Statutory Interpretation Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of statutory interpretation can prove to be a challenging
endeavor, requiring a deep understanding of legal principles, legislative language, and judicial
decisions. The complexity arises from the intricate nature of interpreting statutes, where one
must navigate through layers of legal nuances, precedents, and evolving judicial perspectives.
The process involves delving into the intricacies of legislative intent, grappling with the various
rules and canons of statutory interpretation, and analyzing the dynamic interplay between text
and context. It demands a meticulous examination of case law, as courts often contribute to the
ongoing dialogue on how statutes should be construed.
Moreover, the writer needs to demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the competing
methodologies employed by judges, such as textualism, purposivism, and the contextual
approach. Balancing these perspectives while presenting a coherent argument adds another layer
of difficulty to the task.
The essay must also address the challenges posed by ambiguous language, legislative gaps, and
the constant evolution of societal values. The writer is tasked with showcasing an ability to
critically assess and apply the various tools available to statutory interpreters, all while
acknowledging the inherent subjectivity that can be present in the process.
In conclusion, composing an essay on statutory interpretation demands not only a comprehensive
understanding of legal concepts but also a keen analytical mind to navigate the complexities
inherent in the field. Successfully synthesizing these elements into a cohesive and persuasive
essay requires time, dedication, and a commitment to precision in legal analysis.

The Pauline Epistles I Essay
Our source of knowledge of the apostolic work of Paul comes first from the Book
of Acts. The epistles written by Paul serve to further our knowledge of his mission.
These letters were written to churches that he had founded or churches that were
known to him. Luke s account of Paul introduces us to the basic facts about this
important biblical figure. A more complete understanding of Paul s journeys can be
gleaned from his letters. These epistles were written almost at the time they occurred
and they comprise some of the earliest works contained in the New Testament. These
letters had already been written when Luke wrote the Book of Acts, but a close
reading indicates that they are independent of one another. Paul wrote letters to...

It may explain why he mentions in Galatians 6.11, that he wrote in large letters . It
was perhaps a reference used to prove that he wrote the letter and that it was not
forged. Speculation points to a physical ailment such as bad eyesight but that
seems unlikely considering other scripture. PAUL S BACKGROUND An
examination of the Pauline epistles should begin with an examination of the
author. Saul of Tarsus was a Jewish official a Pharisee. Saul was a persecutor of
Christians and an eyewitness to the stoning of Steven. And cast him out of the city,
and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man s feet,
whose name was Saul. (Acts 7.58 King James Version) He had a vision on the road
to Damascus and was blinded. God sent Ananias to heal Saul of his affliction. God
also sent Paul a vision of Ananias to let him know that he would be healed. Paul
did not learn the Gospel from other men. He received his knowledge directly from

Rachel Syme Why Web Series Are Worth Watching Analysis
People all want that heart stopping WOW moment in their lives, and art can easily
satisfy that want. Visual media is the most quintessential form of art in modern
society. Whether it is binge watching Orange is the New Black, watching a funny
YouTube channel, or even keeping up with the presidential race on the news,
visual media is invading the minds of society. There are many different forms of
visual media, all of which want the spotlight. Many argue in favor for TV shows as
the best platform, but according to the article Why Web TV Series Are Worth

then it was a successful article. This argument is illogical because of the bias aspect
of the article selection process. An article should not be deemed successful just
because a prestigious media outlet agrees with it. Another argument made is that the

Favela s Essay
September 27, 2012
Poverty has been around for many centuries, all around the world. Some of the
societies governments aren t doing a thing to fix these shanty towns and favelas.
They try to keep them isolated from the more wealthy parts of the city. Whether it
means putting up fences or just keeping them in a distance from the others. These
people are being treated like animals, forced to live in flooded areas on top of one
another. The favelas in Rio De Janeiro are very similar to the shanty towns in
Jakarta, Indonesia. The Favelas in Rio De Janeiro lie beneath the beautiful part of
Brazil. Some of the old famous favelas where made of a mixture of sand and clay.
Then eventually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only thing the government does is put up gates to separate them from the
wealthy part of the city. Many people in Jakarta depend on the communal area to
wash their clothing and bathe because they don t have there own water supply.
Nobody deserves to live like this because it is very dangerous and hazardous.
Although there isn t any violence in Jakarta, it s not a good place to live. Its
always flooded so you have to travel on little boats made of wood to get from one
place to another. Jakarta s slums and Rio De Janeiro s favelas have a lot of things
in common. Both of their governments aren t trying to make these living conditions
better. They just keep them secluded in one area away from the wealthy parts of
the city. It isn t safe nor healthy for people to be living in contaminated water or on
top of one another in unsteady shacks. People from around the world come to visit
these towns because they find it interesting or attractive that people are living like
this, instead of trying to help them they just admire the way they are living. Still to
this day nothing is being done to improve this situation. Even though people are
poor they shouldn t have to be living like this because they are humans too.
Everybody should be treated and looked at equally. Sometimes food is very scarce
so people have to go nights without eating anything. No one should have to live there

Essay On The Tragical History Of Doctor Faustus
To begin, the Tragical History of Doctor Faustus was a play written in sixteenth
century by Christopher Marlowe. In the play, the main character, Doctor Faustus, is
bored because he feels that he has learned all the knowledge that is acceded to in the
state that he is in, therefore, he has some other scholars who know about dark magic
to teach him their ways. While he is learning dark magic Doctor, Faustus summons a
demon named Mephistopheles, who helps Faustus sell his soul to the devil.
Throughout the play, Faustus begins to have doubts and starts to repent, however,
the only answer that he receives is from Mephistopheles and Lucifer teach his
about the Seven Deadly Sins leaving he is impressed and stopping his doubts. With
his newly found power, Faustus and Mephistopheles travel through Europe playing
trick on people such as the Pope and Emperor of German yet his time soon runs out.
An old man urges Faustus to repent, but Faustus drives him away. On his final
night, Faustus is overcome by fear and remorse, but it is too late because at midnight
devils appear and carry his soul off to hell. Godis absent throughout the play to
reflect Faustus beliefs on God, as well as, Marlowe s own religious beliefs.
In addition, the absence of God reflect the beliefs of Faustus on God. Faustus does
not believe in God. Faustus has no desire to serve God, but he does have a desire to
please himself by using his power to discover information about the world that he is
unaware of. God is
Essay about The Roman Military Reforms institued by
Gaius...
The hypothesis of this report is that the military reforms instituted by Gaius Marius
ultimately paved the way for the fall of the Roman Republic. The reforms
instituted by Marius were designed as a way to strengthen the Republic by
professionalizing the Roman military, but instead resulted in long term political
consequences that contributed to the decline of the Republic and the creation of
the Empire. In this report, the decline of the republic specifically refers to the loss
of the Senate s authority over Rome s generals. From 112 106 BC, a Numidian king
called Jurgurtha was engaged in a war with Rome due to an attempt to seize power
from his half brother, Adherbal. The Romans arrived due to the request of Adherbal,
and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As many of these new recruits did not fit in these categories, and were unable to
provide their own equipment, Marius arranged for the State to supply them with
arms and armour. He then offered the masses a permanent career as professional
soldiers, and the opportunity to gain spoils on the campaign. With little hope of
gaining status in other ways, the masses flocked to join Marius. The cause of this
reform was largely due to recurring recruitment problems faced by the Roman
republic, as most soldiers were expected to return to their farms after long campaigns,
but since the campaigns were becoming increasingly longer due to the distance of the
conflicts from rome, the farms were left deserted and ruined do to prolonged absence
of workers. As such, the returning soldiers found themselves without property making
them illegible for military service, thus weakening the army. (William G. Sinnigen)
As such, Marius believed these deficiencies in the Roman army recruitment system
needed urgent attention, and his solution was to offer those with nothing the ability
to have everything. Along with the new recruitment system, Marius also improved
and enhanced the military training by basing it upon those used and developed by
gladiators and also abolished the three different types of soldiers, each armed and
positioned by rank and experience, with cohorts of men universally armed and
created the use of the eagle as the standard for

