The Future of Data: High-Value Data is the Next Big ThingHealth Catalyst
The data today’s healthcare leaders need to drive decisions is locked away in siloed source systems. As a result, health systems must devote significant time and expense to access the information they need to empower decision makers.
In today’s rapidly changing healthcare environment, leaders need to make decisions in hours and days— not weeks and months. And too often the requisite data to drive fully informed decisions is unavailable or inaccurate. Meanwhile, over the past 18 months, COVID-19 has increased the urgency for high-value data in decision making. In this webinar, TJ Elbert, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Data, will outline Health Catalyst’s strategy to empower leaders with the trusted, timely, high-value data assets the need to drive decision making and maximize value.
You’ll Learn How to:
• Reduce data acquisition time and cost with DOS Marts™.
• Lower barriers to access through data integration and normalization.
• Create high-value, reusable data assets with Expert Data Collections™.
• Drive insights into clinical workflows and analytics applications through DOS™ data-sharing capabilities.

Future of patient data global summary - 29 may 2018Future Agenda
We are witnessing a growing revolution around the provision of healthcare. Much is being driven by the proliferation of medical data and the technology that supports this. As the pressures on healthcare providers continue to escalate, the better collection, management and use of more patient-specific information provides a significant opportunity for innovation and change. The Future Agenda team made this, the Future of Patient Data, the focus of our major Open Foresight project for 2017/18 – 12 discussions across 11 countries, gathering views from over 300 experts.
This report shares the findings from the Future of Patient Data research project. It highlights several important emerging issues that are the source of major differences of opinion around the world. These include how to best accommodate rising data sovereignty concerns, the privatisation of health information and the growing value of health data. Some of the challenges and opportunities are technical in nature, but many are concerned with different ethical, philosophical and cultural approaches to health and how we treat the sick in society.

The Future of Artificial Intelligence and Quality Management in Hospitals By....Healthcare consultant
The medical device industry has noticed this factor and uses it to save lives. Artificial intelligence (AI) in the life sciences industry is capable of more than one could imagine and it’s changing the future. For example, one organization is creating AI-based voice robot technology, which, according to an article in Management Matters Network, will deliver custom prescriptive advice to managers using strengths and performance data to help better coach and engage employees.
Automated audit management has served as a great source of information to delve deeper into data with predictive intelligence regarding safety and compliance. Leading safety metrics provide:
• Total number of noncompliances
• Number of near-misses enabling investigation to prevent potential incidents
• The time it takes to complete post-audit corrective and preventive actions
• Easy-to-view previous findings for corrective action launches and findings
• Automated audit management software that centralizes all risk items and allows users to automatically assess them and generate reports quickly to pinpoint high-risk gaps that may otherwise go unnoticed

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Moving to this new patient paradigm also changes the way clinicians work requiring Health IT Solutions to also evolve to support this new paradigm. Information technology in Health is evolving beyond systems of record, to systems of insight and systems of engagement. Improving collaboration and communication is a critical component to successfully delivering proactive health, wellness and care in the new patient paradigm.
Microsoft has been working in the healthcare industry for more than 30 years and has nearly 170,000 enterprise customers, but our work started to change fundamentally when Satya Nadella took over as CEO. He sees the cloud and AI as transformative technologies for healthcare and has been a champion for our team to push the boundaries.
Talk about customers examples, Wins leading with outcome. Examples customers included but customize for your needs.
And it starts with enable personalized care. When patients are more informed about their healthcare—they have convenient access to their MI, receive evidence-based guidance and personalized support, they are more engaged in their health. e.g. providence st. joseph health - https://customers.microsoft.com/en-us/story/providence-st-joseph-health-provider-dynamics-365
Next empower care teams. Avg. is between 20 – 25 people,…when we give clinicians & admin ability to spend more time with pts by cutting through the clutter of their fragmented systems, they can communicate and collaborate much more effectively—and that’s when great things happen. e.g., Advocate Aurora Health https://customers.microsoft.com/en-us/story/advocate-aurora-health-provider-microsoft-teams Care
Improve operational outcomes. When your organization can harness data from internal and external sources they can accelerate diagnoses, reduce time-to-treatment and improve the overall operational efficiencies of your system. E.g., Australian Government Dept of Health - https://customers.microsoft.com/en-us/story/726945-australian-gov-dept-of-health-provider-dynamics365-finance-operations
Protect health information – Protect sensitive health data to support privacy and effective security end-to-end, manage compliance and evolving regulatory changes, and improve data governance and trust on a continuous basis. E.g.,

St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) looks to the cloud to define a new way of providing health services—free of the encumbrances of on-premises infrastructure and yesterday’s workplace tools. The health network, consisting of 10 hospitals and 300 sites across 10 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, has embarked on a digital health transformation journey using the Microsoft 365 productivity cloud to empower its 15,000 employees with intuitive tools that protect sensitive information, optimize health team collaboration, and improve patient experience.
Finally, reimagine healthcare. HC sys not the same in 5 yrs. Healthcare under massive transform. & we are working hand in hand with orgs, such as Eli Lilly, Kaiser Permamente and Walgreens, to completely reimagine how healthcare can be delivered and unlock future growth potential by augmenting system of records (EHR) and workflows, with systems of engagement and insights to empower better care at lower cost. E.g., WBA https://customers.microsoft.com/en-us/story/733091-walgreens-boots-alliance-pharmaceuticals-azure
This is something we are very focused on at Microsoft.
