Compare And Contrast Shakespeare And Sonnet 130
Shakespeare s Lovely Sonnets
William Shakespeare is a famous playwright and poet whose pieces are still well known in the
modern world. Some of these well known pieces are his sonnets written about love. Sonnet 18 and
Sonnet 130 are examples of these love poems. These sonnets convey Shakespeare s love in different
ways. Sonnet 18 expresses superiority over another subject, and Sonnet 130 expresses uniqueness.
Although the attitudes of Sonnet 18 and Sonnet 130 are different, Shakespeare uses comparisons,
exaggerations, and vivid words to portray the message of love in both sonnets. First of all,
Shakespeare wrote Sonnet 18 to essentially complement the poem itself and his own writing. To
describe the beauty of the recipient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sonnet 130 is about Shakespeare s mistress. In this poem, he uses comparisons to describe his
mistress as ugly. One comparison that Shakespeare makes is, If hairs be wires, black wires grow
on her head. In this comparison, Shakespeare relates hairs to wires to represent the coarseness of
the hair of his mistress. When read by itself, the comparison does not display love. Yet later on in
the poem, Shakespeare explains that even though her mistress may be uglier when compared to
other women, but she is rare and unique. The fact that Shakespeare considers his love as rare
shows that he loves her. Although the comparison itself in Sonnet 130 is negative while the
comparison in Sonnet 18 is positive, both poems compare one subject to another to enhance the
feeling of the topic of the poem. To continue, Sonnet 130 also has exaggerations to amplify the
descriptions of Shakespeare s mistress. For example, when Shakespeare writes, My mistress
eyes are nothing like the sun, he shows that his mistress eyes are dull in comparison to eyes of
other people. He makes the mistress eyes seem even uglier as he uses the sun to represent other
people s eyes. Similarly to the comparison, the exaggeration gives his mistress a negative
description. Yet, towards the end of the poem, he considers his love to be rare, which displays his
love. In a similar

Lenore By Edgar Allan Poe Analysis
The Power of Conversation
Since birth, Edgar Allan Poe was forced to face faced the harsh realities of life. After his father
left the family and Poe s mother passed away when he was merely three, Poe was forced to move
from his home, Massachusetts, to live with another family in Virginia. Later, Poe gambled to earn
enough money to attend the University of Virginia, but when he returned home he found his
fiancee engaged to marry his neighbor. Poe attended military school, West Point Academy, but
was kicked out, and afterwards married his cousin who died only eleven years later
(Biography.com). These traumatic events shaped Poe as a man and writer, and caused his dark,
macabre writing style. In his poem Lenore, Edgar Allan Poe uses the ... Show more content on

Poe s poem, Lenore extends further and uniquely focuses on a man s journey to accept the loss
of his betrothed using the tone and organization of the text. The poem is organized as a
conversation in four stanzas between Guy de Vere and the narrator. The first and third stanzas
are the spoken words of the narrator and the second and fourth stanzas are the verbal responses
of Guy de Vere. Poe s decision to compose his poem in this manner provides the reader with a
direct look at the raw, bare emotions of the recently widowed man. These four stanzas allow the
reader four opportunities to stand in Guy de Vere s shoes and to hear what he hears. The reader
now can identify with the complex array of emotions and stages of grief experienced by Guy de
Vere. With each stanza in the poem, the tone changes slightly showing the gradual acceptance of
the loss by Guy de Vere. In the second stanza, de Vere s tone, created by internal sound devices
and sentence structure, is hostile, demonstrating the anger felt. The change in de Vere s tone
occurring in the fourth stanza demonstrates a major evolution in his outlook toward the future. He
finally understands that although Lenore is gone, she will be accepted in Heaven; and his life
will continue without her. By talking out his feelings through conversation, Guy de Vere finally
accepts the loss of his bride to be, showing the power that one conversation can have on someone
s life. In Poe s poem, he uses structure and sound devices to show that after the loss of a loved one,
one may attribute the death to others, but with consolation and care from others, he or she will
make peace with the

Minor Characters In Macbeth Essay
Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare, the play s genre is a tragedy. The play is about
Macbeth who kills the King of Scotland (Duncan) so he can become king himself. It is the minor
characters in Macbeth who attract our interest, this is shown in the three paragraphs below in which
Banquo, Duncan and Malcolm are classed as minor characters and how they attract our interest.
Banquo s role throughout the play is to be dramatic which then provides an effective foil for
Macbeth. The temptations of the witches were shown to be avoided by Banquo resulting Macbeth
to act somewhat normal. Equal in status to Macbeth as a commander, and similarly ambitious
Banquo expresses unshakeable moral principles and an ability to tell right from wrong. He warns
Macbeth the witches may be instruments of darkness and not be trusted. When Macbeth hints that
they might plot together, Banquo states firmly he will keep his allegiance clear . After Duncan s
body is discovered, he publicly declares: in the great hand of God I stand and resolves to fight

Duncan is shown as a character who is noble, wise and loyal. He is honourable and isn t detained
by the likes of corruption. Macbeth quotes that Duncan hath been so clear in his great office, his
virtues will plead like angels . But Duncan may have so many great qualities but one of his flaw
is to be too trusting. He realised this when he made an error with the unfaithful Thane of
Cawdor: he was a gentleman on whom I built an absolute trust . The next line is Enter Macbeth
which is ironic in what happens later in the play. This is the scene in which Macbeth s attitude
changes completely. He is now full of anger and has turned evil which result in a deadly murder.
But Duncan s flaw would cost him his life as well as leaving the country of Scotland in the grasp of
an evil human as well as a civil

What Does The Fire Symbolize In Jane Eyre
Symbolism is the use of symbols to signify ideas and qualities by giving them symbolic meanings
that are different from their literal sense. Different types of symbolism can add different effects on
the book. In Jane Eyre the symbolism used adds to the Gothic theme in the book. Jane Eyre has
many types of symbolism. Supernatural symbolism is shown the most in Jane Eyre. In Charlotte
Bronte s Jane Eyre, symbols of relationship, supernatural, and passion are important to the
development of the novel.
In Jane Eyre relationship symbolism is very important. Relationship symbolism is shown through
the torn bridal veil when Jane says, Sir, it removed my veil from its gaunt head, rent it in two parts,
and flinging both on the floor, trampled on (306). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of passion symbolism is the red room in Gaithersburg when Mrs. Reed orders: Take
her away into the red room and lock her in there (6). This quote explains that Mrs. Reed forces
Jane to go into the red room against her will, causing Jane to become angry and scared. This is
passion symbolism because Jane is filled with passion because she believes her Uncle John s spirit
lies in the red room because that is where he died. Passion symbolism is also shown when Bertha
tears Jane s veil and is described as having red eyes, Jane describes in the book by saying, Just at my
bedside the figure stopped: the fiery eyes glared upon me (306). When Bertha tears Jane s veil,
she is described as having red eyes. This shows passion symbolism because her red eyes show
her hatred for Jane and how she cannot have the life she wanted because she became mentally ill.
Passion symbolism is harder to pick out of the book, but there are many examples of passion
symbolism in the

