To the future me:
Today in class we focused on learning styles as it applies to language acquisition.
We focused on multiple intelligences, age of the learners and learning styles,
among other things. Now it is time to evaluate my students.
First , I will use the lesson plans they had previously created: they will have to
adapt that lesson plan to a certain age group; second, they will have to include at
least three activities for different intelligences in that lesson plan and finally they
should watch videos of students doing oral performance and will have to classify
them according to the common European Framework.
We came to a conclusion, as Harmer did, that while this is important, all of our
classes will have a mix of learning styles and integrate activities that will respond
to various multiple intelligences; even though each student is important, it is the
group that we are teaching.
In the end, we want to give our TEFL students the confidence to exercise their own
autonomy when they plan their classes around this, based on the knowledge we are
imparting on them and their experiences in teaching EFL students. We feel up to
the task in giving our students this valuable knowledge.

  • 1. To the future me: Today in class we focused on learning styles as it applies to language acquisition. We focused on multiple intelligences, age of the learners and learning styles, among other things. Now it is time to evaluate my students. First , I will use the lesson plans they had previously created: they will have to adapt that lesson plan to a certain age group; second, they will have to include at least three activities for different intelligences in that lesson plan and finally they should watch videos of students doing oral performance and will have to classify them according to the common European Framework. We came to a conclusion, as Harmer did, that while this is important, all of our classes will have a mix of learning styles and integrate activities that will respond to various multiple intelligences; even though each student is important, it is the group that we are teaching. In the end, we want to give our TEFL students the confidence to exercise their own autonomy when they plan their classes around this, based on the knowledge we are imparting on them and their experiences in teaching EFL students.