The Use Of Visual Imagery On Social Media
There s a movement of feminists who use visual imagery on social media to break
the stigmas surrounding body hair. In an extention this reflects and becomes a sign
of refusal against dominating power relations between the genders. I will proove this
idea talking about the stigmatization of body hair, according to The last taboo
Women and body hair by K. Lesnik Oberstein. I will clearify the context in which
these stigmas are founded with The Beauty Mythby Naomi Wolf, who argues that the
idea of beauty subordinates women and preserves the male dominance (Wolf, 1991,
p. 12). By explaining discourse as a subconsious ideology and signified objects as

absence of women s body hair in our culture, which could be explained by the
taboos that surrounds the subject. It s either too disgusting, shameful and private,
or too trivial to bee discussed. ( K. Lesnik Oberstein, 2006, p. 1 2). Louise Tondeur

A History of the Brain The Beast Within (Video 6)
The Beast Within refers to Phineas Gage who is commonly known for being one of
the most recognised patients in neuroscience as a result of his traumatic accident. His
case had a great influence on Psychology and early neurology because his observable
behaviour after the incident aided scientists in their theories of localization of brain
function (Twomey, 2010).
In 1848, he suffered a devastating brain injury when an explosion caused an iron rod
to pierce through his left cheek and out through the top of his head, thus destroying
his frontal lobe (Cherry, 2018). Astonishingly, he survived the incident, however his

Imitation creates a defined link to cognitive control and illustrates mental capabilities.
This is a characteristic seen in both humans and animals. For example, when a child
mimmicks a certain behaviour of an adult, it can be assumed that the child is able to
interpret the movement and understand that the two behaviours correspond (Zentall,
2002). It can therefore be established that Billie, the wild bottlenosed dolphin who
was taken to the aquarium for medical treatment and learnt the tailwalking trick
through merely observing her fellow pool mates, has neurons known as mirror
neurons . This enabled a triggered mirror response to the behaviour of another. Due to
the anatomical correlation linking to the brains of both humans and animals it can be
said that animals have minds and similar cognitive capacties to those of humans (The

Media Role In The Media
Media plays a big role in society these days. Whether it be letting society know
what is going on the in the world today or something as simple as updates on
current life on social media. The media s role in society not only delivers
information of the world but also brings people together through common interests
or general talks. In Brian Knappenberger s documentary: Nobody Speak: Trials of
Free Press it is seen how media effect lives and how there is a much stronger
meaning to what media stands for in society and why media needs to take its stand
when it comes to people who want to devour them. Media is one of the key areas
where power is exercised, reinforced, contested and very influent in the political,
social, and economic fields. This statement that has been discussed in the previous
lectures clearly relates to the message that comes across from Brian Knappenberger
s documentary of Nobody Speak: The Trial of Free Press. Throughout the
documentary, it is argued that those who have influential backgrounds, or have deep
pockets are capable of buying their way out of scandals, and concealing facts and
their truths in front of media. A publisher and reporter s duty to the public eye is to
report and reveal the truth about the world around them without hiding anything from
them. As David Folkenflik mentioned, during Hulk Hogan s case, without the
backing of some wealthy billionaire, there is little of what an independent publisher
[of media] can do. Media is an

The Liberator By Alberto Arvelo
In 2013 the biopic of SimГіn BolГvar called The Liberator , directed by Alberto
Arvelo was created to demonstrate the liberation of Latin America during the 1800s
as well as the various obstacles SimГіn BolГvar had overcome in order to free his
country. The Liberator was an impactful film that truly demonstrated the hardships
and inferiority of indigenous life due to Spain s reign of dominance which drastically
damaged the overall tone and development of many Latin Americans. Throughout the
duration of the film, various themes such as inequality, nationalism, and liberalism
were present during BolГvar s war against the Spanish Empire; BolГvar s ideals on
the true destiny of man had both divided the country between patriots and royalists as
well as sparking a revolution against the Spanish due to his disobedience. SimГіn
BolГvar was a Venezuelan militaries and political leader known as The Liberator for
his role in challenging the powerful Spanish Empire in order to establish
independence and equality within Latin America. However, despite fighting for a

BolГvar s leadership was often questioned due to his determination to win liberty.

when she would come to my school for report card pick up , I wanted to make sure
everyone knew some way some how, that this beautiful creature was my mother. I

The Mafia is a type of organized crime syndicate. Organized crime is a certain type
of crime that is neatly executed and well planned out. When a group, like the mafia,
attends in organized crime, it almost always involves illegal activity and is for a
profit of some sort. Other times the mafia collects money or dues from a shopkeeper

protected from other gangs for as long as the owner pays their dues.
Organized crime groups also provide a range of illegal services and goods. Some of
the most common mobster activities were loan sharking as well as assassinations.

Elements Of Comedy In Merchant Of Venice
The genre of William Shakespeare s most performed play has been debated for a
long time: is it a comedy or a tragedy? The play has elements of both genres, but
one is clearly prevalent. While the story hits upon the tragic element of despair, The
Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare, is a comedy because lovers are
separated, characters are in disguise, and the story has a happy ending.
From the very beginning of The Merchant of Venice, we see the comedic element of
lovers being separated time and time again. First, Jessica and Lorenzo are not
permitted to marry or see each other because of their different religions and her
father s fervent hatred for Christians. Lorenzo certain, and my love indeed / For
who love I so much? (2.vi.30 31). Jessica and Lorenzo and certain they are in love,
despite the distance that separates them. Later, in Act 3, Bassanio must leave Portia
to return to Venice where Antonio is waiting to see him one last time. And then
away to Venice to your friend! / For never shall you lie by Portia s side / With an
unquiet soul (3.ii.317 19). This separation between Bassanio and Portia allows the
audience to connect with the irony of these young lovers struggle. These separations
between lovers lead to another element of comedy costumes.
Of the three women in this play, each dresses as a man once, furthering the
comedic air with clever disguises. Jessica starts off the chain of costumes by

