1. Needs Assessment for technology integration and TeachTown
A technology integration needs survey was conducted and distributed through the Cobb County School District Outlook during the
months of February and April 2014. Fifty ABA Teachers (grades K-5) took part in the multiple choicequestion survey. The questions
related to: school site (1), technology that they have access to (2), and various trainings pertaining to teaching, tools, and
collaboration (3).
The teacher’s responses were collected and entered into a Word Document by Lisa Witteman.
These data produced strengths and weaknesses while confirming the theory that experienced teachers have a positive response tonew
data collecting software and learning how to implement them and have a negative response to increased resource research and material
production.
Strength: A positive correlation between new technologies integrated software and teacher’s eagerness for training on the software.
Weakness: A positive correlation between an increase in resource research and material production.
The professional development need revealed through the data analysis was that;
A – The TeachTown program would yield positive outcomes if; team members could be able to access materials online to reduce time
on resource hunting
B - Teachers training should be based on prior knowledge of technology, software familiarity, and tool familiarity.
