Screen printing is a printing technique that started in 1910. It is
a technique where a mesh is used to copy ink onto a substrate,
except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking
stencil. It is involvesthe passing of ink or any printing medium
through a mesh or a screen that has been has elasticated and
stretched out.
The word lithography means to write and this a method
of printing that involves the mixing of oil and water. This
printing method is done from a stone or a plate that is
metal on a smooth of soft surface. This printing
technique can be used to copy and print text or art work
onto papers on suitable materials.
Linocut is a printing technique that involves using a knife to cut
into a sheet of linoleum. A design is usually cut into the surface
of the linoleum. Once this is done, the linoleum sheet is inked a
roller and embedded onto a paper or fabric.
Gravure printing is a printing technique that involves engraving an
image onto an image carrier. In this type of printing, the images are
engraved onto a cylinder and this rotates and is press on a sheet of
paper, while rotating.
Screen process is a printing technique that
includes silk screen. This is when ink is added
behind the image carrier and is squeezed
through open areas in the screen.
Laser printing is a printing technique that involves a computer being
connected to a printer. Once the printer is connected to the
computer it is able to createa pattern made up of dots, which
extract drink ink powder on to the piece.
Inkjet printing is printing that involves a computer. This type of
computer printing has a process where, a digital picture is remade
by droplets of ink dropping on plastic, paper or any other material.