Mobile Phone And Modern Cell Phone
Research Question Over years technology has expanded dramatically. The amount
of high level technology that is around us today in popular culture is massive.
Things such as ipads, computers, tvs, ipods, and especially cell phones are used
24/7. Since 1876, when Alexander Graham Bell invented the first phone, it was a
major success in technology. People could finally communicate with each other on
the phone without actually having to see the person. The invention was great and
really expanded the world with the telephone. Humans love to socialize. Before
the telephone was invented people had to get up and actually physically talk to the
person. However, as time went on phones have expanded. Home phones led to cell
phones and now we have all the iphones. Are we getting more sociable with the
resource we have in the cell phone? Not just the physical aspect of the phone but all
the things that apply on the phone such as all the social media apps like twitter,
facebook, and instagram that are all accessible on the phone. The research study
that i want to analyze is does the modern day cell phone make people less
physically social. Method In order to test this theory out I first think it s important
to define what sociable means. Sociable can be taken in different ways so i would
like to clarify specifically for this experiment. Socialization is the process by which
a living organism is changed into a person and a social human being. It is with the
help of this process that
The Blues, By Jelly Roll Morton And Mamie s Blues
Even after slavery, African American women are still imprisoned by their inferior
role to men. The women could be from different statuses based on job, wealth, or
marital status, but they are would find themselves suffering under the rules of their
men. The blues Wild Women Don t Have the Blues by Ida Cox and Mamie s Blues
by Jelly Roll Morton talk about the challenges of women living during the Harlem
Renaissance. The blues surrounded the African Americanwomen during this time, and
these songs talk about women facing hardships in life because they are second class
citizens compared to men.
The women in these blues are in relationships that have caused their blues. In Cox s
blues, the woman is in a relationship with an alcoholic. As a young child, she
followed society s rules, because she believed this would grant her a blissful life.
Instead she is punished with a horrible relationship and she feels betrayed by her
destiny. She regrets living in between the lines, when she could have lived
frivolously like a wild woman. Morton s song describes the life of a wild woman
described in Cox s song. The woman lives in the city and is in a relationship with
an unemployed man. Although she is not trapped in a house like the previous song,
she is trapped being the sole breadwinner for herself and her man. The woman is
described as being wild because she is acting improperly by openly begging to men
for money. When a woman begs for money, it exposes the man for not providing for
European Integration And The European Union
Enlargement
This literature review provides evidence of the research conducted in order to
increase the knowledge regarding the topic in question: the EU enlargement. The
paper analyses, first of all, the why and how of the European Union enlargement.
Starting from outlining the main reasons of the European integration and its benefits,
as well as the perspectives of the controversial issues that the European integration
presents. In particular, the difficulties of agreeing which country should join the
monetary union and the numerous problems that the enlargement brings to the other
European states, taking into account the major changes that the monetary union
bring. The literature review closes with the question: how big the European
integration should be, as well as the numerous critical appraisals and the solutions that
different authors propose. In order to demonstrate and give an overview of the
research made regarding of the EU enlargement.
In carrying out the review books, journals and websites were consulted. The sources
were pronominally post 2006.
The European Union is a regional integration, born to aggregate the countries
survived from the Second World War and to promote productivity and economic
growth. Moreover, to contribute to defeat the social and financial inequalities
between the European countries. It is important to make a distinction about the
reasons that leaded the European Union to enlarge. David Long (2000) recognises
that the EU has expanded numerous times
What Is The Argument Of The Third Tuesday By Morris
Carrie
For this comparing arguments essay, I chose regret. The section titled The Third
Tuesday is my first argument about Morrie s opinion on regrets, how we are
affected by it, and his experiences with them on pages 62 to 68. My other argument
is an online article about what we regret the most and why (This explanation is
also its title) by Neal J. Rose and Amy Summerville. I am checking these arguments
for their usage of logos for their positions, if their arguments are sufficient, and if
their arguments are deductive and valid. Morrie s argument wasn t mainly focused
on logos. Morrie was spread out between all 3 appeals. He showed how he was
brave and unregretful when he was so close to death, he explained logically why
people these days don t think about regret, and very emotionally from how he was
observed and how Mitch perceived him about regret. Mitch notices, Morrie was
looking at life from a very different place than anyone else I knew... And he was
about to die Mitch noticed how he was strong when logically it wouldn t make sense
too. The online argument... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chapter (The Third Tuesday) didn t give very much about regret and was mostly
about the current day and what happened. What Morrie did share about regret was
very little and insufficient but very important. An example what Morrie shared is
when he said, Mitch, the culture doesn t encourage you to think about such things
until you re about to die. The online argument had an exceeding amount of
information, studies, references, and research about regret. This topic wasn t just
sufficient it had more than I really needed for this kind of assignment. An example of
how much they had is how they had 7 paragraphs on opportunities. Their explanation

According to Wikipedia, Religion in the United States is characterized by a diversity
of religious beliefs and practices. Various religious faiths have flourished within the
United States. A majority of Americans report that religion plays a very important
role in their lives, a proportion unique among developed countries. 70.6% of the
American population identified themselves as Christians, with 46.5% professing
attendance at a variety of churches that could be considered Protestant, and 20.8%
professing Roman Catholic beliefs. The same study says that other religions
(including Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam) collectively make up about 6%
of the population (Wikipedia, 2017).
It s important to realize that 7 out of 10 of our potential clients identify themselves
as Christians and possibly one would be a Muslim or a Buddhist. However, as I
said above, even within Christianity, one can offend another so easily. I ve seen a
lot of family arguments over politics and religion. It s just a subject to stay away
unless a client really wants to go there. Even conducting mindfulness, deep breathing
could possibly offend someone since it would appear to be practicing a Buddhist
religious practice.

regarding ethics, there is one standard, do to others what you would have them to do

Argumentative Essay On Teen Violence
One morning a young college student wakes up and he wonders what it would be
like to kill someone. Just like any normal day he goes to class. After class, he
invites his best friend to go home with him. Once they are home, the college student
brutally stabs and kills his best friend. No one can understand why he did it. Over
the past several years, acts of teen violencehave made both local and national news
headlines. The headlines include teens that have performed mass shootings and other
violent acts. In some cases, something may have triggered these young people into
performing the violent acts, or perhaps, the violence was the result of longtime
issues that ultimately exploded into aggressive, violent behavior. Teens may become
violent when they do not have family support that they need, when they are faced
with struggles at school, or when they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
For starters, family support plays an important role in a teen s ability to cope with
struggles. When the home lacks essential needs such as emotional support the teen
will not be equipped to handle life difficulties and he may resort to violence. An
article written by Cecil Hardaway, from the Social Science Research Institute of Duke
University, examines how kinship support and parental involvement can help teens
when it comes to internalizing and externalizing problems. In the article Family

The demand for indigo cake increased as many wanted to use the cake for various
purposes, such as using it as a blue dye for their painting. However, the supply of
indigo cake was decreasing due to the hard production method, resulting a fluctuation
in its price. But, a German chemist, Johann Friedrich Willhelm Adolf von Baeyer,
developed a cheaper alternative method by making synthetic indigo. He started
working with indigo in 1865. His work resulted in the first chemical synthesis of
indigo, in 1880. And then, three years later, he announced the chemical structure of
synthetic indigo. He then sold this invention to BASF (Badische Anilin und Soda
Fabrik), an international chemical company, for $100,000. Synthetic indigo, by
1913, had almost completely replaced natural indigo, and by 2002, 17000 tons of
synthetic indigo were produced worldwide.

The Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Essay
This paper will address how the Fukushima Nuclear Power plant violated the
following NSPE Canons of Engineering Ethics: holding the paramount of safety,
health, and welfare of the public, and avoiding deceptive acts. The misjudgment and
underperformance by the engineers during the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake caused a
large uproar of rejection towards nuclear powerin Japan, which could have been
prevented if the engineers had not misconducted before the events. On March 11th,
2011, the northern section of Japan was hit by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake,
followed by a 15 meter tsunami, causing the death of over 15000 people. (Spacey)
Even though the earthquake and the tsunami caused a tremendous amount of deaths
in the northern region of Japan, the meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear power
plant caused a severe damage to northern Japan s ecosystem that people still cannot
go back to their homes; despite it is 4 years after the disaster. After the earthquake,
the tsunami destroyed the power supply used by Fukushima s three nuclear power
stations, causing severe levels of meltdown to be occurred inside the reactors in the
timespan of 3 days. It was not until 2 weeks after the tragedy, when the reactors were
finally stabilized, and took several months to approach what is called a cold

There were several decisions made before and during the Tohoku earthquake, which

John Lewis And The State Of Washington
Introduction
On November 19, 2016 I went to Price County Superior Court from 9:30am 12pm. I
watched the court session in room 202A of case #16 077 01126 between John Lewis
and the State of Washington. Present in the courtroom was Judge Whitener,
prosecutor Lewis of WA state, John Lewis the defendant representing himself, an
appointed court member to assist the defendant, Deputy Kevin Pressel who gave the
witness testimony, and lastly the court reporter, clerk, and bailiff (no jury). In this
case, Lewis driving a truck was being followed by another vehicle who also reported
that Lewis shot a revolver out his window. The two vehicles ultimately crashed and
police were called to the scene. Pressel was first to arrive and identified and
detained Lewis. Soon after Pressel identified a firearm in the truck, but Lewis
denied he had a firearm and thinks it was planted by the people in other vehicle. The
court session today between Lewis and WA State, was questing the legality of Pressel
taking the Firearm from the vehicle without warrant and if the firearm is tampered
evidence.
Background
On March 17, 2016 the defendant John Lewis was accused of drive by shooting,
possession of a firearm in the first degree and driving with a suspended license in
the third degree. On this day at approximately 4:00 pm in the area of Mountain

Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men and Women
Fountain of Youth
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or also known as hormone therapy (HT) is a
government approved treatment that has seen a resurgence in popularity due to it
benefits for men and women. From menopause to osteoporosis, HRT can help treat
and prevent medical ailments that affect thousands of people in a variety of age
groups.
Managing Menopause
HRT is one of the most effective practices used to help women manage the
discomfort they may experience during menopause. Reduced levels of estrogen and
progesterone can cause hot flashes, mood swings, night sweats, vaginal dryness and
sleep disturbances. An estrogen only therapy (ET) will give most women the relief
they need from these issues. Women who have had a hysterectomy are usually

The addition of progestogen will help protect the uterus from developing uterine
(endometrial) cancer.
Women receiving HRT containing estrogen will not only see a reduction of their
menopausal symptoms but there is also the benefit of improved brain function,
thicker hair and bone density, as well as better sleep and muscle function.
Osteoporosis
When estrogen levels decrease, a woman s chances for developing osteoporosis
increases following menopause. Studies have shown that women who receive HRT
during menopause have had a greater bone density in the early and late
postmenopausal stage.
Men receiving a testosterone replacement therapy will also see the benefit of
increased bone density and will be at a much lower risk of developing osteoporosis as
well.
Reverse the Aging Process? Possibly
Another type of HRT is human growth hormone (HGH) treatment. While this may not
be the fountain of youth, receiving this injection form of HRT can produce tighter
and firmer skin. Stronger nails and a better functioning immune system are other

Review Of Nineteen Eighty Four And The Film Adaptation
A literary adaptation is defined as a composition that has been recast into a new
form e.g novel, play or screen production . (Ross, 2009, p.5) It has been noted that
almost a third of all film productions ever created were based on novel adaptations,
and in today s contemporary society the book to film adaptation cycle is more present
than ever. Although this could to seen as an innocent move allowing great texts to be
more approachable and appreciated by modern culture, it has been argued that the
process damages the original content and understanding that is taken from the source
material. By discussing and analysing some of the main factors and issues filmmakers

accounts the lives of the characters and events occurring around them. The text is
filled with intense and thought provoking scenarios that relate heavily to the main

and his every quirk. The world George Orwell has created is filled with perplexing

Filmmakers have been adapting novels for over a century, but how have they been
able to transpose stories to the extent that the audience can recognize the novel

Gay Women And The Stereotypes Of Lesbians And Lesbians
Everyone knows a woman that dresses feminine in long, flowy dresses, bright pink
lipstick, and towering high heels. Personally, my usual attire is composed of a flower
headband and a pastel yellow sundress. People typically expect straight women to
uphold a certain feministic standard and anticipate that lesbian women appear
masculine. Lesbiansare stereotyped to have short hair, wear striped flannels and
boyfriend jeans, and not wear makeup. Masculine appearing women are assumed to
be gay; however, there is a group of lesbian women who dress femininely. Lipstick
lesbians, or LLs, are a part of the feminine lesbian community. The LGBT(lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender) community has built up recently and an abundance
of stereotypes as well. Contrary to popular belief, lesbians are not bound to one
appearance. We as humans should have the opportunity to express ourselves in
whichever way we desire. Similar to everyone else, lesbians appearances do not
have to be strictly based off of who they are attracted to. Lipstick lesbians positively
influence lesbian stereotypes because they defy masculine appearance and are
unafraid to express themselves. By recognizing that lesbians who dress femininely are
still lesbians, individuals can avoid awkward and uncomfortable situations by being
respectful and acknowledging their boundaries.
Lipstick lesbians commonly dress in a feminine fashion, are polite and gentle
people, and are not afraid to fight back against rude people. LLs

Essay On Honesty
Honesty is the best policy. We have always been taught this and also that to lie is a
bad thing to do. There is a certain beauty in living life with honesty. While the
benefits of and motivations for choosing honesty in life are many including that
truthfulness and honesty are integral to one s sense of moral integrity living a life
of honesty ultimately means having little to regret. Living with honesty is less
about persistently resorting to truth over deception, and is more about living your

In many situations it is a good idea to keep quiet or, better still, be diplomatic and
tactfully handle sensitive issues. The line dividing honesty and diplomacy is a thin
one. We have to be careful in deciding when to be honest and when to be at our
diplomatic best. We also have to decide whether we should be absolutely candid, or
use the truth as a matter of convenience.
Wars are won by words not weapons. For centuries people have tried to solve their
problems by negotiation. To escape conflicts and wars they have used words to
persuade their opponents. That is where diplomacy begins. Diplomacy is an
intellectual activity and decision making derived from ongoing analysis of current
situations. Diplomacy includes the combination of ways and abilities which any state
can use for its worthy existence in the world and for establishing cooperation with
other members of international community.
In modern day and age, one has to practice diplomacy as it is essential to get one s
way in a world that is highly competitive. What you say matters a lot. One has to be
careful while conveying issues as they would have an impact on one s surroundings.
Building up of personal relationships depends upon your choice of words, how you

