TTS began the analysis for the Foundation Curriculum with a synthesis of over 30 job and task analyses (JTA)
performed by TTS in eight industries for 22 job positions, for common skills and knowledge required of an
industrial worker regardless of specific craft. The competency models for 11 United States Department of Labor
job descriptions were then cross-referenced to the common data. The design focused on the most significant
knowledge and skills required of an entry level industrial worker and required the use of blended online learning
for a more effective learning experience.
The Foundation Curriculum includes an industrial wiki, YouTube style videos, forums, eLearning modules,
serious games, and a virtual industrial plant to explore. Branded odesie® (Online Dynamic Enterprise Solutions
for Industry Excellence), the framework is both extensible and modularized with the option to incorporate virtual
classroom or instructor-led training management for those clients where use of ILT is practical. odesie® provides
