Descriptive Essay Volleyball Game
I felt like I could do anything. The moment was extremely surreal. I hadn't accomplished anything
so arduous in my life. The crowd's cheers were thundering through my body. I had so much
adrenaline coursing through my veins that I wasn't even weary. People were jumping up and down,
screaming in victory, and clapping so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I couldn't believe that I had
just won the State Championship volleyball game.
My seventh grade volleyball team had a fantastic season. We had won every game except one
leading up to the postseason. We were so successful since we worked well together. We exceeded in
multiple areas on and off the court. After we won all of the Regional and Sectional games, we were
headed to Tri–Valley on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We had battled with them with all our strength in two sets, for it wasn't even close (compound). The
winning point was a serve into the net by Washington. We had just won the game.
The crowd went absolutely wild, and everyone was hugging (compound). My team and I were in a
group hug in the middle of the court with our coach. When we turned to the crowd, it erupted with
applause (complex). I went over and hugged my best friend, Delaney, and we told each other that we
each did outstanding. We then were presented with medals and the State Championship trophy. We
all stood huddled on the floor, holding the trophy high above our heads. After that, all the fans and
parents came onto the floor. I could tell that my parents were ready to embrace me.
"Congratulations! I'm so proud of you. You were amazing out there! I love you so much," said my
mother.
I squeezed my mother with all of my strength. I was so glad that she was there to watch me.
"Thanks! I love you, too," I responded.
Then my father came up to me and gave me a hug, also.
"Congrats kid! That was awesome," he said with a grin.
"Thanks!" I said
It was time to take the group photo with our trophy. The team gathered in rows and smiled. We took
one holding up a one for first place and then with a double U for the win. Then the fan section
surrounded us for a group photo. After we took individual photos and the crowd calmed down, we
loaded the bus to return to Eureka in victory. We were escorted

The Unbreakable Bond In American Horse By Louise Erdrich
The Unbreakable Bond
When families are torn apart, the pain it causes can be devastating and last a lifetime. When children
are removed from a home, they can't always comprehend why they are being taken. The children
may think they did something wrong. They may not realize that it is for their own good. In this case,
Buddy wants to stay with his mother, even though their living conditions are rudimentary. Louise
Erdrich's short story "American Horse" shows how a bond between a mother and her child can be
present in less than ideal circumstances.° This is shown when Buddy hugs Albertine like a gorilla,
when he feels the satin roses, and the emergency chocolate bar.*
The hugs Buddy and Albertine share are a sensational place of happiness. Buddy clearly loves his
mother in many ways. Erdrich explains when Buddy tries to hug Albertine, "she told him to stop
hugging her like a gorilla" (17). Often when children hug their parents, a special connection is made
that can last a lifetime. When Buddy hugs his mother, he envisions her saying, "Let's get married"
(17). Young children have a special bond with their parents and it is common for a child to want to
marry one of them. That is part of the imagination of a young child. Also, a child's imagination has a
deeper, darker side. Erdrich writes that Buddy would have times when he "wished that [Albertine]
would die" (17). Buddy hates himself for thinking these thoughts, knowing that someday his wish
could come true. He

Personal Narrative: Moving To Galatia
Moving to Galatia was a big event in my life. If I wouldn't have moved, I wouldn't have my super
reliable best friend. While we do almost everything together, if you are just a bystander you would
suspect that we hate each other. The friendship we posses is uncommonly unique. Luke and I met
when I decided to do the one situation kids dread, moving their senior year. When we first knew
about each other it was from a mutual friend that I worked with. Turns out Devyn was his best
friend. We would talk about Luke and they would talk about me. Devyn told me transferring to
Galatia would be a superb decision because I would have him and Luke. When I decided that he was
right, Luke and I would talk, but nothing serious, just about Devyn. But ... Show more content on

Both of us do it together, trying to figure it out. Of course it never pays off because we still do
terrible on the homework and on the tests together. Neither one of us have passed a test yet, all year!
As admirable sports we laugh it off, but Mrs. Reed doesn't find it humorous, she doesn't expect
anything else though. Although we put in the work, we just aren't good at math but we embrace it.
Thinking about the memories we have had together, this one is my favorite. Climbing the water
tower was an experience for us. When we did it, it was a Saturday night, Luke and I had been
snapchatting all day so when he snapchatted me back, he told me to come over that he wanted to do
something. Without question, I left my house and when I arrived he told me we were waiting for it
to get darker. When the time finally arrived, he told me just to follow him. As I entered my car I
followed him to the water tower, I was a little worried and asked him what we were doing. As Luke
climbed out of his truck he grabbed a nasty, grimy, dirty piece of carpet. When I realized what he
grabbed I asked him why he needed that, he laughed and told me I'd find out in a minute. As we
walked a little ways down the road, it was getting dark and chilly

Pat On The Back Analysis
Share an example of one of the most effective "pat on the backs" you have received. Describe the
least effective. How did the two situations differ? The most effective "pat on the back" I have
received surprisingly came from my two small children. It has been a tough summer. I work full
time, I am taking classes, and I have two kids to take care of. I get up at 3am some days to study, do
papers, and get a head start on my day (as I am writing this it is 4:18am in Dallas). I get up early to
get my day started so I can spend quality time with my kids. Sometimes I feel drained and tired. I
am sure my three year old daughter might have felt that her mom looked tired but the other day she
said 'momma you are the best momma ever'. Those sweet words made my day and made what I do

She is known by everyone for being overly thankful for the smallest thing. It may be her personality
but her thank you(s) and compliments fall on deaf ears because it doesn't seem sincere. Recently, she
had asked me to help her find a form. I helped her out because I had a little time and she seemed to
be in distress because the physician wanted the form quickly. Finding the form took a little more
time than I expected but I found it and gave it to her. I handed her the form and she asked me to give
the form to the physician, and called the charge nurse to come talk to her patient. I was a little
annoyed because she was not thankful and that she was giving me orders. I handed the form and
said I have other things to do. She came around later and was so overly appreciative of all my hard
work and told me she knew I was the best person to find the form because I am a "computer

ineffective because it did not sound

The Importance Of Adaptation In Japanese Americans And...
Every human being, every animal, every plant has had to adapt in their life in order to survive.
Adaptation relates to everything, there is no life without adapting. The word adaptation means
modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions of
its environment: a heritable physical or behavioral trait that serves a specific function. Adaptation is
important because if Brent (The Burn Journals), the Japanese Americans, and Temple Grandin didn't
have adaptation they wouldn't have been able to live a normal life. One way that someone might
show adaptation in their life is when someone is born into a religious family. They adapt to going to
religious celebrations and don't think anything of it after they have been doing it through their
childhood. They have adapted to that certain schedule. There are also different ways adaptation can
be shown. The three examples from our literature will show how they have used adaptation in parts
of their life. In 1942 the Japanese Americans were relocated because of their race. They had to adapt
to a new way of life by realizing they had to work harder to just live. Temple Grandin was an
autistic young adult that was always moving. Temple had to adapt to the new surroundings every
time she moved to a new location. The Burn Journals is about a boy, named Brent Runyon, and he
tried to commit suicide by lighting himself on fire. He had to adapt to a new way of life in hospitals
and having no

