Technological developments in food production have helped overcome malnutrition problems to some extent. The Green Revolution and genetically modified foods have increased crop yields in developing countries. For example, rice production more than doubled in China and increased by 84% in Indonesia. Modern irrigation methods have also boosted food production, allowing multiple crops per year. However, excessive irrigation can cause soil issues. While GM foods like Golden Rice aim to prevent blindness, they may pose health risks that some countries worry about. Overall, increased food supply has reduced malnutrition, but other human and economic factors still limit full solutions.
