stalls owners who battle for

This documentary is also a
way to raise awareness of
how customer relationships
are established.

The purpose of this documentary is to cover all
the aspects of life inside of a market.
This documentary aims to show the business side
of stock available for purchase but also what
being in the market means to the customers as
well as the employees who work there.
I want to make this documentary because I feel
like market life has never been explored in all its
entirety.
I would also like to give market stall owners and
workers a chance to tell their story and what the
market means to them.
Length
This documentary will be 8 minutes.
This is due to the fact that I have four
subjects to touch on branching from
the idea of life in the market.
I will split each subject evenly so
they would have the duration of two
minutes each adding to a total of
minutes.
Research
I conducted my primary research through the
use of a questionnaire asking if people thought
there was enough focus on market life.
6 out of 10 answered no.

Dark Is lovely.
There is a stereotypical view of black males viewing dark
skin girls less attractive as they would view a light skin
girl.
In this documentary I want to address this issue and hear
from the public if they think this view is true or not.
I will be exploring three topics in this documentary.
This is the use of makeup and stereotypical views of light and
dark skin girls from a males perspective and how girls of either
complexions are presented in the media.
What is Colourism ?
“Colourism is prejudice or discrimination against
individuals with a dark skin tone, typically amongst
people of the same ethnic or racial group.”
My second idea is called Dark is lovely .
This documentary will be based on Colourism in the
black ethnic group and how dark skin girls are perceived
differently to light skin females.
COLOURISM
The intended target audience for this documentary is for black women of any complexion. My intended target
audience is from ages 12-30.
The secondary target audience is black men of any complexion. My secondary audience is from 12-30.

 Archive footage/photos of Darkskin females and Lightskin females. As well as them in music
videos. (Eg young Dolph –royalty)
 Interviews- I will be interviewing girls that have been judged due to the colour of there skin. I will
interviewing black activists and experts on racism to discuss the issue of Colourism.
 Astons will be used to identify characters from the public, experts and locations.
 I will be using graphics such as speech bubbles and bold text to illustrate emotions in informal and
funny moments.
 Vox pops – I will be filming voxpops of males from the public asking there opinions on light and
dark females.
 Non diagetic sound- I will be using slow and poignant music instrumentals during moments of my
documentary to put emphasis the seriousness of the topic.
 Diagetic sound- Natural sound from my documentary.
Purpose
Why am I documenting this ?
I am documenting this idea because I feel like the
issue of Colourism is not addressed enough within
the black ethnic group.
There is a stereotypical view of dark skin girls being
classified as ‘ugly’ or ‘ less attractive’ because they
are not light enough.
Why is this subject so important to me ?
This subject is important to me because I personally
feel beauty shouldn't be based on complexion it
should be based on how you are as a person.
Primary Research
Focus group.
I held a focus group talking about the issue of light and dark skin girls and why dark skin girls
get judged more. Two of my participates said:
“ dark skin girls get judged more due to the skin tone because darkness is associated with
negativity but light is associated with positivity”
“ When I think of darkness I think of evil and the devil. But when i think of light I think
goodness and Jesus”.

and doctors I will be interviewing
to show there profession.

manner as they need to be able to
identify with the people in the

about whether they think having certain
physical features defines them as a man. As
well as asking females too !

 I held a focus group asking what features they feel they have to define them as a man.
Participates said:
 “I feel like I have to have muscles and a beard to define me as a man because they feature show my masculinity and
without these I don't feel like a male.”
 “ I would rather be built. I want girls to find me sexy and appealing when I approach them”

The length of this documentary will be six
minutes long. This is because I want it to be as
concise as possible without my audience
loosing focus of what this documentary is
about.

The purpose of this documentary is to
let my audience understand the true
essence of sexting.
This documentary aims to inform the
audience that sexting may seem
harmless but also has serious
consequences to it.
This idea is important to me as I am a
young adult also influenced by the
motion of social media.
The length of this documentary is going to be five minutes long.
This is because for the first minute I will explaining what sexting is so my audience is able to understand why they
should tune into this documentary.
The rest of the documentary will contain voxpops, facts and interviews about the subject.

For this topic I held a focus group
discussing the issue of sexting
and if it is a bad idea. From my
focus group participates said :
“ I don’t think sexting is wrong
because if two people more than
happy with being sexually
expressive with one another then
it is clear they have both
consented to sharing text
messages , images or videos.
“ In my opinion sexting is wrong
because once you send
something inappropriate you
have no control of how far it may
travel via social media, which my
cause exposing and humiliation.

  • 3. Brixton market and Balham market. We are now his loyal customers due to his excellent customer service and quality of his products. My First Idea Is Called Life In The Market. This is a perfect example of how diverse market life is and the traits market workers tend to adapt to due to their customers. Marketers who works on various stalls are of different ethnicities. I will also be exploring the competitiveness of various stalls owners who battle for customers. This documentary is also a way to raise awareness of how customer relationships are established.   • 4. Target Audience. The intended target audience for this documentary is people of both genders from the ages of 16+ . The secondary target audience for this documentary will be people of both genders A market is diverse and multicultural . Market life would appeal to my audience because I will be exploring daily operations within a market.