Narrative Essay About My Butterfly
There was a time when my butterfly flew away. Before, I met a very special person. Really, my
attention was on his easy–going personality, goodness and charisma. On those Summer days, the
garden was full of colored flowers. Constantly, the sun went down and the moon came out; the wind
was fresh and our hearts betrayed. After, I met with my butterfly in the back room. Automatically, he
embraced me in his warm arms; my heart shake and my desires sprouted. There were shivering and
sweating. However, inside the small chamber lusting vanished; every time, I realized, it went too far.
Every morning, he looked at me and apologized. we didn't mean to hurt anybody; it was just a
magic attraction. In many other occasions, I met with my butterfly in the back room to talk and
share about feelings.
One day, in the small alcove, my butterfly touched my neck and hair, "I never met a person like you,
you are so different", he said; in a sweet and slow tone of voice. He pulled me into his arm, we
touched each other, we detailed how much we missed and loved. There was a front window, where
we walked to see the flowers in the garden. A white sheer hanged from the highest point of the wall,
it flew all around, the wind blew and the curtains fell on top of us. This is when he kissed me,
ecstasy was so high; it was difficult to stop. Silently, the flowers smell so sweet and the wind kept
blowing, while, the sheers wrapped us; we laughed and hug each other. Then, I removed the sheers

Foucault 's Modality As The Act Of Controlling How Bodies...
Foucault describes modality as the act of controlling how bodies move, the process they perform,
and how they enact them through which disciplines works. I partially agree with Foucault because
yes! There are some movements, body performance like dancing, playing musical instruments, etc.
that can be controlled, but there are some other common actions like when we are sad, we are
crying, then that sympathy part of our nature comes into play, and its almost impossible to control
our emotions and the body actions at that time. We all know that body is the subject of attention.
Now, however, the body is not subject to torture but to forces of discipline and control. It is very
weird that we treat our body like a machine. We tend to force ... Show more content on

181) People often in rural areas believe in superstition. They think that one touch from healer can
solve all the problems they are having, even that will heal all the pain. This is just bullshit. I believe
in god but not in this blind side of the society. But when it comes to the doctor, I agree that they can
really know some simple symptoms by just touching, and looking at the patient. Similarly, it's very
true that it can act as sympathy agent during the time of pain or suffering, and there is some sort of
unique sensory modality between two different people. If we put ourselves on the infant place, then
touch is the main basic tool for their learning. They can barely talk, so they feel, judge things by
touching. "Describing therapeutic practice in Yap, Throop (2012) finds that the sensory modality of
touch allows for diagnosis of pain. Among Yapese healers and patients tactility is considered a
modality for embodied inter–subjectivity." (Goodwin, pg. 2) The living body is constituted not only
by its incorporation of things, but also by its incorporation of other bodies. When we inhabit
something it is no longer an object for us but becomes part of us and pervades our relation to other
objects in the world. It shows how, in interaction, multiple

The Babadook Movie Analysis
In the movie, the Babadook, the characters express their grief that never leaves. It grows as
"monster" that one learns how to deal with because losing someone is never gets easier. These
scenes are compared and contrasted through mise–en–scè, cinematography, and editing. This scene
analysis is going relate two scenes that helps understand what one goes through after a lost. The
movie has characters that help express the misery of one that doesn't learn how to grieve in a proper
manner. How one overcomes the pain and changes for the better and slowly has better days. A
brighter day might not come tomorrow, but learning how to control your days come within time. In
the beginning of the The Babadook, a scene between the mother and child is created in a dark room
that seems to be the son, Samuel's room. The colors of the walls are dark blue, the furniture are dark
brown colors, and the sheets of the bed are dark grey. The gloomy colors of the room create a
depressing mood that expresses how Amelia, the mother is depressed. Amelia is wearing a bright
pink dress with a tan cardigan with her hair up in a low messy ponytail. She looks like she is going
to work after she drops off her son. Samuel is wearing an all–black blazer with grey shorts, and a
gold cape around his neck with a black magician hat and gold gloves. The uniform explains that he
is going to school and his interests are magic tricks.
The lighting being used is side lighting. There's a brighter side to the room that reflects on one side
of the characters' faces. The lighting helps explain that they are in dark times in their lives. It helps
the audience see how Amelia's sleep deprived that is shown earlier throughout the movie that she
couldn't wake up after her alarm rung. She struggled to get out of her bed and she put the alarm on
snooze. The frame composition is tight framing that reflects a mother and her son hugging her, but
how uncomfortable the moment is. Furthermore, the position of the camera is a high angle shot from
the Samuel's perspective looking down at his mother and Amelia's perspective is eye–level when the
camera looks at her. It shows that Samuel is standing up and his mother is on her knees dressing
him. Once Samuel hugs his

Personal Narrative: My Path With Swimming
My path with swimming was littered with many triumphs and extremely dramatic failures. The
summer of 2014 had been one of the most spectacular defeats for me by losing a championship by

making a fool of myself in front of hundreds of people. I learned my swim team had hired yet
another new coach, which I despaired at the thought of. We went through coaches faster than any
other team around and it showed. Unbeknownst to me, I was about to have the best training season I

Amelie Movie Analysis
The movie Amelie, directed by Jean–Pierre Jeunet, is a french romantic comedy that circles around
the main character, Amelie. She is the only child of a distant father and deceased mother. At the age
of six, her father, who is a doctor, diagnosed Amelie with a heart condition, but it was really just her
heart race increasing when he touched her. She was not used to physical contact with their detached
relationship. This made him think she was too fragile for school, so she became comfortable living
in solitude, developing a wonderful imagination. When she grew of age, she moved out and got a
job at café Montmartre. One day in her apartment, she discovers a little box in the wall in her
bathroom. She then spends time attempting to find the owner of the box, deciding to dedicate her
life to kindness. She finds him and is inspired by inspiring him. She then promotes the idea of
traveling the world to her fading father through anonymous pictures of his cherished garden gnome
around the world. She also finds a photo album, eventually falling in love with the owner of it. She
also achieves other small acts of kindness, like getting rid of her coworkers creepy ex–boyfriend for
some time, helping her neighbors sadness, and spending time with the "glass man." The movie
Temple Grandin, directed by Mick Jackson, is a biographical movie about a strong, curious, and
independent autistic woman. Similar to Amelie, Temple had a lack of parental support. She

Movie Analysis : Temple Grandin
Temple Grandin is a film that relies heavily on mise en scene to show audiences the amazing way
into which those with autism can see the world and perceive and then solve problems they are faced
with on a daily basis. The filmmakers cleverly use mise en scene to help communicate the central
theme of the film of being different, not less. It gives viewers a way to relate to Temple, to see and
understand what her world is like. They are able to spend the length of the film in her shoes and
learn what it's like to think outside the box. To allow the audience a peek into the mind of Temple,
the filmmakers had to find a way to show how she connects things in the real world to things she has
stored in her memory that allows her to make sense of the situation. One example of this is when
Temple first arrives Arizona, as she is exiting the airplane, the audience is introduced to the very
literal interpretation of the world that she has. In the scorching heat as she walks down the stairs off
the plane she not only feels the heat, she can see it. She looks around and everywhere she looks she
sees fire. Her mind interprets the heat she is feeling and automatically thinks of everything related to
heat thus showing fire. Mise en scene allows the filmmakers to properly set each scene to really
show the inner workings of Temple's mind. One great example of this is when she fixes the gate on
her aunt's farm. To any "normal" person it's just a gate that you have to get out of your car