Women Of Hamlet By William Shakespeare
Women of Hamlet
Women are a very important part of this world although they are sometimes not
portrayed that way. One would think they would be seen as significant because of the
fact that women make up almost half of the world s population. Throughout all of
history, females have been considered the weaker sex. In the play, Hamlet, written by
William Shakespeare, women are portrayed as weak minded and unfaithful. The
inability to correctly make important life decisions, a weakened mental state, and
complete obedience to men all contribute to this point.
First, women are shown unable to make to make decisions; even simple choices, if
made against a man s advice, turn into chaos. At the conclusion of the play, Hamlet,
Gertrude makes a choice that goes against what her husband wants:
QUEEN. The Queen carouses to thy fortune, Hamlet.
HAMLET. Good madam!
KING. Gertrude, do not drink.
QUEEN. I will, my lord; I pray you pardon me. (5.2.262 64) Soon after this exchange
of words, the Queen falls ill to the poisoned drink and dies. The only time she ever
makes a choice for herself, she dies because of it. This adds evidence by showing
she is not able to make a correct decision. Ophelia dies earlier on in the play of
suspected suicide. She drowns after going insane over her father s death, while her
brother is left perfectly sane. Laertes may want revenge, but his wits are in good
shape. Left without her father to make every single choice for

Morning is very abstract, has tropes that further the images presented, and is not
confined to form. The perception of human ambiguities and abstract possibilities in
homely bits of nature may have originated in Robert Frost. (N.A. 288) His work like
most other authors of his time is influenced by others like Robert Frost and William
Carlos Williams. This poem is heavily influenced by Robert Frost. Frost likes to
create poetrythat helps you bring some meaning out of a situation presented in
nature. For close inspection, the form, sentence structures, and syntax are a
highlight of what he wants to convey to the reader. Easter Morning is in written
free verse and divided into verse paragraphs. (enotes.com) Along with the other
literary figures of his time that have an influence on his work, this poem is truly
free verse. It doesn t have any syllabic pattern, or run on sentences. The syntax is
very clear, coherent. It is almost childlike in its simplicity. This adds to the overall
feeling Ammons wants to convey to the reader. The sentence structure is very
precise. He leaves some words all alone that are to cause a break in the reading.
They also leave the reader thinking why he did that. ...all in the graveyard assembled,

The Legal Drinking Age Should Be Legal Essay
People drink liquor for various reasons; anxiety, celebration, insomnia etc.
Teenagers fall under the category of people . The legal drinking age presently is
twenty one in the United States Of America. I can guarantee you that the underage
drinking age rate would drop if the age were brought down. One of the reasons
behind drinking is enjoyment but the primary purpose behind underage drinking is
breaking the law . The law says an eighteen year old is mature enough to make his
/her life decisions, yet not ready to drink liquor. In the United Statesthere are
different rules for various ages, however when a person turns 18 they tend to move
out of their parents and start to begin their own life with their friends. Eighteen
year olds have the privilege to vote, get married, and serve in the military, and
those even younger than eighteen can drive and become parents. Therefore, it
appears to be odd and contradictory for them to not be able to purchase alcohol. We
as a whole know why teenagers usually drink. Simply the vibe that they get of
breaking the law is huge. Being rebellious and not following the principles is an
essential part of a teenager. Regardless of the fact that it is illegal for teens to
purchase alcoholic beverages, they are still able to get it through their parent s
cupboards, or from their senior friends who purchase it for them. We as a whole
observe, that is not hard for teens to get liquor. Why not bring down the drinking age
then?
Abortion Is The Act Of Ending The Human Life Of A
Pregnant...
In the following paragraphs we will see a basic discussion on six general ways that
abortion is performed. We go into graphic detail explaining the procedures that are
used in such manners. Here we determine within ourselves if abortion is right,
justifiable, non justifiable, wrong, murder, manslaughter, or criminal negligence.
Here we posed provoking questions that make one think on the issues that are
relevant to living things. Here we are shown what one side is like and excusable for
a fetus while depicting the other side of the same procedures that are used on living
born human beings and become punishable by a court of law. Through detail and
research we see what a double mined society we have and conscience seared people
that we associate with. The decision is yours, what will it be? Abortion is the act of
ending the human life of a fetus inside the womb of a pregnant woman, usually
preformed within the first twenty eight weeks of a pregnancy, but can be done
throughout the pregnancy up to the last three months before actual birth. Abortions
are more times than not performed in an abortion clinic with a surgical procedure
(Stacey 2014). Abortions usually insure the wellbeing of the mother, although the
fetus has to die. There are six different ways to perform these surgical procedures
mentioned for abortion that are legal in the United States today: dilation curettage,
dilation evacuation, intra cardiac injection, saline injection, prostaglandin,
Goodrich Rabobank Interest Rate Swap Essay example
1.How large should the discount (X) be to make this an attractive deal for Rabobank?
2.How large must the annual fee (F) be to make this an attractive deal for Morgan
Guaranty?
3.How small must the combination of F and X be to make this an attractive deal for
B.F. Goodrich?
4.Is this an attractive deal for the savings banks?
5.Is this a deal where everyone wins? If not, who loses?
Introduction:
Players: Morgan Bank, Rabobank, and B.F. Goodrich, Salomon Brothers, Thrift
Institutions and Saving Banks
Goodrich:
In early 1983, Goodrich needed $50 million to fund its ongoing financial needs.
However, Goodrich was reluctant to borrow (short term debt) from its committed
bank lines because of the following reasons:
1.It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Invest in short term treasury bills, large CD s of commercial banks.
Floating rate notes of major US banks whose yields were tied to the Treasury bill
notes.
Buy Goodrich floating rate notes with a yield tied to the LIBOR.
Structuring of the Swap:
In the swap depicted above the following can be calculated:
1.Goodrich receives the following amount semi annually:
(LIBOR+0.5%)+(LIBOR x1) 10.7% = x1+11.2%
2.Morgan receives the following amount as fees: (LIBOR x1)+(LIBOR x2)+10.7%
10.7% = x1 x2.
Note: As stated in the case (footnote #2 on page 362) this fee can be anywhere
between 8 basis points and 37.5 basis points.
3.Rabobank receives following amount semi annually: (LIBOR x2)+10.7% 10.7% =
x2 LIBOR i.e. it will give out LIBOR x2.
From exhibit 3 the following is also given:
4.Since Goodrich has BBB credit rating it could raise capital at a fixed rate probably
at 12.5% for 7 10 years.
5.Also, Rabobank could raise floating rate debt at LIBOR 1/8% (LIBOR + Вј% 3
/8%) since it is an AAA rated bank.
Therefore,
6.From (1), and 4, Goodrich saves the following amount in semiannual interest
payments : 12.5% (x1+11.2%) = 1.3% x1.
7.From (2), and (5) Rabobank saves the following amount in semiannual interest
payments: LIBOR 1/8% (LIBOR x2) = x2 1/8%.
8.For this deal to occur,
Differences Between The Crucible Play And Movie
The play we read and watched as a movie was called The Crucible. The play and
movie had several differences in three major areas those being: the setting, the plot,
and the characters. The film was based on the play which is why there were
plentiful differences between them. I believe the play was made into a movie to
give the event a different view on what was happening as well as make the event
more clear as to what was happening throughout the scenes. Making it into a filmalso
adds more drama to it with the music and the way they shot the scenes. The movie
starts off with a scene in the forest that was somewhat different to the play. What the
characters do in that scene causes an abundant amount of people to believe that
witchcraft is being... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To start with, in one of the scenes, Betty is yelling for her mother and starts
screaming nonstop. This does not happen in the play for Betty never yells or
screams in the play for she stays inert and pretends to be ill. Another difference
would be with Reverend Parris for in the scene where he asks Abigail if her name
is clean in the town , in the movie he slaps her while in the play he does not lay a
single finger on her. In another scene where Tituba is accused of witchcraft,
Reverend Parris only threatens to whip Tituba to death in the play, while in the
movie he actually does whip her until she confesses to practicing witchcraft. The
final character change in the movie would be that Abigail proves she falsely
accused people of witchcraft because she loved John Proctor, unlike in the play
where she shows she commits all this chaos due to lust. This can be shown by the
scene in the movie where she goes to John Proctor while he is in prison and says
that she has arranged everything for her to leave the town and for him to
accompany her if he chooses to go with her. She would not have done this if it were
just lust for she would not care so much for his life
Describe Your Rocket Research Paper
Describe your rocket.
At the top of the rocket is the nose cone that guides the air around the rocket.
Underneath the nose cone is the parachute and the shroud lines that were used when
the rocket was falling back down to the ground. The body tube is made of rolled
paper or plastic with a special coating so that it has the strength, since it is the basic
airframe of the rocket. The launch plug is on the side of the tube that goes on the
launch rod so that when the rocket first sets off, it is more controlled. At the bottom
of the rocket is the fins, the engine mount, engine, and igniter and plug. The fins are
used for guidance and the engine mount holds the engine in place inside the body
tube. The Igniter and plug is used as a safe way to ... Show more content on

