2. Idea 1: Element of employment
• In this project, I am choosing to merge more than just one element of employment in my
project; this is so my video covers more of the topic than other videos naturally would
• I believe its good for me to cover more than one area as it will save the viewer the time of
having to search “YP employment” for additional videos for other areas. Also; it allows my
video to fit all the information needed to give someone in 5 minutes rather than boring them
on one topic on things they may or may not already know.
• Elements chosen to look over is:
- How to dress for an interview
- What job Possibilities/career there are for young people
- Do’s and Don'ts in an interview
I have chosen these elements because these are 3 elements which can determine whether an
individual gets the job they’re applying for. Although the area of do’s and don’ts are a
common area to explore, people still tend to forget how to conduct their selves in the event
of an interview; this is why I am aiming to explore this area of employment
3. Element of employment
• I got this idea from the videos we where shown during class and the secondary research I had
conducted during my free time. It is an original idea as videos usually give snippets of
information leaving the viewer questioning the next step of employment. My video being
preferably longer than other productions allow the viewers the options of pausing and
playing the video at the areas they need rather than wasting time looking for further
information from a video that might not even be reliable.
• I have a USP for my production in comparison to other videos; this is because my production
is going to use the theme of a montage. Making my project a montage or compilation allows
me to attack each element/area differently. Attacking an element differently allows my
audience to receive a different experience , viewing and atmosphere from each aspect.
People are attracted to different things; having my montage follow different themes of
different moods, allow me to attract more than one audience and to keep the audience
intrigued in the video they’re watching.
4. Purpose
• I am making this to give young audiences an insight of the world/society of employment.
Work and education are two different environments; the purpose of the project is too allow
young individuals to see the difference in the environment and how to adapt and prepare for
the field of work.
• I think my production will offer my audience perspective; it will allow an open interpretation
for them to see how work challenges you a person and will allow them to identify the areas
of work they didn’t know.
• It will impress my client of Ypemployment because he will see how a making of video
overlooking more than one area, allows the audience to be informed better for a better
understanding of the work environment.
5. style
• The visuals will contain a montage of different sequences and subjects, making it more
engaging for the viewer. In my sequence there will be cutaways presenting the forms of
pressure interviews can have on a candidate and present the outcomes of an interview. I will
be a presenter of the video however, it will not be stated as one but be known as the host of
this project I will be creating. This prevents my project from looking like a news program.
• Participants: Year 13 students Jahmare, Josh, kazi
• No specified costume as their dress sense relates to the situations throughout my video.
• Locations used will be some in school and some on the highroad of Streatham; this allows my
project to look like I am receiving answers from a wider audience in a different are connoting
I am receiving answers from different cultures. There wont be any special graphics used in
the sequence and I will be using music in my project to give the audience a feel of my project
and. This will also allow me to establish he target audience of my project.
6. Audience
• The audience of my project sequence will be young people between 14-18 of no particular
gender or ethnicity. although people aged 14 are unable to work, it is good for them to have
awareness of working so that they have an understanding about the work environment for
when they get older.
7. Research
• Primary
- Conducting questionnaire which allows me to get a brief idea about the ways in which
should go at attempting and crafting my project. I also produced questionnaires for my other
two ideas which I had given out to two people.. The evidence of the questionnaires are gone
though.
• Secondary
- Secondary research I Conducted was the research of the 5 articles and 5 videos which helped
me craft and develop my idea.
8. Idea 2: Element of Employment
• The element I will be covering will be on how many job opportunities there are available for
young people. In this sequence I will inform younger audiences that dressing formally and
being in suits, will not get you all the jobs you apply for.
• I believe it’s a good idea as it allows YPemployment to attract wider audiences as they
attempt to appeal to a wider audience as possible.