My Family : The Most Significant Events In My Life
In everybody's life, something happens that impacts them greatly. It may be a death of a close friend,
or possibly moving to a new town. One of the most important people in my life is my sister, Jessica.
For me, my sister moving into college was the most significant event in my life. Her going to
college improved our relationship, even though neither of us knew that it could get any better than it
already was. My sister has been there for me since day one and we cherish memories that I will hold
close to my heart forever. Some of my favorite memories are when we go on family trips. Most of
the time, my sister and I end up getting annoyed with our parents so we go off and do our own thing
for a little while. Two years ago in the Bahamas, us two decided to have our own little picnic on the
beach at night. It was one of the most peaceful moments that I have shared with my sister. We also
grew up playing sports together. My sister and I both played basketball and softball together and
were on the same teams for numerous years. It was nice having someone I trusted to tell me
different aspects of my game that I could improve. The memories that I have with her are abundant
and I always look forward to seeing her just so we can create some more. All along, I knew that she
would have to eventually leave for college, but I took the summer before she left for granted. It
wasn't until I was helping her pack up all of her stuff that I realized I would not have her by my side

We may not all think alike, but understanding the differences can be what brings us closer as a

before, but this was different, it was the first time you'd be doing this in front of other people, and
the first time you'd be doing this since he acted on his feelings for you.
"There's a girl I know, he loves her so... I'm not that girl..."
Stood in the wings, one hand in yours, the other clasping the prop oil lamp, you looked over at each
other. You both smiled encouragingly, and then you were on. Barry led you forward to the front of
the stage, and as you got to your position you knelt down in front of each other.

"Oh, Barry!" And the next thing he knew, Helen's lips were on his. Barry stood there in shock, not
knowing what to do, and his eyes were wide. It was only when he saw you, tears in your eyes,
storming back into your dressing room that he came back to his senses and pushed her away.
"Barry?" Helen asked but he paid no attention, and stormed straight passed her towards you dressing

Barry knocked on your door, ignoring Helen's protests behind him. "Y/N, please let me explain!"
Silence. "Y/N, let me in, please. That wasn't me it was Helen." More silence. "Y/N, I'm coming in."
Barry opened the door and walked in to see you sat your vanity, wig off and your natural hair
tumbling down, and your face paint all messed up due to the tears streaming down your cheeks.
"Go away!"
"Just please let me explain."
"Explain what?" You turned around to face him. "That everything I felt between us wasn't there?
That all this time it wasn't me you wanted it was Helen? The fact that all this time I thought we were
friends, possibly more, but this was a complete joke between you both! Ridicule the quiet girl in the

Descriptive Essay About Love
It was a warm summer day. I was on my way to visit my best friend in South Florida. I had planned
on stopping in my old town of Flowery Branch, Georgia and take my ex–girlfriend Courtney and
her family to dinner. I haven't seen Courtney in almost five years but we have talked everyday. This
was a girl whom I had seen myself growing old with and her the same. We dated for 2 years before I
moved a couple states away. I had feared one day our love would fade but life made it clear that
despite our time apart the love only grew.
I pull up to their home and ring the door–bell. I was so anxious to see her beautiful face and
amazing figure I could barely contain myself. The door slides open and there she is, more beauty
than I had ever seen on any women, with lips full of life and eyes that could cut diamonds. We
locked eyes and I stood frozen for I had no words. She is truly stunning.
"Oh my god! You're here!" she says with a smile that seemed to turn the night to day before leaping
into my arms.
After a long warm hug, the kind I missed and mourned over for so many years, her parents came
into frame. They both loved me. Infact from what I've heard and have observed I am the only boy in
Courtney's life they approved of.
"Shall we?" Mrs. Bailey says with a smile. It is clear where she gets her beauty from.
"We shall" I respond walking to my car. They climb in and we're off.
I stop at a gas station up the street for a pack of cigarettes and some gas. After all is set and done

Short Story
I remember when it all happened, there was I, a little girl of 6 years old who would always stick
with her beautiful and young mother, Keni, but, she would rather you call her Daisy. We were at
home, my old, but sweet home of a wonderful beige color with a lot of decoration made by Mami. I
would always love to be at home, because it would always smell like her. The long and comfortable
sofas were bought by Papi, they owned a special brown color, my Mami 's favorite. That 's where we
were in that moment. My Mami was wearing the dress that I gave her as a present with my Papi 's
help, it was pink and it had a lot of flowers on it. She looked amazing. In contrary of me, I was

"Necesito que vengais, Gaby. No me están dejando entrar con las bolsas." Mami was talking in
Spanish with my aunt. My siblings and I stared at each other, we didn 't speak Spanish that much,
but we understand a little bit. Mami said we were having problems with the suitcases and she
needed my aunt to come. "Esta bien, aqui te espero," she ended the call and she came to us. "Aunt
Gaby is coming to say her last goodbye, guys," she tried to hide her stress, I know it.
"Is everything okay, Mami?" I asked her, "Are you okay?" asked twice. She looked at me with a
little smile while she was nodding her head. She got closer to us and she gave us a big panda hug.
We were on the airplane now, after my aunt left, we got ready to go to Mexico and Mami now
looked calm. The people on the airplane were telling us how to react in case of a bad moment, they
were saying more and more, but I just didn 't care.
"We can rest now, my babies, it 's going to be a long trip." Mami said. We got as comfortable as we
can, we were tired already and Mami was more. So, now we just wanted to rest and hope that our

Why Do People Obey Consent?
We as individuals don't really know the benefits of hugging a person. In other words, we hug people
in our lives whether it's a family member, relative, friend or someone you know, for a reason. That
reason can be happiness, sadness, or just to comfort someone. However, due to a team of researchers
we have found another reason to hug someone that is beneficial to both the person who is hugging
someone and the person being hugged. But according to Carnegie Mellon University, hug–a–day
can prevent a person visiting a doctor often. According to the article, researchers such as Robert E.
Doherty and Sheldon Cohen researched for the benefits of hug's trying to find out whether hugging
someone is a form of social support, preventing individuals from getting stressed and sick.
Researchers then began to experiment to get the information for the research being conducted. Since

Essay The Best Man For the Job
The Best Man For the Job
I found Othello, the 1995 film, to be a close adaptation of the written play read in class, but in the
part of Othello there are notable variances between the film and the written play that may be
accounted for by the actor's interpretation of Othello. Through his persona, Lawrence Fishburn
portrayed Othello as commanding more clout in the film than he did in the written play, and
Fishburn portrayed Othello as having less emotional intimacy with Desdemona in the film than he
did in the written play.
When Othello is summoned before the Duke to answer Brabantio's charges of thievery, he exhibits
much clout, as he appears calm and composed in the filmed version. Fishburn's interpretation of the

When Othello enters the room there is nothing to signify his demeanor in the written play, but under
the circumstances the reader is lead to think that he would be the least bit nervous since his life is at
stake. Further, as Othello address the Duke in the written play, the reader sees the humbling words:
(1)"Most potent, grave, and reverend signiors, My very noble and approved good masters." These
appear to be the words of one in search of mercy from his judges. Furthermore, when he recounts
his history with Desdemona, there is no sign of him walking over to Brabantio and looking down on
him as he speaks of the history. Rather, the reader is inclined to think that Othello is addressing the
Duke directly because he starts recount by addressing Brabantio as "Her Father". Clearly, without
the authoritative tone of Fishburn's voice, the reader is inclined to see Othello in a state of meekness
rather than clout while he recounts his history with Desdemona to the Duke.
While Fishburn portrays Othello as having much clout in the filmed version, he portrays Othello as
having less emotional intimacy with Desdemona. When Othello rejoins with Desdemona at Cyprus,
he gives her a big hug and two long, passionate kisses, but he doesn't look into her eyes very long
before he is off greeting Montano. Fishburn appears to show more physical intimacy with
Desdemona by greeting her with