The Search for Enlightenment Essay
The Search for Enlightenment
Nature, I think we can deduce, refers not only to animals, plants, and mountains, but rather to the
universe as a whole the entirety of the physical universe ranging from human nature to quantum
nature while also including, plants, animals, and mountains as part of this greater whole. It has
been the search for knowledge and truths of the wonders and mysteries of nature, or rather the
universe (in other words science) that has, over the past few years been the underlying motivation
in my life. Not only do I find the search for knowledge exciting and intellectually stimulating, but I
have found that this motivation gives meaning or rather a direction to my life. I don t wish to imply
that science and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of science and one that I disagree with.
Instead my drive for competency has made science seem attractive, not because it tries to replace
God and metaphysical ideology, but rather that it explains the universe without having to rely on
untestable assumptions (which we can t know to be true) about how the universe should or would
make sense to be. As I believe that there is no God or transcendental explanation for life or the
cosmos, I aspire to understand human behavior, not in terms of metaphysical and transcendental
explanations, but rather in an empirical approach based on logic, reason, and the consiliecnce
(Wilson 1998, p.8) of the sciences and knowledge.
Yet, my innate desire for competence leads to another important motivation that affects my being,
that is the quest for authenticism. To be authentic, I refer to being original, honest about my
thoughts to myself and others; aware and skeptical of the motivation and assumptions of culture
and society; attempting to recognize and dissect assumptions of my creation and that of culture and
societies; being able to relate to others; and finally, being hyper conscious of myself. By hyper
conscious, I refer to the state of consciousness deeper than that of awareness of one s existence, that
being the awareness of one s motivations the constant introspection, thought, and questioning of one
s actions and

Essay about The Pros and Cons of Home Schooling
The Pros and Cons of Home Schooling Home schooling is an important issue in the educational
world today. Whether or not a parent has the right to take their child out of public schools to
educate them at home has become a widely talked about subject. Over the past decade, some 18,260
home schools have registeredas home schools, and this number continues to grow (Clark/Havice).
This issue, although intense and multi layered, is often divided into two distinct groups those who
oppose it, thinking it prevents the child from learning the essentials for social life, and those who
advocate it, thinking that it brings the family together, allowing the parents to control what the
child learns, and permits them to educate the children one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In addition to the lack of social skills, children also face the problem with going to universities.
Colleges are reluctant to admit home school graduates because they did not have an accredited
diploma (Smith). Students who have been home schooled throughout their childhood also run
into problems when applying for college. Home schooling requires that one parent must stay at
home and teach the children. Families have to give up one parent s full time salary. Rachel
Gehlbach obtained a college degree and studied theology, computers and social sciences before
she had children. She notes that she could probably get a good job in Milwaukee, but she has
chosen remain at home and teach the children. They bake bread and garden to help save money
on the family s grocery bill (Tastad). There is also the price of school supplies to contend with;
school supplies tend to be more expensive for home schooled students. This can make the loss of
income harder (Kang).
Since parents are the teachers in a home schooling environment, they have ultimate authority. They
can have an oppressive amount of control over the student. Parents spending more time with their
children may seem like an advantage, but there comes a point where the students need time away
from their family and their parents. School is a place where students can socialize with people
outside of their family and not be under their parents constant observation. Eventually,

How Is Bilbo A Hero
Many authors communicate to the reader through fictional stories known as myths. These myths,
set in a fictional place or time, are able to identify problems with society today. The popular
novel The Hobbit is a great example of a myth criticizing society today. Although it takes place in
a fantasy land and has creatures that do not exist, it criticizes how we as humans should live our
lives as well as telling us what it means to be a hero. The Hobbittells us that we should take risks
and experience new paths to make us have a better character. A hobbitis a peaceful creature that
likes to live in holes in the ground; not dirty ones, but clean and organized ones. Bilbo was a

Bilbo is the burglar, he must go and pickpocket the trolls. He is extremely cautious on how he

getting caught. And when he gets caught, he is afraid. When asked who he was, Bilbo replied,
shaking all over, and wondering how to make owl noises before they throttled him (pg. 34) .
Having never experienced this kind of event before, it was no surprise he was scared. Bilbo was
able to talk his way out, although he was scared the whole time. A little while later, Bilbo is in
the caves by the goblins where he gets trapped and lost in the dark cavern. He was approached by a
small, creepy creature called Gollum, but this time he was not as scared as before. Bilbo was still
a little frightened for when he heard Gollum, for, The hobbit nearly jumped out of his skin (pg.

with Gollum to survive, and was able think clearly because he was not as afraid as he was
before. This was the first challenge Bilbo had stood up to meet. The two events show how Bilbo
is starting to gain more confidence and have more bravery. The instance with the trolls had Bilbo

work on the fields. After that he would go to school smelling like cow and sweat. When school
was done he would go home eat beans and tortillas and back on the field to work. There was no
time for him to do homework. And for my mom well it wasn t quite the same because she was
born in Jalisco which is a big beautiful city whereas my dad was born in a small village in La

made very poor decisions that made her not able to graduate from high school. And well my dad he

The Applications of Typical as-plasma-sprayed...
Typical as plasma sprayed hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings along the thickness have an internal
gradient structure and chemistry [Rs]. The thickness gradient structure extends from amorphous
base to crystalline surface. During plasma spraying, the amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP)
base is formed by rapid cooling of external molten part of flying HA spray powder particles upon
impact on cold substrate. If the flying HA spray powder particles are heated in plasma jet above
1843 K, but below 1973 K, the ACP, tricalcium phosphate(TCP) and tetracalcium phosphate
(TTCP) will co exist in close proximity within rapidly quenched structure [Rs]. If overheating
temperatures are higher than 1973 K, the CaO will be additionally present. The CaO containing
ACP phasecan be considered as hydroxyl deficient phase because it is formed from a melt which
has experienced the highest temperatures in plasma jet ( 1973 K) [Rs]. The ACP, TTCP and
CaO produce an increase of the Ca/P molar ratio in the near interface region of the as plasma
sprayed HA coatings, which is known as the Ca/P ratio gradient [Rs].
Considering the applications of HA coatings as medical implants, the thickness gradient structure is
unfavorable. The crystalline surface promotes poor initial bone fixation and the ACP base imparts
low structural integrity of the HA coatings [Rs]. The last is of particular importance because a
brittle nature of the ACP phase has been frequently held responsible for deterioration of the HA
coating s

