Gareth's daily routine varies on weekends and weekdays. On weekends, his son usually wakes him up around 8:30-9 am, then they have cereal and watch the same movie again. During the week, Gareth wakes up at 6 am to get ready for work, where he commutes for 1.5 hours each way and works until 7 pm, having dinner with his family after arriving home.
This approach combines teaching phrasal verbs as a thematic set and teaching phrasal verbs using a text. In this case the text is an oral text given by the teacher. The subject, a morning routine, is very likely to contain many phrasal verbs (get up, put on clothes…).

A verb is a word that indicates a physical action (e.g., “drive”), a mental action (e.g., “think”), or a state of being (e.g., “exist”). Every sentence contains a verb. Verbs are almost always used along with a noun or pronoun to describe what the noun or pronoun is doing.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

28. So, Gareth, what's your daily
routine like?
My routine is actually a little irregular. I
have a different working schedule for each
day of the week, but on a weekend my son
usually wakes me up about a half-eight,
nine o'clock, and after that we go
downstairs, and I get him some cereal, like
he likes at the moment chocolate rice
Krispies and he has a bowl of them and
29. Every weekend the same
movie?
Exactly. Again and again and again.
Yeah, so we watch it
a lot. On weekdays, though, I usually
wake up at six a.m. I have to go to work at
eight, so I commute on the bus and train
and that takes an hour and a half. It takes a
long time, and then I work. I get home about
sevenish. I have dinner with my wife.
Usually if I come home late, she waits and
30. Are you a morning
shower person or
a nighttime bath, relax
person?
Yeah, so actually I think I'm a
kind of night owl. I work much
better in the evening and I get more
done. In the morning I'm a little bit
like a zombie, but these last years,
working have kind of trained me to
be an early bird. Waking up so
31. So you would come home from
work and eat dinner and then
take like the bath to calm down
to go to bed at night?
No, actually I prefer showers
than baths, but yeah, I usually relax
with my family and watch a movie
or read a book. My son's really into
Dr. Zeuss books. They're classic
children's books from back home
and they're great. Even for me, like
that's the good thing about having
kids, you kind of get reattached to
32. What time does Gareth’s
son usually wake him up