The Unbreakable Bond In American Horse By Louise Erdrich
The Unbreakable Bond
When families are torn apart, the pain can be devastating and last a lifetime. When a child is
removed from a home, they can't always comprehend why they were taken away. A child may think
they did something wrong. They may not realize that it is for their own good. In this case, Buddy
wants to stay with his mother, even though their living conditions are rudimentary. Louise Erdrich's
short story, "American Horse," shows how a bond between a mother and her child can be present in
less than ideal circumstances.° This is shown when Buddy hugs Albertine like a gorilla, when he
feels the satin roses, and the emergency chocolate bar.*
Buddy's relationship with his mother seems very strong. Buddy clearly loves his mother in many
ways. Erdrich explains that when Buddy tries to hug Albertine, "she told him to stop hugging her
like a gorilla" (17). Often, when children hug their parents, a special connection is made that can last
a lifetime. Sometimes when Buddy hugs his mother he would envision her saying, "Let's get
married" (17). Young children have a special bond with their parents and it isn't uncommon for a
child to want to marry one of them. That is part of the imagination of a young child. Also, a child's
imagination can have a deeper darker side. Erdrich displays that Buddy would have times when he
"wished that she [Albertine] would die" (17). Buddy hates himself for thinking those thoughts
knowing that someday his wish could come true. He embraces

Adaptation Is Important Because If Brent ( The Burn )
Every human being, every animal, every plant has had to adapt in their life in order to survive.
Adaptation relates to everything, there is no life without adapting. The word adaptation means
modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions of
its environment: a heritable physical or behavioral trait that serves a specific function. One way that
someone might show adaptation in their life is when someone is born into a religious family. They
adapt to going to religious celebrations and don't think anything of it after they have been doing it
through their childhood. They have adapted to that certain schedule. There are also different ways
adaptation can be shown. Adaptation is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

different barns and ridden nineteen different horses. I have finally found the horse love of my life
and found the best friends anyone could ever ask for at the last barn that I find myself there as much
as I can and spend almost everyday I have there in the summer. The horse I am currently riding is
the craziest but one of the sweetest horses you'll ever meet. This past year me and Stormy competed
in the waupaca county fair and really well for our first (and hopefully not the last) show. I got to
show with my best friends and it's not a memory to forget like playing in the corn pit with Kendra
and Carlee and finding out me and my horse are really good at pole bending.
The course of our show was five days horses got there on Wednesday and left on Sunday. But our

until like 2:00 PM and had to rush to get my brother from his friends house and rush over to
Connie's and get stormy ready and watched my horse go crazy and then brought her to the
fairgrounds. By the time we got there it was like 5:30 . Than got everything organized and rode until
it was dark out. The next day was and adventure in it's own self we had the jumping practice and I

My Last Day At School
7:49 A.M.
I bent down in front of my locker, putting my math quiz into its proper binder. A pair of burgundy
colored Bearpaws appeared in my peripheral view, "Jules, there's something I need to tell you." I
looked up to meet my best friend of three years eyes, and they were full of tears.
"What is it Rae?" I asked, slightly annoyed that she was crying in the hallway. I hated the way
people stared at her, it made me uncomfortable, like everyone was trying to figure out what was
going on. Whenever this happened I wanted to scoop her up and run down to a dark passage or
corner of the school and hide.
"She's not coming back." she said shaking her head "Yesterday was her last day."
I pulled her into a hug, and clung to her. It was for her. Mostly. Hugs kept me grounded, they kept
me here, instead of some other world playing out frightening things in my mind. My knees shook a
little bit, but nobody noticed this tiny expression of anxiety. She curled her face into my neck, and
let out a little sob. We held on for a few more seconds and then she slipped out of my grasp and sank
onto the floor, curling up in a ball underneath one of the hallway desks. The shy part of my heart
sank, there was going to be a scene.
"Rae do you wanna go to the consular?" I asked, praying we could slip away before people started to
notice.
She shook her head violently, "No."
I sighed internally and knelt down next to her, just being there usually made a difference, and even
though she wouldn't let me

Temple Grandin Reflection
Temple Grandin was diagnosed with autism when she was four years old. The doctors told her
mother that Temple should be put in an institution because she would likely never learn to talk.
Fortunately for her, Mrs. Grandin refused to institutionalize her daughter and decided to do
everything within her power to teach Temple how to live a somewhat normal life. I would like to
think I would do the same thing if I were put in that situation, but it must have been extremely
difficult and at times, somewhat frustrating, for Mrs. Grandin. Growing up, Temple did not have an
easy life. She was often mocked by her classmates and was actually expelled from a school because

This caused a dilemma for Temple, and she decided that if she could not have her squeeze machine,
she would not be remaining at the school. In order to have her machine, she had to conduct an

remained at the school. After graduating, Temple went studied cattle and the different meanings of
their mooing. She developed a quicker and more cost–effective way to test and prod the cattle, but
getting people to actually believe her was a major challenge. She eventually built her idea, but it was

visited her science teaching from when she was in boarding school. After her visit, she received a

After attending the funeral, she went back to where she was staying and conquered one of her fears:

man who worked at a slaughterhouse. Through this connection, Temple was able to propose her
ideas for slaughtering cattle. These ideas were accepted and it completely changed the way things
were being done. The movie ends with Temple telling her story at an autism convention. She helps
people understand why autistic people do the things that they do. It tells that she later went on

Narrative Essay About The Little Panda
Hi, I am an Elephant
And there's this friend of mine who's a little Panda.
We were sitting there on the edge of the world, having cold coffee. and we lived a life or, actually
four or three.
The first one was when the wind was calm when we enjoyed it for a little while but suddenly a
storm came and flew away the little Panda. And me, the Elephant, ran to catch him, and I hold his
hands until the storm passed. I told him to stay strong kiddo because, from the inside, you are still
this strong–strong girl, living an adventurous life. Working harder every day for a better future for a
better life. You are a warrior, and this is nothing for you.
Well, silly me, he's just a little panda and it was just a windy storm. Wasn't it ;–)
And eventually, it did pass. Woho :D
The second eternity was when the storm passed And then there was this rain, that the little panda
and I, The Elephant enjoyed under the apple tree.
We enjoyed it like it was a really cool story of memories, moments, things we love, people we love,
like the moments of joy and the comfort of little sorrows. Like each raindrop was a moment of the
adventure itself. We were talking under this apple tree, like two Human–best–friends having a happy
conversation about life and stuff, like two Human–best–friends talking about their soul companion,
like two Human–best–friends who don't need topics to talk, it was just about random happy and
comforting things.

