Advantages of ALM:
• Language learning is A process of
habit formation.
• Students are given drills.
• In this method students can make
sentence pattern without stopping
to think.
• IN ALM students can increase their
pronunciation and speaking ability.
• It achieves noticeable success in
developing oral fluency.
• It can also improve their listening ability,
in ALM sometimes teacher use tape and
language lab to hear dialogue from it.
• This method promotes the use of
ENGLISH for communication in
everyday situation
Disadvantages of ALM:
• Students were not exposed to real or
realistic language.
• This method is too rigid ,classes tend to
drag
• Students complain about the boredom
caused by endless pattern drills.
• Pupil turns into parrot because of
repetition who can reproduce many
things but never create anything
new
• This method is time consuming

  • 14. Advantages of ALM: • Language learning is A process of habit formation. • Students are given drills. • In this method students can make sentence pattern without stopping to think. • IN ALM students can increase their pronunciation and speaking ability.
  • 15. • It achieves noticeable success in developing oral fluency. • It can also improve their listening ability, in ALM sometimes teacher use tape and language lab to hear dialogue from it. • This method promotes the use of ENGLISH for communication in everyday situation
  • 16. Disadvantages of ALM: • Students were not exposed to real or realistic language. • This method is too rigid ,classes tend to drag • Students complain about the boredom caused by endless pattern drills.
  • 17. • Pupil turns into parrot because of repetition who can reproduce many things but never create anything new • This method is time consuming