9. Idea 2: Element of Employment
• This idea was built from Barclays 30 second clips discussion issues and benefits of the area of
work. My project will not follow its structure but the idea of their theme of crafting simple
youthful upbeat tempo and charisma allowed me to choose the flow of the project for me to
follow. My video is somewhat longer than other videos produced by companies and
individuals however, this is this length to give the audience enough information about the
topic without boring them around the topic.
• I have a USP for this sequence. The USP follows the idea that the crafting of my project
should look more like an advert, or a beginning to a TV show. The start of the sequence will
not relate to the topic I am overlooking/discussing however it will present immediately who I
am attempting to attract, through the use of music and visuals. Drawing my subject away
from the topic to attract my audience will allow my audience to remain engaged as the
cutaways used in the sequence will allow them to be intrigued.
• The point of this video will be to discuss more than one subject of employment. In doing so, I
will spend a set time on the area of what jobs are available for young peoples career dreams
are, and the other half will be on the importance of the attire a individual has when applying
for a job of any employment.
• Idea 2 merges and somewhat mixes with Idea 1.
11. Style
• There wont be a theme for me to follow throughout the sequence. I aim to draw my
audience away from the topic to gain their attention. I will do this by beginning my sequence
with upbeat and modern music or visuals whilst having young and youthful voices
talking/bantering each other in the background. This should intrigue a wide audience
expecting more males due to the source of entertainment and should cause them to focus on
what is happening in the sequence; this is when I will introduce a character who is going to
used to present the whole visual.
• This method being used constantly just to gain audience attention is a great way to appeal to
the young audience I am aiming for.
12. Audience
• Although this advert may predominately appeal to males due to the opening visual, the
audience of my project sequence will be young people between 14-18 of no particular
gender or ethnicity. although people aged 14 are unable to work, it is good for them to have
awareness of working so that they have an understanding about the work environment for
when they get older.
13. Idea 3: Element of Employment
• The won’t really be looking into an area of employment as it is more around stereotypes. In
this video I aim to draw young individuals out the impression that they have to fit into one
category of work. I aim to show them that a businessman can also be a part singer or an
professional actor actor can be deliveryman for pizza hut.
• The point of this is to break the stereotypes and to ensure young audiences that they Plan A
and can still be possible for them as long as they go through with it.
• Main view on this is judgment; people are judged on how they dress, walk, smile and act and
this video is here to almost cause confusion into the everyday expectations of an individual. I
have chosen this element because I myself have judged a character on his/her appearance
and they had managed to break my idea of them by performing their talent outside of their
profession.
14. Element of Element
• I got this idea from the Evian roller blades advert and additional help from my teacher Mr
Sharpe. Although there is some influence, this is an original idea as the media hasn’t broken
the stereotype in the form I aim to do.
• I do have a USP for this sequence as I will be aiming looking at employment from a whole
complete different perspective. I will be exploring the characteristics and the personalities
and ambitions of people whop are currently employed being; this will help provide hop into
these young youths that they can still balance their dreams whilst ensuring they are receiving
a monthly income.
15. Purpose
• I am making this to give young audiences an insight of the world/society of employment.
Work and education are two different environments; the purpose of the project is too allow
young individuals to see the difference in the environment and how to adapt and prepare for
the field of work.
• I think my production will offer my audience perspective; it will allow a clear judgment of
another and allow them to feel that that people can carry numbers of talent academically,
socially, physically etc.
• It will impress my client of YPemployment because he will see how a making of video
overlooking the area of judgment, allows the audience to be informed around individuals
characters and have a better understanding of the work environment.
16. Style
• I will carry the theme of stereotypes. I will focus on a very good profession and break it by
having them engage in an activity the audience wouldn’t expect him/her to do. I’ve decided
to do this by having a rapper in the booth “laying down bars” where he then wraps it up and
exits the studio. With this we will introduce his day-to-day job of being a lawyer where he has
a major case to win; he will be formally dressed and will leave the viewers questioning how a
lawyer can rap or even be an artist in their spare time.
• This method being used constantly just to gain audience attention is a great way to appeal to
the young audience I am aiming for.
