Ronald Reagan High School analyzed its Texas STaR Chart data from 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. The STaR Chart evaluates schools in four areas of technology integration: Teaching and Learning, Educator Preparation and Development, Leadership/Administration/Support, and Infrastructure. Ronald Reagan scored at the Advanced Technology level in all areas for both years. While the school performs well overall, Educator Preparation received the lowest ratings. To improve, the school plans to offer more technology training options for teachers throughout the year.

5. Our Strengths
• Ronald Reagan High School is in line with all of
the state and national standards.
• Ronald Reagan High School is at the Advanced
Technology level for all areas of the STaR
Chart classification.
• Ronald Reagan High School ranks highest in
the area of ‘Teaching and Learning’.
• Ronald Reagan High School has a high rating
in ‘Infrastructure for Technology’.

6. Our Weaknesses
• The area of ‘Educator Preparation and
Development’ has the lowest rating of all of the
key areas.
• ‘Educator Preparation and Development’ has
consistently received the lowest rating by those
surveyed.
• In the area of ‘Leadership, Administration and
Instructional Support’ we had a three point loss
stemming from the Budget, as well as Support
for Online Learning.

7. What does the future hold?
• We need to keep on doing what is working for our
campus. We are doing many things right!
• In order to improve the area of ‘Educator Preparation
and Development’, I would make the following
recommendations:
• Classes should be offered throughout the year, at various
times during the day (to include teacher conference periods)
• On professional development days offer technology training
sessions that are supportive of the campus improvement
plan
• Gain input from teachers about the types of training needed
to make them more successful in reaching all students
• Administrative support should be in place
