Structure Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Structure Essay" may seem deceptively simple at first glance,
but delving into the intricacies of crafting a coherent and effective essay structure can prove to
be a challenging task. The difficulty lies not only in expressing ideas logically but also in
organizing them in a manner that captivates the reader's attention and conveys the intended
message effectively.
One of the primary challenges is striking the right balance between introduction, body, and
conclusion. Each section should seamlessly flow into the next, creating a cohesive narrative that
guides the reader through the essay. Developing a clear thesis statement and ensuring that each
paragraph contributes to the overall argument without straying off course requires careful
consideration and planning.
Additionally, maintaining a consistent tone and style throughout the essay can be challenging.
Writers must be mindful of their audience and tailor their language and approach accordingly.
Striking the right balance between formality and accessibility is crucial to engage readers and
convey the desired message effectively.
Furthermore, the process of structuring an essay involves revising and refining the initial draft.
This iterative process can be time-consuming, as writers must critically assess each sentence,
paragraph, and section to ensure they align with the overall structure and purpose of the essay.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of "Structure Essay" demands a thoughtful and
systematic approach. It requires a keen understanding of the subject matter, an ability to
articulate ideas clearly, and a commitment to refining the structure for optimal impact. While the
challenge may be significant, the rewards lie in creating a well-structured piece of writing that
effectively communicates the intended message to the audience.
If you find yourself struggling with such tasks, it's worth noting that there are resources and

The Importance Of The Right To Privacy
However, the Court also cautioned in the same case that the right to privacy is not
absolute. The right to privacy does not bar all incursions into individual privacy. The
right is not intended to stifle scientific and technological advancements that enhance
public service and the common good. It merely requires that the law be narrowly
focused and a compelling interest justify such intrusions. Intrusions into the right
must be accompanied by proper safeguards and well defined standards to prevent
unconstitutional invasions. When a certain technology is used for legitimate reasons
coupled by adequate safeguards, the intrusion is justified. However, when an already
intrusive technology is used for non legitimate reasons, the right to privacy is violated.
An instance when technology is used for non legitimate reasons is when it is used
to commit abuses. The following are the ways in which a CCTV System may be
abused by its operator(s):
Criminal Abuse
In using surveillance systems, bad apples in the law enforcement authorities are
presented with a tempting opportunity for criminal misuse. Criminal abuse refers to
the kind of abuse which in itself constitutes a crime or one which results to a
commission of a crime. An example is when a top ranking police official in
Washington, D.C. was caught using police databases to maliciously gather
information of patrons of a gay club. License plate numbers of cars parked at the
club were captured and by researching on the background

Amy Poehler once wrote, Sometimes painful things can teach us lessons that we

So often parents tell their children, teenagers in particular, that not being willing to
listen to them could lead to dire consequences. Most teens believe that parents are
all talk and the consequences never really come, or least they are not that dire. Not
true in Belen, New Mexico. A 16 year old boy kept stealing from his parents. They
tried punishing him through various means, but to no avail. He just kept on stealing.

This story describes the life of the author s father. Although, it is odd he never
mentions any personal memories of his bond with his father. While the author was
growing up it seems as though his father was too concerned with his struggles of
life and never built a bond with his son. In today s society economic, social, and
other desires hinder parents and children from having effective and valuable
relationships. His father was occupied trying to locate a stable job for his family. His
father s drinking problem and adulterous ways of living joined with constantly

author did not mention about his wife and son and their relationship much. Therefore
it is likely that he would suffer from the same incapability to form a bond with his
son, just like his father was unable to do with him. The relationship between father

Copy Book Cost
Publishing electronic books require less resource than a hard copy book. When a
hard book is published, the publisher has to spend a huge amount of money for
paper, ink and labor. In the contrary eBooks do not require papers. As a result,
production cost is minimal. Thus, electronic books are cheaper in the market
compare to a hard copy book. In addition, when someone buy a hard copy book,
there is expense for mailing and packaging which is not the case with electronic
books. Most of the time, I buy kindle books from amazon, and I save a minimum of
ten dollars per books. when it adds up with a number of books, I save a huge
amount of money yearly. Instructors may want students to use and learn from a

campus book costs increased of over ninety percent. In addition, in the last five years
since 1998, textbook costs have risen an additional 41 percent. Consequently, many

And unfortunately papers are entirely made from trees. Consequently, trees are cut
for the purpose of making papers. It is fact that trees are important to keep our
ecology, and also, life is entirely depending on the oxygen released from trees.
Thus, we have the obligation to prevent the cut down of trees, in order to sustain
life in our planet, for the purpose of making papers. Environmental change, global
warming and decrease soil fertility are as the result of decrease in the population of
trees in our planet. By minimizing our usage of papers and recycling, we can
minimize the impact of environmental disaster. Using electronic books is one method
to minimize usage of paper. Using electronic books instead of hard copy books, the

Essay On Polyphemus And Julfus
Polyphemus, one of the most famous archetypes of the Cyclops of ancient Greek
mythology, and Bruce Banner, The Hulk from the Marvel film, have made an impact
in history with the incredible characteristics they both possess. Although both
characters were written in different time periods throughout history, their
commonalities are reflected within their personalities. Despite the drastic differences
in both their settings, they still manage to show heroism throughout their numerous
conflicts. In order to surpass such trials, both characters make use of their natural
instincts to survive. Polyphemus and the Hulkshare an infatuation with savagery as

