Successes in Technology Technology has had a major impact on humansuccesses over the past
million years. Possibly the single most influential event in the public s interest when it comes to
science and technology, would be the Apollo II mission. The space field has had a major impact
and also has provided us with the ability to learn new technology and advance in our latest
technologies. Since the first man walked on the moon, science has advanced at a rapid pace;

Even though the research and discoveries that have been founded on other planets is significant,
it is a constant spending technology. On the psychology front, with individuals traveling in a
spacecraft for a number of days, a psychological program is necessary to keep astronauts
mentally fit to perform their duties. Pollution is a negative effect of transportation pertaining to
people. Transportation is responsible for over a third of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. Air
pollution causes a vast number of deaths each year. Not only, but car related accidents are
responsible for over 1.2 million deaths annually. Cars can also be held responsible for the increase
of individualism, since we no longer live within walking distance of hardly anything, communities
have become scattered and people are becoming cut off from one another, not interacting with each
other like they used to. Education in today s society is constantly changing with new technology.
Involving technology in education we are able to advance our ways of learning and knowledge.
Though sometimes technology and education doesn t make learning any easier. From my personal
experience when attending high school, being given the option to use a calculator in math class
turned out to be a downfall. Agricultural technology involve substances or processes that elaborate

On June 14th of 1946 Donald John Trump was born in, Queens, New York. Donald J. Trump
was the 4th of 5 children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. At age 13 Donald Trump

this would take his abundance of energy and make it more of a positive and mannerly energy.
Trump succeeded at the academy and became a star athlete and student leader. Trump graduated

According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large
segments of the Muslim population. , says Donald Trump. I would have to agree with Trump s
quote on stopping Muslims from coming into our country because if we stop the Muslims from
entering the country we should be able to control some of the terrorist threats and attacks that
have occurred. Another quote of Trump s that I agree with is, In the Middle East, we have
people chopping the heads off Christians, we have people chopping the heads off many other
people. We have things that we have never seen before as a group, we have never seen before,
what s happening right now. The medieval times I mean, we studied medieval times not since
medieval times have people seen what s going on. I would bring back waterboarding and I d
bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding. , stated Trump in a Republican Presidential
debate. The reason I agree with Trump on this topic is because if they want information from us
and just keep capturing our people and killing them than we should be able to send in some of our
armed forces and capture some of the Middle Easterners doing same and try to get information
from them, and if they don t want to talk to us torture is a good option because you can get the

The Dangers Of Freedom In The Film Under The Same Moon
Freedom is acquired through adversity. Adversity comes with fear. Many breakthroughs may
they be scientific, political, or social, have come about after overcoming adversity. Fear is
natural and expected when making decisions that will alter the future. But despite this fear,
breakthroughs are still possible. Every day, people are pushing at the boundaries of life to
expand general knowledge and to build better lives for them and their children. Some may say
that fear is a big enough threat to stop freedom. However, I assert that fear accompanies freedom
and every time freedom is established, no matter how insignificant, fear is overcame. When fleeing
from oppression or taking huge risks in life in hopes of obtaining physical or financial freedom,...

There are some who argue that when a woman decides to dress in a way that shows off her skin,
she is asking for negative attention from men. This reason is why the locker room behavior of
men is borderline accepted in primarily American culture. When women are told that the way
that they dress puts themselves in danger with men, it shames females into thinking that their
freedom to dress is less important because they have to worry about how they are going to be
treated. Though I concede that there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body
publicly, I still insist that a woman should be able to choose to wear what she wants without
being afraid of the consequences. After all, clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women
shouldn t have to be afraid because their freedom is more valuable than any man who would take
advantage of them. Being safe in this circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women
can wear clothes however they want and choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by
covering up. Another example that goes hand in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the
clear backpacks that students of Parkland High School in Florida are required to now use as a
result of the shooting in February. The freedom of these students is being taken away so that
teachers and administrators can ensure that the students are not

The Civil Rights Movement and the Kerner Commission Essays
The civil rights movement was a period of time when blacks attempted to gain their constitutional
rights of which they were being deprived. The movement has occurred from the 1950 s to the
present, with programs like Affirmative Action.
Many were upset with the way the civil rights movement was being carried out in the 1960 s. As a
result, someone assassinated the leader of the movement, Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. Many blacks were infuriated at this death so there were serious riots in
almost 100 cities. President Johnson then appointed a committee called The Kerner Commission to
study the civil rights movement. They concluded the following: We are moving toward two
societies one white and one black, separate and unequal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Because of this new political power they have obtained, blacks have the ability to elect other
blacks to represent them. There are over four times as many blacks in office today, than before
the movement. This helped the blacks because they could have a representative to speak for
them. A few years ago, a black named David Dinkins was elected mayor of one of the largest cities
in America, New York. In 1968,
Chrisam became the first black woman in the House of Representatives and in 1984, a popular
black leader, Jesse Jackson ran for president. All this is a success because one of their goals was
to have political power and equal opportunity. A second reason why the civil rights movement
was politically more of a success than a failure is due to the fact that blacks are better off in the
courts than they were. Now, blacks are allowed to serve on juries, and they are hardly ever
discriminated in court as opposed to when the boy was over sentenced for stealing an ice cream.
For example, O.J. Simpson, who was accused of killing his wife, received a fair trial and was let
off not guilty. In the 60 s in the south, he would have been found guilty very quickly.
In the economic sense, the Kerner report has some truth today, but overall the civil rights
movement was a huge success in this area because blacks are much better off today than they were
before the movement. Before the civil

How Did Elizabeth Bennet Change In Pride And Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice In Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen there were many scenes where she
made the characters go against what was expected and normal of the time period. Elizabeth Bennet
was the main character that went against society and the social norms the most. Elizabeth didn t
want to just marry someone with money and was handsome, she wanted someone to love and be
able to express herself around them. Jane wanted the same exact thing but in a way still followed
the social norms her mother, Mrs, Bennet, expected. Fitzwilliam Darcyhad his own idea on how a
woman should act and behave and Elizabeth went against all of that and in the end that was what
connected the two together in the end. Jane Austen used the novel to change stereotypes... Show

was admirable what she did just to see Jane. Elizabeth also wasn t looking for a wealthy husband,

Summary Of Buchi Emecheta s Novel Kehinde
Buchi Emecheta tells of a woman s search for independence in her book Kehinde. The story
begins as Albert and Kehinde Okolo have been living in London for 18 years as a couple. When
Albert s sisters begin pressuring him to return to Nigeria, Kehinde resists the idea as their two
children have never been to Nigeriaand plus the fact that she found out that she is pregnant. But
because of Albert s insistence, she decided to get an abortion. Albert then leaves and Kehinde
remains behind to sell the house which was ordered by her husband. Later on, he calls their
children also to Nigeria. Kehinde is lonely at first but manages on her own. Eventually, she
begins to feel like a half person without Albert and so she gives up her job and departs for
Nigeria. On her arrival, she is horrified to learn that during their two year separation, Albert now
has a second wife. Kehinde decides to return to England and establish a life for herself there.
Kehinde s troubled relationship to Albert and her children are paralleled in her recollections of a
difficult childhood: Kehinde s twin was stillborn and her mother died at birth, prompting the family
to believe that she had eaten her sister. It s a story that she at first accepts, but as she becomes her
own womanshe rejects its superstitious quality. Some of the themes of the story are Feminism,
Masculinity, Patriarchy, Culture Clashes and Identity.
Kehinde relishes the freedom she has as a woman living in Britain, a freedom she knows she
would not have had in Nigeria. Emecheta makes us very aware of this when she writes, Kehinde
was aware that she could talk to her husband less formally than women like her sister. She related
to Albert as a friend, a compatriot, a confidant. (page 6) However, with her son Joshua newly
returned from Nigeria with strong patriarchal values, Kehinde s freedoms as a woman are
challenged as Joshua sees the house as his natural right as a man. However, Kehinde is unwilling
to allow her son to dominate her. She asserts: This is my house. (137) The last few pages of the
novel emerge as a power play between mother and son. In fact the last chapter, where Kehinde and
her son fight for dominance over the house is aptly named The Rebel , as Kehinde