Rockets are a very complex aircraft, using instructions are key, but if you follow the
instructions carefully then it is not hard to build. If you glue something together that
doesn t need to be glued could potentially ruin your rocket. I also learned that the
bottom needs to be heavily glued together because after I shot my rocket off, the
bottom pieces came off and I lost the fins, the engine mount, the engine, and the
igniter and plug. Another thing that I learned, not necessarily about the rocket itself
but the conditions, is that it is probably better to not set off rockets when there is a
lot of wind. The rockets already travel far but if the parachute catches the wind then it
would make the rocket travel much farther.
3.) How does aerodynamics play apart in the flight of a rocket? Aerodynamics for a
rocket is about how the air flows over and around the rocket and also about how it
affects the drag and stability of the rocket. Aerodynamics is the study of the forces
and the resulting motion of the objects flying in the air. It depends on the shape,
size, and velocity of the rocket, It plays apart in the flight of the rocket because
aerodynamics affects and goes hand and hand with the lift and drag that is caused by
the air moving around the rocket.
4.) What are the following forces and what do they do with the
Mariah Carey Research Paper
Mariah Carey s skintight little black dress is heating up the conversation on social
media channels.
Mariah appeared at the TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly Grauman s) in Los Angeles
on Wednesday. Like many other major movie stars before her, Mariah Carey was the
guest of honor at a Hand and Footprint ceremony to immortalize her contributions to
Hollywood entertainment.
As Mariah has done time and time again, she came dressed for the occasion and stuck
to the fashion script by wearing an LBD and a pair of diva kicks. For the ceremony
on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the All I Want For Christmas singer wore a pair of
$900 Christian Louboutin stilettos. Carey said the shoes were not comfortable, but
she will never forget the moment they were
Ultrasound Imaging
Ultrasound imaging including fetal echocardiograms have only been used for about
forty years.1 Although this technology is newer, they have learned much between
the time that it was developed and now. With this newer technology, there are many
benefits, but there are also risks, which we need to know how to limit. We need to
know what this technology is, what the benefits and risks are, and how we are to
limit those risks. To completely understand the benefits and risks, we need to know
what this technology does for us. Before all else, how does ultrasoundwork? The U.S.
Drug Administration states that, Ultrasound imaging uses high frequency sound
waves to view inside the body .2 This means that ultrasound imaging is not damaging

In the article 3D/4D sonography any safety problems , there was a report about a
twenty minute exposure of 3.5 megahertz to pregnant rats, which concluded in
damage to learning and memory, reduced mRNA, NMDA, and more.3 They found
that this could have been caused by heat through the attachment of the probe. A
way to reduce this occurrence can be by placing thirty seven degree celsius
stabilized water in between the probe and the animal.3 Although this happened in a
rat, we have to take precautions for pregnant women. We need to be able to monitor
the thermal and mechanical indexes below one and have shorter exposure times to
about thirty minutes or less.3 The ultrasound waves can produce heat to the tissues
to some extent, that is why you do not want to over expose. Also, the ultrasound
equipment should be handled by a professional ultrasound technologist. According
to the Radiologic Society of North America in their article 3D and 4D Fetal
Ultrasound Advances Spark Research, Create Challenges , there are gatherings for
expectant parents called ultrasound parties , which are very similar to keepsake
images/videos that are done without medical indication.7 Ultrasound parties include
the technologist coming to the expectant parents house to show the fetal
movements to all their guests. This means the probe will be on the mother s skin
for hours. As radiologist and members of the health care team, we want to stick to a
principle called ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). This means we want
everything to be as low as possible while obtaining a proper image including a
smaller exposure. Although ultrasound waves may not harm the fetus as much as x
rays do, we still want to protect the unborn child as much as possible. This can be
achieved by reducing the heat getting to the tissues, shorter exposure times (around

Changes in the business environment and labour market...
By looking out the definitions of HRP from Dessler (1999), Stone (2002), and
Schuler (1998), HRP can be defined as the systematic and continuous process to
ensure that organization s human resource needs are fulfilled by ensuring that the
right people with the correct skills are available when required. Shortly, HRP is
essentially focus on matching the individual and the needs of the organization to
gaining a competitive advantage in marketplace.
HRP is important because the HR plan affects all HR activities and acts as the
strategic link between organizational and HRM objectives (Stone 2002). It can reduce
the human resources cost by helping management to anticipate and correct the
shortages and surpluses of employees. An addition, HRP ... Show more content on