A Visit To A Restaurant
While it may seem a little strange that I have never been to an authentic Mexican restaurant in
my life, there is a perfectly good reason why. Chipotle and On The Border, two restaurants on the
list as frequently visited for me just are simply just Americanized Mexican restaurants and
definitely do not qualify as places that stay true to the Mexican culture. Therefore, for this
global experience, I decided to make a visit to an authentic Mexican restaurant named Taqueria
Marias and it honestly was worth the wait. Deciding to share this experience, I took two of my
friends along with me and we shared a lunch at the small restaurant. Almost immediately after
entering we noticed that the restaurant was incredibly lively, the tables were full, everyone was
talking and laughing loudly, and the waiters never stopped smiling as they ran from table to
table at breakneck speed. The energy was amazing, unlike any other restaurant I have ever been
to which is really saying something. Once we got seated, we ordered a guacamole and chips along
with a rice and beans for the table and I ordered a vegetarian El Mixteco Burrito for myself. The
foodshowed up in record time despite there being a ton of people and it was nothing short of
delicious. Additionally, it was quite interesting to see that the waiters were having conversations
with guests at almost every table and even the chef came out to greet everyone and ask about the
food. It was a very interactive opportunity.

Some shows, like South Park and The Simpsons, make us think logically about a situation we
might otherwise overlook, even if it is outlandish in context. Numerous sociological studies done
on people after watching The Simpsons had a positive effect. South Park watchers mentioned
wanting to get involved with controversial topics. Stereotypes depicted by these shows have a
negative impact; but occasionally, can help us to understand what is right and wrong. Sex,
ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender orientation, age, religion, etc. are all stereotypes projected in
these shows at one time or another. The Simpsons often makes the audience learn from the
character s mistakes with these stereotypes. The messages presented by these shows have an
unrealistic expectation for reality. Almost all the shows project a middle class, heterosexual
couple with their children, and characters of Caucasian race, apart from the Simpsons family who
are yellow. Most of the violent/inappropriate actions in the shows will go without consequences.

Designer Babies Genetics
Until a few years ago having a baby boy or a baby girl was just complete chance. Not anymore.
Now parents have the option to decide on the gender of their future baby, along with many other
genetic traits, such as eye colour, hair colour, intelligence, athletic ability and even skin tone.
Designer babies can also be made for medical reasons, by changing the genetics of a baby,
diseases such as down syndrome and turner syndrome can be prevented. A designer baby can also
be made with identical tissue to be donated to a sick sibling in need.
Before researchers were able to find a way to make this possible, they first had to understand more
about genetics. Genetics explains the process of parents passing down genes to their children,
these genes are things like hair colour, eye colour and genetic disorders. Every human has 23 pairs
of chromosomes, 43 individual, and within them is where the genes are carried, each chromosome
holds about 20,000 genes.
A chromosome is made up of genes, which is sort sections of DNA (Deoxynucleic acid) . Within
the genes, there are alleles, which are different forms of a gene. For example the gene for eye colour
has an allele for blue eyes and an allele for green eyes. Alleles can be either dominant or recessive.
The characteristic controlled by a dominant allele develops if the allele exists ... Show more content

mortgage makes borrowers carry less credit risk, especially for those who earn less and buy more
expensive houses ( Lin, Prather, Chu and Tsay, 2013). Currently in China, MBS uses floating

How Did The Black Panther Party Affect The Civil Rights...
The Black Panther Party was founded in Oakland, California in 1966 by Huey P. Newton and
Bobby Seale. Originally intended to be a patrol force against police brutality in black
communities, the Black Panther Party came to play an important role in the later years of the civil
rights movement. This was due in large part to its Ten Point Program, which resulted in the
implementation of many social programs, including the Free Breakfast for School Children in
1969. The social programs carried out by the Black Panther Partyinspired change during the civil

Newton and Seale recruited men from local communities to take part in police patrols. While the
patrol squads were successful in reducing the instances of police brutality against black people, it
also sparked intensified instances of police harassment against Black Panther Party members
(Harris 167). The Black Panther Party would later gain wide recognition after their protest at the
California State Capitol where Bobby Seale read the Executive Mandate Number One in 1967
(Seale 348). After Eldridge Cleaver joined the party, he suggested they change the group s name
from the Black Panther Party for Self Defense to the Black Panther Party. Cleaver believed it
was time for the party to lessen its emphasis on self defense against police, or rather, to increase
its emphasis on the other points of the program (Harris 167). One of the most notable
achievements of the Black Panther Party was their Free Breakfast for School Children program,
started in San Francisco and Oakland, California in January of 1969 (Harris 168). The Black
Panther Party started several free health clinics to deal with the lack of access to medical
attention in poverty stricken communities The party also organized buses to prison due to the
extremely high number of incarcerated black people, as well as free clothing and shoe programs
for those who couldn t afford them (Harris 168). The party was able to achieve moderate success
on their fourth point. They organized and led rent strikes which resulted in tenant ownership of
buildings (Harris 171). This was in response to tenants who had previously been subjected to
inhumane living conditions and rent abuse by landlords. While the party was not able to achieve
their sixth point, they did fight against black men s involvement in wars. The party organized anti

Essay on Celiac Disease
Nature of the disease Celiac disease is a fairly common disease but is not very well known.
Celiac disease, or celiac sprue, is a digestive condition triggered by consumption of the protein
gluten (Hill, Clinical manifestations and diagnosis of celiac disease in children, 2011). Gluten is a
protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and oats. People with celiac disease who eat foods containing
gluten experience an immune reaction in their small intestines, causing damage to the inner surface
of the small intestine and an inability to absorb certain nutrients (Hill, Clinical manifestations and
diagnosis of celiac disease in children, 2011). The small intestine is responsible for absorbing food
and nutrients. Thus, damage to the lining of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The symptoms adults experience are much the same as the children experience without the
stunning of growth and affect on puberty. Some adults having a mild form of the disease exhibit
almost no symptoms. Others may experience a loss or gain in appetite, abdominal pain, bloating,
gas or indigestion. In addition, other people have bothersome symptoms including diarrhea, weight
loss, abdominal discomfort, and excessive gas caused by vitamin and nutrient deficiencies (The
Mayo Clinic staff, 2011). If a person is not absorbing nutrients adequately, a blood test will detect
this lack of nutrient absorption resulting in the decreased of iron absorption. Also, this inability to
absorb certain nutrients may cause vitamin deficiencies. These deficiencies deprive the brain,
peripheral nervous system, bones, liver and other organs of vital nourishment (Dugdale III,
Longstreth, Zieve, 2010). Causes The exact cause of celiac disease is not known, but scientists
have found that it is genetic, meaning that if someone in your family has celiac then you have a
high percent chance of having it too (The Mayo Clinic Staff, 2011). Even though there is no known
cause of this disease, scientists do know that in a person without celiac the

Analyze the security mechanisms needed to protect the DMS systems from both state employees

Department of Management Services (DMS) has chosen to expand their applications and services
via TCP/IP and Internet access. DMS uses a widely used proprietary scheme: IBM s Systems
Network Architecture (SNA) which provides support for TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol
/Internet Protocol). SNA architecture is projected to remain important for some years to come.

