INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
What Is Techno Economics ?
The Term Techno Economic is
combination of two different words i.e.
Technology & Economics
It deals with the Impact of Technology
on Economics or in another words we
can say that how economy is being
affected by technology
Techno Economic is shows the good as
well as adverse effects of technology on
economics
What is Technology ?What is Technology ?
 Technology is comprised of the products
and processes created by engineers to meet our
needs and wants.
Needs vs. WantsNeeds vs. Wants
 Needs – what people
must have to live.
Food , Clothing ,Shelter
 Wants – the
things we would
like to have, but
can live without.
ECONOMYECONOMY
 Economy is concerned with the
production, consumption, distribution
and investment of goods and services.
 Economics is the social science that
studies economic activities.
 Types of economics :-
1.Micro-Economics
2.Macro-Economics
Economy(Contd.)-Economy(Contd.)-
1.Micro-Economics:-
Study of economy at individual or small
level
2.Macro-Economics:-
Study of economic system as a whole.
Ex.-study of Indian Economy.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
 “Development is a multi dimensional
process involving changes in social
structures, popular attitudes, and national
institutions, as well as the acceleration of
economic growth, the reduction of
inequality, and the eradication of
poverty.”
 Economic development consists of the
reduction or elimination of poverty,
inequality and unemployment within
the context of a growing economy.
 In economic terms, development is the
capacity of a nation to generate and
sustain an annual increase in its GNP
(Gross National Product).
ROLE OF THE ENTREPRENEURROLE OF THE ENTREPRENEUR
 An innovator who combines technical innovations
and financial finesses.
 Important role in producing competitive products,
processes, and services.
 Generation of new employment
 Local and regional economic development
 Improved allocation of resources and transfer of
technologies
ROLE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIPROLE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP
IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTIN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
 Introduction of new goods and products
 Introduction of new processes and methods of
production
 Opening up of new markets
 Opening up of new sources of supply
 Industrial re-organization
FEASIBILITY ANALYSISFEASIBILITY ANALYSIS
 Feasibility analysis is the process of determining
whether a business idea is viable.
 It is the preliminary evaluation of a business
idea, conducted for the purpose of determining
whether the idea is worth pursuing.
 Feasibility analysis takes the guesswork (to a
certain degree) out of a business launch, and
provides an entrepreneur with a more secure
notion that a business idea is feasible or viable.
Role of feasibility analysis in developingRole of feasibility analysis in developing
successful businesssuccessful business ideasideas
BENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGYBENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGY
1. ABLE TO PERFORM
EVERYDAY TASKS
FASTER
2. ABLE TO PROCESS
INFORMATION,
MANAGE AND KEEP
RECORDS BETTER
3. HELPS PEOPLE GATHER
INFORMATION, LEARN,
ENJOY
ENTERTAINMENT AND
COMMUNICATE
DRAWBACKS OF TECHNOLOGYDRAWBACKS OF TECHNOLOGY
1. HEALTH &
DEVELOPMENT MAY
BE ADVERSELY
AFFECTED
a. PHYSICAL INACTIVITY
b. “COCOONING” =TOO
MUCH TIME ALONE
WITH A COMPUTER
LEADING TO
LONELINESS AND
ISOLATION
DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-
2. DAMAGE TO THE
ENVIRONMENT
 OBSOLESCENCE
 A STATE OF
USELESSNESS.
 AS THIS TREND
INCREASES DUE TO
TECHNOLOGICAL
CHANGES, THE
RESULT IS A LOT OF
TRASH.
DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-
3.TOO EASY TO SPEND
VIA INSTANT
ACCESS TO CASH
AND CREDIT AND
TO ONLINE
PURCHASING
 MAY LEAD TO
FINANCIAL CRISIS
DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-
4. TOO MUCH PRESSURE
ON OTHER FAMILY
RESOURCES
 TIME STRAINS
 MONEY STRAINS
DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-
5. PERSONAL PRIVACY MAY BE THREATENED.
DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-DRAWBACKS(Contd.)-
6. FAMILY LIFE MAY
BE THREATENED
a. HIGH TECH EQUIPMENT
DOES NOT ENCOURAGE
FAMILY INTERACTION
b. CONSTANT
COMPETITION FOR USE
OF THE TECH AT HOME
c. FAMILY TIME IS
REPLACED WITH
INDIVIDUAL TIME
SPENT WITH TECH