What Is Self Care? Essay
What is Self–Care?
Self–care is one of those words that therapists use, forgetting that the rest of the population has
never heard of it. Basically, it is a noun referring to taking care of your own emotional well–being.
Self–Care works on two levels. First, the obvious– it allows you to take care of yourself, to nurture
yourself. Second, it subconsciously sends you the message that you deserve to be taken care of,
which can help increase your self–esteem, self–worth, and happiness.
Self–care doesn 't need to take up a lot of time. Even the busiest person could build in five minutes a
day to do some deep–breathing or to call a friend. Explore how self–care can fit into your schedule.
Show yourself that YOU are just as important as the other responsibilities in your life.
Self–care can mean adding one thing into each day that you can look forward to. It could be
watching your favorite TV show, taking an extra long shower, or spending five minutes in silence–
whatever works for you.
Just because you 're feeling happy, doesn 't mean that self–care isn 't necessary. It is still important to
pay attention to your needs and feelings, and to nurture yourself.
Thoughts and Behaviors...
Self–care isn 't just about activities, it can include any thoughts or behaviors. For instance, it
includes stopping yourself from using negative self–talk. It also includes setting and enforcing
boundaries in your relationships (with parents, friends, romantic partners, colleagues) that

I just got finished packing, tomorrow my sister, Aaron, and I are moving to Seoul to live with our

We just got off the plane and were walking to meet up with BOYFRIEND's manager. When we

everyone.
"We've missed you two so much!" our brothers said as they gave us a huge bear hug.
"We've missed you too!" we breathed as the hug was too tight.
They let go, realizing they were squeezing too hard and apologizing. They told us we had to get
going as they grabbed our suitcases. We haven't been in Seoul for about 4 years, due to our mother's
job, and we forgot how beautiful is was.

The Day My Best Friend Left I didn't want to wake up, and knowing my only friend was leaving for
the Air Force didn't help any either. Allie was already up and ready by the time I opened my eyes,
despite the fact we stayed up all night talking and laughing. She was running around the house

was so excited to leave for basic training, but her dad and I were obviously distraught. I mean don't

bags packed we all piled into the car and we were on our way to her recruiter's office in Danville.
The car ride was kind of silent, but every once and a while Allie and I would start talking. Her dad
didn't talk much the whole way there, although he doesn't normally talk a lot anyways. I was trying
to stay positive and happy, but deep down I just wanted to burst into tears. Despite the fact I was on
the verge of an emotional breakdown I kept talking to Allie and making jokes about random things.

When I was blinded, I was using her strengths of pulling and pushing to know how far or how sharp

with a big firm hug rather than a handshake or the kisses on the cheek. I feel by hugging it gets a
more deepening connection that no other greeting cues can give. It shows affection and care for the
person but everyone's perception is different about hugs because it can be an expression language of
more than friends feeling and some will take it too seriously if not too personal. Only a handful of

was greeted with what seemed a thousand hugs and the only thing I could think of was, I barely

every nerve in my body to not crash down and cry again, I felt a bit of happiness from these peoples'

Dr Temple Grandin Analysis
Society has created an environment where those with different abilities struggle to be accepted.
Doctor Temple Grandin is a remarkable woman who has defied what most perceive when they see
someone with autism. From the time, Temple was young she proved doctors wrong. While in
boarding school and later in college a few of her professors did not believe her observations or in
her work with cattle. They simply did not comprehend the enormous amount of detail her brain
absorbed and her connection to animals which allowed her to gain access to this knowledge. Temple
did not let autism outline her life or what her life ought to be like.

to ignore the negativity. Her bravery to march into a slaughterhouse to see how improvements could
be made is something I would assume to be impossible. It took courage for her to continue to go to
the feedlot even after workers put bull testicles on her truck. Though, who accepted her and could
see her amazing gift, they did not always understand how her mind worked but they accepted her for
who she was. Others soon realized what a unique ability she had. Such as, the reporter from the
Arizona Farmer Ranchman who said her cattle dip was a

Perseverance Essay Examples
"Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other." My concept is
perseverance. The definition perseverance from the Webster dictionary– "continued effort to do or
achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition." Synonyms for perseverance are,
"tenacity" and "determination". Antonyms for perseverance are, "apathy" and "cowardice". A person
needs to persevere so that they can reach their goals and succeed in life and live how they want to
live. Perseverance looks like, someone wanting a promotion. So they work harder and harder to
impress their superiors so that hopefully they give them a promotion. Perseverance does not look
like, wanting a promotion, but not working hard to impress your ... Show more content on

At college, Temple brings her squeeze machine, but the other kids do not like machine. The machine
makes the other students feel uncomfortable. Temple loses the squeeze machine so she goes to the
head person at the college and asks for the machine back. He says not, but she convinces him to let
her do research and show him that the machine actually make people feel better. By doing this
research, she is persevering to keep her squeeze machine because it makes her feel better and it
shows later in the movie that the squeeze machine is actually mostly beneficial.
In A Lesson Before Dying, we see Grant, one of the main protagonists, take on the toughest thing he
will ever do with his life; this being, convincing a teen black boy that he is not a hog, and that he is a
man that is going to die in the electric chair. At the start of the book, we see that Grant wants
nothing to do with this kid, he would rather go home and lay around; but he doesn't. Everytime he
goes, the easier for him it gets for him to go and talk to Jefferson. By going every single time he
says he will go, Grant is persevering. He when at the prison, he tries to talk to Jefferson as well. At
first he talks little if nothing at all to Grant, the second time, about the same. The third time, he talks
a little bit to Grant. And by the end of this book, we see that Grant could have a full conversation
with Jefferson, who at the

The Event That Changed My Life Essay
Describe an event from your past and how it shaped you as a person.   I'm a victim, I thought.
The books were closed. The papers were signed. It was official. The next school year, I would enter
the fifth grade –– again.   I knew I was gifted and capable of more, but after we moved from
urban Oklahoma City to Tulsa before the fourth grade, my intelligence was meaningless. Suburban–
school luxuries like computers, advanced math, and special ways to learn English flooded my brain.
Homework was an afterthought.   Homework was not an afterthought to my fifth grade
teacher, however. With her annoying, dogged persistency, Mrs. Thomas gave me "zero slips"
whenever I "forgot" an assignment. She was on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tears welled up in my eyes but anger manifest itself instead. It's not fair. My grades may be bad, I
grumbled angrily, but I'm NOT stupid.   Yet stupidly, I refused to ask for help.
Stupidly, I let the entire year pass me by.   The end of school came eventually, and I
abandoned dreams of the sixth grade. Luckily, I was transferring to another elementary school, but
this offered me little consolation. Only dummies have to repeat a grade.   The final bell rang,
and students erupted in a joyful chorus of cheers as summer break began. I sang a melancholy dirge
of self–pity. My bitterness increased as I waited for my mother to pick me up. She came at last and I
jumped up, anxious to leave forever. Again, Mrs. Thomas thwarted my plans; she came outside to
talk to my mother, undoubtedly about my ignominious fate. As they murmured, I viewed the co–
conspirators with hostile eyes. I'm a victim, the final sigh of my fifth grade year whispered wearily.
Before I could escape, she had to heighten my torture with a few words of wisdom and the
obligatory good–bye. I ignored her words as she stood before me. Her words had not averted this
horrible moment. I prayed that she was done, but soon she had her arms around me. Not strangling
my incorrigible neck, but hugging my ten–year old shoulders.   I remember few details of this
hug. First,