Furthermore, when left blind by Odysseus, Polyphemus is determined to pursue his

Polyphemus is a vicious beast who obtains what he wants no matter the predicament.
Correspondingly, The Hulk possesses the same barbaric instincts when aggravated.
The Hulk is transformed into an enormous gray skinned monster with virtually
limitless strength and destructive capability; it embodies the darkest, angriest, and
most antisocial aspects of Banner s personality (Sanderson Web). The Hulk s
uncontrolled and uncivilized temperament facilitates his transformation which
enables him to become an untamed, ferocious beast. The only way that he is able to
withdraw an enormous amount of strength is when aggravated by an enemy. Whether
the Hulk is at its peak, regarding his fighting ability, always depends on his stress
levels. The more stress that he endures, the more strength he exerts which in turn
makes him a deadly force. Both Polyphemus and Hulk, when being threatened, tend
to portray defensive impulses that bring about their barbaric ways.
By the same token, these characters also retain incredible abilities that demonstrate
their extreme strength and power. Polyphemus cruelty and bloodthirst empowers him

A New Covenant With The House Of Judah
The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with
the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 32 It will not be like the covenant that I
made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the
land of Egypt a covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, says the
Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their
hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 No longer shall they
teach one another, or say to each other, Know the Lord, for they shall all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity,
and remember their sin no more.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his
brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them
unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will
remember their sin no more. (Jeremiah 31:31 34) (The Harper Collins Study Bible)
Jeremiah 31:31 34 is one of the popular passages for the discussion for both
Christina and Jews alike. Jeremiah 31: 31 34 is a part of a section of the book of
Jeremiah which was called, the Book of Consolation. It is a foretelling message of
God promise for the people, in which God promises that he will make a new
unconditional covenant with the nation of Israel and Judah.
Gary Leon Wasn t The Brightest Kid
February 18, 1949, Gary Leon Ridgway was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was
raised in SeaTac, Washington. His homelife as a boy was very troubled. More than
once did he witness brutal arguments between his parents. He had trouble wetting
the bed, and when his mom would find it, she would belittle him in front of his
whole family. He contracted anger and sexual attraction toward her. When
Ridgway was 16, he led a boy into the woods and stabbed him in the liver. The boy
survived, but someone witnessed Gary as he was walking away laughing say I ve

interview he said he killed so many that the lost count. Most of his victims were
runaways or prostitutes whom he had picked up and strangled along Pacific
Highway South. A majority of the murders took place in 1982 1984. A lot of the
bodies were dumped along the Green River, in the wooded area, hence the name
Green River Killer. He would always keep up with where he threw the bodies,
because he would later return and have intercourse with their corpse. Sometimes
he would leave the bodies in a posed, nude position. Out of all of the women Gary
killed, only 4 are unidentified. Most of his bodies were left in Washington, but
often to throw off the police, he would cross over into Oregon and leave a few
there. He would contaminate the crime scenes by leaving gum and written material
belonging to others. His murders would start by just driving along and picking up a
woman, most of the time a prostitute. To make them feel more comfortable with him,
he would show them a picture of his son that he carried in his wallet. He would lure
them in, get them to have sex with him and then he would murder them. He would
always strangle them. Never would he use anything but his hands. You could tell
where the girls would struggle, because he would have bruises and claw marks on his

Pros And Cons Of Texas Plural Executive
There are many different opinions on how much power the governor of Texas
should have than other states. Some people debate on whether Texas government
should have a singular executive instead of plural executive. There are pros and
cons of having a plural executive model and at times they believe that it can be more
democratic than the single executive model. The governor s power is debated about
whether or not they have not enough or too much power with governing the state of
Texas. The executive branch of Texas is like the federal government meaning that
the governor is like the president because he is also the commander in chief of the
military forces which is the police officers, the National Guard units, and the
department of public safety. They also have the power to elect judges to fill in spots

It could make it harder for them to work together because they could have different

the officials that are elected by the voters and at times people have little knowledge
about the person they are voting for. The person that they voted for could be
unsuitable or even unqualified candidates to do the job. A singular executive model
is when the governor and lieutenant governor are elected together, and that is why it
is easier for them to work together. There are people that think that the Texas
government should have a singular executive model instead of a plural executive
model. They believe in this because the current model we are using, they do not
work together as others do like a cabinet does in the executive officials do for the
President for the United States. But it also creates a powerful executive officer and
that would be the lieutenant governor in the state legislator besides the
Rear Window Film Techniques
Throughout Alfred Hitchcock s movie, Rear Window, the male gaze of the 1950s
is shown to the audience through the main character, Jefferies. His point of view
strains the relationship with his fiancГ©e, Lisa. His point of view coerces him
into thinking less of himself due to the fact she was a successful woman who went
against these views. Her success at first makes him feel inferior, which went
against societies view of what a woman should be. While forced to spend his days
recovering in a wheel chair, Jefferies takes up the hobby of watching his neighbors

Jeff: Well, it s very simple, Stella. She belongs to that rarified atmosphere of Park
Avenue, you know. Expensive restaurants, literary cocktail parties...Can you
imagine her tramping around the world with a camera bum who never has more
than a week s salary in the bank? If she was only ordinary (Hitchcock). This scene
reveals that Jeff does have feelings for Lisa, but he views himself as unworthy for
someone of her stature. Others respect her success and willingness to go the extra
mile, but for someone who sees the world the old fashioned way Lisa could be a
woman ahead of her time. Jefferies spends his bed ridden days peeping in on his
neighbors Ms. Torso and Miss Lonelyheart. The audience watches as Miss
Lonelyheart pieces together a romantic dinner for two and pretended to greet a
lover at the door; only for her to later drink herself to sleep at the kitchen table. This
character represents Jefferies loneliness and lust for a partner, but also his fear to
commit to one. Miss Lonelyheart is only able to find love in the film after Jefferies
comes to the realization that he is good enough for Lisa after all. Coincidentally in
another apartment, he finds Ms. Torso, a ballerina, who is constantly practicing her
dance routines or hosting gatherings for potential patrons. In one peeping scene Jeff
compares Ms. Torso s apartment to Lisa s and he then proceeds to spy on her

