Celador Films is an independent British film production company founded in 1983 that is owned by Paul Smith and Jasper Carrott. They produce films with small budgets through co-funding partnerships. Some of their most successful and well-known productions include the TV game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Slumdog Millionaire, and The Descent films. Although a smaller production company compared to major studios like Sony Pictures, Celador has found greater box office success relative to its budgets with films like Slumdog Millionaire grossing $377.9 million on a $15 million budget.

Celador Films are a film company which were an independent
production company which began in 1983. Originally Celador
Films was owned by complete communications. They were first
set up as a t company not producing films, after a while they
grew and started to produce more in the film industry. In 2004
Celador films to legal action against Disney and sewed them as
they screened a program that they didn’t fully pay for. Celador
film company also own have works in the radio industry.

The operating model of Celador Films are a small film company
there two head body’s are Paul Smith (CBE) and Jasper Carrott.
Films like The Decent would have been produced by these
directors and actors firstly, Co-funding and partnership of the
company they make films together. Celador films would do
things such as project capitalization to get there funds. They
would then complete distribution fees. Celador could get funds
from businesses, so that they can feature there products in there
film from brands such as land rover and other brands they have
used.

Some of the well known and products they have produced are
the popular TV game show . They would have gone through
steps to get licensing for there film when producing there film.
So the companies office are funded also covering administrative
cost Who Wants To Be a Millionaire and others such as Slum
Dog Millionaire. Celador films being established in 1999 the
companies first production Dirty Pretty Things directed by
Stephen Frears, Separate Lies, The Descent, The Descent Part 2
and last of all the Scouting for Book Boys. Celador films also work
in film and radio.

Celador films are a successful but are very small scale production
company. There position in the market they are much more higher in
the film industry compared to some other film companies. Celadors
Slum Dog Millionaire gained $377.9 billion in box office off a budget of
15 million. DNA films as there film Dredd only made $41.5 million in
box office off a budget of $45 million. Another competitor is Film 4
who helped in the production of 12 Years a Slave which made $187.7
million off a budget of $22 million. Sony pictures helped to produce
Spiderman (2002) which made $821.7 million in box office. In
summary Celador made more in box office the Film 4 and DNA films
Sony’s Spiderman (2002) made 433.8 million as it is a Hollywood film it
would make much more as more of a budget is put into it. Celadors
position in the industry today, is that they are over companies like
Sony and DNA Films.