The crowd's cheers were thundering through my body. I had so much adrenaline coursing through my veins that I wasn't even weary. People were jumping up and down, screaming in victory, and clapping so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I couldn't believe that I had just won the State Championship volleyball game. My seventh grade volleyball team had a fantastic season. We had won every game except one leading up to the postseason. We were so successful since we worked well together. We exceeded in multiple areas on and off the court. After we won all of the Regional and Sectional games, we were headed to Tri–Valley on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The crowd went absolutely wild, and everyone was hugging (compound). My team and I were in a group hug in the middle of the court with our coach. When we turned to the crowd, it erupted with applause (complex). I went over and hugged my best friend, Delaney, and we told each other that we each did outstanding. We then were presented with medals and the State Championship trophy. We all stood huddled on the floor, holding the trophy high above our heads. After that, all the fans and parents came onto the floor. I could tell that my parents were ready to embrace me. "Congratulations! I'm so proud of you. You were amazing out there! I love you so much," said my mother. I squeezed my mother with all of my strength. I was so glad that she was there to watch me. "Thanks! I love you, too," I responded. Then my father came up to me and gave me a hug, also. "Congrats kid! That was awesome," he said with a grin. "Thanks!" I said It was time to take the group photo with our trophy. The team gathered in rows and smiled. We took one holding up a one for first place and then with a double U for the win. Then the fan section surrounded us for a group photo. • 9. The Unbreakable Bond In American Horse By Louise Erdrich The Unbreakable Bond When families are torn apart, the pain it causes can be devastating and last a lifetime. When children are removed from a home, they can't always comprehend why they are being taken. The children may think they did something wrong. They may not realize that it is for their own good. In this case, Buddy wants to stay with his mother, even though their living conditions are rudimentary. Louise Erdrich's short story "American Horse" shows how a bond between a mother and her child can be present in less than ideal circumstances.° This is shown when Buddy hugs Albertine like a gorilla, when he feels the satin roses, and the emergency chocolate bar.* The hugs Buddy and Albertine share are a sensational place of happiness. Buddy clearly loves his mother in many ways. Erdrich explains when Buddy tries to hug Albertine, "she told him to stop hugging her like a gorilla" (17). Often when children hug their parents, a special connection is made that can last a lifetime. When Buddy hugs his mother, he envisions her saying, "Let's get married" (17). Young children have a special bond with their parents and it is common for a child to want to marry one of them. That is part of the imagination of a young child. Also, a child's imagination has a deeper, darker side. Erdrich writes that Buddy would have times when he "wished that [Albertine] would die" (17). Buddy hates himself for thinking these thoughts, knowing that someday his wish could come true. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While we do almost everything together, if you are just a bystander you would suspect that we hate each other. The friendship we posses is uncommonly unique. Luke and I met when I decided to do the one situation kids dread, moving their senior year. When we first knew about each other it was from a mutual friend that I worked with. Turns out Devyn was his best friend. We would talk about Luke and they would talk about me. Devyn told me transferring to Galatia would be a superb decision because I would have him and Luke. Of course it never pays off because we still do terrible on the homework and on the tests together. Neither one of us have passed a test yet, all year! As admirable sports we laugh it off, but Mrs. Reed doesn't find it humorous, she doesn't expect anything else though. Although we put in the work, we just aren't good at math but we embrace it. Thinking about the memories we have had together, this one is my favorite. Climbing the water tower was an experience for us. When we did it, it was a Saturday night, Luke and I had been snapchatting all day so when he snapchatted me back, he told me to come over that he wanted to do something. Without question, I left my house and when I arrived he told me we were waiting for it to get darker. When the time finally arrived, he told me just to follow him. As I entered my car I followed him to the water tower, I was a little worried and asked him what we were doing. As Luke climbed out of his truck he grabbed a nasty, grimy, dirty piece of carpet. When I realized what he grabbed I asked him why he needed that, he laughed and told me I'd find out in a minute. As we walked a little ways down the road, it was getting dark and chilly ... The most effective "pat on the back" I have received surprisingly came from my two small children. It has been a tough summer. I work full time, I am taking classes, and I have two kids to take care of. I get up at 3am some days to study, do papers, and get a head start on my day (as I am writing this it is 4:18am in Dallas). I get up early to get my day started so I can spend quality time with my kids. Sometimes I feel drained and tired. Finding the form took a little more time than I expected but I found it and gave it to her. I handed her the form and she asked me to give the form to the physician, and called the charge nurse to come talk to her patient. I was a little annoyed because she was not thankful and that she was giving me orders. I handed the form and said I have other things to do. She came around later and was so overly appreciative of all my hard work and told me she knew I was the best person to find the form because I am a "computer genius"!!! • 21. The Importance Of Adaptation In Japanese Americans And... Every human being, every animal, every plant has had to adapt in their life in order to survive. Adaptation relates to everything, there is no life without adapting. The word adaptation means modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions of its environment: a heritable physical or behavioral trait that serves a specific function. Adaptation is important because if Brent (The Burn Journals), the Japanese Americans, and Temple Grandin didn't have adaptation they wouldn't have been able to live a normal life. One way that someone might show adaptation in their life is when someone is born into a religious family. They adapt to going to religious celebrations and don't think anything of it after they have been doing it through their childhood. They have adapted to that certain schedule. There are also different ways adaptation can be shown. The three examples from our literature will show how they have used adaptation in parts of their life. In 1942 the Japanese Americans were relocated because of their race. They had to adapt to a new way of life by realizing they had to work harder to just live. Temple Grandin was an autistic young adult that was always moving. Temple had to adapt to the new surroundings every time she moved to a new location. The Burn Journals is about a boy, named Brent Runyon, and he tried to commit suicide by lighting himself on fire. He had to adapt to a new way of life in hospitals and having no ... • 25. Narrative Essay About My Butterfly There was a time when my butterfly flew away. Before, I met a very special person. Really, my attention was on his easy–going personality, goodness and charisma. On those Summer days, the garden was full of colored flowers. Constantly, the sun went down and the moon came out; the wind was fresh and our hearts betrayed. After, I met with my butterfly in the back room. Automatically, he embraced me in his warm arms; my heart shake and my desires sprouted. There were shivering and sweating. However, inside the small chamber lusting vanished; every time, I realized, it went too far. Every morning, he looked at me and apologized. we didn't mean to hurt anybody; it was just a magic attraction. In many other occasions, I met with my butterfly in the back room to talk and share about feelings. One day, in the small alcove, my butterfly touched my neck and hair, "I never met a person like you, you are so different", he said; in a sweet and slow tone of voice. He pulled me into his arm, we touched each other, we detailed how much we missed and loved. There was a front window, where we walked to see the flowers in the garden. A white sheer hanged from the highest point of the wall, it flew all around, the wind blew and the curtains fell on top of us. This is when he kissed me, ecstasy was so high; it was difficult to stop. Silently, the flowers smell so sweet and the wind kept blowing, while, the sheers wrapped us; we laughed and hug each other. Foucault describes modality as the act of controlling how bodies move, the process they perform, and how they enact them through which disciplines works. I partially agree with Foucault because yes! There are some movements, body performance like dancing, playing musical instruments, etc. that can be controlled, but there are some other common actions like when we are sad, we are crying, then that sympathy part of our nature comes into play, and its almost impossible to control our emotions and the body actions at that time. We all know that body is the subject of attention. Now, however, the body is not subject to torture but to forces of discipline and control. It is very weird that we treat our body like a machine. We tend to force ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 181) People often in rural areas believe in superstition. They think that one touch from healer can solve all the problems they are having, even that will heal all the pain. This is just bullshit. I believe in god but not in this blind side of the society. But when it comes to the doctor, I agree that they can really know some simple symptoms by just