Destino And See You Again
Hitting the pain away or letting a person be free is a way to summarize the endings of Destino
and See You Again . The man in Destino picks up a ball of what used to be the ballerina s head
and hits it into the distance. The ball/head is used to symbolize the woman at the beginning of
the short film. Letting her go by hitting the ball away is the equivalent of the part of the song
describing how to carry on after a person is gone. Strength is needed to move on with life and
strength is needed to hit a baseball far away. The baseball player symbolizes the man on the
pyramid, reaching for the head at the bottom of the pyramid. He is also seen reaching for the
clock, which can be a way of asking for more time with the face at the bottom. The

Gun History Essay
Gun History/Development:
What is the history of guns and gun building throughout the world?
Over 43% of Americans own a gun for either sporting or protection ( 21 unbelieveable ). Guns have
been improved throughout many years and there are still many people making many improvements
yet today. The history and evolution of guns improved by the creators who made them and how the
improvements better helped the gun overall are some of the things you will find in this paper.
Some background of gunpowder started with a man named Berthold Schwarz. He was a German
monk who was the first to make gunpowder around the 1300s. He also invented the first gun which
wasn t technically a gun but a huge heavy cannon which used gunpowder to fire (Kevin 4). ... Show

After people got tired of dragging around a huge heavy cannon they then made a smaller handled
cannon but it was still very hard to aim because you had to hold it with one hand and light it with
the other (Supica, Jim). The Arquebuses were the first handheld gun that didn t need to be lit by
match or fuse. Also with the Arquebuse being able to be held with two hands and not having to lit
by hand made it way more accurate than earlier guns (14). The Arquebuse also greatly helped to
create the musket which had a better more advanced ignition system. The musket first began to
be used during the 1400s. Then muskets helped to design the flintlock (14). Also by the mid
1400s people began to develope handguns or pistols. By the 1500s people were able to make
pistol effective to about four feet. One bad thing was how long the pistols took to reload so they
then began to design and create the revolver (18). Then around 1833 the very first breech loader
was created. A breech loader is loaded from the back of the gun instead of the front making it a lot
quicker and easier to reload. Then shortly after in around 1840 they began to mass produce the first
revolver called the pepperbox (Supica,

Panera Bread Case Study: Rising Fortunes?
Executive Summary:
In 1993, AU Bon Pain Company purchased the Saint Louis Bread Company. In 1995, top
management at Au Bon Pain instituted a comprehensive overhaul of the newly acquired Saint
Louis Bread locations. The overhaul included altering the menu and the dining atmosphere. The
vision was to create a specialty cafe anchored by an authentic, fresh dough artisan bakery and
upscale quick service menu selections. This acquisition proved successful for Au Bon Pain.
Between 1993 and 1997, average unit volumes at the revamped locations increased by 75% and
over 100 additional locations were opened. In 1997, the bakery cafes were renamed Panera bread in
markets outside of St Louis.

The Problem Of Hip Hop Music
In the past 2 years alone, more than 3 dozen criminal prosecutions have had rap lyrics be
presented by the prosecutor as a vital piece of evidence in the case. [Manly] In many of these
cases the prosecutor will use violent lyrics created by the defendant to prove that that person is
inherently dangerous and in other cases, will use the lyrics as a direct confession to having
committed the crimein question. If you read into these cases you will notice a common theme
between them; the defense will claim that the lyrics are freedom of speech and should be
considered artistic expression, while the prosecutors will claim that the song is either a criminal
threat or has too many similarities to the actual crime that it should be considered a confession.
The primary basis for this debate is that hip hop music is a misunderstood cultural practice
because of the racial divide between the defendant and the criminal justice system. The
precedent for using rap lyrics as evidence can be traced as far back as 1994 in California, when
they were used to prove that Francisco Calderon Mora was a member of the Southside F Troop
gang. The prosecutor went on to say that since he was a member of the gang, Mora has the motive
and intent to commit the killing he was tried for. [O Connor] Since this case many prosecutors
through the years have started using lyrics as critical pieces of evidence in these types of trials.
Often using these pieces as evidence is unfair to the defendant because they

Introduction: AUV s are improving and technologically advancing to allow scientists and deep sea
researchers to explore the vast unknown of the underwater world. AUV s are automated underwater
vehicles that can explore bodies of water without the influence of an external control source.
Although AUV s have made much progression in the engineering world our research shows that
they still need improving. The engineering element is not the only aspect that goes into making

The large scale system of currents that carry large bodies of water globally throughout the world
is a major factor that has to be considered when the construction of an AUV is in effect. This
enormous system of currents is known as the global conveyor belt . Not only is the global
conveyor belt a huge importance to bear in mind, but also in which part of the global conveyor
belt will the AUV be exploring. The global conveyor belt is greatly affected by the thermocline
layer of the ocean. The thermocline layer of the ocean is between the deep water layer of the
ocean and the mixed water layer, which lies at the top of the sea near the surface. Based on which
layer of the ocean the water is in can induce many different properties such as temperature and
density and can influence different components of the global conveyor belt. Although the
thermocline layer of the ocean is a huge influence on the way the global conveyor belt flows, there
are many other factors that contribute to the natural movement of the large scale currents
(University of Illinois, 2010, n.p.). This widespread system of currents starts its cycle all the way
up in the North Atlantic near the North Pole. In the beginning of its cycle the water begins on the
surface of the ocean and is low in temperature due to the freezing conditions in the Northern

Economic Models after World War II
A widespread view developed among economists and policymakers in the early post World War II
period Import substitution policies were popular amongst developing economies was that the best
way for these countries to develop more rapidly was to stimulate industrialisation by adopting
import substitution policies. At the time, there seemed to be a number of good reasons for such an
approach. The policy makers of the newly independent nations were keenly aware not only that
most of the countries from whom they obtained independence had much higher per capita income
levels and were much more industrialised but that their former rulers had imposed economic
policies in the past which discouraged industrialisation within the new nations and industrialisation
seemed to offer the possibility of achieving faster growth, higher per capita income levels and the
economic and military power needed for national security. An economically sensible way of
achieving industrialisation seemed to be to restrict imports of manufactured goods for which there
already was a domestic demand in order both to shift this demand toward domestic producers and
permit the use of the country s primary product export earnings to import the capital goods needed
for industrialisation. There also appeared to be a number of examples where high levels of import
protection contributed positively to industrialisation. Although Great Britain had adopted a policy
of free trade during its period of rapid growth in the