Thus, all distributed applications, including remote logon, client/server, email, file transfer, Web
access, and so on, can be secured (Stallings, 2009). Finally, Stallings (2009) has noted, another
relatively general purpose solution is to implement security just above TCP by using Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) and the follow on Internet standard Transport Layer Security (TLS). For full
generality, SSL, (TLS) could be provided as part of the underlying protocol suite and therefore be
transparent to applications. Alternatively, SSL can be embedded in specific packages.
Critique the transition process performed by the DMS in the case study. Then, recommend two (2)
alternatives to the IP Infrastructure or applications not already mentioned in the case study: By the
early 1990s, the Florida department of management services (DMS) had built up a large
information systems network that serve state government agencies in 10 regional sites and
connected these to the data center in Tallahassee. The network was based on the use of the
proprietary systems network architecture (SNA) from IBM and mainframe at the data center that
housed most of the applications. Although relatively happy with the SNA application and services
by providing TCP/IP capability and internet access. The goal was met in a remarkably short time.
Over the course of 30 months, DMS built a statewide TCP/IP network, began

The Cardiovascular System Of The Circulatory System
The circulatory system (also known as the cardiovascular system) is responsible for respiration
(transporting oxygen and removing carbon dioxide from cells), nutrition (carrying nutrients from
digested food substances to the cells of the body), waste removal (disposing cellular waste products
and poisons that may have been consumed during the digestion process), immunity (fighting against
infectious agents such as pathogens), cellular communication (ensuring that that the transport and
the function of the hormones remain steady) and thermoregulation or homeostasis (maintaining the
body s internal temperature by transporting heat). [The Circulatory, Respiratory, and Digestive
Systems. (n.d.). Retrieved May 9, 2015, from http://www.uic.edu/classes/bios/bios100

In the circulatory system, there are three main components that make up the cardiovascular system
and assist in its function: the heart, blood and blood vessels which can be further separated into
arteries and arterioles, circulatory loops, capillaries, veins (coronary arteries) and venules, coronary
arteries and cardiac arteries and hepatic portal circulation (refer to figure 1).
The heart is one of the body s most important organs and is composed of a tissue known as cardiac
muscle which has developed over time to pump blood throughout the body. Over an organism s
lifetime, the heart will beat continuously and powerfully without any rest so cardiac muscle has

Persuasive Essay On Seat Belt Safety
On April 15th, 2017, a student rolled his car two and half times, the car was totaled. The student
walked away without a scratch on him due to the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt. That
student was me. The act of putting your seat belt into the buckle of your seat takes a mere two
seconds. Two seconds is obviously a small price to pay if the cost could potentially be your
entire life. When drivers and passengers are involved in car accidents, they are more likely to
survive if they are wearing a seatbelt. Seat belts save lives as well as they often prevent major
injuries. When involved in a serious car accident, seat belts have proven to be effective in saving
lives and preventing injury. When involved in a car accident, passengers in the car are subject to
concussion, ejection, paralyzation, or even death. Seat belts strap a passenger into their seat in the
car, this prevents ejection from the vehicle. 75% of people who are ejected from their vehicles die
from impact or related injuries (CDC). This incredibly high statistic proves the effectiveness of
seatbelts holding you into the car and preventing death by ejection. In addition to this, the US
Department of Transportation states that 88.5% of people used seat belts in 2016 (US
Department of Transportation). This number is up 7% from 81.2% in 2006, meaning drivers and
passengers alike are realizing the necessity of wearing a seatbelt. The increased use of seat belts is
likely due to scare tactics used by law

Analysis Of Dunkin Donuts
The retail environment that I decided to analyze is one that is very familiar to most Americans
in today s world: Dunkin Donuts. According to the University of Harvard, 54% of Americans
over the age of 18 drink at least one coffee a day, with 65% of it being consumed during
breakfast. According to the Dunkin Donuts Press Kit of February 2014, currently the Dunkin
Donuts franchise is bought by 11% of Americans on a daily basis and has nearly 11,000 stores in
33 countries. But of all of those stores, I chose one in the quiet suburban town of Chester, New
Jersey. Though not a very large town, Chester is built up with many restaurants and shops for
tourists and locals alike to come and spend their time and money. The traffic flow to this specific
store is fairly unique, in the sense that it is located right off of the major highway in Route 206
south. When I pulled off of Route 206 and into the parking lot, I nearly overshot the entire drive
and almost ended up in the shrubbery out by the road because the turn was so sudden and tight.
Watching cars enter the parking lot, I realized I was not the only one who was having this issue.
Things can get fairly tricky very quickly at this store when you ve got cars coming down a major
highway going forty five miles per hour and then all of a sudden they slam on their brakes to make
the sharp turn into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. I sat in my car and observed people entering the
parking lot for merely twenty five minutes and in that

Disadvantages Of Multi Core Architecture
INTRODUCTION: Now industry tends towards multi core processor architecture rather than
single core. Many new applications are multi threaded like Database servers, Web servers,
Compilers, Scientific applications like CAD/CAM. In multi core microprocessor two or more
chips called cores shared same processor die. It seems that computer has different independent
separate processes. CPU IC has one or more chips which have separate ALUs and L1 caches.
These cores share some memory inside the CPU die called L2 or L3 caches. Cores use same
main memory for instruction and data fetch through common bus interface. Parallelism techniques
for execution are used like pipelining through dynamic scheduling. Multi core processor can
execute several threads parallel so increase in speed of processor. OS treats cores as separate
processors and splits the process in subset of threads that can run parallel on these cores resulting in
high performance. In multi core architecture clock rate is kept low to reduce heat and power
consumption but performance in high speed overall. Multi core architecture have many challenges
like increase in hardware complexity,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The book Treasure Island, first takes place in England during the mid 1700s. As the novel
continues, the setting changes from England to the port of Bristol, where Jim first meets Long

venture to Treasure Island on the Hispaniola.
There are four important characters in Treasure Island, they are Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver,
Doctor Livesey, and Squire Trelawney. Jim Hawkins is the narrator of most of the book. He is
also the protagonist in the book. Jim is the reason why they went to look for the treasure on

