Applications of Differential Equations in Petroleum EngineeringRaboon Redar
In modern science and engineering, differential equations are very important. Nearly all known physics and chemistry laws are indeed differential equations. Engineers, in order to investigate systems behavior, it is virtually necessary that they are able to model and solve physical problems with mathematical equations.
Thermal Simulation of Biogas Plants Using Mat LabIJERA Editor
The major prerequisite for the optimum production of methane from a biogas plant is the sustenance of digester temperature within the narrow limits (300C-350C). It is experimentally investigated that, the MIT biogas plant is not maintaining optimum temperature, this decreases the efficiency and increases the detention time for charge. To maintain the plant in optimum temperature, it is necessary to find out the heat losses from the biogas plant and the external energy inputs need to operate the plant. Rate of gas yield, and the detention time (time necessary to anaerobically digest organic wastes) in a biogas reactor, are favorable functions of the temperature in the digester. A thermal simulation for MIT biogas plant has developed using matlab in order to understand the heat transfer from the slurry and the gas holder to the surrounding earth and air respectively. The computation has been performed when the slurry is maintained at 200C and 300C, optimum temperature of anaerobic fermentation. If the slurry is considered to be at 350C, the optimum temperature of anaerobic fermentation, the total heat loss from the plant is higher than the heat loss when the slurry is maintained at 200C. The heat calculations provide an appraisal for the heat which has to be supplied by external means to compensate for the net heat losses which occur if the slurry is to be maintained at 350C. A solar system with auxiliary electric heater is designed for maintaining the slurry at 350C.In conclusion; the results of thermal analysis are used to define a strategy for operating biogas plant at optimum temperatures.

Mhd effects on non newtonian micro polar fluid with uniform suctioneSAT Journals
Abstract In this present work, the problem of heat and mass transfer on the flow of Non-newtonian micropolar fluid with uniform suction/blowing with heat generation, radiation, thermophoresis and chemical reaction effects are studied. The non-linear partial differential equation arising from the flow modeling were transformed into coupled non linear ordinary differential equations and subsequently solved by using the implicit finite difference method. The effect of relevant thermo physical parameters such as material parameter K, suction parameter A, heat generation/absorption parameter B, Prandtl number Pr, radiation parameter R, thermophoretic parameter τ, chemical reaction parameter δ , magnetic parameter Ha and Schmidt number Sc are also being numerically investigated and analyzed. Keywords: MHD, micro polar fluid, heat generation, thermophoresis, radiation and finite difference scheme.
Effects of Thermal Radiation and Chemical Reaction on MHD Free Convection Flo...IJERA Editor
This paper analyzes the radiation and chemical reaction effects on MHD steady two-dimensional laminar
viscous incompressible radiating boundary layer flow over a flat plate in the presence of internal heat generation
and convective boundary condition. It is assumed that lower surface of the plate is in contact with a hot fluid
while a stream of cold fluid flows steadily over the upper surface with a heat source that decays exponentially.
The Rosseland approximation is used to describe radiative heat transfer as we consider optically thick fluids.
The governing boundary layer equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations using
similarity transformations, which are then solved numerically by employing fourth order Runge-Kutta method
along with shooting technique. The effects of various material parameters on the velocity, temperature and
concentration as well as the skin friction coefficient, the Nusselt number, the Sherwood number and the plate
surface temperature are illustrated and interpreted in physical terms. A comparison of present results with
previously published results shows an excellent agreement.

Thermodynamics II course taught at air university Islamabad by Sijal Ahmed. In this lecture we have discussed about the gas-gas mixtures in very much details including how to find out the different thermodynamics properties for mixtures.
The main purpose of this paper was to investigate an experimental and theoretical analysis of
heat and moisture transport behavior in wood during convective drying process. A convective drying
cell was used to follow the measurements of the water content of samples subject to hot air flow in
longitudinal and transverse moisture transfer of wood. The effects of drying conditions such as
drying air temperature, air velocity and ambient relative humidity on the drying characteristics of
wood has been investigated. The constants drying and diffusion coefficients of the drying model,
which control the drying rate of wood, were determined from fitting the model against the
experimental drying curves. Results showed that, drying kinetic behaviour of the longitudinal
diffusion is very significant than the transverse one. The moisture content increased with increase in
drying air temperature and air velocity but decreased with time. From the curves of moisture flow
evolution versus moisture ratio, convective heat and mass transfer coefficients have been evaluated
and compared with values obtained from the literature and existing correlations.

It consists of cw radar and fmcw radar ,range measurement,if amplifier and fmcw altimeterThe CW radar operates using continuous wave transmission, while the FMCW radar employs frequency-modulated continuous wave technology. Range measurement is a crucial aspect of radar systems, providing information about the distance to a target. The IF amplifier plays a key role in signal processing, amplifying intermediate frequency signals for further analysis. The FMCW altimeter utilizes frequency-modulated continuous wave technology to accurately measure altitude above a reference point.
Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