Studying Diet, Immunization, and Infection of Our Ancestors
The Ted X Talk, Tracking ancient diseases using...plaque, with Christina Warinner as the speaker
focused on explaining one innovative way to move past the challenges associated with studying
diet, infection and immunity of our ancestors. Warinner is an archaeological geneticist at the Center
for Evolutionary Medicine at the University of Zurich. She studies how humans co evolved with
their environment, diets and diseaseby looking at the skeletal and mummified remains of ancient
humans. In her Ted X Talk given in Long Beach, California in March 2012 she provided
explanations for the difficulties researchers are faced with, the description of the new
implementation of Warinner and her team and the results that were found, Warinner shares with
others how the evolutionary history of health and human disease is being investigated.
To properly study the pathogens of the past, Warinner explained the different ways this is possible.
The first is by extracting human DNA from ancient bones to recreate the human genome. With this
process the goal is to highlight changes that result from risk factors, adaptations and inherited
diseases. She then stated, The most important health challenges today are not caused by simple
mutations in our genome, but rather result from a complex and dynamic interplay between genetic
variation, diet, microbes and parasites and our immune response (Warinner). Because we live in a
completely different environment today than the environment where our bodies

In both cases, drugs or alcohol was due to serious family problems, and they do it to get their

Since both meetings are so similar, there are things that I like and dislike about both. I like the
fact that it is a group effort to help one another because everyone there has the same problem, and
there are different ideas shared on how to overcome the addiction. It seems to me that everyone
is fine when they are together at the meeting, because by talking it takes their minds off of the
drugs or the alcohol. So the question that I am asking is when these people go back out into the
world, and the group is not there, and a problem occurs are they going to resort back to the
substance. Another thing that I really didn t like was the way they introduced themselves. I don t
agree with putting a title after your name, like I m an alcoholic. To me, that makes a person feel
lowly about him or herself, and they will go through life always feeling that they are an alcoholic
or a drug addict. I feel that that needs to be changed very badly. I think it should be Hi, my name
is Gino, and I am here because I have a drinking or a drug problem and I need help to overcome it.
So if that person overcomes it, they will say I accomplished something.

My Placement At Paul Donaghy Pharmacy
During my placement at Paul Donaghy Pharmacy a number of things became apparent about
how increasingly important pharmacists are in a community setting. Pharmacist are at the
frontline of the healthcare system, interacting with patients on a face to face basis everyday
allows for a number of key services to be administered, which can take pressure of other
healthcare professionals. Paul Donaghy Phamacy, is located in the centre of Dungannon which

available to patients, the most popular being smoking cessation, but it also offers weight
management, monitoring dosage, care homes, medicines use reviews for both respiratory and
diabetics and drug substitution therapy. the pharmacy had 10 patients on drug substitution
therapy, which doesn t seem like a large amount of patients when comparing with the numbers
on other advanced services, but this service comes with its own challenges. Most patients
availing of this service come from an underprivileged or deprived area, and are at the lower end
of the income spectrum or are on benefits. This brings with it a negative stereotype which as a
pharmacist can be tough to gauge and deal with. Counselling each of these patients brings a
challenge as I was able to observe on a daily basis as each patients dose was supervised daily.
Prior to starting the service each patient had to sign a contract before undertaking this service which

Abstract
According to the FBI (2007) the Beltway Snipers was a series of random murders that had
occurred around the Washington D.C. area during the month of October in 2002. The case was
closely studied and investigated by the Montgomery County Police Department and was led by
Chief Charles Moose with additional help from other government services such as the FBI. The
identities of these two men were discovered due to clues that were purposely left behind by the
perpetrators. Their names were John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo. During this time in
history, these two names were known to strike fear in people s hearts and make people think
twice about going outside and continuing their regular day to day activities. In the end, both of
Malvo and Muhammad were charged with life in prison, but Muhammad was also charged with
the death penalty. Today, only Malvo is still alive and now realizes the wickedness of the crimes

CHAPTER II
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Foot odor is a disease which is scientifically known as bromhidrosis sweaty and smelly feet.
While neither painful nor contagious, foot odor causes unmitigated social suffering to those
who are burdened with it. Under normal conditions each of your feet produces half a pint of
sweat by means by means of some 20,000 sweat glands. In most people, this perspiration
evaporates. In people with bromhidrosis, however , more sweat is produced, and it doesn t
evaporate as easily, which will result to odoriferous feet. In the presence of bacteria, these sweaty
secretions break down, generating a foul smell . Obviously washing away the bacteria and drying
very carefully can temporarily make your feet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jumbo Jet Research Paper
This paper dives into the architecting and design of the Boeing 747, the world s first jumbo jet.
The key architects of this colossal system will be introduced along with the system requirements
that led to the system design decisions of the 747. Major subsystems of the aircraft will be
examined, along with the legacy and future of the system today. Heuristics applied throughout
the architecting of the system as well as the numerous trade off analyses performed will be
explained as the paper progresses. Introduction In today s world, air travel is seen as just another
transportation method available to the traveling public. It is possible for anyone to fly almost
anywhere they d like, usually with many options of which airline to fly with. Traveling by air is
not too expensive for the typical traveler either, considering most domestic flights only cost a few
hundred dollars and international flights usually cost around a thousand dollars. This relatively

The aircraft had the capability to hold up to 366 passengers in a 3 class configuration and
transport those passengers 5,300 nmi at a speed of up to Mach 0.89. Jetting into the air was the
six story high tail of the aircraft, and just as impressive was its nearly 200 ft wing span. The
weight of the aircraft was 358,000 pounds, and it had a maximum takeoff weight of 735,000
pounds. Each of the four original Prate Whitney engines had 46,500 pounds of force. Key

of the first people involved was Juan Trippe, the President of Pan Am Airlines. Pan Am Airlines
was the dominate international airline in the 1960 s and was experiencing an increase in airline
traffic of 15% per year (Van Doren). Trippe decided that to meet the demand, the company would

after four hours. Also, by having customer pay during the packing period (2 minutes), we would
circumvent time wasted in the pay period (1minute). 1 (extra credit). Working alone wouldn t
impact the first order. But in case of 2 orders in a row, the second order would be 2 minutes

after mixing and spooning I would have to wait 1 minute before loading and baking the second
order. It would then delay continuously the next orders. 2 (extra credit). We would be offset by 2

Obstacles. Everyone has been forced to overcome them at some point in their life. These
obstacles have shaped everyone and helped them become the person they are today. Challenges
are a part of life and everyone will face them at some point in their life, but it is how people handle
it that determines their future. This idea can be seen in many pieces of text including the following
poems. Invictus by William Ernest Henleyand The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac both
convey the idea that obstacles are important in everyone s life and help shape everyone as a person
on the way to their dream.
Through Invictus William Ernest Henley shows that if people did not run into obstacles in their
life, no one would know who they truly are. The use of imagery shows this theme in that it
allows the readers to feel and see the pain that the writer is going through. For example, William
Henley says, I have not winced nor cried aloud./ my head is bloody, but unbowed (6 8). This
device is being used to demonstrate the difficult journey that the author was given to go on, in
order reach his dream and be in control of their life. It shows the theme of this poem because it
speaks about the low points in a person s life and about how by not giving in they become
stronger. This device also shows that though they have been beaten down multiple times they refuse
to be broken. Another device that Henley uses is diction. He uses this device to stress the
importance of different words