External environment can be categorized to 2 elements that are societal environment
and task environment (Anthony et al. 1999). The factors of external environment
include legal and political, economic, social, and demographic, labour market,
competition, technological, and industrial relations. Each factor either separately or
in combination with others, can place constraints on human resource management.
Therefore, HR managers must analyze the external environment to identify any
strategic opportunities and threats that may be present in the future, so that the
organization can take the advantage of external opportunities and minimize external
problems.
The labour market is the geographical area from which employees are recruited for
a particular job (Mondy et al. 1999). Changes in the labour market create constraints
i.e. societal trends and culture for employers finding applicants with the right levels
of skills (Noe et al.). The unemployment rate, education levels, occupation levels,
and the mix of the age and sex will be the four key used to examine the measures of
labour market (Anthony et al.1999). Those people who are not working and not
looking for the job, for example households, retires, and students are considered as
being out of the labour forces . Therefore this kind of unemployed people will not be
the factor of unemployment rate measurement. Usually, the unemployment rate will
be high during the
Melba Pattillo Beals, Cear Chavez, And Mother Jones
It s very hard to stand up for people s rights, but Melba Pattillo Beals, Cesar Chavez,
and Mother Jones are three individuals that did. Melba fought for equality while
Chavez and Mother Jones worked to improve working conditions. These three heroic
individuals all enacted change in a positive way for human rights.
Melba Pattillo Beals was a very brave individual who fought to end segregation. She,
along with eight other students integrated Central High School, which was an all
white prestigious school. She was mistreated by her peers, for example, Melba
states that on the first day of school I was trying to escape the hanging rope of a
lynch mob, dodging lightened sticks of dynamite, and washing away burning acid
sprayed in my eyes (Beals 1). Melba went through many challenges in her days
integrating, but she continued to step up to the plate, showing how brave and
determined she was. In addition, while Melba was trying to use the restroom,
flaming paper balls came piling down on her, and as she screamed for help, she
breathed it in and choked, finally she threw her textbooks at the attackers as
defense (Beals 164). This shows the fact that Melba has courage and is not afraid
to fight back. In the end it was all worth it, Melba ended up being able to attend
San Francisco State University, where she roomed with people of different skin
colors (Beals 310). In conclusion, she came a long way and went from being an
innocent young girl to a well known, brave individual, who
Why Healthcare Should Be Free
Why healthcare should be free. Every day we see people seek, we watch the news
and we see people can t pay their medicines because they are really expensive. I saw
someone staying all month in bed because he could not pay the hospital. There is a
lot of people dead just because of not having free healthcare they want to be
healthy but there is no opportunity for them. Healthcare should be free because we
have a lot of people who are not insured, we have high prices for medicines, and
also our people deserve free healthcare because they pay taxes for everything. First
of all, if we see some of the facts, 44 million of people have no insurance according
to estimation of 2015. http://www.pbs.org/. The people who are most at risk today

Methane Faults
Tectonic plates, giant masses of land that are moving constantly, create faults, where
tectonic plates meet. Scientists have discovered something new and extraordinary at
these faults. They found that the chemical compound , methane, a greenhouse gas, is
being released through these faults called brittle faults. Methaneis moving to less
shallow parts of the earths crust or into the oceans themselves. Although methane is
known to be bad for the environment, scientists found out that they can precisely date
fault lines by examining the methane in the area. A special study called The Nature
Communications in Norway has precisely dated a fault line to 200 million years ago.
By using this method of dating, scientists could end up precisely dating
Oxidative Stress Research Paper
Oxidative stress and strokes
In the pathogenesis of acute ischemic stroke low molecular antioxidants are absorbed
in the reaction with free radicals generated during oxidative stress. The endogenous
catalytic system comprises a number of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide
dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase. Among these, the first line of
defense is the catalase, which decomposes hydrogen peroxide, since its accumulation
can lead to the formation of free radicals (12, 13).
Oxidative stress culminates due to the imbalance between pro oxidants and
antioxidants and consecutive excessive production of reactive oxygen species.
Reactive oxygen species are biphasic, taking part in normal physiological
processes, but are also involved in a number of disease processes, which mediate
damage to cell structures, including lipid membranes, proteins and DNA. Cerebral
circulatory system is the main objective of oxidative stress, because it plays a
critical role in the pathogenesis of ischemic brain damage as a result of a
cerebrovascular attack. Superoxide, the main reactive oxygen species, and its
derivatives cause vasodilatation by opening potassium channels, as well as
deterioration of vascular reactivity. However, reactive oxygen species are involved in
normal physiological processes, including cell signaling, ... Show more content on

In post ischemic brains oxidative stress triggers the activation of microglia and
astrocytes (20), leading to sharp increases in the levels of inflammatory mediators
such as cytokines, chemokines and matrix metalloproteases (21), and causing a loss
of integrity of the endothelial cells in the brain, as manifestated by the upregulation
of cell adhesion molecules and neurotrophic infiltration (22). This is likely to provoke
a consecutive secondary inflammation and glial immune response, resulting in
permanent damage to the brain cells
Semiotics of Gloves Essay
A glove protects. A glove provides warmth. A glove provides safety. A glove
possesses many different qualities. The presence of a glove in Cather in the Rye
and Winter s Bone is something that readers possibly overlook before delving into
the true significance of the book. Once readers closely analyze the importance within
a text, some realize that a small symbol can mean something more than life to a
particular character. Both J.D. Salinger and Daniel Woodrell provide a divine
illustration of how individual culturereflects the arbitrary connection of a specific
symbol. In Kaja Silverman s The Subject of Semiotics, theorist Charles Sanders
Peirce demonstrates his specific knowledge about sign theory. He writes that a sign is

exemplifies Allie s individuality. It is understood that after analyzing Holden s
character he hates conflict with anything around him. He is confused by his brother

the barrier her has created for himself. This is seen when he struggles to explain to
Stradlater his descriptive composition assignment. Holden failed to describe a room
or house, and instead described the baseball glove. Holden gives Stradlater the
composition and the conversation flows as follows, This is about a goddamn
baseball glove. So what? I said. Cold as hell. Wuddya mean so what? I told ya it
had to be about a goddamn room or a house or something. You said is had to be
descriptive. What the hell s the difference if it s about a baseball glove? (41). This
is definitely contributes to part of his culture and how he chooses to conduct his
life. The glove is a part of him, and to others, a worn out, left handed baseball mitt
with scribbles of poems may not mean anything, but to Holden, it means the world
because that is all he has left of his brother. Holden keeps Allie alive through the
baseball glove. And although it s just an old worn
Reasons For Preventing Delays For Closing Delays
You accepted the offer and the buyer have agreed with the closing date, hopefully
with any closing delays. The final goal for both the seller and the buyer is have all
parties involve dint he process to prevent any closing delays. The delays aren t
always caused by the seller or the buyer. In some cases the delays are due to the
lender or financial instructions and how long they take to process the loanand close.
In California the escrow instructions have different procedures, for instant southern
California signs on the front end, while northern California signs on the back end.
Before anything happens all of the terms of the purchase agreement need to be met,
the seller deposits the deed and the buyer deposits the funds.
Many of the causes for closing delays can be prevented and correctly quickly with
planning and communications. Some common errors causing closing delays include
documentation, incorrect amounts stated on the required funding, or findings from
the buyers final walk through of the home before closing.
7 Ways To Avoid Closing Delays On Your Home Sale

