A survey of 349 respondents at Huntington Hospital found that: - The majority were nurses (28%) or physicians (27%) - iPhones (63%) and iPads (42%) were the most commonly used devices - 35% of respondents planned to purchase a new device within the next 3-6 months, mostly iPhones (14%) or iPads (10%) - The majority used mobile devices to access hospital resources (69%) and library resources (90%) - Respondents most wanted help from the library in recommendations for apps (58%) and training on apps (38%).

Stanley Yang (NeuroSky): Remote Vital Signs Monitoring to Reduce Healthcare Costs for Enterprise and Governments
Heart rate, ECG, Blood pressure, Blood glucose, body temperature, blood oxygen saturation, etc are vital health signs that have been widely used in the medical field to assess the state of a person's health. In the past these measurements were typically carried out in a doctor's office by trained personnel using specialized equipment only when the person visits the doctor's office. These infrequent and isolated measurements do not provide a consolidated and continuous view of how these markers are varying on everyday basis while the person is going about their normal day-to-day life. It is well known that early detection of significant changes to these health markers can prevent/delay the onset of more serious diseases. Technology and products from NeuroSky and partners enable easy to use devices that can be used by individuals/employees/families to measure all these vital signs at home/office/anywhere and remotely and securely send data to the healthcare provider/institution/government agency as the case may be. Having access to this consolidated view of health markers enables these entities to identify early signs of health risks and preemptively take measures to address the issues. Technisource Women in IT Careers Survey - Monster.com
Despite years of criticism on the subject, there are still large disparities in the way men and women view employment within the technology field, according to the 2010 Technisource Women in Information Technology Report (conducted by Monster.com®). Most notably, differences in viewpoints were concentrated in compensation, mentors and role models, and challenges faced.
The new study demonstrates that while some lagging societal issues remain unchanged across the board, such as equal compensation, some perceived differences may be the result of specific choices and priorities between genders.
Among the key findings:
Career Satisfaction
Seventy-eight percent of women do not believe that compensation is equal between men and women – nearly half of the male respondents do perceive equality.
When asked about most important factors to men and women for career satisfaction, the greatest differences were men chose compensation and women chose being challenged and flexibility.
Career Progression
Fifty-two percent of women working in IT believe there is a "glass ceiling" that restricts their employment growth (28% of women are neutral).
When asked what the most important factors for career success were over the next five years, both men and women responded with technology experience and skills.
Mentorship/Role Models
When asked if respondents have had or do have a mentor, women responded the highest with 33 percent to 28 percent of men.
Seventy-three percent of women do not believe there are enough role models for women (versus 52 percent of men).
Future of Women in IT
Both men (56 percent) and women (70 percent) believe that greater promotion of IT as a career choice for women is the top encouraging factor for young women to enter the field.
Twenty-seven percent of men believe that women have an advantage over men working in the IT field.
Only 26 percent of men and 24 percent of women believe that society encourages young women to study math and science.
According to respondents, 74 percent of women believe female workers face a different set of career challenges than their male counterparts (compared to 48 percent of men).
"Our Women in Information Technology Report shows that there appear to be differences beyond how both women and men view their compensation and career progression within the IT field," said Alisia Genzler, vice president of the Northeast Region of Technisource. "Employers should take heed of these differing mindsets to better understand the unique priorities and challenges each of these groups face. Failing to do so will affect employee satisfaction, work performance, and in turn create a workforce that will jump at the opportunity to work for an employer that recognizes and acknowledges what really matters to them."

Smartphone Usage In Indonesia
The survey found that Samsung, Xiaomi and Oppo are the most well-known smartphone brands in Indonesia. Television commercials (TVC) and Facebook are effective channels for building brand awareness. Samsung has the largest market share at 27% in the Indonesian smartphone market. Quality, an easy-to-use operating system, and a trusted brand name are the main criteria Indonesians consider when choosing a smartphone. Over half of respondents were unhappy that their smartphone batteries do not last long enough. While most were satisfied with their current brand, only 8% said they were truly loyal to the brand, with 39% wanting to switch to another brand.
Covid 19 research - wave 2
Over half of research businesses surveyed in August forecast growth in 2020 prior to COVID-19, with over half of those forecasting growth of at least 10%. Since the start of the pandemic, a majority have seen negative revenue impacts, though fewer than in May. Face-to-face qualitative and quantitative work remain most affected, with under a quarter recommencing at lower volumes. Online qualitative has increased. Around half of companies interviewed applied for government job support schemes, and more applied for business loans than in May. Current experiences with furlough schemes vary, with some still using them and others having made redundancies.
HP Mobile App Usage Survey

- Mobile devices are heavily used, with people on their mobile within 5 minutes of waking and spending over an hour on it daily on average. The most common first daily activities on mobile are social networking, news, and weather.
- People are highly dependent on their mobile for daily activities like banking, ordering food, transportation info, doctor appointments, exercise classes, travel info and restaurant reservations.
- Losing one's mobile is a big concern, primarily due to not being able to make/receive calls and texts, more so than other factors like maps/GPS. Younger people age 18-29

Rethinking Enterprise UX in the Age of Consumerization
The line between personal and professional spheres is blurring; vital business processes can now be handled from smartphones, and workers expect applications to be as intuitive and easy to use as the ones they enjoy outside the office. At the same time, the gap between expectations for business applications and the reality presents an intriguing opportunity for developers. By implementing a mobile-first strategy, enterprises can increase employee satisfaction as well as productivity, all while staying ahead of emerging technology.
In our experience working with Fortune 500 brands, we have seen the importance of considering how the customer wants to feel when using a product, not just the features they want included. Users want apps that feel sexy, but this is achieved by providing an effortless experience that evokes a feeling of skill and aptitude in use.
As well, these apps must be capable of handling critical processes without missing a beat, integrating real time data and on the go capabilities with ease. To achieve the best of both worlds, we follow a user-lead approach, thinking first about how the end-user will interact with an application to preserve engagement and productivity.
Based on our experience working with enterprise clients, we guided session participants through the process of creating effective, intuitive and functional enterprise apps that are seamless and delightful to use. This will include integrating a user-led approach, planning for emerging technology such as wearables, and leading the way to a mobile-first strategy in the enterprise.

Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
