Swot presentation
1. Market Life.
My first idea is called Life In The Market. This documentary will be about
myself exploring the business and cultural side of working and being a
part of market life. This will involve aspects of culture, lifestyle, diversity
and food. Marketers who works on various stalls are of different
ethnicities, have and have grown up with different lifestyles and come
from diverse cultures. But they all have one thing in common. They all
work in one place trying to sell their products. I will also be exploring the
competitiveness of various stalls owners who battle for customers.

3. Dark Is Lovely.
My second idea is called Dark is
lovely .This documentary will be based
on Colourism in the black ethnic group
and how dark skin girls are perceived
differently to light skin females.
4. Strengths Weaknesses
- Idea is very specific and detailed.
- Idea is unique as it is uncommon.
-Interesting idea to focus on that gives insight on how girls
of different complexions are perceived and how it affects
there life.
-Research helped make the idea both educational and
interesting.
-Has historical content as it dates back to the slavery era.
-Relates to the presenter as she is a dark skin black girl
herself.
-Good focus on positivity and negativity
-Good interview ideas.
-Relevant topic
- People are not aware of Colourisim so its good that light is
shed on this topic.
-Specific experts have not been identified.
-Target audience is quiet broad
-Hard to appeal to everyone.
-People may identify this as racism if the definition of
Colourism is not provided enough
- People may confuse this with racism
-Females of lighter complexions are not being identified.
Opportunities Threats
-Capturing cutaways of types of colour and races.
-Capturing cutaways of black people of all skin tones.
-Research campaigns that address this issue.
-Ask older generations for there opinion on the topic of
Colourism.
-Hidden camera of peoples reactions.
-Events of controversy
-Certain shots of girls may make them look objectified and
people may want to speak on this.
-Girls may be shown as just a sexual object.
-The public may not feel comfortable to speak on the issue
of Colourisim.
-May be a lot to cover
- Personal opinions may offend the audience.
5. This documentary is about physical features that males
think they need to obtain to define them as man
including height, beards, muscles and pressures from
females.
What it takes to be a man ?
6. Strengths Weaknesses
-Insightful to speak about male insecurities as the focus in
the media is mainly about females.
-Good primary and secondary research.
-Males do have a view on this topic
-Aspects are strong to explore.
-Good focus points in terms of beards, height and pressures
from females.
-Very current and relevant issue
-Body image being explored in a different way.
-This subject does not include what young males think
-Topics explored are to typical
-Why is the focus on males when females image is as equally
important ?
Opportunities Threats
-Interview men with muscles, beards, height. And how these
physical features make them feel.
-Could interview male gym goers.
-Could interview females on there perception of males that
are physically built.
-Getting archive footage on YouTube of men who have
taken substances.
-Focus both on the positive and negatives of features.
-Visuals of men and women on a date, capturing what
‘females look for in a male’.
-Will the males be given an opportunity to speak on this
topic ?
-Men that may be interviewed from Vox pops who do not
obtain these physical features may be offended.
-Which expert and what type of expert will you be
interviewing ?
-If a male has poor body image there vulnerability needs to
be taken into consideration.
-Females watching may be sensitive due to there opposing
personal preferences.
7. Summary
This documentary is
about why people decide
to send sexual texts,
images or videos. This
documentary focuses on
what is the motivation
behind sexting and if
people think it is a
harmless if they consent
to it or if it is a bad idea.
8. Strengths Weaknesses
-Current and relevant to the target audience as it would
appeal to them.
-Good approach to the situation to explore why people
engage in Sexting.
-Interviewing PC Darren is good as legal consequences are
appealing to my audience.
-Factual topic as well as opinions.
-New aspect of social media being explored.
-How would this idea be achieved safely without misleading
my audience.
-This idea has been explored many times
-this idea may be communicated to the audience informally.
-People may not take this idea serious as the subject has no
ending message to Sexting and if it should be continued or
not.
-This subject may be covered to much in the past
Opportunities Threats
-Interview of a person who engages in Sexting and the
reasons why they do it.
-Getting the publics views on their thoughts on Sexting.
-Could interview young people that are in relationships and
their take on it.
-Very sensitive issue so must be carefully explored as people
could easily be offended.
-How would it be put forward without coming across as
comical or disrespectful.
People who engage in the activity of sexing may refrain from
admitting they do so.
-Could become very negative if not explored properly.
-Graphics used could send a comical message to the
audience, distracting them from the seriousness of the
topic.
-How will vulnerable people be protected
-What unique aspect will make this documentary visually
interesting.