Mid Air of PSA Flight 182 and its Impacts on U.S. Aviation

Abstract
This paper reviews the tragic mid air crash of PSA flight 182 and Cessna N7711G a Cessna 172
over San Diego and its resulting FAA rules and regulation changes, and their affect on the U.S.
aviation industry. PSA Flight 182s mid air resulted in the most sweeping FAA changes to airspace

type.

a possible aircraft conflict. The controller subsequently ignored the alarm because he felt that
since PSA flight 182 had acknowledged having the Cessna in sight and the controller felt that
the aircrew of PSA flight 182 was meeting their requirement of visual separation, notification was
not required in his opinion. The controller did try to notify the Cessna that PSA 182 had them in

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the mid air was primarily the fault of the
PSA aircrew for failing to maintain visual separation and not informing the tower that they had lost

Examples Of Forbidden Love In A Midsummer Night s Dream
The Theme of Love in A Midsummer Night s Dream
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind. And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
Though she be but little, she is fierce! Love remains the dominant theme in A Midsummer Night s
Dream. Shakespeare utilizes the concepts of forbidden love and magic and throughout the play. An
example of forbidden love occurs when Hermia disobeys her father and elopes with Lysander,
going against Athenian Law. She deserts Demetrius, the man her father chose for her. Magic also
presents itself throughout the story, when the characters travel in the fairies forest. Shakespeare
utilizes various types of love in A Midsummer s Night Dream to support the theme of love.
At the beginning of the play, the author showcases forced love between Hippolyta and Theseus,
and Demetrius and Hermia (Pyros). Theseus says in Act I, I wooed thee with my sword, to
portray that he won her with his sword as in the battle to win her love, implying that she marries
him, only because he won a battle. Another example of forced love includes Hermia and
Demetrius. According to Athenian law, a daughter must obey her father at all costs, or risk being
killed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Egeus has a strict hold on his daughter and his family. He believes that he knows what benefits
his daughter; therefore, he chooses Demetrius to marry her. Despite having all the qualifications
that Demetrius has, Lysander holds no favor. He expresses this in Act I, I am, my lord, as well
derived as he, as well possessed. My love is more than his. My fortunes every way as fairly
ranked, (If not with vantage) as Demetrius . He thinks that Lysander fakes his love for Hermia,
sending her fictitious love letters, songs, and presents. All of the heartache and unnecessary drama
Egeus causes, derives from his love for Hermia. He only wants the best for her, even if it means

Abu Ghraib Human Rights Violations
In our ever transparent world where our actions as a nation are continuously scrutinized, it is
exceptionally important that we begin to strengthen our group mentality when it comes to
international relations. As a powerful and resourceful nation, we have a lot to offer the international
community. Instead of embarking on our own humanitarian missions, we could be more effective
by strengthening institutions like the United Nations or the International Monetary Fund. The
United Statesseems to particularly enjoy acting from a position of perceived moral superiority; even
after the egregious human rights violations that took place at Abu Ghraib (Walt, S, 2011). The

rebels with weapons to fight the leftist Sandinista and over 30,000 people were killed with neither

significantly better. Granting that hindsight is 20/20, it is a fair conclusion to say that had the US
not been so hasty to solve the problem singlehandedly and involved more likeminded institutions or

Differences And Classification Of Depalma And Cautilli
Classification
DePalma and Cautilli first emphasized the difference between fractures with and without
dislocation of the joint surfaces. Neer subsequently modified and emphasized this fracture type in
his classic four part classification scheme.
Codman in 1934 was the first to observe that there were four major fracture fragments when a
proximal humerus fracture occurred, and that these occurred in varying combinations depending on
the mechanism of injury . These fragments were the articular head, the greater and lesser
tuberosities, and the humeral shaft.1,2,122
Kocher s classification
He classified proximal humerus fractures based on anatomical level of fracture 1. Supratubercular
2. Pertubercular 3. Infratubercular 4. Subtubercular
Disadvantage of this system is that it doesn t allow for multiple fracture at different level , nor does
it differentiate displaced from undisplaced fractures , which require different management .

Rationalization is when the reason for a certain behavior is for one other than the real reason.
Identification is when a characteristic from someone that we see as a role model or behavior
comes to play in our own lives. Amir shows rationalization in two scene. The first one was when
he saw Hassan get raped in an alleyway after a kite fighting competition was over. Hassan was
walking home and was caught in an alleyway by a bully named Assef. Amir decided that he
wanted the kite, his reasoning for not butting in was that he could get hurt and then would not
get the kite, which is basically a trophy. The second scene that Amir showed rationalization was
when Amir planted his birthday money and his new watch under Hassan s bed. Amir went to
Baba and Baba asked if Hassan had stolen his gifts. Hassan knew that if he said no that Baba
would trust him and Amir would get in trouble. Hassan was a loyal friend and didn t allow him
to get in trouble so he said yes and Baba was quick to forgive him of theft. Amir showed
rationalization because his reasoning for hiding his gifts was so that it could be the last time
Hassan would sacrifice for him, in the end, Amir felt worse because he was upset that Baba
would forgive the worst sin there is, and didn t understand why Baba couldn t forgive him for
not being the son he always wanted. The last Psychological defense mechanism Amir shows in
the book is identification. He shows this when He shows his loyalty to Sohrab. Amir grasped his
loyalty from Hassan while they were friends, he realized that he showed share the same respect
by paying him back, even though Hassan and his wife were killed before he was ever able to he
showed his loyalty to Hassan s son by going to save him from an orphanage in Afghanistan to bring

Same Sex Marriage Should Be Legal Essay
Individuals are in complete control of their own happiness, except when it is forbidden by the
law. Prior to June 16th, 2015, thirty seven of the fifty states provided their citizens with the right
to marry the opposite sex and thirteen states did not condone this behavior among their citizens.
Having equal rights for all people in America has the potential to boost the psychological and
spiritual growth of our economy through individual happiness. All people deserve the right to
express themselves as individuals, even if that means that they want to be married to someone
who is the same gender as them. In September of 2014, two elderly ladies, over the age of ninety,

War was and is a threatening idea in our society. Lives are lost. Families are heartbroken. And
people around the world still haven t grasped the concept that war causes more war. Yet, several
wars in our past led to something greater. Three wars that have had a major impact on the way we

The American Civil war took place in the early 1860s. During the presidential election of 1860,
Republicans opposed slavery and the expansion of slavery in to U.S territories. The Republican
Party was mainly situated in the north. But the cotton producing, southern states embraced slavery

Mary Wigman
Isadora Duncan and Mary Wigman both started with the same idea of dancing, and how they should
incorporate human movement instead of ballet that was more unnatural to the body. Even though
they had a similar thought about modern dance, they had one thing that made them very different,
which was their choreography. Duncan pieces were lively and upbeat, and Wigmans were dark and
mysterious. They both approached modern dancethrough a different eye. Even if they lived in two
different parts of the world, The American, as represented by Isadora Duncan, and the German, as
represented by Mary Wigman, (Cass 247), the world would then get two different choreographers

Dance Its a burlesque play of bodies, limbs, and heads. At first a crowded, tangled heap, it starts
vibrating slowly in ever increasing elastic and shaking movements, dissolves and darts out to the