The Mortals Influence On Society
Once upon a time, many, many years ago, the society, Fallen was born. It was a land of peace,
and equality....for a while that is. Fallen first existed back in 2126 the Future Renaissance , after
the people, led by Orillia Norback had overthrown the communist government of The Mortals,
and their corrupt leader, Samil Aredon. Aredon was a cruel and sadist man, he believed in
discrimination, genocide, and torture. He was a racist and a sexist, and believed that social
inequality is what drove a society. Many speculated that he was a victim of mental illness,
although no one could pinpoint what it was. After being fed up with Arodon s practices, the rebels

Fallen became a society where all races, cultures and genders were embraced. However, just like
many other societies, Fallen experienced their share of conflict, mainly with their biggest rival:
The British Isles. The British Isles had always planned to invade The Mortals, but stepped back
because of the civil war between the people, and the communist government. Now, with a new
government, a combination of monarchy, and democracy, Fallen, became a force to be reckoned
with. Conflict within the society arose after an attempted invasion from the British Isles in 2180.
Many, mainly the people of colour were wounded severely, angering the coloured community.
Many speculated that this was the British s attempt to tear apart the society from the inside, and it
worked. Fallen soon became a place where division struck, where a line between Black and White
arose. Territorial disputes, interstates, and terrorism came after, leaving the society, vulnerable.
Vulnerability, gave the British Isles an advantage, where in 2230, Fallen was taken over by the
British Isles. The society of Fallen, had

Descriptive Magic Kingdom
All around there were children with bright smiles full of excitement and tugging at their parents

sensation of rain washing the sweat off my body. Disney World consists of four parks, but the best
is by far the one known as the Magic Kingdom. It made me feel as if I am royalty. When I first
walked into the Magic Kingdom, there was a walk way called Main Street, U.S.A. I saw a
barber shop, a theater, clothing shops containing Mickey Mouse attire, and art galleries filled with
aesthetic art. The Hall of Presidents was located in the theatre. It had realistic wax figures of every
President sitting on a stage all together with a short show depicting events that happened during
some of the Presidents lifetime. While taking a stroll down Main Street, U.S.A, I smelled the fresh
aroma of hot dogs and bakery items such as sweet, scrumptious apple pies. Taking the path straight
down Main Street, U.S.A, I saw the beautiful Cinderella Castlesurrounded by the vast diversity of
flowers and their vivid colors. Cinderella s Castle was as tall as the Eiffel Tower. It had lovely
architecture and was painted with beautiful blue and white colors. Once I passed by Cinderella s

Aboriginal women and European men were a way of solidifying alliances between the two trading

there were no European women residing on the Hudson Bay during the fur trade, Aboriginal

Juvenile Delinquency And Family Structure Of The Family
For quite a while, children encountering youth in single parent families have been seen as being
extraordinary. Being raised by only a solitary parent seems, by all accounts, to be troublesome, yet
finished the years it has turned out to be more conceivable to do. Today numerous children are
growing up to wind up plainly more effective, and sincerely stable whether they are raised by the
two guardians, or only one, to display the troublesome way that life may toss our direction.
The issue lies in the distinction of youthful children raised by single parents, verses kids being
raised by both their mom and dad. Does the child require the two parents? Does the young man
require a father figure around? Does the administration offer help to single parents? What part do
step parents and step children play? With much theory, this point has turned uncommonly
fascinating What individuals must comprehend is that legitimately bringing up a child does not
depend on the structure of a family but should be more focused on the process or values that are
taught to these children as they develop. Children that just have one parent can be just as
productive with emotional, social and behavioral abilities as those with two guardians.
Individuals guarantee that the main path for children to increase full passionate and behavioral
abilities are to be raised by both a mother and a father. In the article, Juvenile Delinquency and

Abortions Pros and Cons Essay
Nowadays, in this world, there are a lot of problems that can make tremendous conflicts for
human beings. They are very complicated and bring a lot of argument and nobody knows what
the exact answer is. They also have pros and cons. One of the most complex problems is
abortion. This is due to moral and ethical values which we all have. The majority of us are
Christians or are brought up in that kind of ambiance which means that as small children we were
taught values that are based on the bible such as that famous phrase Thou shall not kill . This
phrase relates to this topic because an abortionis the murder of a human being.

For the last 17 years, the Hyde Amendment has banned the use of federal funds for almost all
Medicaid abortions. The Hyde Amendment explicitly allows only two exceptions to this
restriction: (1) when the life of the woman is endangered or (2) in cases of rape or incest. Since all
of this was being approved we as a society thought that we could get rid of some of our social
concerns. But it did the complete opposite here are some examples Illegitimate births were at a
10.7% in 1970 and in 1990 it raised to 26.2% in 1990,Children with Single Mothers in 1970
was11% in 1990 was 22%, Violent Crime Rate (per 100,000) in 1970 it was 36.4 2 and in 1990 it
went up to a 73%, Teen Suicide Rate was 5.9% and in 1990 it dramatically increased to a 11.3% ,
and lastly Children on Welfare 8.5% and again that number managed to raise to a 11.9% according
to (Catholic insight , May 2004 p28).
Some of the proposed solutions for this abortion dilemma are making adoption more open to our
current society. This is believed to help stop abortions incases in which the mother cannot support

Sedentary Lifestyle In America
The sedentary lifestyle of so many Americans is really starting to concern me. The average
American now spends more than 8 hours sitting every day. Is this you? That is 122 days per year
of sitting!! I firmly believe that all this sitting is exacting a serious, and previously misunderstood,
toll on our bodies. We have moved from an active, agricultural lifestyle to one of offices and
automation. Every aspect of our day from our meals (drive thru s, delivery) to our jobs (computers)
to our home life (TV, remote controls, computers, shopping online) to our entertainment (plush
theater seats) has been tailored with one priority in mind, our comfort.
Yet, the feeling of comfort is not what people walking though our doors are describing to me.
Many (young and old) are describing what I know to be the repercussions of sedentary behavior
resulting in the muscular compensations and imbalances that follow.
We all must understand that sitting for 8 hours a day can easily put us in the category of sedentary.

