Why might the IPC be appropriate to publish a new music
magazine?

• The IPC has published over 50 different tittles magazine
and have a lot of experience advertising for the right
target audience for a certain genre.
• They published many magazine, so they have a lot of
  knowledge what will sell well.
• Have published a well known magazine called NME.
• Also NME is a very famous magazine, the magazine was
formed in 1952 and has been hugely successful since,
therefore they have knowledge and understanding in
  the music industry.
What types of music magazines would they likely to publish?

• IPC already publish a well known magazine called NME. The genre of
the magazine is Indie/Rock therefore the company have already built up
a fan base for an audience who are interested in that kind of music.
• Many of there magazine are based for a female audience, therefore if
the genre of my magazine was “pop, hip hop or chart music” is would
be more targeted for women – and may attract many of there
  customers already.
• On the other hand as they have only ever published one other
magazine, they may not want to publish a different genre of music
magazine. NME is a rock magazine and have a specific target audience
and a different magazine may not be magazine which interests them.

magazine or radio competitors.
Would Bauer Be, be a better company to publish my music magazine?

In my opinion the answer is yes, this because the company publish a
wider range of genre in music magazines, such as:
• Indie
• Rock
• Pop
• Hip hop
They also publish to wider range of target audiences, therefore my
magazine would be more likely to interest a wider range of there
customers. The company have published magazines such as Kerrang
and Q, therefore they have more experience catering for different music
genres.

• However as they already have different genres in there music
magazines section of the company, they may find that a similar
magazine may not sell well as there would be competition and would
  not be profitable.