Ancient Atomic Theory And John Dalton
Ancient Atomic Theory John Dalton Many people struggled to understand the
nature of matter. Some said it was made of water and some said it was fire. A few
others believed that whatever matter was made of, it must be something that could
not be destroyed. Atomic theory attempts to answer what all things are made of. It
states that all matter is composed of extremely small particles called atoms. The word
atommeant indivisible in Greek and was first used by Democritus, a Greek
philosopher (Similar to a scientist at that time). Democritus believed that atoms are
indivisible and unchangeable, their shape, size and orientation in space explains the
existence of different substances and materials. While Democritus ideas aren t
acceptable today, because atoms are divisible... Show more content on

Although Democritus had a nice idea, it was not enough for some scientists in the
late 1700 s. Scientists like Joseph Priestly, Antoine Lavoisier demonstrated that
substances could combine to form new materials. Yet, it was John Dalton who
combined these ideas. He worked with the pressures and weights of different gases,
which led him to believe that their properties are dependent on atoms. He thought that
atoms from different elements could combine to form the known elements. He was
the first person to make an attempt in making a table of atomic weights, which was a
giant leap towards the making of the future Periodic Table Dalton s atomic theory
contains of five assumptions:
All matter consists of tiny particles called atoms.
Dalton and other scientists imagined the atoms as tiny, solid spheres in some stages
of motion.
Atoms are indestructible and unchangeable.
Atoms of an element cannot be created, destroyed nor divided into smaller pieces or
transformed into atoms of another element. This was based on the law of
conservation of mass, as stated by Antoine
Causes And Effects Of Sex Trafficking In India
As defined by the United Nations, human trafficking is the practice of illegally
transporting people from one country to another, typically for the purposes of
forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. Commercial sexual exploitation
(CSE) is a far reaching problem that children of developing countries face. India s
government has historic patterns of discrimination and a lack of resources on
educating disadvantaged girls, as a result of poverty. The gender imbalance and
the lack of education for children made it easier for an estimated 1.2 million
children to become victims of CSE. However, India s government is extremely
vulnerable to corruption. Reigning from a history of misogynistic beliefs, India s
government is biased against women and children who report trafficking. Plus, it is
all too easy for traffickers to bribe police and other law enforcement agents. Experts
suggest that to effectively deal with sex trafficking that India s government should
address historic patterns of discrimination and focus increased resources on
educating disadvantaged girls. However, many believe that non criminalization child
sex trafficking victims should be the place to start the fight against sex trafficking.
This paper will establish that India needs to be able to efficiently deal with
corruption in their government to effectively deal with sexual exploitation of women
and children. The Cause and Effects of Sex Trafficking There are many causes of
sex trafficking in India.
Economic System In America
When in the course of economic virtue, the United States of America has woefully
relied on the mixed economic system of Capitalism, where men are not created
equal, but rather the prosperous become richer while the impoverished become
poorer. For more now than ever has our nation needed a balanced economic system
that does not neglect our povertystricken citizens. Our government should be here to
serve our citizen s welfare and not to neglect them.
For our beautiful nation s infrastructure has long since been crumbling, as many
countries keep improving on their roads, drinking water, and schools; the United
States still has a D+ in infrastructure as ranked by the American Society of Civil
Engineers.

You wouldn t accept a dictatorship in our government, so why would you allow

Is this the country you want to reside in? One that takes away rights that protect you

Analysis Of Steve Smulka Paints Glass
Steve Smulka paints glass but it might be more accurate to say that Smulka paints
light. Smulka uses mason jars, vintage seltzer bottles, wine decanters, vases and water
pitchers to capture the way light bends, refracts, illuminates, and distorts its
surroundings. In some of the paintings, backgrounds of looming clouds and ridged
tree bark are as in focus as the glass containers in the foreground, merging the two in a
poetic, scrupulously accurate, yet slightly unreal manner. In other paintings, bottles in
columns two, three, or four deep create multiple layers of transparency that make for
almost abstract studies of light and color. In Steve Smulka s closely observed,
meditative paintings, these densely luminous layers give weight to the
Theme Of Phony In Catcher In The Rye
In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger shows through Holden Caulfield
how people cannot help being phony and fake, no matter how diligently they try.
Phoniness cannot be overcome by any man, including Holden, even though he
loathes people who are phony and do not speak their true mind. In search for a
solution, Holden hid from the real world and felt extreme loneliness, and he broke
down because he wanted the impossible. J.D. Salinger shows the lack of
connection between people, especially during times of trauma and depression
through Holden s obsession with the phoniness of the world, which leads Holden
down a dark path because there is no way to keep the world or people in general in
a state of innocence. In the novel, phoniness is recounted as when things are fake
and unrealistic and when people do not speak their true mind. Holden believes that
everyone and most things, but himself, are phony. Holden thought that at his old
school, Elkton Hills, he was, Surrounded by phonies, (pg 17). He remembered Mr.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( Mri )
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful medical imaging modality
which gives high spatial resolution images without radiation risk. MRI acquires
signals from hydrogen protons of subject. Under external static magnetic field
(B0), the spins of hydrogen protons precess with a Larmor frequency, while they
align parallel to the direction of B0. The spins align antiparallel to the direction of
B0 when additional radio frequency (RF) pulse with the Larmer requency is ap
plied. After RF pulse is removed, the protons relax through the recovery of mag
netization parallel to the direction of B0 (longitudinal or T1 relaxation) and the de
cay of transverse magnetization caused by the de phasing of the spins (transverse
or T2 relaxation) [4]. The tissue specific parameters of proton density, T1 relaxa
tion, and T2 relaxation gives contrast to the MR images. Due to this principle, MRI
gives great spatial resolution for soft tissues which contain more water molecules.
The major drawback of this technique is its relatively poor sensitivity, due to the
weak signal from protons [5]. T1 and T2 contrast agents which shorten relaxation
times have been developed to overcome its poor sensitivity and improve specifici ty.
Gd(III) chelates are the most widely used T1 contrast agents in clinical applica tions
[6]. Although Gd(III) chelates have good paramagnetic property and short en T1
relaxation, the toxicity of gadolinium ions and their rapid renal clearance limit their
use [7]. To reduce
Three Rules Of Constraint Management And Supply