Bottled Water Bottles In The United States
In the United States, it is estimated that humans consumed an average of 400 billion gallons of
water every day, while some countries can barely survive with the water they currently have. It is
also estimated that over 780 million people don t have access to clean safe water and have to rely
on other sources to survive. The main source for clean water is consuming plastic water bottles.
While there are many pros to purchasing and consuming bottled waterthere many cons and

Some would say that there is music all around, in commercials, in movies, in tv shows, even in
grocery stores. There are many ways to listen to music, various streaming apps such as Spotify,
pandora, YouTube, all of these sites allow people to stream artists music for free. It has been said
before that someone has founded their favorite song in a commercial or in a bizarre place that
surrounds many human lives. Although a group of the population does not agree with this tactic of
publicity. In fact a few artist have taken the right of publicizing their musicon streaming apps due to

Family Genogram Analysis
According to Bowen Family Systems Therapy, a healthy family functioning has low anxiety, high
levels of differentiation of self, and contact with family members. However, problems occur when
there are underlying problems of emotional fusion passed from generation to generation and the
amount of stress exceeds familys ability to manage it. Patterns are meant to solve the problem of
anxiety. Most commonly a genogram is used, which allows others to see emotional bonds between
people involved and the clients learn to think systemically to explore their own contribution to
conflict (Nichols Davis, 2016). Analyzing my genogram, can give me a better understanding of how
the emotional system operates in my family system.

The War Of Weapons Of Mass Destruction
In excess of 600 billion dollars has been spent on the war in Iraq since it began in 2003, plus over
four thousand U.S. troops have died because of this war, and despite a struggling economy the
US government is keeping our troops in Iraq with no end in sight. The war in Iraq is a current
military operation that began, without a declaration of war, on March 20, 2003 and is still taking
place today in 2009(Thompson). Americans have been shielded from this war and have forgotten
why we went to war in the first place. Thus clarification is needed by the American public on why
the invasion on Iraqwas baseless, how the mismanagement is affecting our soldiers and what the
overall end result could be. Prior to the war, the governments of the United Statesand the United
Kingdom declared Iraq was suspected to possession weapons of mass destruction and this posed
an imminent danger to our security and our allies. The American public was led to believe that
Saddam Hussein had significant stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction and was equipped to
use them. Following the terror of September 11th by al Qaeda, the American public was
apprehensive of another vicious attack, and President Bush used this fear to justify his revenge
on Saddam Hussein. These weapons were one of the key reasons the public believed why we
were going to war in Iraq; however, in six years no such weapons have been located. Furthermore,

Sullivan lawsuit, the plaintiff, which would be Marques Johnsons, would have to provide proof of

In addition, Marques Jonson s case can also be connected to Curtis v. Butts lawsuit. Just like
Waller Butts, Johnson was wrongfully named in an incident that occurred. The Butts case is

Argumentative Essay On 2016 Elections
Every four years one person makes history. This one person we will remember for the rest of our
lives because they are the president of the United States. It all starts with the election. The election
shows us who we will be voting for and what they stand for. I m lucky enough to participate in this
2016 election. I m so excited to partake in a part of history. One thing about this election is that I
have strong different feelings about the two biggest candidates, Hillary and Trump.
Hillary belongs in prison. There are no ifs or buts about it, she committed a crime so she should do
the time. There is a huge list of the crimes Hillary potentially committed; including conspiracy,
bribery, obstruction of justice, fraud by wire, and more. She did a lot of the crimes Martha Stewart
did, but unlike Martha, Hillary didn t got away with it. That is absolutely against what us, United
States, stands for. Just because Hillary is running for president, that means she can commit crimes
and get away with it? What is our world coming to? We have these laws and for what? So
everyone has to follow them but our president or not even president, but candidate? Anyone that is
a criminal should not be loud to run for the United States. Hillary s crimes aren t the only thing I

need to worry about our people before others, we should be pro life and not pro choice, and we

This is all against what Hillary stands for and that is why I will never vote for Hillary Clinton.
But that is not the only reason why, I will also not be voting for her because she is a criminal and

exploitation of workforce would be one of the effective ways to enhance productivity within limited

Humans, Androids, And Humanity By Philip K. Dick
Humans, Androids, and Humanity People have different perspectives on humanity. Some may
believe that their actions are humane; whereas, others may not. Philip K. Dick portrays that
humanity is a relative characteristic that is interpreted by the presence or absence of some qualities;
overall, it is one s character that defines one s humanity. Empathy is the ability to understand and
feel what another being is experiencing. It exist[s] only within the humancommunity (Dick 30).
When John Isidore finds a spider, Pris Stratton snips off its legs (206). Pris, being an android, does
not show any empathy towards the spider. From the perspective of the human, Pris does not portray
any sign of humanity because she is not empathic. However,

Pregnant With Pcos
Can I get pregnant with PCOS?
There are many conditions women can develop that will make it harder for them to conceive. One
of the most common condition is PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. To learn if you are able to
become pregnant when you have this condition, it is first important to learn more about the
condition.
What is it?
PCOS is a condition that creates small cysts on a woman s ovaries. In many instances, these cysts
are developed because a woman s hormones are out of balance. The symptoms that women face
when they have PCOS will vary. For example, some women may develop acne or have trouble
maintaining a healthy weight.
However, one of the most common issues that women face when they have PCOS is struggling to
have a regular menstrual cycle. When you are not able to ovulate regularly, it is extremely difficult
for you to become pregnant. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To do this, you should use either a basal thermometer or an ovulation predictor kit. Both of these
items are extremely easy to use and will help you determine when you are ovulating.
Tracking your ovulation cycle has a couple of different benefits for women who are suffering
from PCOS. First, it helps you to determine if your treatment is working because it will let you
know if you start ovulating. Also, it can help make it easier for you to conceive because you will
know when the best time to have intercourse is. When you test positive for ovulation, you should
begin having intercourse every other day for several days.
Women with PCOS are able to become pregnant fairly frequently. Usually, with treatment, a
woman should be able to become pregnant just as she would without this type of condition.
However, there are some women who are never able to conceive when they have PCOS. The best
way to determine what your specific chances of conceiving are is to talk with your doctor about your

Turmoil At Tiananmen, And The Tiananmen Square Incident Or...
Turmoil at Tiananmen The Prodemocracy Movement, the Bloody Massacre in Tiananmen
Square, and the Tiananmen Square Incident or Massacre are just a few of the names of the
protests that went wrong that began in April 1989 and came to an upsetting end in June 1989.
The citizens of China had wanted a political form for a long time, but did not know how and
when to start. The protests started when a favored government official died. Shortly after,
Mikhail Gorbachev visited Communist China, and everyone was jealous of the relationship he
had with his people. The protesters went on a hunger strike because they wished they had
leaders like Gorbachev. This gained the support of many people, and eventually there were over
one million people camped out in Tiananmen Square asking for a change in their corrupt
government. The government officials got very angry and send out an army to use against their
own people. A great deal of people died and a ton were injured. Because the media was able to
cover a majority of everything that happened, everyone around the world saw it, and it changed
their thoughts of the Chinese government. The Tiananmen Square Massacre ruined China s
international image throughout the world. Tiananmen Square is located in Beijing, China and it
is also known as the Gate of Heavenly Peace (Kort 9). Built and designed originally in 1651, the
square was enlarged to cover 100 acres. Ever since this expansion, Tiananmen Square is the biggest
public square in the world.

