The Port of Tanjung Pelepas is a major container port located in Malaysia. It received its first vessel in 1999 and set a world record by handling over 1 million TEU of containers within 571 days of operation. Currently, the port has 10 berths totaling 3.6 km in length and a container yard of 1.2 million square meters. It has a capacity of over 8 million TEU per year. The port benefits from deep waters of 15-19 meters and a large turning basin. It aims to generate economic growth for Johor and contribute to Malaysia's development.

on the eastern mouth of the Pulai River in South Western
Johor , Malaysia .
0 Receiving its maiden vessel on 10 Oktober 1999 on a
three month trial operation, it set a world record as the
fastest growing port with 1 million twenty – foot
equivalent unit ( TEU ) of containers handled after 571
day of operation .

3. 0 The current port offers 10 berths totaling 3.6 km of linear
wharf length, and a 1.2 million square meters container yard
which have over 156,000 TEU in storage space. The berths
are serviced by 27 Super Post - Panamax quay cranes, 13 of
which have a 22 box outreach and twin lift. The total
capacity of the port today is over 8 million TEU per year. 77
rubber tyred gantry cranes operate around the container
facility .
0 The port has a naturally deep harbor with a draft of 15 - 19
meters, and its turning basin of 600 meters allows for ships
of any size to turn easily .