2.4 CONSTRAINT MANAGEMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
What is Constraint Management? Constraint management is a tool that supervisors
and other management personnel use to help employees sustain task focus.
According to Goal Systems International, a Washington based business consulting
firm, constraint managementtry to help employees and supervisors remain locked in
on the most important element of business success: system constraints. These
constraints, or basic conditions to accomplishment a goal, differ by business and can
include meeting manufacturing output quotas, completing products in a well timed
manner or obtaining particular customer satisfaction scores on product surveys.
Constraint management believes that losing focus on these key essentials can facing
disaster for a workforce and the business as a whole. The constraint management
model recognizes performance standards for employees and try to improve
operational efficiency. A business is using constraint management requires structured
schedules for assembling raw materials, creating products and distributing products to

June s actions were intentional. June intentionally waited to tell April where May

Since April already had a fear of something bad happening to May, this event made

Race And Race
Kamila Hilal
The question at the center of this article is whether or not children between 5 and
6 years of age (in comparison to adults and children between 10 and 11 years of
age) consider race to be a stable over time. This concept is important in
understanding both the change in cognitive development of children as well as the
significances of difference in social groups as a factor in understanding race. This
controlled experimental study used white children ages 10 11, white children ages
5 6, white adults, and children (ages 5 6) of a racial minority. All participants were
shown pictures of a young child as well as two grown ups and asked which of the
two that young child will grow up to be (with both emotion and race of the images ...

I believe the design is very reasonable and it is able to address the question well
though perhaps within each of the four tested groups, the participants themselves
could have been selected from various socioeconomic groups (white children ages
5 6 from different socioeconomic backgrounds, children ages 5 6 of a racial
minority from different socioeconomic backgrounds, etc...). The experiment shows
an implication that although there is a cognitive component with developing the
understanding that race is stable, there is a great social component that is
presented by the difference between the two 5 6 year old groups. Is it because
children of a racial minority may be more likely to be educated by their parents on
the concept of race? Is there also a socio economic component to this
understanding. The article stated that the participants were recruited from the same
region though a region is ambiguous. It would be interesting to see diversity of
socio economic backgrounds within each of the groups (of course, new groups
would need to be created in order to test for a socio economic factor). Does the
socio economic background of a child from each of the groups affect their
understanding of race in comparison between groups and/or within the group
members? In addition, it would be interesting to further divide each group of children

Special Supplemental Nutrition Program Analysis
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children also
known as WIC, was developed in 1972 and employed in 1974 to provide families
with nutritious foods, education, social counseling services and access to health care.
Under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Foodand
NutritionServices (FNS) this was one of the first efforts to modify nutrition guidelines
of food provided by a federal food and nutrition assistance program. WIC was
implemented after realizing that hunger and poverty rates were on the rise throughout
the U.S., which translated into an increase of nutritional risk posed to pregnant and
post partum women, infants and children. As a federal mandated grant, the WIC

Jonestown Massacre Essay
The Jonestown Massacre
On November 18, 1978, in the South American country, Guyana, 918 people died
from drinking cyanide poisoning. The Jonestown Massacre, led by Jim Jones,
convinced men, women, and children of all ages to commit suicide or be killed in
days to come by the U.S. government. This event would become known as the most
deadly, non natural disaster in U.S. history, before September 11, 2001. James
Warren Jones, better known as Jim Jones, was born on May 13, 1978 in Lynn,
Indiana. His father, James Thurman Jones, and his mother, Lynetta Jones, never gave
him much love during his childhood. Lynetta worked all the time and James was

including the Church of Christ, Apostolic, Methodist, etc. Jim Jones graduated from
high school and became a student pastor at the Methodist Church in 1952. In 1956,
Jim Jones founded his own church called The Peoples Temple. Jim Jones was
officially ordained in 1964.
Jones became interested in the work of George Baker, or Father Divine, in the late
1950s. He was inspired by the fact that Father Divine was a black preacher with a
multiracial congregation, who claimed that he was God. Jim Jones was disgusted
with segregation at mainstream churches . The Peoples Temple became racially
integrated from the start. He supported and preached racial equality. Jim and his
wife even adopted kids of all races. In 1966, Jim Jones moved the Peoples Temple to

Analysis Of Robert Darnton s Workers Revolt
Chiara Maddison
The essay titled Workers Revolt: The Great Cat Massacre of the Rue Saint
SГ©verin by Robert Darnton discusses a massacre of cats that, according to the
worker Nicolas Contat, took place in Paris in the first half of the 1700s. Contat s
writes about two apprentices, Jerome and LГ©veille. They had poor living
conditions, were given food scraps to eat, and they had to deal with the master and
their superiors. On top of all this, during the night stray cats would howl, keeping
them awake. One day LГ©veille decided to crawl along the roof until he got near
the master s bedroom and began to howl with the cats. The aster and his wife
became convinced that they were being bewitched and ordered the apprentices to
get rid of the cats. They chased cats of rooftops, hit them with iron bars, and trapped
them in sacks. They also performed mock trials where the rest of the workshop
would join in and hang the cats with a noose. Although to us this seems like a
horrific act of violence, the workers turned it into a celebration. These different views
of the same event exist because of the different societies. The hatred these workers
had for the bourgeois, popular celebrations, and the things that cats symbolized all
contributed to the humor of the cat massacre. We must first understand these to be
able to understand the cat massacre. The first thing that people must know about this
time is the situation of workers. Towards the end of the 1600s, larger printing shops

