1. Music Producer Music producers must be able to
write, arrange, produce, and record
songs, whether they’re shaping the
sound of another artist’s album or
creating beats or songs for their own
projects
Music producers must be able to
have time management skills. This is
because they will be creating and
producing songs for many different
artists. There time must be managed
properly as they have to be able to
multitask between many different
responsibilities. Music producers
must be able to judge and make
decisions. For example when
choosing between two songs they
must be able to consider the
benefits and drawbacks of one song
compared to the other, eventually
narrowing there choice to one.
Music producers must apply critical
thinking. They must be able to use
there logic and reasoning to identify
strengths and weaknesses of any
record they produce. A music
producer must be hardworking.
There work ethic will be tested as
they will be kept busy producing
various records for artists.
A music producer start off being
freelance technicians. They are
likely to take a course in music at
there chosen colleges or
universities. Once they have
gained a qualification they can
start producing work for
underground artists and work
there way up from then onwards.
Music Director
Responsibilities of a music director
includes being able to coordinate,
develop and supervise music
programs. These are orchestras
bands, choirs or symphonies. Music
directors must be able to select the
right people to recruit and train
them. They must be able to direct
band members at rehearsals. Music
directors must also be able to
interpret the work of composers for
productions.
Music directors must be able to
have performance skills. Music
directors must be knowledge of the
instruments as well as experience as
a performer so that they are able to
understand aspects from a players
point of view. This helps with
coordination.
A music director can start from
specialising in playing an
instrument such as the violin.
Once they have gained
experience from playing an
instrument they can advance
onto learning how to coordinate
at musical festivals and
orchestras.