touching, and looking at the patient. Similarly, it's very true that it can act as sympathy agent during the time of pain or suffering, and there is some sort of unique sensory modality between two different people. If we put ourselves on the infant place, then touch is the main basic tool for their learning. They can barely talk, so they feel, judge things by touching. "Describing therapeutic practice in Yap, Throop (2012) finds that the sensory modality of touch allows for diagnosis of pain. Among Yapese healers and patients tactility is considered a modality for embodied inter–subjectivity." (Goodwin, pg. 2) The living body is constituted not only by its incorporation of things, but also by its incorporation of other bodies. When we inhabit something it is no longer an object for us but becomes part of us and pervades our relation to other objects in the world. It shows how, in interaction, multiple ... • 33. The Babadook Movie Analysis In the movie, the Babadook, the characters express their grief that never leaves. It grows as "monster" that one learns how to deal with because losing someone is never gets easier. These scenes are compared and contrasted through mise–en–scè, cinematography, and editing. This scene analysis is going relate two scenes that helps understand what one goes through after a lost. The movie has characters that help express the misery of one that doesn't learn how to grieve in a proper manner. How one overcomes the pain and changes for the better and slowly has better days. A brighter day might not come tomorrow, but learning how to control your days come within time. In the beginning of the The Babadook, a scene between the mother and child is created in a dark room that seems to be the son, Samuel's room. The colors of the walls are dark blue, the furniture are dark brown colors, and the sheets of the bed are dark grey. The gloomy colors of the room create a depressing mood that expresses how Amelia, the mother is depressed. Amelia is wearing a bright pink dress with a tan cardigan with her hair up in a low messy ponytail. She looks like she is going to work after she drops off her son. Samuel is wearing an all–black blazer with grey shorts, and a gold cape around his neck with a black magician hat and gold gloves. The uniform explains that he is going to school and his interests are magic tricks. The lighting being used is side lighting. There's a brighter side to the room that reflects on one side of the characters' faces. The lighting helps explain that they are in dark times in their lives. It helps the audience see how Amelia's sleep deprived that is shown earlier throughout the movie that she couldn't wake up after her alarm rung. She struggled to get out of her bed and she put the alarm on snooze. The frame composition is tight framing that reflects a mother and her son hugging her, but how uncomfortable the moment is. Furthermore, the position of the camera is a high angle shot from the Samuel's perspective looking down at his mother and Amelia's perspective is eye–level when the camera looks at her. It shows that Samuel is standing up and his mother is on her knees dressing him. Once Samuel hugs his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The summer of 2014 had been one of the most spectacular defeats for me by losing a championship by 0.01. As I set myself up for the next summer of 2015, I didn't want to focus on anything except not making a fool of myself in front of hundreds of people. I learned my swim team had hired yet another new coach, which I despaired at the thought of. We went through coaches faster than any other team around and it showed. Unbeknownst to me, I was about to have the best training season I had ever received. She is the only child of a distant father and deceased mother. At the age of six, her father, who is a doctor, diagnosed Amelie with a heart condition, but it was really just her heart race increasing when he touched her. She was not used to physical contact with their detached relationship. This made him think she was too fragile for school, so she became comfortable living in solitude, developing a wonderful imagination. When she grew of age, she moved out and got a job at café Montmartre. One day in her apartment, she discovers a little box in the wall in her bathroom. She then spends time attempting to find the owner of the box, deciding to dedicate her life to kindness. She finds him and is inspired by inspiring him. She then promotes the idea of traveling the world to her fading father through anonymous pictures of his cherished garden gnome around the world. She also finds a photo album, eventually falling in love with the owner of it. She also achieves other small acts of kindness, like getting rid of her coworkers creepy ex–boyfriend for some time, helping her neighbors sadness, and spending time with the "glass man." The movie Temple Grandin, directed by Mick Jackson, is a biographical movie about a strong, curious, and independent autistic woman. Similar to Amelie, Temple had a lack of parental support. • 58. Movie Analysis : Temple Grandin Temple Grandin is a film that relies heavily on mise en scene to show audiences the amazing way into which those with autism can see the world and perceive and then solve problems they are faced with on a daily basis. The filmmakers cleverly use mise en scene to help communicate the central theme of the film of being different, not less. It gives viewers a way to relate to Temple, to see and understand what her world is like. They are able to spend the length of the film in her shoes and learn what it's like to think outside the box. To allow the audience a peek into the mind of Temple, the filmmakers had to find a way to show how she connects things in the real world to things she has stored in her memory that allows her to make sense of the situation. One example of this is when Temple first arrives Arizona, as she is exiting the airplane, the audience is introduced to the very literal interpretation of the world that she has. In the scorching heat as she walks down the stairs off the plane she not only feels the heat, she can see it. She looks around and everywhere she looks she sees fire. Her mind interprets the heat she is feeling and automatically thinks of everything related to heat thus showing fire. Mise en scene allows the filmmakers to properly set each scene to really show the inner workings of Temple's mind. One great example of this is when she fixes the gate on her aunt's farm. To any "normal" person it's just a gate that you have to get out of your car ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her going to college improved our relationship, even though neither of us knew that it could get any better than it already was. My sister has been there for me since day one and we cherish memories that I will hold close to my heart forever. Some of my favorite memories are when we go on family trips. Most of the time, my sister and I end up getting annoyed with our parents so we go off and do our own thing for a little while. Two years ago in the Bahamas, us two decided to have our own little picnic on the beach at night. It was one of the most peaceful moments that I have shared with my sister. We also grew up playing sports together. My sister and I both played basketball and softball together and were on the same teams for numerous years. It was nice having someone I trusted to tell me different aspects of my game that I could improve. The memories that I have with her are abundant and I always look forward to seeing her just so we can create some more. Through his persona, Lawrence Fishburn portrayed Othello as commanding more clout in the film than he did in the written play, and Fishburn portrayed Othello as having less emotional intimacy with Desdemona in the film than he did in the written play. When Othello enters the room there is nothing to signify his demeanor in the written play, but under the circumstances the reader is lead to think that he would be the least bit nervous since his life is at stake. Further, as Othello address the Duke in the written play, the reader sees the humbling words: (1)"Most potent, grave, and reverend signiors, My very noble and approved good masters." These appear to be the words of one in search of mercy from his judges. Furthermore, when he recounts his history with Desdemona, there is no sign of him walking over to Brabantio and looking down on him as he speaks of the history. Rather, the reader is inclined to think that Othello is addressing the Duke directly because he starts recount by addressing Brabantio as "Her Father". Clearly, without the authoritative tone of Fishburn's voice, the reader is inclined to see Othello in a state of meekness rather than clout while he recounts his history with Desdemona to the Duke. While Fishburn portrays Othello as having much clout in the filmed version, he portrays Othello as having less emotional intimacy with Desdemona. Louise Erdrich's short story, "American Horse," shows how a bond between a mother and her child can be present in less than ideal circumstances.° This is shown when Buddy hugs Albertine like a gorilla, when he feels the satin roses, and the emergency chocolate bar.