SCENE 26: INT. THE LOUNGE
74 - All the family is in the lounge watching the tv. The
children holding their toys, then in comes Emily in a maids
outfit with bruises all over her face.
Emily
75 - Can I get anyone a drink?
Karen
A tea please
Karen walks out of the lounge
SCENE 27: EXT. HOUSE
76 - The camera starts zooming out from the house.
Fade out

CHILDRENS BEDROOM Emily steps into the bedroom and doesn’t see anything suspicious apart from the bathroom door is open slightly and the light is on in there. She walks over 57 - slowly and pushes the door open but nothing is there so she turns the light off, closes the door and 58 - goes back to the lounge. SCENE 19: INT. LOUNGE 59 - Emily gets back to the lounge and her drink is back where it was, but she looks outside and sees a 60 - clown in the garden. She panics. Without taking her eye off the clown she starts to call Karen. Emily 61 - Karen! Karen! I need your help There is a clown in the garden Karen A clown? In the garden? Emily Yes a clown get home as quick as You can Karen Okay we’ll come home now go lock The door, get the kids and hide we Won’t be long.
  • 10. 10 Emily puts her phone in her pocket and sprints to the door. SCENE 20: INT. HALL 62 - Emily looks for the keys to lock the door but cant find any. She looks all around the hall knocking everything onto the floor then finally finds the keys and hurriedly locks the door. She then runs up to find the kids. SCENE 21: INT. CHILDRENS BEDROOM 64 - she runs into the room and the children aren’t in there. Emily KIDS WHERE ARE YOU SCENE 22: INT. KITCHEN 65 - She runs into the kitchen, but the children aren’t there either. SCENE 23: INT. LOUNGE 66 - Emily runs back into the lounge to check in there. The kids aren’t there. She then looks out of 67 - the window and the clown isn’t there either. SCENE 24: INT. HALL She runs back into the hall and the strange door in 68 - the corner is now open slightly. She pushes it open fully and it reveals a dark room with stairs 69 - going down. She then slowly walks down the stairs using the torch from her phone.
  • 11. 11 SCENE 25: INT. THE BASEMENT She gets to the bottom of the stairs and sees the children in the corner, toys in their hands staring at the wall. She slowly approaches them. Emily 70 = Kids we gotta hide there’s a clown Outside 71 - No response from the children so she keeps 72 - walking closer and closer. Then out of nowhere the clown comes out from the shadows and whacks her 73 - round the head with a bat. Emily is lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The clown slowly takes its mask off revealing Pauls face. Paul Go to bed now kids your work Here is done. The kids run off up the stairs to their beds. Fade out Black screen saying 3 months later. Fade in
  • 12. 12 SCENE 26: INT. THE LOUNGE 74 - All the family is in the lounge watching the tv. The children holding their toys, then in comes Emily in a maids outfit with bruises all over her face. Emily 75 - Can I get anyone a drink? Karen A tea please Karen walks out of the lounge SCENE 27: EXT. HOUSE 76 - The camera starts zooming out from the house. Fade out