What Is Operating System Security

malware, buffer overflows, virus and worms, malware and detection, software reverse

for the sake of simplicity, we will discuss how we can reduce or mitigate that attacks
by applying operating system security. We will categorize these security issues in
relation to the operating systems security functions, more specifically, the role of
trusted OS and the Next Generation Secure Computing Base (NGSCB). Any
Operating System must provide some degree of separation, memory protection, and

The largest living penguin is the Emperor penguin. Years ago there were penguins
that were much larger. Fossils have been found of penguins that were 6 to 9 feet tall
and weighed about 200 pounds.
The Emperor penguin is 3 to 4 feet tall and weighs 70 to 90 pounds. They carry 12
pounds of blubber around their waist.
The Emperor penguins wing muscles are huge. Their wings are called flippers.
When they stretch out their flippers the span is 36 inches. Their flippers are very
strong and if they hit your arm it will break it.
The Emperor penguin is very calm and quiet friendly if they are not molested. The
Emperor penguin spends most of its time preening itself.
The Emperor s head is jet black and their back is black with a bluish sheen. Their
chest is white and has a light gold tinge. They have bright yellow or orange patches
around their ears. They have a rose or purple streak on their lower bill. They have
white feathers on their legs. Their nose is covered with feathers to keep out the cold.

has been using these sections for breeding places for many years. These breeding

Emperor penguins will dive 150m under the ice to find drill and crustaceans. They

Freakonomics Rhetorical Analysis
An incentive is a bullet, a key: an often tiny object with astonishing power to
change a situation (Levitt Dubner 16). Freakonomics is a book written in 2005 by
award winning economist Steven Levitt and former New York Times journalist
Stephen Dubner while they both resided in different states. The use of simple
diction makes it so a larger audience can be reached; readers vary from everyday
people to students to economists. In order to better explain economics, Levitt and
Dubner appeal to their audience by forgoing economic jargon and using simpler terms
to ensure that the readers understand and relate to what is being explained throughout
the passages. The authors also appeal to the readers through their credible
background and logically by using statistics, researches, facts and parallelism.
The passage begins with the authors asking the readers to imagine for a moment...

When explaining economics instead of using large over complicated words, the
authors simply state that economics is, at root, the study of incentives. Rather than
utilizing economist argot, Levitt and Dubner describe economics in a way that
makes it easier to understand and put into perspective. As the passage continues,
the authors provide the audience with many relatable examples such as if you

society works, an incentive is simply a means of urging people to do more of a
good thing and less of a bad thing. Like Levitt and Dubner previously stated,
economics is the study of incentives and how it affects society and their decision

include hurricanes, floods and tornadoes. Comparable to other natural disasters,
there is a great deal of severe damage to properties, businesses and unfortunately
loss of life. There were a total of 422 tornadoes throughout the country in 1953.
Texas has endured a multitude of disastrous storms; however on May 11, 1953 there
was a particular storm that forever transformed a city called Waco, Texas known as

Analysis Of The Bean Eaters By Gwendolyn Brooks
The Bean Eaters Within a court system, there are degrees to certain crimes first
degree murder, second degree murder, and so on. In association with this idea, I
believe that most anything can be put on a spectrum like so, grading something on
its intention and execution. Levels of Americanness in American literature is no
exception to this idea. We are able to break down each piece of American literature
and categorize it accordingly first degree Americanness, second degree, or third
degree to better understand the author s reasoning behind their writing (or lack
thereof) or how and why they wrong, and how this data might compare with other
pieces within the same category. With this concept in mind, I m going to be
analyzing The Bean Eaters by Gwendolyn Brooks and determine its spot on the
spectrum in terms of Americanness . To kick off analyzing the piece, I believe it d
be best for me to outline my terms of Americanness in a piece of writing before I
elaborate. After careful consideration, I ve decided how to create the categories: first
degree Americanness is going to be about something very blatantly American,
whether that pertains to outright patriotism or political discussion. When someone
writes something and the reader can very clearly figure out the topic of their work,
that being American pride or criticism, it qualifies as a first degree American piece.
Second degree American is similar to this, but not so obvious. These pieces will
contain American

Growing up, Zora Neale Hurston was surrounded by a religious and creative black

recovery. If patients survive and blood loss is controlled, the large blood loss can lead
to hypothermia/coagulopathy/infection/acidosis/multiple organ failure/ and fatal
hypotension.

