2013 - REVIEW
TRAVELLER OPENING SEQUENCE
This title sequence received 20 marks which is a U-E.
They received this mark because there is very little evidence of
creativity such as with the titles they were not placed nor shown in
a unique way such as placed near the trees or change in position
they only showed 2 titles including the title which also
demonstrated a lack of editing skills. The first title is seen below.
Lastly, there was very little control of camera ands it looked like a
tripod was not used and was filmed by hand which shows the
disregard of the framing.
This was not a convincing title sequence as I could tell little effort
was put into the editing.

THE VENGENACE
This title sequence received 36 marks which is a
B-C.
They received this mark because effective titles
were used and there is vast amount of evidence of
proficiency in the creative use of many of the
skills such as editing. By the end of the sequence
the pace speeds up giving the audience a clue
that something is not right. The sound and
images were also used appropriately as they
changed and stopped for each scene.
I did not find this sequence very convinced
because of the poor quality and lighting although
they may have done this to fit the codes and
conventions of their genre.
TORN
This title sequence received 56 marks which is a A-B
They received the mark they did because there was excellent
evidence of creative use of many of the technical skills such as
using appropriate material for the target audience for example the
doll. The title also fit very well into the film as the font was white
and perfected and stood out against the background catching my
attention. Lastly, the soundtrack used was fast paced and chosen
perfectly as it made the protagonist seem he was up too
something more than shown.
I think this is a very convincing opening sequence as they
established the characters, locations and didn’t give to much
away while still having the audiences attention throughout the
whole 2 min 30 secs.
