1. From my questionnaire I have gathered that most of the people taking my survey
are female and watch music documentaries. From this knowledge I will make sure
to make my product tailored to both males and females, however, may add in
some extra features which may appeal more to its larger female audience.
2. From this data, I can conclude that most of the audiences who watch music documentaries
and took part in my survey are under 18, there is also a proportion, 26.47% of 18-24 year
old audiences. From this I will make sure to aim my music documentary at these audiences
of this age.
3. From this data, I can see that a large proportion of the people answering my questionaire
listen to alternative rock music and also indie music. From this I can tell that many people are
interested in this genre therefore I will make my documentary tailored to this and will not do
a documentary on chart or dance music as the percentages of people who listen to these
who completed my survey – is low.
4. From this data I can see that the most people who answered this question liked new
music the most. I will therefor, make my music documentary on a band who are current
and producing music at the present day. This data also suggests that people liked a
range of older music too such as 90’s and 80’s music. I will perhaps put in some music
over the top of some footage of music from this era too in order to please my audiences.
5. Due to the fact that many people said that they sometimes watched music
documentaries, I will try to make my music documentary as interesting and
grabbing as I can in order to try and gain audiences and make people
interested in music documentaries after watching mine
6. Here are a range of opinions from people about what kind of things they like about music
documentaries. There are some interesting opinions and I will take this into consideration
when making my own documentary in order to interest my audiences. Some interesting
ones are I will try and make my documentary quite personal and include light hearted
and personal things about the band memebrs
7. Some recurring themes which people like in music documentaries are live footage of
the band and lots of footage of the band members in order for the viewers to get to
know them. History of the band is also a key interest of my audiences.

9. Most people like to see interviews and footage of the band and them playing music.
This is something that I will include in my music documentary in order to tailor my
music documentary to what people like. In order to make sure I get a large audience
and that people like my documentary.
10. People prefer documentary which look new to old, but like most documentaries
which include both old footage and new looking footage. Therefore, in my
documentary I will use both and modern HD camera and an old, 2004 camera to
make some of my footage look old. This will add a very cinematic effect to my
documentary and make it ‘rich’ with different layers to it.
11. It is very clear form this data that most audiences like documentaries to look
alternative, cinematic and like movie. Therefor i will make my documentary like this
in order to please my audiences. I will do this by making it have dramatic and tense
moments in the documentary and to let it flow like and actual movie with a storyline
rather than randomly cut together footage.
12. I will DEFINITELYA include information in my documentary which
includes a problem with the bands career as this I what my audiences
have stated they like. I may have to create a made up situation in which
conveys a problem with the bands career.
