While the filmmakers felt their variety of shots and planned plot were good, they acknowledge the opening tried to fit too much of the complicated plot into the 2 minute timeframe and would have been better showing just a taste of the film rather than too much, including saving the chase scene for later to build more tension.
Task 7
In the preliminary task, the author struggled to use video editing applications and took a long time to work without editing footage. For the final video, the author felt more comfortable breaking rules like the 180-degree rule and being more creative with a wider variety of shots from experience gained. Over time and with more practice on the Apple Macs, the author was able to progress their skills from the preliminary task to the final video.

In someways, our character representationswere typically like other films within our chosen genre; there wasone character that was fullof more youth, which contrasted the other character who was older with more of a ‘snobby’personality. This is a shot from Shutter Island which is similar to our style of shot because they are close upsof the main characters faces in a partof the film which is tryingto build up tension for the audience. The main characters in our film and the main character in Shutter Island are both represented as a male role with a very determined personality; they are both investigating a situation to gain information.

Also the typical thrillers have a female character as the victim which is not clearly seen in this film as it is only the opening, the storylineis where a little girl gets abducted and her father tries to rescueher by searching for her. However it shows a typical representation of fathers as they are typically incredibly protective of their daughters.