Recently I began noticing that the reasons for seeking our advice was shifting from the desire to
lose weight or to live a healthier lifestyle (both of which are still critical) to helping them
alleviate chronic aches and pains. Many come in with a clean medical diagnosis in hand as we
are quick to run to the doctor for the quick fix. Many have X rays and/or MRI s showing healthy
joints. Then what is the problem? And what is the solution? Quite often the solution is a lifelong
effort to start moving the way we were meant to standing up and incorporating more vigorous

Gender Equality In Canada Essay
The number one factor that predicts the success of a nation is the connection they build with their
citizens. A well structured legal system ensures that the security of the country and its citizens are
protected at a high standard. One of the major factors that contributed to Canada s success and long
lived democracy is the strong legal system that was built from the ground up. The Canadian legal
system fulfills an extraordinary job at protecting citizen s rights and freedoms under the Canadian
Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Canadais known to be a cultural mosaic, encouraging and
welcoming people from all walks of life and religious belief. All citizens are protected under the
Human Rights Act and can approach the appropriate authorities... Show more content on

One example of this is the case between Gwen Jacob and the police. Jacob removed her top to
cool off on a sweltering summer day in July 1991 (CBC). She later was arrested for public
indecency and shortly released after making the case that she was discriminated against due to her
gender, under section 3 (1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act (Government of Canada). The
gender equality movement has been one factor that has been influencing modern day society. The
out dated conservative approach to this type of issue would be that it would be okay for men to go
shirtless but for women, it was an indecent gesture. Jacob s efforts prove that women can perform
the same tasks as men. This goes to show that the legislature in the Constitution, the Human Rights
Act, protects citizens from discrimination regardless the race, national or ethnic origin, colour,
religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, genetic characteristics, disability
and conviction for an offence (Government of Canada). This case is one of many that prove the
citizens of Canada are well protected and further indicates towards a secure legal

Essay On Retinal Development
Specific Aims
Gene regulation plays important roles in retinal development and function. So far, studies on gene
regulation in the retina mostly focus on the transcription level, although post transcriptional
mechanisms may also be critical. Little is now how post transcriptional regulation of gene
expression is involved in the development and maintenance of the neural retina and retinal
diseases. In this project, we will address this issue by studying two related RNA binding proteins,
ZFP36l1 and ZFP36l2, two members of the TTP RNA binding protein family. This family of
proteins are highly conserved through evolution and are involved in diverse biological processes
thought regulating the stability of target mRNA species. Our preliminary ... Show more content on

We will also analyze the genetic pathways modulated by Zfp36l1and Zfp36l2, through RNA seq
expression profiling and proteomics analysis, and the molecular mechanism through which the two
proteins impact the relevant pathways.
Aim 1. To study the roles Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 play in retinal development. Making use the
floxed Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 alleles (Zfp36l1f and Zfp36l1f), we have generated single and double
retina specific knockout embryos by crossing them with the Six3 Cre. The mutant retinas,
particularly the DKO ones, displayed increased differentiation and decreased proliferation. We will
confirm these results by crossing with another retina specific Cre line, Chx10 Cre. We will further
characterize the defects in the different aspects of retinal development, including cell
differentiation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis, in these knock out embryos at different stages. We
will also examine how the Notch pathway, which plays essential roles in balancing proliferation and
differentiation in retinal development, is affected in the mutant retinas by in situ hybridization and
in vitro luciferase reporter assays.
Aim 3. To investigate the mechanisms by which Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 function retinal development.
To understand the genetic mechanisms underlying the function of Zfp36l1 and Zfp36l2 in retina
development, we will perform RNA seq analysis to identify the

Alaskan Critique
his critique is being done on the article titled Experiences of Alaskan Parents with Children
Hospitalized for Respiratory Syncytial Virus Treatment. It was written in 2013 and published it
the Journal of Pediatric Nursing. The purpose of this critique is to address the usefulness of this
research and to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. This article is presented clearly and well
organized. The purpose and background are clearly stated. Some weaknesses noted in the article is
small population sampled, only sampling six and the lack of detail about the data collection and
analysis.
Significance
The research question in this study is What are the experiences of Alaskan parents who have a child
hospitalized for RSV treatment? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only one interview was conducted. It would have been useful to see how the parents felt
immediately after the child hospitalization and also to know how they felt after being home for a
while. The article did not state very much information about the method they used to analyze the
interviews. This lack of information hurts the articles credibility. The step by step guide to
critiquing research states In qualitative research the process by which data analysis is undertaken is
fundamental to determining the credibility of the findings. (ryan). Convenience sampling is also a
possible weakness in the study it is not the preferred sampling method but often time the only one

First of all, the demography is the study of human s inhabitants. The population change over time

QinetiQ, a defence technology company headquartered in Farnborough, have a problem regarding
their Pendine long test track facility located in South Wales. The test track is 1500m long and test
items are powered down the track on sleds pushed by rocket motors. QinetiQ are finding a variety
of engineering challenges in containing the rocket motor sleds in relatively short distances at the
end of the track on high velocity trials (600m/s 700m/s). There is often significant damage caused
to the capture systems used on such trials and the damage caused to them mean that they cannot be
reused.

1967, Sound of Music purchased Bergo Company and Kencraft Hi Fi and pulled in about $1
million in revenue. In 1969, Schulze took his partners half and decided to become a public
company on the NASDAQ exchange. What started as a single store in Saint Paul, Minnesota
became a chain of nine stores by 1978. In the 1980 s, Sound of Music was left with seven stores
because of unfortunate accidents caused by a tornado. In 1983, Sound of Music was renamed to

Issues of Abortion
Abortion has became a big issue in not just the US but in pretty much everywhere
else around the globe. To some people it is a sin to do but to others they might have a
good reason to go through it but it can be just an easy way out of going through
pregnancy and raising a child. Abortion should only be legal under certain circumstances
by applying equality amongst the fetus and the mother without giving more rights to
either for example if the mother was raped ,while possibly being underage as well, if
something is wrong with her like if she was in danger of dying , or if something is wrong
with the fetus like a sever disease then the mother should have a saying if she wants to
have an abortion but if none of those reasons apply then the woman should go through
the pregnancy if it doesn t harm her.
The main problem with abortion is the fact that it has to do with a person s life
being taken away. Also there is religious reasons and religious people that are concerned
with the issue because a lot of religions do not comply with abortion being legal.
sometimes women do not want to have a or the child because they just don t care or want
to deal with the pressure of taking care or going through the pregnancy and maybe being
an under aged teenager. pro life supporters always do have to question why is this legal
but there is of course the people who support

