This document discusses building social-ecological resilience and the transition to sustainable enterprise. It notes that the Earth is full due to human impacts like climate change, resource extraction and waste. To avoid potentially devastating effects, a transition is needed to sustainable enterprise that considers economic, environmental and social value. Sustainable enterprises will need to build resilience through agile leadership, systems thinking and transdisciplinary skills to manage risks and preserve systems. Beyond sustainability, the goal should be regenerative business and leadership that operates within resilient social-ecological systems.

Assessing the role of climate in Indonesian fires, to better support Fire Man...CIFOR-ICRAF
Presented by Rosa Roman-Cuesta, Hety Herawati, Victoria Ramenzoni at 'Understanding the role of climate in Indonesian fires, to better support fire management interventions' workshop, Jakarta, 25th July 2019
Climate Deadline 2035 tells the story of the intense race we are all in to beat the “point of no return” in the 2030’s. Our own best hope for survival lies not in the hands of scientists or government, or corporations but in the will of the citizens of our planet to mobilize and demand action.
5th International Disaster and Risk Conference IDRC 2014 Integrative Risk Management - The role of science, technology & practice 24-28 August 2014 in Davos, Switzerland
True Value Accounting for Multi Dimension Management is an initiative to make it possible to use better metrics so that we have better outcomes for both people and the environment. The initiative is built on top of the methods traditionally associated with conventional double entry accountancy, but applied to everything that makes up the complex ubiquitous socio-enviro-economic system. We have amazing possibilities, but as long as money and greed are the dominant incentive with nothing else of importance being measured, it should be no surprise that the world is suffering from an accelerating race to the bottom. This can be changed, and one of the tools for this should be better metrics along the lines being described by TrueValueMetrics.org. Peter Drucker famously said: 'You manage what you measure', but it is also important to measure the things that matter.

Fundamental social change to make sustainable relations to environment possible
We think we understand environmental damage: pollution, water scarcity, a warming world. But these problems are just the tip of the iceberg. Deeper issues include food insecurity, financial assets drained of value by environmental damage, and a rapid rise in diseases of animal origin. These and other problems are among the underreported consequences of an unsustainable global system.
In State of the World 2015, the flagship publication of the Worldwatch Institute, experts explore hidden threats to sustainability and how to address them. Eight key issues are addressed in depth, along with the central question of how we can develop resilience to these and other shocks. With the latest edition of State of the World, the authorities at Worldwatch bring to light challenges we can no longer afford to ignore.
From the Economy of the Us to the Green Economyijtsrd
We are at an unprecedented historical moment where three crises converge economic, energy and ecological. Unemployment, climate change, loss of biodiversity, overexploitation of resources, social inequality, price volatility of raw materials, and the more than expected rise in the price of energy are sources of instability for our society. In the current context, the only way to guarantee the well being of citizens is to reduce vulnerability to the shocks derived from the triple crisis. In the second part we analyze new elites and their attitudes toward the environment in Latin America and Chile. Then we present the main results of our research and discussion.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

• Settling for being less unsustainable is not an option
because this does not remove the existential threat

• We need regenerative business – and, indeed,
regenerative leadership – redesigning organisations

resilient social-ecological systems
• This is a profound and fundamental shift from
mechanistic, control-based, egotistical operating