Kaolin is very easy to refine and produce due to the abundant available quantities of
its unrefined form, kaolinite. And since kaolin is inert in its clinical form it does
not cause an immune response when introduced into a biological system, however
it is not biodegradable so it must be removed after use (Bennett et al., 2014;
Trabattoni et al., 2010). Kaolin has been an attractive hemostatic agent due to its
ability to form clots and being inexpensive to produces, however a major drawback
is that it does not work when the host is in a state of coagulopathy.
Chitosan:
Chitosan is a polysaccharide made of polymers of ОІ (1 4) linked D glucosamine and
N acetyl D glucosamine (NAG), and is produced from a component of the
exoskeleton of crustacean shells called chitin. Chitosan s hemostatic effects are due to
its amino groups reacting with the membranes of circulating cells in the host s blood,
leading to eventual clot formation that occurs independently of the innate coagulation
cascade. The positively charged residues present on chitosan attract the negatively
charged cell membranes of erythrocytes and thrombocytes, creating a cross linkage of
said cells and then the formation of a thrombus. Chitosan is also biodegradable and is
broken down inside the host. It also induces an immune response that activates
macrophages and stimulates cell proliferation leading to faster wound healing
Arts And Early Childhood Development
1.How do The Arts support early childhood development?
Arts are always related to the easiest and less important part of the children learning
areas, just because It won t help to develop any important skill for the near future. But
more than a beautiful picture, full of details and colorful, children are acquiring better
benefits developmentally talking. Children like exploring, discovering and also have
a natural curiosity that make them figure out how the world works and also obtain
new knowledge of their immediate environment. (Michigan State University, 2015)
Regards to this, Arts provide the flexibility and freedom to create and manipulate
different materials, in a natural approach that allows experimentation which is not

By this stage their fine motor skill has improved and their more confident to develop
art any time (Tomlin, 2008). For example, Ivette on this picture try to represent a
garden where insects can live. For her, It was important to represent the weather
during spring sunny and warm and the green beautiness that spring brought.

Ebola Persuasive Speech
Many of us watched or read with horror the news of the school shooting in
Washington state. Yet our bigger concern seems to be about Ebola or the Islamic
State group.
One of the four students injured at the Marysville Pilchuck High School in
Washington state when a freshman opened fire died, increasing the shooting s death
toll to two (three if you include the shooter himself). There are three other victims
who are still in the hospital as a result of that shooting: Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14,
Andrew Fryberg, 15, both of whom are in critical condition and Nate Hatch, 14, who
is in serious condition.
The young girl who died is Gia Soriano; she had a gunshot to her head, was in
critical condition and now, has died...she was only 14 years old. ... Show more content

This saddens me. Deeply.
I not only wept about this girl s passing, as a woman who has two children of her
own; but as a human being who sees the elephant in the room, which we as a nation
and, we as parents are clearly ignoring.
Our children are hurting.
The shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School in Washington state was the 38th(!)
school shooting this year in the United States.
Looking back, on this year, and many others; it seems theses shootings bring up
discussion, dialogue and controversy about the following issues;
a) Guns
b) Mental Illness

Hippocrates On The Sacred Disease Summary
The passage On the Sacred Disease, is an examination into the alleged sacred
disease of epilepsy. Although many of the anatomic and bodily propositions were
incorrect, Hippocrates concepts were closer to the diagnostics and teachings of today
than those of metaphysical reasoning. For these reasons, On the Sacred Disease
provided a structural understanding of diseases in our bodies today. Hippocratesmain
concepts are derived from the fact that this disease originates from a natural cause.
He states , Men regard its nature and cause as divine from ignorance and
wonder...this notion of divinity is kept up by their inability to comprehend it (33
35). It was this sacred disease of epilepsy that people used to connect with divine
interference. Divine stimulation was never in form of a sickness or disease. These
people were under the idea that sickness was not a sole presence, but rather an
ailment that affects the human body and is sent by divinities. Therefore people did
little to treat the affected, but rather tried to appease the so called divine powers that
sent the disease. In fact, the epileptic attacks were often referred to different gods
depending on the symptoms such as Poseidon, Ares, Apollo, and Hecate.... Show

He states, the body is made to feel and undergo changes in the changes of the winds
(326 327), it was conventional that there were just four elements, earth, air, fire, and
water with their related traits, coldness, dryness, heat, and wetness. If these elements
were present in the human body in balanced amounts, health was maintained, if not
health was ravaged by the lack of an equivalence. This concept was stemmed from an
idea that health was maintained by an equal rule of the bodily elements rather than
dominion by a single
Transcontinental Airways History
Flight has become romanticized by humanity, it provides Freedom . Throughout the
majority human history, humans have used land and water for their transportation
needs. The invention of the airplane opened the use of a third medium, air. Flight
only has the illusion of freeing us from earth. Airplanes would not be able to maintain
flight without their ground based systems. These systems are arranged along flight
corridors or airways. The Transcontinental Airway was the first major flight corridor
constructed in the United States. The ground systems constructed along these
corridors have made major impacts upon the landscape of the early 20th century.
The United States Post Office (USPS) established the Arial Mail Transportation

There were lights to define the border of each landing strip, approach lights and red
lights to mark obstructions to be avoided.
The features found on the transcontinental were found on airways across the
country. Over 18,000 miles, 15550 beacons, and 263 intermediate landing fields
were built over the course of the program. The airways crossed nearly every type of
terrain the country has. The manner of lights installed and where they were installed
was dictated by the individual challenges of the terrain of each airway. It is hard to
pin a date as to when the airway system was phased out. There was no sweeping
change to cause their disappearance. Small incremental changes and advances in
technology made them obsolete.
Today remnants of the system still exist throughout the country, primarily in the west
where development pressures were lower. The airway system pioneered by the
Transcontinental is still in use today, though with a much reduced capacity, in
mountainous regions of