however, that it can stay in your system longer than you are actually under the high. (Armentano,

According to a Cato Institute study done by Jeffery Miron and Katherine Waldock discussed the
impact to the budget if the government were to legalize drugs and to end the prohibition of the
substances. The study estimates that approximately 41 billion would be saved by the
government while drug legalization would see an increase in revenue of about 43 billion
dollars. (Miron, 2010). In order to come up with these numbers they looked at the amount of
people getting arrested for drug use and found that 82.5 percent of all drug related arrests were
only for simple possession and of those 82.5 percent of arrests 42.1 percent were just for people
arrested for marijuana. (Miron, 2010) However, if the United States were to just legalize
marijuana, it would still reduce the prison rates and would still bring in close to 20 billion dollars
in saved and earned revenue from the legalization. It seems to me that the most fiscally responsible
governmental action people can take is to legalize the sale and use of

The role of the World Wide Web is observable not only in statistics, but also more visibly in

Although there are many well defined laws and precedents for how to handle invading a persons
private life, the laws for monitoring private digital life are much more gray. While intercepting

History and Development of Internet Privacy
What is the perception of privacy and anonymity online relies greatly on understanding the history
and development of the issue. From 1967, when the Internet was born, until the mid 1990s, privacy
was a non issue. There was no advertising, no security measures apart from log ins, no spam and,
until 1989, no graphic interfaces, no icons, images, windows, etc.

globalization is rapidly turning the world as we know it into economic opportunity waiting to be

The powered milk became such a commodity that the local produce dairy farms couldn t sell
their milk. A memorable scene in the film was when the dairy farmers had to spill out all their
surplus milk that was only a days worth to make room for new milk since it wasn t being
consumed. A dairy farm used to produce 3,000 quarts per day and after America subsidized the
milk industry, dairy farms were producing only about 600 liters. Dairy farmers were run out of
their businesses and it s sad to say but some dairy farmers were forced to convert to butchering
their cows in order to make profit (Black).
The Jamaican economy in 1970 was 800 million dollars in debt and by the time of the year 2000
the debt had reached an alarming 7 billion dollars. In order to service its accumulated debts
Jamaica set up Exporting Processing Zones or EPZ s. The free zones created lots of
employment to jump start the economy. The free zones themselves were separate entities to
Jamaica, similar to the US owned cemetery for the WW2 soldiers in Normandy. In this way, the
supplies needed for manufacturing never really enter Jamaica, thus allowing for cheap imports.
The factories had their downsides though. Workers were only paid in Jamaican dollars about
30USD per week while some were paid that for two weeks. Every two weeks, money was taken out
as taxes which angered the Jamaicans