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Shakespeare And Sonnet 130 Shakespeare s Lovely Sonnets William Shakespeare is a famous playwright and poet whose pieces are still well known in the modern world. Some of these well known pieces are his sonnets written about love. Sonnet 18 and Sonnet 130 are examples of these love poems. These sonnets convey Shakespeare s love in different ways. Sonnet 18 expresses superiority over another subject, and Sonnet 130 expresses uniqueness. Although the attitudes of Sonnet 18 and Sonnet 130 are different, Shakespeare uses comparisons, exaggerations, and vivid words to portray the message of love in both sonnets. First of all, Shakespeare wrote Sonnet 18 to essentially complement the poem itself and his own writing. To describe the beauty of the recipient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sonnet 130 is about Shakespeare s mistress. In this poem, he uses comparisons to describe his mistress as ugly. One comparison that Shakespeare makes is, If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. In this comparison, Shakespeare relates hairs to wires to represent the coarseness of the hair of his mistress. When read by itself, the comparison does not display love. Yet later on in the poem, Shakespeare explains that even though her mistress may be uglier when compared to other women, but she is rare and unique. The fact that Shakespeare considers his love as rare shows that he loves her. Although the comparison itself in Sonnet 130 is negative while the comparison in Sonnet 18 is positive, both poems compare one subject to another to enhance the feeling of the topic of the poem. To continue, Sonnet 130 also has exaggerations to amplify the descriptions of Shakespeare s mistress. For example, when Shakespeare writes, My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun, he shows that his mistress eyes are dull in comparison to eyes of other people. He makes the mistress eyes seem even uglier as he uses the sun to represent other people s eyes. Similarly to the comparison, the exaggeration gives his mistress a negative description. Yet, towards the end of the poem, he considers his love to be rare, which displays his love. In a similar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After his father left the family and Poe s mother passed away when he was merely three, Poe was forced to move from his home, Massachusetts, to live with another family in Virginia. Later, Poe gambled to earn enough money to attend the University of Virginia, but when he returned home he found his fiancee engaged to marry his neighbor. Poe attended military school, West Point Academy, but was kicked out, and afterwards married his cousin who died only eleven years later (Biography.com). Poe s poem, Lenore extends further and uniquely focuses on a man s journey to accept the loss of his betrothed using the tone and organization of the text. The poem is organized as a conversation in four stanzas between Guy de Vere and the narrator. The first and third stanzas are the spoken words of the narrator and the second and fourth stanzas are the verbal responses of Guy de Vere. Poe s decision to compose his poem in this manner provides the reader with a direct look at the raw, bare emotions of the recently widowed man. These four stanzas allow the reader four opportunities to stand in Guy de Vere s shoes and to hear what he hears. The reader now can identify with the complex array of emotions and stages of grief experienced by Guy de Vere. With each stanza in the poem, the tone changes slightly showing the gradual acceptance of the loss by Guy de Vere. In the second stanza, de Vere s tone, created by internal sound devices and sentence structure, is hostile, demonstrating the anger felt. The change in de Vere s tone occurring in the fourth stanza demonstrates a major evolution in his outlook toward the future. He finally understands that although Lenore is gone, she will be accepted in Heaven; and his life will continue without her. By talking out his feelings through conversation, Guy de Vere finally accepts the loss of his bride to be, showing the power that one conversation can have on someone s life. In Poe s poem, he uses structure and sound devices to show that after the loss of a loved one, one may attribute the death to others, but with consolation and care from others, he or she will make peace with the ... The play is about Macbeth who kills the King of Scotland (Duncan) so he can become king himself. It is the minor characters in Macbeth who attract our interest, this is shown in the three paragraphs below in which Banquo, Duncan and Malcolm are classed as minor characters and how they attract our interest. Banquo s role throughout the play is to be dramatic which then provides an effective foil for Macbeth. The temptations of the witches were shown to be avoided by Banquo resulting Macbeth to act somewhat normal. Equal in status to Macbeth as a commander, and similarly ambitious Banquo expresses unshakeable moral principles and an ability to tell right from wrong. He warns Macbeth the witches may be instruments of darkness and not be trusted. When Macbeth hints that they might plot together, Banquo states firmly he will keep his allegiance clear . Different types of symbolism can add different effects on the book. In Jane Eyre the symbolism used adds to the Gothic theme in the book. Jane Eyre has many types of symbolism. Supernatural symbolism is shown the most in Jane Eyre. In Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre, symbols of relationship, supernatural, and passion are important to the development of the novel. Passion symbolism is also shown when Bertha tears Jane s veil and is described as having red eyes, Jane describes in the book by saying, Just at my bedside the figure stopped: the fiery eyes glared upon me (306). When Bertha tears Jane s veil, she is described as having red eyes. This shows passion symbolism because her red eyes show her hatred for Jane and how she cannot have the life she wanted because she became mentally ill. • 6. The Search for Enlightenment Essay The Search for Enlightenment Nature, I think we can deduce, refers not only to animals, plants, and mountains, but rather to the universe as a whole the entirety of the physical universe ranging from human nature to quantum nature while also including, plants, animals, and mountains as part of this greater whole. It has been the search for knowledge and truths of the wonders and mysteries of nature, or rather the universe (in other words science) that has, over the past few years been the underlying motivation in my life. Not only do I find the search for knowledge exciting and intellectually stimulating, but I have found that this motivation gives meaning or rather a direction to my life. I don t wish to imply that science and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of science and one that I disagree with. Instead my drive for competency has made science seem attractive, not because it tries to replace God and metaphysical ideology, but rather that it explains the universe without having to rely on untestable assumptions (which we can t know to be true) about how the universe should or would make sense to be. As I believe that there is no God or transcendental explanation for life or the cosmos, I aspire to understand human behavior, not in terms of metaphysical and transcendental explanations, but rather in an empirical approach based on logic, reason, and the consiliecnce (Wilson 1998, p.8) of the sciences and knowledge. Yet, my innate desire for competence leads to another important motivation that affects my being, that is the quest for authenticism. To be authentic, I refer to being original, honest about my thoughts to myself and others; aware and skeptical of the motivation and assumptions of culture and society; attempting to recognize and dissect assumptions of my creation and that of culture and societies; being able to relate to others; and finally, being hyper conscious of myself. By hyper conscious, I refer to the state of consciousness deeper than that of awareness of one s existence, that being the awareness of one s motivations the constant introspection, thought, and questioning of one s actions and ... • 7. Essay about The Pros and Cons of Home Schooling The Pros and Cons of Home Schooling Home schooling is an important issue in the educational world today. Whether or not a parent has the right to take their child out of public schools to educate them at home has become a widely talked about subject. Over the past decade, some 18,260 home schools have registeredas home schools, and this number continues to grow (Clark/Havice). This issue, although intense and multi layered, is often divided into two distinct groups those who oppose it, thinking it prevents the child from learning the essentials for social life, and those who advocate it, thinking that it brings the family together, allowing the parents to control what the child learns, and permits them to educate the children one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the lack of social skills, children also face the problem with going to universities. Colleges are reluctant to admit home school graduates because they did not