This document discusses textual analysis and interpretation from several perspectives: 1) A text is related to and influenced by its context, other texts, the world, and the reader/writer. 2) Texts represent reality through language but also construct their own reality, influenced by social and ideological forces. 3) Literary texts in particular can be analyzed to reveal how they present ideological constructions through certain techniques, representing the influence of social and historical context on both the writer and reader.

 A mode of (re)presenting “reality”.
 Not simply mirroring as a passive mirror reflecting reality.
 It is a kind of projector, projecting certain reality through language (the sign
system).
 It’s not only about the image or the close resemblance to reality but the creation
of reality itself.
 Seemingly, individual point of view/perception. In a wider context, it is a
product of social construction.
 Consider how the writer is influenced by his/her social life. This also applies
to the reader.
 Considering this, Lit text is a kind of construction with its constructiveness
(constructed and constructing) feature. Meaning that lit text relates to a
mode of production; It is being produced (with certain flavor to
satisfy/create certain flavor) to be consumed.
 Applying this to our (re)reading process means that we read/interpret this
construction.

interpretation/reading. When you apply the critical
theory in your analysis, it means that you’re trying
to reveal (make visible the invisible) “the
construction” of the text related to the world,
another text, reader, or the writer.