Module 1 Assignment SUCCESSES IN TECHNOLOGY Successes in Technology Leah Andersen Allied American University Author Note This paper was prepared for SOC250, Module 1 Homework Assignment taught by Instructor Jesse Kleis. Successes in Technology Technology has had a major impact on humansuccesses over the past million years. Possibly the single most influential event in the public s interest when it comes to science and technology, would be the Apollo II mission. The space field has had a major impact and also has provided us with the ability to learn new technology and advance in our latest technologies. Even though the research and discoveries that have been founded on other planets is significant, it is a constant spending technology. On the psychology front, with individuals traveling in a spacecraft for a number of days, a psychological program is necessary to keep astronauts mentally fit to perform their duties. Pollution is a negative effect of transportation pertaining to people. Transportation is responsible for over a third of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. Air pollution causes a vast number of deaths each year. Not only, but car related accidents are responsible for over 1.2 million deaths annually. Cars can also be held responsible for the increase of individualism, since we no longer live within walking distance of hardly anything, communities have become scattered and people are becoming cut off from one another, not interacting with each other like they used to. Education in today s society is constantly changing with new technology. Involving technology in education we are able to advance our ways of learning and knowledge. Though sometimes technology and education doesn t make learning any easier. From my personal experience when attending high school, being given the option to use a calculator in math class turned out to be a downfall. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population. , says Donald Trump. I would have to agree with Trump s quote on stopping Muslims from coming into our country because if we stop the Muslims from entering the country we should be able to control some of the terrorist threats and attacks that have occurred. Another quote of Trump s that I agree with is, In the Middle East, we have people chopping the heads off Christians, we have people chopping the heads off many other people. We have things that we have never seen before as a group, we have never seen before, what s happening right now. The medieval times I mean, we studied medieval times not since medieval times have people seen what s going on. I would bring back waterboarding and I d bring back a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding. , stated Trump in a Republican Presidential debate. The reason I agree with Trump on this topic is because if they want information from us and just keep capturing our people and killing them than we should be able to send in some of our armed forces and capture some of the Middle Easterners doing same and try to get information from them, and if they don t want to talk to us torture is a good option because you can get the information without killing ... • 6. The Dangers Of Freedom In The Film Under The Same Moon Freedom is acquired through adversity. Adversity comes with fear. Many breakthroughs may they be scientific, political, or social, have come about after overcoming adversity. Fear is natural and expected when making decisions that will alter the future. But despite this fear, breakthroughs are still possible. Every day, people are pushing at the boundaries of life to expand general knowledge and to build better lives for them and their children. Some may say that fear is a big enough threat to stop freedom. However, I assert that fear accompanies freedom and every time freedom is established, no matter how insignificant, fear is overcame. When fleeing from oppression or taking huge risks in life in hopes of obtaining physical or financial freedom,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are some who argue that when a woman decides to dress in a way that shows off her skin, she is asking for negative attention from men. This reason is why the locker room behavior of men is borderline accepted in primarily American culture. When women are told that the way that they dress puts themselves in danger with men, it shames females into thinking that their freedom to dress is less important because they have to worry about how they are going to be treated. Though I concede that there is no reason to show off inappropriate areas of the body publicly, I still insist that a woman should be able to choose to wear what she wants without being afraid of the consequences. After all, clothes are just clothes. My main point is that women shouldn t have to be afraid because their freedom is more valuable than any man who would take advantage of them. Being safe in this circumstance is purely outrageous when the fact that women can wear clothes however they want and choose their freedom over the safety that is ensured by covering up. Another example that goes hand in hand with freedom to wear what is chosen is the clear backpacks that students of Parkland High School in Florida are required to now use as a result of the shooting in February. The freedom of these students is being taken away so that teachers and administrators can ensure that the students are not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Civil Rights Movement and the Kerner Commission Essays The civil rights movement was a period of time when blacks attempted to gain their constitutional rights of which they were being deprived. The movement has occurred from the 1950 s to the present, with programs like Affirmative Action. Many were upset with the way the civil rights movement was being carried out in the 1960 s. As a result, someone assassinated the leader of the movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Many blacks were infuriated at this death so there were serious riots in almost 100 cities. President Johnson then appointed a committee called The Kerner Commission to study the civil rights movement. They concluded the following: We are moving toward two societies one white and one black, separate and unequal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of this new political power they have obtained, blacks have the ability to elect other blacks to represent them. There are over four times as many blacks in office today, than before the movement. This helped the blacks because they could have a representative to speak for them. A few years ago, a black named David Dinkins was elected mayor of one of the largest cities in America, New York. In 1968, Chrisam became the first black woman in the House of Representatives and in 1984, a popular black leader, Jesse Jackson ran for president. All this is a success because one of their goals was to have political power and equal opportunity. A second reason why the civil rights movement was politically more of a success than a failure is due to the fact that blacks are better off in the courts than they were. Now, blacks are allowed to serve on juries, and they are hardly ever discriminated in court as opposed to when the boy was over sentenced for stealing an ice cream. For example, O.J. Simpson, who was accused of killing his wife, received a fair trial and was let off not guilty. In the 60 s in the south, he would have been found guilty very quickly. In the economic sense, the Kerner report has some truth today, but overall the civil rights movement was a huge success in this area because blacks are much better off today than they were before the movement. • 8. How Did Elizabeth Bennet Change In Pride And Prejudice Pride and Prejudice In Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen there were many scenes where she made the characters go against what was expected and normal of the time period. Elizabeth Bennet was the main character that went against society and the social norms the most. Elizabeth didn t want to just marry someone with money and was handsome, she wanted someone to love and be able to express herself around them. Jane wanted the same exact thing but in a way still followed the social norms her mother, Mrs, Bennet, expected. • 9. Summary Of Buchi Emecheta s Novel Kehinde Buchi Emecheta tells of a woman s search for independence in her book Kehinde. The story begins as Albert and Kehinde Okolo have been living in London for 18 years as a couple. When Albert s sisters begin pressuring him to return to Nigeria, Kehinde resists the idea as their two children have never been to Nigeriaand plus the fact that she found out that she is pregnant. But because of Albert s insistence, she decided to get an abortion. Albert then leaves and Kehinde remains behind to sell the house which was ordered by her husband. Later on, he calls their children also to Nigeria. Kehinde is lonely at first but manages on her own. Eventually, she begins to feel like a half person without Albert and so she gives up her job and departs for Nigeria. On her arrival, she is horrified to learn that during their two year separation, Albert now has a second wife. Kehinde decides to return to England and establish a life for herself there. Kehinde s troubled relationship to Albert and her children are paralleled in her recollections of a difficult childhood: Kehinde s twin was stillborn and her mother died at birth, prompting the family to believe that she had eaten her sister. It s a story that she at first accepts, but as she becomes her own womanshe rejects its superstitious quality. Some of the themes of the story are Feminism, Masculinity, Patriarchy, Culture Clashes and Identity. Kehinde relishes the freedom she has as a woman living in Britain, a freedom she knows she would not have had in Nigeria. Emecheta makes us very aware of this when she writes, Kehinde was aware that she could talk to her husband less formally than women like her sister. She related to Albert as a friend, a compatriot, a confidant. (page 6) However, with her son Joshua newly returned from Nigeria with strong patriarchal values, Kehinde s freedoms as a woman are challenged as Joshua sees the house as his natural right as a man. However, Kehinde is unwilling to allow her son to dominate her. She asserts: This is my house. (137) The last few pages of the novel emerge as a power play between mother and son. In fact the last chapter, where Kehinde and her son fight for dominance over the house is aptly named The Rebel , as Kehinde ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The man in Destino picks up a ball of what used to be the ballerina s head and hits it into the distance. The ball/head is used to symbolize the woman at the beginning of the short film. Letting her go by hitting the ball away is the equivalent of the part of the song describing how to carry on after a person is gone. Strength is needed to move on with life and strength is needed to hit a baseball far away. The baseball player symbolizes the man on the pyramid, reaching for the head at the bottom of the pyramid. Over 43% of Americans own a gun for either sporting or protection ( 21 unbelieveable ). Guns have been improved throughout many years and there are still many people making many improvements yet today. The history and evolution of guns improved by the creators who made them and how the improvements better helped the gun overall are some of the things you will find in this paper. Some background of gunpowder started with a man named Berthold Schwarz. He was a German monk who was the first to make gunpowder around the 1300s. He also invented the first gun which wasn t technically a gun but a huge heavy cannon which used gunpowder to fire (Kevin 4). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After people got tired of dragging around a huge heavy cannon they then made a smaller handled cannon but it was still very hard to aim because you had to hold it with one hand and light it with the other (Supica, Jim). The Arquebuses were the first handheld gun that didn t need to be lit by match or fuse. Also with the Arquebuse being able to be held with two hands and not having to lit by hand made it way more accurate than earlier guns (14). The Arquebuse also greatly helped to create the musket which had a better more advanced ignition system. The musket first began to be used during the 1400s. Then muskets helped to design the flintlock (14). Also by the mid 1400s people began to develope handguns or pistols. By the 1500s people were able to make pistol effective to about four feet. One bad thing was how long the pistols took to reload so they then began to design and create the revolver (18). Then around 1833 the very first breech loader was created. A breech loader is loaded from the back of the gun instead of the front making it a lot quicker and easier to reload. Then shortly after in around 1840 they began to mass produce the first revolver called the pepperbox (Supica, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Problem Of Hip Hop Music In the past 2 years alone, more than 3 dozen criminal prosecutions have had rap lyrics be presented by the prosecutor as a vital piece of evidence in the case. [Manly] In many of these cases the prosecutor will use violent lyrics created by the defendant to prove that that person is inherently dangerous and in other cases, will use the lyrics as a direct confession to having committed the crimein question. If you read into these cases you will notice a common theme between them; the defense will claim that the lyrics are freedom of speech and should be considered artistic expression, while the prosecutors will claim that the song is either a criminal threat or has too many similarities to the actual crime that it should be considered a confession. The primary basis for this debate is that hip hop music is a misunderstood cultural practice because of the racial divide between the defendant and the criminal justice system. The precedent for using rap lyrics as evidence can be traced as far back as 1994 in California, when they were used to prove that Francisco Calderon Mora was a member of the Southside F Troop gang. The prosecutor went on to say that since he was a member of the gang, Mora has the motive and intent to commit the killing he was tried for. [O Connor] Since this case many prosecutors through the years have started using lyrics as critical pieces of evidence in these types of trials. Design An Auv At Record The Lives Of Deep Sea Organisms To: Professor Martin, WTSN 104, Section 57 From: Ryan O Connell Date: February 7, 2015 Re: Research Paper #1 Problem Statement: Design an AUV to record the lives of deep sea organisms. Introduction: AUV s are improving and technologically advancing to allow scientists and deep sea researchers to explore the vast unknown of the underwater world. AUV s are automated underwater vehicles that can explore bodies of water without the influence of an external control source. Although AUV s have made much progression in the engineering world our research shows that they still need improving. The engineering element is not the only aspect that goes into making AUV s, but also comes with a variety of other factors including the region in which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The large scale system of currents that carry large bodies of water globally throughout the world is a major factor that has to be considered when the construction of an AUV is in effect. This enormous system of currents is known as the global conveyor belt . Not only is the global conveyor belt a huge importance to bear in mind, but also in which part of the global conveyor belt will the AUV be exploring. The global conveyor belt is greatly affected by the thermocline layer of the ocean. The thermocline layer of the ocean is between the deep water layer of the ocean and the mixed water layer, which lies at the top of the sea near the surface. Based on which layer of the ocean the water is in can induce many different properties such as temperature and density and can influence different components of the global conveyor belt. Although the thermocline layer of the ocean is a huge influence on the way the global conveyor belt flows, there are many other factors that contribute to the natural movement of the large scale currents (University of Illinois, 2010, n.p.). This widespread system of currents starts its cycle all the way up in the North Atlantic near the North Pole. In the beginning of its cycle the water begins on the surface of the ocean and is low in temperature due to the freezing conditions in the Northern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Economic Models after World War II A widespread view developed among economists and policymakers in the early post World War II period Import substitution policies were popular amongst developing economies was that the best way for these countries to develop more rapidly was to stimulate industrialisation by adopting import substitution policies. At the time, there seemed to be a number of good reasons for such an approach. The policy makers of the newly independent nations were keenly aware not only that most of the countries from whom they obtained independence had much higher per capita income levels and were much more industrialised but that their former rulers had imposed economic policies in the past which discouraged industrialisation within the new nations and industrialisation seemed to offer the possibility of achieving faster growth, higher per capita income levels and the economic and military power needed for national security. An economically sensible way of achieving industrialisation seemed to be to restrict imports of manufactured goods for which there already was a domestic demand in order both to shift this demand toward domestic producers and permit the use of the country s primary product export earnings to import the capital goods needed for industrialisation. There also appeared to be a number of examples where high levels of import protection contributed positively to industrialisation. Although Great Britain had adopted a policy of free trade during its period of rapid growth in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Studying Diet, Immunization, and Infection of Our Ancestors The Ted X Talk, Tracking ancient diseases using...plaque, with Christina Warinner as the speaker focused on explaining one innovative way to move past the challenges associated with studying diet, infection and immunity of our ancestors. Warinner is an archaeological geneticist at the Center for Evolutionary Medicine at the University of Zurich. She studies how humans co evolved with their environment, diets and diseaseby looking at the skeletal and mummified remains of ancient humans. In her Ted X Talk given in Long Beach, California in March 2012 she provided explanations for the difficulties researchers are faced with, the description of the new implementation of Warinner and her team and the results that were found, Warinner shares with others how the evolutionary history of health and human disease is being investigated. To properly study the pathogens of the past, Warinner explained the different ways this is possible. The first is by extracting human DNA from ancient bones to recreate the human genome. With this process the goal is to highlight changes that result from risk factors, adaptations and inherited diseases. She then stated, The most important health challenges today are not caused by simple mutations in our genome, but rather result from a complex and dynamic interplay between genetic variation, diet, microbes and parasites and our immune response (Warinner). There were young people, and middle aged people. Some of them I never would have expected that they were alcoholics or drug addicts. Both meetingsseemed to be very similar to me. So the question that I am asking is when these people go back out into the world, and the group is not there, and a problem occurs are they going to resort back to the substance. Another thing that I really didn t like was the way they introduced themselves. I don t agree with putting a title after your name, like I m an alcoholic. These obstacles have shaped everyone and helped them become the person they are today. Challenges are a part of life and everyone will face them at some point in their life, but it is how people handle it that determines their future. This idea can be seen in many pieces of text including the following poems. Invictus by William Ernest Henleyand The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Tupac both convey the idea that obstacles are important in everyone s life and help shape everyone as a person on the way to their dream. Through Invictus William Ernest Henley shows that if people did not run into obstacles in their life, no one would know who they truly are. The use of imagery shows this theme in that it allows the readers to feel and see the pain that the writer is going through. For example, William Henley says, I have not winced nor cried aloud./ my head is bloody, but unbowed (6 8). This device is being used to demonstrate the difficult journey that the author was given to go on, in order reach his dream and be in control of their life. It shows the theme of this poem because it speaks about the low points in a person s life and about how by not giving in they become stronger. And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind. Though she be but little, she is fierce! Love remains the dominant theme in A Midsummer Night s Dream. Shakespeare utilizes the concepts of forbidden love and magic and throughout the play. An example of forbidden love occurs when Hermia disobeys her father and elopes with Lysander, going against Athenian Law. She deserts Demetrius, the man her father chose for her. Magic also presents itself throughout the story, when the characters travel in the fairies forest. Shakespeare utilizes various types of love in A Midsummer s Night Dream to support the theme of love. At the beginning of the play, the author showcases forced love between Hippolyta and Theseus, and Demetrius and Hermia (Pyros). Theseus says in Act I, I wooed thee with my sword, to portray that he won her with his sword as in the battle to win her love, implying that she marries him, only because he won a battle. Identification is when a characteristic from someone that we see as a role model or behavior comes to play in our own lives. Amir shows rationalization in two scene. The first one was when he saw Hassan get raped in an alleyway after a kite fighting competition was over. Hassan was walking home and was caught in an alleyway by a bully named Assef. Amir decided that he wanted the kite, his reasoning for not butting in was that he could get hurt and then would not get the kite, which is basically a trophy. The second scene that Amir showed rationalization was when Amir planted his birthday money and his new watch under Hassan s bed. Amir went to Baba and Baba asked if Hassan had stolen his gifts. Hassan was a loyal friend and didn t allow him to get in trouble so he said yes and Baba was quick to forgive him of theft. Prior to June 16th, 2015, thirty seven of the fifty states provided their citizens with the right to marry the opposite sex and thirteen states did not condone this behavior among their citizens. Having equal rights for all people in America has the potential to boost the psychological and spiritual growth of our economy through individual happiness. All people deserve the right to express themselves as individuals, even if that means that they want to be married to someone who is the same gender as them. In September of 2014, two elderly ladies, over the age of ninety, who have been in love for over seven decades, were finally legally allowed to get married. They had been together for seventy four years while traveling the world and falling in love. Same sex marriageis harmless, and now that is it legal nationwide, people should learn to accept others despite their sexual preferences. Same sex marriage has been a controversial topic in the United States for years now. There are many people in the United States that despise other people who are interested in the same sex. Researchers have found that gay people are three times as likely to have depression or thoughts of suicide due to discrimination. • 36. Mary Wigman Isadora Duncan and Mary Wigman both started with the same idea of dancing, and how they should incorporate human movement instead of ballet that was more unnatural to the body. Even though they had a similar thought about modern dance, they had one thing that made them very different, which was their choreography. Duncan pieces were lively and upbeat, and Wigmans were dark and mysterious. They both approached modern dancethrough a different eye. Even if they lived in two different parts of the world, The American, as represented by Isadora Duncan, and the German, as represented by Mary Wigman, (Cass 247), the world would then get two different choreographers that were evolving at the same time in history, which impacted the dance history.... One of the works that basically describes Wigman as a whole is the Witches Dance Its a burlesque play of bodies, limbs, and heads. At first a crowded, tangled heap, it starts vibrating slowly in ever increasing elastic and shaking movements, dissolves and darts out to the floor in somersaults and grotesque jumps... The demon in the human who had worn a tragic mask in so many of Mary Wigman s dances now wore a comical mask, as if his dark and dangerous power had been conquered, (Stewart and Armitage 13 14). Once you go in deeper into why Wigmans pieces are so different compared to Duncan you start looking at the bigger picture of how Germany was doing at the time, with the whole World War I (1914 1918) and the beginning of Hitler s upraise in the 1930 s leading to World War II (1939 1945) this was all during the time frame of Wigmans life.