* Buddy's relationship with his mother seems very strong. Buddy clearly loves his mother in many ways. Erdrich explains that when Buddy tries to hug Albertine, "she told him to stop hugging her like a gorilla" (17). Often, when children hug their parents, a special connection is made that can last a lifetime. Sometimes when Buddy hugs his mother he would envision her saying, "Let's get married" (17). Young children have a special bond with their parents and it isn't uncommon for a child to want to marry one of them. That is part of the imagination of a young child. Also, a child's imagination can have a deeper darker side. Erdrich displays that Buddy would have times when he "wished that she [Albertine] would die" (17). Buddy hates himself for thinking those thoughts knowing that someday his wish could come true. He embraces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 98. Adaptation Is Important Because If Brent ( The Burn ) Every human being, every animal, every plant has had to adapt in their life in order to survive. Adaptation relates to everything, there is no life without adapting. The word adaptation means modification of an organism or its parts that makes it more fit for existence under the conditions of its environment: a heritable physical or behavioral trait that serves a specific function. One way that someone might show adaptation in their life is when someone is born into a religious family. They adapt to going to religious celebrations and don't think anything of it after they have been doing it through their childhood. They have adapted to that certain schedule. There are also different ways adaptation can be shown. Adaptation is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... [...] We ordered some print fabric by mail and sewed curtains by hand to hang at our new windows and to cover our windows and our shelves." This quote informs that after the Japanese Americans were relocated they had to do everything for themselves. They had to sew curtains just to have some privacy. They had a "stall" to live in. The Japanese Americans needed to adapt to making and doing everything on their own. They adapted to knowing a certain schedule. "The laundry tubs were always in constant use of other families. The hot water was often gone by 9:00a.m., and all the mothers got up between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning to do their wash, all of which, including sheets, had to be done entirely by hand. We found it difficult to get the laundry by 9:00a.m., and by then every tub was taken and their long lines of people with bags of dirty laundry waiting behind each one. Then we would leave my mother to hold the tub while my sister and I rushed to the washroom where there was a better supply and carried back bucketfuls of hot water as everyone else learned to do." The quote informs that the mothers adapted to waking up early in the morning to hand–wash their family's laundry. Everyone that was doing laundry adapted to running to the washroom to grab warm water for their laundry. They also adjusted to knowing what time to do and not to do their laundry. I have finally found the horse love of my life and found the best friends anyone could ever ask for at the last barn that I find myself there as much as I can and spend almost everyday I have there in the summer. The horse I am currently riding is the craziest but one of the sweetest horses you'll ever meet. This past year me and Stormy competed in the waupaca county fair and really well for our first (and hopefully not the last) show. I got to show with my best friends and it's not a memory to forget like playing in the corn pit with Kendra and Carlee and finding out me and my horse are really good at pole bending. The course of our show was five days horses got there on Wednesday and left on Sunday. But our show day was friday. On wednesday me and my mom had to work the 4–H food and didn't get done until like 2:00 PM and had to rush to get my brother from his friends house and rush over to Connie's and get stormy ready and watched my horse go crazy and then brought her to the fairgrounds. By the time we got there it was like 5:30 . Than got everything organized and rode until it was dark out. The next day was and adventure in it's own self we had the jumping practice and I was going to do jumping or the show and I went to the practice and that's when everything went wrong. • 106. My Last Day At School 7:49 A.M. I bent down in front of my locker, putting my math quiz into its proper binder. A pair of burgundy colored Bearpaws appeared in my peripheral view, "Jules, there's something I need to tell you." I looked up to meet my best friend of three years eyes, and they were full of tears. "What is it Rae?" I asked, slightly annoyed that she was crying in the hallway. I hated the way people stared at her, it made me uncomfortable, like everyone was trying to figure out what was going on. Whenever this happened I wanted to scoop her up and run down to a dark passage or corner of the school and hide. "She's not coming back." she said shaking her head "Yesterday was her last day." I pulled her into a hug, and clung to her. It was for her. Mostly. Hugs kept me grounded, they kept me here, instead of some other world playing out frightening things in my mind. My knees shook a little bit, but nobody noticed this tiny expression of anxiety. She curled her face into my neck, and let out a little sob. We held on for a few more seconds and then she slipped out of my grasp and sank onto the floor, curling up in a ball underneath one of the hallway desks. The shy part of my heart sank, there was going to be a scene. "Rae do you wanna go to the consular?" I asked, praying we could slip away before people started to notice. She shook her head violently, "No." I sighed internally and knelt down next to her, just being there usually made a difference, and even though she wouldn't let me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The doctors told her mother that Temple should be put in an institution because she would likely never learn to talk. Fortunately for her, Mrs. Grandin refused to institutionalize her daughter and decided to do everything within her power to teach Temple how to live a somewhat normal life. I would like to think I would do the same thing if I were put in that situation, but it must have been extremely difficult and at times, somewhat frustrating, for Mrs. Grandin. Growing up, Temple did not have an easy life. She was often mocked by her classmates and was actually expelled from a school because she punched another student as a result of this mockery. When she was sent to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After graduating, Temple went studied cattle and the different meanings of their mooing. She developed a quicker and more cost–effective way to test and prod the cattle, but getting people to actually believe her was a major challenge. She eventually built her idea, but it was rearranged by some men. This reorganization resulted in the drowning of three cattle. Upset, Temple visited her science teaching from when she was in boarding school. After her visit, she received a call from her mother saying that the teacher had died. After attending the funeral, she went back to where she was staying and conquered one of her fears: automatic doors. The woman who helped her through this struggle with the door was the wife of a man who worked at a slaughterhouse. Through this connection, Temple was able to propose her ideas for slaughtering cattle. These ideas were accepted and it completely changed the way things were being done. We were sitting there on the edge of the world, having cold coffee. and we lived a life or, actually four or three. The first one was when the wind was calm when we enjoyed it for a little while but suddenly a storm came and flew away the little Panda. And me, the Elephant, ran to catch him, and I hold his hands until the storm passed. I told him to stay strong kiddo because, from the inside, you are still this strong–strong girl, living an adventurous life. Working harder every day for a better future for a better life. You are a warrior, and this is nothing for you. Well, silly me, he's just a little panda and it was just a windy storm. Wasn't it ;–) And eventually, it did pass. Woho :D The second eternity was when the storm passed And then there was this rain, that the little panda and I, The Elephant enjoyed under the apple tree. We enjoyed it like it was a really cool story of memories, moments, things we love, people we love, like the moments of joy and the comfort of little sorrows. Like each raindrop was a moment of the adventure itself. We were talking under this apple tree, like two Human–best–friends having a happy conversation about life and stuff, like two Human–best–friends talking about their soul companion, like two Human–best–friends who don't need topics to talk, it was just about random happy and comforting things. • 122. What Is Self Care? Essay What is Self–Care? Self–care is one of those words that therapists use, forgetting that the rest of the population has never heard of it. Basically, it is a noun referring to taking care of your own emotional well–being. Self–Care works on two levels. First, the obvious– it allows you to take care of yourself, to nurture yourself. Second, it subconsciously sends you the message that you deserve to be taken care of, which can help increase your self–esteem, self–worth, and happiness. Self–care doesn 't need to take up a lot of time. Even the busiest person could build in five minutes a day to do some deep–breathing or to call a friend. Explore how self–care can fit into your schedule. Show yourself that YOU are just as important as the other responsibilities in your life. Self–care can mean adding one thing into each day that you can look forward to. It could be watching your favorite TV show, taking an extra long shower, or spending five minutes in silence– whatever works for you. Just because you 're feeling happy, doesn 't mean that self–care isn 't necessary. It is still important to pay attention to your needs and feelings, and to nurture yourself. Thoughts and Behaviors... Self–care isn 't just about activities, it can include any thoughts or behaviors. For instance, it includes stopping yourself from using negative self–talk. When we walked out of the airport, we were surprised at who we saw. Instead of the manager we saw our brothers. We ran to them, giving them a huge hug, leaving our suitcases behind and in the way of everyone. "We've missed you two so much!" our brothers said as they gave us a huge bear hug. "We've missed you too!" we breathed as the hug was too tight. They let go, realizing they were squeezing too hard and apologizing. They told us we had to get going as they grabbed our suitcases. We haven't been in Seoul for about 4 years, due to our mother's job, and we forgot how beautiful is was. When we arrived at the dorm the rest of the members were waiting outside for us. Allie was already up and ready by the time I opened my eyes, despite the fact we stayed up all night talking and laughing. She was running around the house eagerly getting everything prepared before we had to leave and I was slowly getting ready.