have an accredited diploma (Smith). Students who have been home schooled throughout their childhood also run into problems when applying for college. Home schooling requires that one parent must stay at home and teach the children. Families have to give up one parent s full time salary. Rachel Gehlbach obtained a college degree and studied theology, computers and social sciences before she had children. She notes that she could probably get a good job in Milwaukee, but she has chosen remain at home and teach the children. They bake bread and garden to help save money on the family s grocery bill (Tastad). There is also the price of school supplies to contend with; school supplies tend to be more expensive for home schooled students. This can make the loss of income harder (Kang). Since parents are the teachers in a home schooling environment, they have ultimate authority. They can have an oppressive amount of control over the student. Parents spending more time with their children may seem like an advantage, but there comes a point where the students need time away from their family and their parents. School is a place where students can socialize with people outside of their family and not be under their parents constant observation. Eventually, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These myths, set in a fictional place or time, are able to identify problems with society today. The popular novel The Hobbit is a great example of a myth criticizing society today. Although it takes place in a fantasy land and has creatures that do not exist, it criticizes how we as humans should live our lives as well as telling us what it means to be a hero. The Hobbittells us that we should take risks and experience new paths to make us have a better character. • 10. The Applications of Typical as-plasma-sprayed... Typical as plasma sprayed hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings along the thickness have an internal gradient structure and chemistry [Rs]. The thickness gradient structure extends from amorphous base to crystalline surface. During plasma spraying, the amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) base is formed by rapid cooling of external molten part of flying HA spray powder particles upon impact on cold substrate. If the flying HA spray powder particles are heated in plasma jet above 1843 K, but below 1973 K, the ACP, tricalcium phosphate(TCP) and tetracalcium phosphate (TTCP) will co exist in close proximity within rapidly quenched structure [Rs]. If overheating temperatures are higher than 1973 K, the CaO will be additionally present. The CaO containing ACP phasecan be considered as hydroxyl deficient phase because it is formed from a melt which has experienced the highest temperatures in plasma jet ( 1973 K) [Rs]. The ACP, TTCP and CaO produce an increase of the Ca/P molar ratio in the near interface region of the as plasma sprayed HA coatings, which is known as the Ca/P ratio gradient [Rs]. Considering the applications of HA coatings as medical implants, the thickness gradient structure is unfavorable. The crystalline surface promotes poor initial bone fixation and the ACP base imparts low structural integrity of the HA coatings [Rs]. Now parents have the option to decide on the gender of their future baby, along with many other genetic traits, such as eye colour, hair colour, intelligence, athletic ability and even skin tone. Designer babies can also be made for medical reasons, by changing the genetics of a baby, diseases such as down syndrome and turner syndrome can be prevented. A designer baby can also be made with identical tissue to be donated to a sick sibling in need. Before researchers were able to find a way to make this possible, they first had to understand more about genetics. Genetics explains the process of parents passing down genes to their children, these genes are things like hair colour, eye colour and genetic disorders. Every human has 23 pairs of chromosomes, 43 individual, and within them is where the genes are carried, each chromosome holds about 20,000 genes. A chromosome is made up of genes, which is sort sections of DNA (Deoxynucleic acid) . Within the genes, there are alleles, which are different forms of a gene. The student walked away without a scratch on him due to the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt. That student was me. The act of putting your seat belt into the buckle of your seat takes a mere two seconds. Two seconds is obviously a small price to pay if the cost could potentially be your entire life. When drivers and passengers are involved in car accidents, they are more likely to survive if they are wearing a seatbelt. Seat belts save lives as well as they often prevent major injuries. When involved in a serious car accident, seat belts have proven to be effective in saving lives and preventing injury. When involved in a car accident, passengers in the car are subject to concussion, ejection, paralyzation, or even death. Seat belts strap a passenger into their seat in the car, this prevents ejection from the vehicle. 75% of people who are ejected from their vehicles die from impact or related injuries (CDC). This incredibly high statistic proves the effectiveness of seatbelts holding you into the car and preventing death by ejection. In addition to this, the US Department of Transportation states that 88.5% of people used seat belts in 2016 (US Department of Transportation). • 25. Analysis Of Dunkin Donuts The retail environment that I decided to analyze is one that is very familiar to most Americans in today s world: Dunkin Donuts. According to the University of Harvard, 54% of Americans over the age of 18 drink at least one coffee a day, with 65% of it being consumed during breakfast. According to the Dunkin Donuts Press Kit of February 2014, currently the Dunkin Donuts franchise is bought by 11% of Americans on a daily basis and has nearly 11,000 stores in 33 countries. But of all of those stores, I chose one in the quiet suburban town of Chester, New Jersey. Though not a very large town, Chester is built up with many restaurants and shops for tourists and locals alike to come and spend their time and money. The traffic flow to this specific store is fairly unique, in the sense that it is located right off of the major highway in Route 206 south. When I pulled off of Route 206 and into the parking lot, I nearly overshot the entire drive and almost ended up in the shrubbery out by the road because the turn was so sudden and tight. Watching cars enter the parking lot, I realized I was not the only one who was having this issue. Things can get fairly tricky very quickly at this store when you ve got cars coming down a major highway going forty five miles per hour and then all of a sudden they slam on their brakes to make the sharp turn into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. I sat in my car and observed people entering the parking lot for merely twenty five minutes and in that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Disadvantages Of Multi Core Architecture INTRODUCTION: Now industry tends towards multi core processor architecture rather than single core. Many new applications are multi threaded like Database servers, Web servers, Compilers, Scientific applications like CAD/CAM. In multi core microprocessor two or more chips called cores shared same processor die. It seems that computer has different independent separate processes. CPU IC has one or more chips which have separate ALUs and L1 caches. These cores share some memory inside the CPU die called L2 or L3 caches. Cores use same main memory for instruction and data fetch through common bus interface. Parallelism techniques for execution are used like pipelining through dynamic scheduling. Multi core processor can execute several threads parallel so increase in speed of processor. OS treats cores as separate processors and splits the process in subset of threads that can run parallel on these cores resulting in high performance. In multi core architecture clock rate is kept low to reduce heat and power consumption but performance in high speed overall. As the novel continues, the setting changes from England to the port of Bristol, where Jim first meets Long John Silver for the first time. Once at the port of Bristol Jim, the doctor, and the rest of the crew venture to Treasure Island on the Hispaniola. There are four important characters in Treasure Island, they are Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver, Doctor Livesey, and Squire Trelawney. Jim Hawkins is the narrator of most of the book. Fallen first existed back in 2126 the Future Renaissance , after the people, led by Orillia Norback had overthrown the communist government of The Mortals, and their corrupt leader, Samil Aredon. Aredon was a cruel and sadist man, he believed in discrimination, genocide, and torture. He was a racist and a sexist, and believed that social inequality is what drove a society. Many speculated that this was the British s attempt to tear apart the society from the inside, and it worked. Fallen soon became a place where division struck, where a line between Black and White arose. Territorial disputes, interstates, and terrorism came after, leaving the society, vulnerable.