The right to privacy does not bar all incursions into individual privacy. The right is not intended to stifle scientific and technological advancements that enhance public service and the common good. It merely requires that the law be narrowly focused and a compelling interest justify such intrusions. Intrusions into the right must be accompanied by proper safeguards and well defined standards to prevent unconstitutional invasions. When a certain technology is used for legitimate reasons coupled by adequate safeguards, the intrusion is justified. However, when an already intrusive technology is used for non legitimate reasons, the right to privacy is violated. An instance when technology is used for non legitimate reasons is when it is used to commit abuses. The following are the ways in which a CCTV System may be abused by its operator(s): Criminal Abuse In using surveillance systems, bad apples in the law enforcement authorities are presented with a tempting opportunity for criminal misuse. Criminal abuse refers to the kind of abuse which in itself constitutes a crime or one which results to a commission of a crime. • 11. Ancient Atomic Theory And John Dalton Ancient Atomic Theory John Dalton Many people struggled to understand the nature of matter. Some said it was made of water and some said it was fire. A few others believed that whatever matter was made of, it must be something that could not be destroyed. Atomic theory attempts to answer what all things are made of. It states that all matter is composed of extremely small particles called atoms. The word atommeant indivisible in Greek and was first used by Democritus, a Greek philosopher (Similar to a scientist at that time). Although Democritus had a nice idea, it was not enough for some scientists in the late 1700 s. Scientists like Joseph Priestly, Antoine Lavoisier demonstrated that substances could combine to form new materials. Yet, it was John Dalton who combined these ideas. He worked with the pressures and weights of different gases, which led him to believe that their properties are dependent on atoms. He thought that atoms from different elements could combine to form the known elements. He was the first person to make an attempt in making a table of atomic weights, which was a giant leap towards the making of the future Periodic Table Dalton s atomic theory contains of five assumptions: All matter consists of tiny particles called atoms. Dalton and other scientists imagined the atoms as tiny, solid spheres in some stages of motion. Atoms are indestructible and unchangeable. Atoms of an element cannot be created, destroyed nor divided into smaller pieces or transformed into atoms of another element. This was based on the law of conservation of mass, as stated by Antoine
  • 12. Causes And Effects Of Sex Trafficking In India As defined by the United Nations, human trafficking is the practice of illegally transporting people from one country to another, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. Commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) is a far reaching problem that children of developing countries face. India s government has historic patterns of discrimination and a lack of resources on educating disadvantaged girls, as a result of poverty. The gender imbalance and the lack of education for children made it easier for an estimated 1.2 million children to become victims of CSE. However, India s government is extremely vulnerable to corruption. Reigning from a history of misogynistic beliefs, India s government is biased against women and children who report trafficking. Plus, it is all too easy for traffickers to bribe police and other law enforcement agents. Experts suggest that to effectively deal with sex trafficking that India s government should address historic patterns of discrimination and focus increased resources on educating disadvantaged girls. However, many believe that non criminalization child sex trafficking victims should be the place to start the fight against sex trafficking. This paper will establish that India needs to be able to efficiently deal with corruption in their government to effectively deal with sexual exploitation of women and children. The Cause and Effects of Sex Trafficking There are many causes of sex trafficking in India.

In some of the paintings, backgrounds of looming clouds and ridged tree bark are as in focus as the glass containers in the foreground, merging the two in a poetic, scrupulously accurate, yet slightly unreal manner. Salinger shows through Holden Caulfield how people cannot help being phony and fake, no matter how diligently they try. Phoniness cannot be overcome by any man, including Holden, even though he loathes people who are phony and do not speak their true mind. In search for a solution, Holden hid from the real world and felt extreme loneliness, and he broke down because he wanted the impossible. J.D. Salinger shows the lack of connection between people, especially during times of trauma and depression through Holden s obsession with the phoniness of the world, which leads Holden down a dark path because there is no way to keep the world or people in general in a state of innocence. In the novel, phoniness is recounted as when things are fake and unrealistic and when people do not speak their true mind. Holden believes that everyone and most things, but himself, are phony. • 16. Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( Mri ) Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful medical imaging modality which gives high spatial resolution images without radiation risk. MRI acquires signals from hydrogen protons of subject. Under external static magnetic field (B0), the spins of hydrogen protons precess with a Larmor frequency, while they align parallel to the direction of B0. The spins align antiparallel to the direction of B0 when additional radio frequency (RF) pulse with the Larmer requency is ap plied. After RF pulse is removed, the protons relax through the recovery of mag netization parallel to the direction of B0 (longitudinal or T1 relaxation) and the de cay of transverse magnetization caused by the de phasing of the spins (transverse or T2 relaxation) [4]. The tissue specific parameters of proton density, T1 relaxa tion, and T2 relaxation gives contrast to the MR images. Due to this principle, MRI gives great spatial resolution for soft tissues which contain more water molecules. The major drawback of this technique is its relatively poor sensitivity, due to the weak signal from protons [5]. T1 and T2 contrast agents which shorten relaxation times have been developed to overcome its poor sensitivity and improve specifici ty. Gd(III) chelates are the most widely used T1 contrast agents in clinical applica tions [6]. Although Gd(III) chelates have good paramagnetic property and short en T1 relaxation, the toxicity of gadolinium ions and their rapid renal clearance limit their use [7]. To reduce

Race And Race Kamila Hilal The question at the center of this article is whether or not children between 5 and 6 years of age (in comparison to adults and children between 10 and 11 years of age) consider race to be a stable over time. This concept is important in understanding both the change in cognitive development of children as well as the significances of difference in social groups as a factor in understanding race. This controlled experimental study used white children ages 10 11, white children ages 5 6, white adults, and children (ages 5 6) of a racial minority. All participants were shown pictures of a young child as well as two grown ups and asked which of the two that young child will grow up to be (with both emotion and race of the images ... I believe the design is very reasonable and it is able to address the question well though perhaps within each of the four tested groups, the participants themselves could have been selected from various socioeconomic groups (white children ages 5 6 from different socioeconomic backgrounds, children ages 5 6 of a racial minority from different socioeconomic backgrounds, etc...). The experiment shows an implication that although there is a cognitive component with developing the understanding that race is stable, there is a great social component that is presented by the difference between the two 5 6 year old groups. Is it because children of a racial minority may be more likely to be educated by their parents on the concept of race? Is there also a socio economic component to this understanding. The article stated that the participants were recruited from the same region though a region is ambiguous. It would be interesting to see diversity of socio economic backgrounds within each of the groups (of course, new groups would need to be created in order to test for a socio economic factor). Does the socio economic background of a child from each of the groups affect their understanding of race in comparison between groups and/or within the group members? In addition, it would be interesting to further divide each group of children by

