U.S. Asthma Prevalence - Predictive Modeling
This document summarizes a study exploring the prevalence of asthma in the United States in 2017. It presents exploratory analysis of the relationships between asthma and variables like age, sex, race, income, and geography. A logistic regression model is built to predict asthma likelihood using these variables. The model achieves an accuracy rate of 84% and area under the ROC curve of 0.6695 when tested on a separate dataset, showing logistic regression can reasonably classify individuals as asthmatic or non-asthmatic. Challenges from the survey method and missing data are also noted.

From 1998-2005, they worked in over 450 schools and conflict areas in Java, reaching over 1,000 children. Their basic model included training teachers and students over 3 days, holding in-class and out-of-class peacebuilding sessions, and engaging marginalized youth and communities in real-world problem solving. They found working with children and youth to be an inspiring way to promote sustainable peacebuilding.

PL_Visit to the local science center
Students attended a lecture and practical lesson at the Mineralogical Museum in November. The lecture covered the distribution and uses of popular minerals. During the practical part, students observed samples of emeralds, amethyst, calcite, chalcanthite, chrysoprase, crystals, and malachite, taking pictures and notes to draw conclusions. The experience provided students with an educational lesson in mineralogy.
Mk_Visit to the local science centre
The pupils from a local school visited the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as part of an annual science month event. During their visit, they attended popular science lectures on monitoring brown bears, the periodic table, and geoparks. They also saw presentations of projects developed by high school students on topics in biology, geography, physics, and chemistry. These included a geography project on Mark's Towers near the city of Prilep and a chemistry project on a polymer foam formula and reaction. The visit expanded the pupils' knowledge of the natural sciences through the lectures and interesting student projects.

Students attended a lecture and practical lesson at the Mineralogical Museum in November. The lecture covered the distribution and uses of popular minerals. During the practical part, students observed samples of emeralds, amethyst, calcite, chalcanthite, chrysoprase, crystals, and malachite, taking pictures and notes to draw conclusions. The experience provided students with an educational lesson in mineralogy.

Our local trip in Poland
Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, Poland hosts different events every weekend and is over 100 years old. Nearby attractions include a needle-like monument called "Iglica", a museum in the Four Domes Pavilion, and a beautiful fountain in the square. Behind the fountain is Szczytnicki Park which covers 1 square kilometer. The group also visited the planetarium to learn about stars and then enjoyed spending time with friends in the surrounding area of Centennial Hall.
