The document compares the opening scenes of two films, a preliminary task and a final task. For the preliminary task opening, it shows only a radiator with no people, which does not effectively set the scene. The final task opening shows two characters, Tom and Chris, interacting, which better establishes the story and characters. Both openings lack audio, but the final task is improved by including human interaction and dialogue to engage the audience.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Task 7
1. In these two scenes they are both the opening scenes for both the prelim and final films, the similarities are
that they both are of objects and have no people in and another similarity is that it is used to give credit like
directed by or written by. The big problem with the picture on the left which is from the prelim task is that it
doesn’t really set the scene like it should do, all it is is a radiator and me as someone who would be in the
audience would be confused and I would be thinking that it is a mental asylum when I know it is not. The other
picture is a very good scene setter as it shows a house in where it looks like a scene were the sort of thriller
that was filmed would be set.
2. In these two shots of the prelim task and the final task the prelim task which is on the left had no human interaction
and no people in the whole film at all, this really gave it a deserted feel and let the audience feel like it was an
opening scene for something that had very little dialogue and human interaction with different characters. If I were
to look at this scene on the left from the prelim task I would think it would be a thriller which has characters that are
very secluded from society. The shots from the main task really give the feel like there are allot of characters
involved in this and that they are to go and come back from the time they met, they being Chris and Tom.
3. In these two scenes they are both the opening scenes for both the prelim and final films, and the shot on the left which is
from the prelim Arlington road task, the shot on the left is very bare and doesn’t really allow the audience to see the that it
was a thriller of that kind. However in the main task we had human interaction and dialogue of tom and Chris talking for the
first time, it really brings out a feel like the story is heavily based around the characters and what they have to give to the
story.
4. Question) what in your view are the films opening's main strengths?
Answers:
Group 1-Very good use of camera work.
Group 2- It was clear who the man characters were. The camera work is very good with
strong lighting and very good continuity.
Group 3- Good variety of shots and angles with excellent continuity.
Group 4-The titles were clear and good. Also there was a large variety of camera angles.
The whole plot seemed to make sense for a thriller genre.
5. Question)How do you think the film opening could be improved?
Answers:
Group 1- The use of audio in climatic points in the sequence.
Group 2- The added use of both sound and effects.
Group 3- Editing of the fight scene needs to be tighter, and include audio.
6. Q) Is it clear what the filmmaker(s) set out to achieve?
Answers:
Group 1- The narrative is not clear, may be due to lack of audio
Group 2- Not really, would be nice to know who "she" (the person the main character is
chasing for) is.
Group 3- In retrospect yes it is clear to some extent.
Group 4- Yes the narrative is very clear to us.