Analysis Of Robert Darnton s Workers Revolt Chiara Maddison The essay titled Workers Revolt: The Great Cat Massacre of the Rue Saint SГ©verin by Robert Darnton discusses a massacre of cats that, according to the worker Nicolas Contat, took place in Paris in the first half of the 1700s. Contat s writes about two apprentices, Jerome and LГ©veille. They had poor living conditions, were given food scraps to eat, and they had to deal with the master and their superiors. On top of all this, during the night stray cats would howl, keeping them awake. One day LГ©veille decided to crawl along the roof until he got near the master s bedroom and began to howl with the cats. The aster and his wife became convinced that they were being bewitched and ordered the apprentices to get rid of the cats. They chased cats of rooftops, hit them with iron bars, and trapped them in sacks. They also performed mock trials where the rest of the workshop would join in and hang the cats with a noose. Although to us this seems like a horrific act of violence, the workers turned it into a celebration. These different views of the same event exist because of the different societies. The hatred these workers had for the bourgeois, popular celebrations, and the things that cats symbolized all contributed to the humor of the cat massacre. We must first understand these to be able to understand the cat massacre. The first thing that people must know about this time is the situation of workers. The positively charged residues present on chitosan attract the negatively charged cell membranes of erythrocytes and thrombocytes, creating a cross linkage of said cells and then the formation of a thrombus. Chitosan is also biodegradable and is broken down inside the host. It also induces an immune response that activates macrophages and stimulates cell proliferation leading to faster wound healing

  • 44. Ebola Persuasive Speech Many of us watched or read with horror the news of the school shooting in Washington state. Yet our bigger concern seems to be about Ebola or the Islamic State group. One of the four students injured at the Marysville Pilchuck High School in Washington state when a freshman opened fire died, increasing the shooting s death toll to two (three if you include the shooter himself). There are three other victims who are still in the hospital as a result of that shooting: Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, Andrew Fryberg, 15, both of whom are in critical condition and Nate Hatch, 14, who is in serious condition. The young girl who died is Gia Soriano; she had a gunshot to her head, was in critical condition and now, has died...she was only 14 years old. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This saddens me. Deeply. I not only wept about this girl s passing, as a woman who has two children of her own; but as a human being who sees the elephant in the room, which we as a nation and, we as parents are clearly ignoring. Our children are hurting. The shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School in Washington state was the 38th(!) school shooting this year in the United States. Looking back, on this year, and many others; it seems theses shootings bring up discussion, dialogue and controversy about the following issues; a) Guns b) Mental Illness c)
  • 45. Hippocrates On The Sacred Disease Summary The passage On the Sacred Disease, is an examination into the alleged sacred disease of epilepsy. Although many of the anatomic and bodily propositions were incorrect, Hippocrates concepts were closer to the diagnostics and teachings of today than those of metaphysical reasoning. For these reasons, On the Sacred Disease provided a structural understanding of diseases in our bodies today. Hippocratesmain concepts are derived from the fact that this disease originates from a natural cause. He states , Men regard its nature and cause as divine from ignorance and wonder...this notion of divinity is kept up by their inability to comprehend it (33 35). It was this sacred disease of epilepsy that people used to connect with divine interference. Divine stimulation was never in form of a sickness or disease. These people were under the idea that sickness was not a sole presence, but rather an ailment that affects the human body and is sent by divinities. Therefore people did little to treat the affected, but rather tried to appease the so called divine powers that sent the disease. In fact, the epileptic attacks were often referred to different gods depending on the symptoms such as Poseidon, Ares, Apollo, and Hecate.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He states, the body is made to feel and undergo changes in the changes of the winds (326 327), it was conventional that there were just four elements, earth, air, fire, and water with their related traits, coldness, dryness, heat, and wetness. If these elements were present in the human body in balanced amounts, health was maintained, if not health was ravaged by the lack of an equivalence. This concept was stemmed from an idea that health was maintained by an equal rule of the bodily elements rather than dominion by a single
  • 46. Transcontinental Airways History Flight has become romanticized by humanity, it provides Freedom . Throughout the majority human history, humans have used land and water for their transportation needs. The invention of the airplane opened the use of a third medium, air. Flight only has the illusion of freeing us from earth. Airplanes would not be able to maintain flight without their ground based systems. These systems are arranged along flight corridors or airways. The Transcontinental Airway was the first major flight corridor constructed in the United States. The ground systems constructed along these corridors have made major impacts upon the landscape of the early 20th century. The United States Post Office (USPS) established the Arial Mail Transportation Service on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were lights to define the border of each landing strip, approach lights and red lights to mark obstructions to be avoided. The features found on the transcontinental were found on airways across the country. Over 18,000 miles, 15550 beacons, and 263 intermediate landing fields were built over the course of the program. The airways crossed nearly every type of terrain the country has. The manner of lights installed and where they were installed was dictated by the individual challenges of the terrain of each airway. It is hard to pin a date as to when the airway system was phased out. There was no sweeping change to cause their disappearance. Small incremental changes and advances in technology made them obsolete. Today remnants of the system still exist throughout the country, primarily in the west where development pressures were lower. The airway system pioneered by the Transcontinental is still in use today, though with a much reduced capacity, in mountainous regions of