  • 8. The purpose of this documentary is to cover all the aspects of life inside of a market. This documentary aims to show the business side of stock available for purchase but also what being in the market means to the customers as well as the employees who work there. I want to make this documentary because I feel like market life has never been explored in all its entirety. I would also like to give market stall owners and workers a chance to tell their story and what the market means to them.
  • 9. Length This documentary will be 8 minutes. This is due to the fact that I have four subjects to touch on branching from the idea of life in the market. I will split each subject evenly so they would have the duration of two minutes each adding to a total of minutes.
  • 10. Research I conducted my primary research through the use of a questionnaire asking if people thought there was enough focus on market life. 6 out of 10 answered no.
  • 13. There is a stereotypical view of black males viewing dark skin girls less attractive as they would view a light skin girl. In this documentary I want to address this issue and hear from the public if they think this view is true or not. I will be exploring three topics in this documentary. This is the use of makeup and stereotypical views of light and dark skin girls from a males perspective and how girls of either complexions are presented in the media. What is Colourism ? “Colourism is prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically amongst people of the same ethnic or racial group.” My second idea is called Dark is lovely . This documentary will be based on Colourism in the black ethnic group and how dark skin girls are perceived differently to light skin females. COLOURISM
  • 14. The intended target audience for this documentary is for black women of any complexion. My intended target audience is from ages 12-30. The secondary target audience is black men of any complexion. My secondary audience is from 12-30.
  • 15. StyleThe style of this documentary is going to be Participatory and reflexive This documentary will be based on more opinions than facts. Informal Personal opinions will be stated. During Cutaways , facts or opinions about Colourism will be narrated through voiceovers. It will be a mixture myself being a presenter and participate led. This is because Colourisim is a real issue that affects people. All voiceovers will be done by myself.

  • 17. Conventions  Voiceovers will be done by myself during cutaways.  Archive footage/photos of Darkskin females and Lightskin females. As well as them in music videos. (Eg young Dolph –royalty)  Interviews- I will be interviewing girls that have been judged due to the colour of there skin. I will interviewing black activists and experts on racism to discuss the issue of Colourism.  Astons will be used to identify characters from the public, experts and locations.  I will be using graphics such as speech bubbles and bold text to illustrate emotions in informal and funny moments.  Vox pops – I will be filming voxpops of males from the public asking there opinions on light and dark females.  Non diagetic sound- I will be using slow and poignant music instrumentals during moments of my documentary to put emphasis the seriousness of the topic.  Diagetic sound- Natural sound from my documentary.
  • 18. Purpose Why am I documenting this ? I am documenting this idea because I feel like the issue of Colourism is not addressed enough within the black ethnic group. There is a stereotypical view of dark skin girls being classified as ‘ugly’ or ‘ less attractive’ because they are not light enough. Why is this subject so important to me ? This subject is important to me because I personally feel beauty shouldn't be based on complexion it should be based on how you are as a person.
  • 19. Primary Research Focus group. I held a focus group talking about the issue of light and dark skin girls and why dark skin girls get judged more. Two of my participates said: “ dark skin girls get judged more due to the skin tone because darkness is associated with negativity but light is associated with positivity” “ When I think of darkness I think of evil and the devil. But when i think of light I think goodness and Jesus”.
  • 21. This documentary will be six minutes long. There will be three subjects I will be exploring. Makeup, Stereotypical views and the medias representation of black skinned complexions Each topic will have the duration of two minutes. Length
  • 22. What Does It Take To Be A Man ?
  • 23. What does it take to be a man ? This documentary will be about features that males may think assembles them as a person and the expectations that females look for within a male. These are: Muscles ? Steroids ? Height Beard ? The pressures of trying to please females?
  • 24. Target Audience The primary target audience for this documentary will be males aged 16+ The secondary target audience will be females 16+ WHY ?
  • 25. Mode of Address. The mode of address for this documentary will be presented informally. I will be interviewing males and females who are young and may be accustomed to speaking in ‘slang’. Style Informal as peoples opinions will be stated. People wont be dressed smartly in my video apart from the experts and doctors I will be interviewing to show there profession. The audience needs to be to able to see my documentary in this manner as they need to be able to identify with the people in the documentary.

Interviews- I will be interviewing males about whether they think having certain physical features defines them as a man. As well as asking females too ! Participates said:  “I feel like I have to have muscles and a beard to define me as a man because they feature show my masculinity and without these I don't feel like a male.”  “ I would rather be built. I want girls to find me sexy and appealing when I approach them”

Article about a man constantly injecting himself with a substance to get bigger with a desire to look like a monster.

Vox pops – I will be filming voxpops of males from the public asking there opinions on sexting and if it’s a bad idea. Non diegetic sound- I will be using upbeat instrumentals due to my young target audience. Diegetic sound- Natural sound from my documentary.
  • 36. The purpose of this documentary is to let my audience understand the true essence of sexting. This documentary aims to inform the audience that sexting may seem harmless but also has serious consequences to it. This idea is important to me as I am a young adult also influenced by the motion of social media.

This is because for the first minute I will explaining what sexting is so my audience is able to understand why they should tune into this documentary. The rest of the documentary will contain voxpops, facts and interviews about the subject.
  • 38. Primary research. For this topic I held a focus group discussing the issue of sexting and if it is a bad idea. From my focus group participates said : “ I don’t think sexting is wrong because if two people more than happy with being sexually expressive with one another then it is clear they have both consented to sharing text messages , images or videos. “ In my opinion sexting is wrong because once you send something inappropriate you have no control of how far it may travel via social media, which my cause exposing and humiliation.
