1) Shahzeb Pirzada welcomed participants and guests to a story narration competition organized by the English department. 2) The competition asked participants to interpret a picture and create a dramatic story based on guidelines about what led up to the event, what was happening, and the characters' feelings and thoughts. 3) Winners would receive certificates, and the event proceeded with an opening prayer, storytelling from participants, and closing remarks from the head of the English department and chief guest who announced the winners.

ASSALAAM - O - ALAIKUM.
I SHAHZEB PIRZADA, the MoC for today’s Story Narration Competition,
Summer 2011, organized by Department of English, welcome you all.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
A good story has characters in action with a beginning, middle, and an
ending .Therefore; creative imagination of participants in this
competition is based on the picture given to them earlier that you can
now see at Multimedia. Participants were asked to interpret the
picture and create as dramatic a story they can on it, with these
guidelines:
What has led up to the event shown?
What is happening at the moment?
What the characters are feeling and thinking?
What the outcome of the story was?
These guidelines are not rules, but a formula that can be used. Besides
this each participant will get 3-4 minutes to narrate his/her story.
Further, the first three position holders in today’s Story Narration
Competition will be awarded with Certificates.