This one is at the top of the list for good reason. Buyers need to keep their lenders

needed to process your loan documents. If your lender can t reach you to get the
information, there s a delay. If you ve been asked to

Statutory Interpretation Essay

  • 1. Statutory Interpretation Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of statutory interpretation can prove to be a challenging endeavor, requiring a deep understanding of legal principles, legislative language, and judicial decisions. The complexity arises from the intricate nature of interpreting statutes, where one must navigate through layers of legal nuances, precedents, and evolving judicial perspectives. The process involves delving into the intricacies of legislative intent, grappling with the various rules and canons of statutory interpretation, and analyzing the dynamic interplay between text and context. It demands a meticulous examination of case law, as courts often contribute to the ongoing dialogue on how statutes should be construed. Moreover, the writer needs to demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the competing methodologies employed by judges, such as textualism, purposivism, and the contextual approach. Balancing these perspectives while presenting a coherent argument adds another layer of difficulty to the task. The essay must also address the challenges posed by ambiguous language, legislative gaps, and the constant evolution of societal values. The writer is tasked with showcasing an ability to critically assess and apply the various tools available to statutory interpreters, all while acknowledging the inherent subjectivity that can be present in the process. In conclusion, composing an essay on statutory interpretation demands not only a comprehensive understanding of legal concepts but also a keen analytical mind to navigate the complexities inherent in the field. Successfully synthesizing these elements into a cohesive and persuasive essay requires time, dedication, and a commitment to precision in legal analysis. If you find yourself needing assistance with similar essays or any other academic writing tasks, various resources, including writing services, can provide valuable support. • 2. The Pauline Epistles I Essay Our source of knowledge of the apostolic work of Paul comes first from the Book of Acts. The epistles written by Paul serve to further our knowledge of his mission. These letters were written to churches that he had founded or churches that were known to him. Luke s account of Paul introduces us to the basic facts about this important biblical figure. A more complete understanding of Paul s journeys can be gleaned from his letters. These epistles were written almost at the time they occurred and they comprise some of the earliest works contained in the New Testament. These letters had already been written when Luke wrote the Book of Acts, but a close reading indicates that they are independent of one another. Paul wrote letters to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It may explain why he mentions in Galatians 6.11, that he wrote in large letters . It was perhaps a reference used to prove that he wrote the letter and that it was not forged. Speculation points to a physical ailment such as bad eyesight but that seems unlikely considering other scripture. PAUL S BACKGROUND An examination of the Pauline epistles should begin with an examination of the author. Saul of Tarsus was a Jewish official a Pharisee. Saul was a persecutor of Christians and an eyewitness to the stoning of Steven. And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man s feet, whose name was Saul. (Acts 7.58 King James Version) He had a vision on the road to Damascus and was blinded. God sent Ananias to heal Saul of his affliction. God also sent Paul a vision of Ananias to let him know that he would be healed. Paul did not learn the Gospel from other men. He received his knowledge directly from Jesus.Paul is developing and spreading the doctrine of the Church in his letters. The body of Christ (the Church) is being revealed in his letters to the seven churches. Paul s revelations about the Church concerned its heavenly calling, promise and destiny. The administration and organization of the Church was revealed to us through the apostle Paul. ROMANS The Book of Romans was written around 57 58 A.D. Paul was writing to the Church in Rome from Corinth. It had long been his desire to go to Rome to

  • 6. Favelas Essay Nicole Whitehurst English Literature Favela s Essay September 27, 2012 Poverty has been around for many centuries, all around the world. Some of the societies governments aren t doing a thing to fix these shanty towns and favelas. They try to keep them isolated from the more wealthy parts of the city. Whether it means putting up fences or just keeping them in a distance from the others. These people are being treated like animals, forced to live in flooded areas on top of one another. The favelas in Rio De Janeiro are very similar to the shanty towns in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Favelas in Rio De Janeiro lie beneath the beautiful part of Brazil. The only thing the government does is put up gates to separate them from the wealthy part of the city. Many people in Jakarta depend on the communal area to wash their clothing and bathe because they don t have there own water supply. Nobody deserves to live like this because it is very dangerous and hazardous. Although there isn t any violence in Jakarta, it s not a good place to live. Its always flooded so you have to travel on little boats made of wood to get from one place to another. Jakarta s slums and Rio De Janeiro s favelas have a lot of things in common. Both of their governments aren t trying to make these living conditions better. They just keep them secluded in one area away from the wealthy parts of the city. It isn t safe nor healthy for people to be living in contaminated water or on top of one another in unsteady shacks. People from around the world come to visit these towns because they find it interesting or attractive that people are living like this, instead of trying to help them they just admire the way they are living. Still to this day nothing is being done to improve this situation. Even though people are poor they shouldn t have to be living like this because they are humans too. Everybody should be treated and looked at equally. Sometimes food is very scarce so people have to go nights without eating anything. No one should have to live there life like

  • 8. Essay about The Roman Military Reforms institued by Gaius... The hypothesis of this report is that the military reforms instituted by Gaius Marius ultimately paved the way for the fall of the Roman Republic. The reforms instituted by Marius were designed as a way to strengthen the Republic by professionalizing the Roman military, but instead resulted in long term political consequences that contributed to the decline of the Republic and the creation of the Empire. In this report, the decline of the republic specifically refers to the loss of the Senate s authority over Rome s generals. From 112 106 BC, a Numidian king called Jurgurtha was engaged in a war with Rome due to an attempt to seize power from his half brother, Adherbal. As many of these new recruits did not fit in these categories, and were unable to provide their own equipment, Marius arranged for the State to supply them with arms and armour. He then offered the masses a permanent career as professional soldiers, and the opportunity to gain spoils on the campaign. With little hope of gaining status in other ways, the masses flocked to join Marius. The cause of this reform was largely due to recurring recruitment problems faced by the Roman republic, as most soldiers were expected to return to their farms after long campaigns, but since the campaigns were becoming increasingly longer due to the distance of the conflicts from rome, the farms were left deserted and ruined do to prolonged absence of workers. As such, the returning soldiers found themselves without property making them illegible for military service, thus weakening the army. (William G. Sinnigen) As such, Marius believed these deficiencies in the Roman army recruitment system needed urgent attention, and his solution was to offer those with nothing the ability to have everything. Along with the new recruitment system, Marius also improved and enhanced the military training by basing it upon those used and developed by gladiators and also abolished the three different types of soldiers, each armed and positioned by rank and experience, with cohorts of men universally armed and created the use of the eagle as the standard for

In an extention this reflects and becomes a sign of refusal against dominating power relations between the genders. I will proove this idea talking about the stigmatization of body hair, according to The last taboo Women and body hair by K. Lesnik Oberstein. I will clearify the context in which these stigmas are founded with The Beauty Mythby Naomi Wolf, who argues that the idea of beauty subordinates women and preserves the male dominance (Wolf, 1991, p. 12). Exess hair , superflous hair and unwanted hair , is only a small selection of ways we describe women s body hair in the Western culture. In contrast to the hair women keep on their heads, body hair only tend to be a relevant issue when we re aiming to remove it. But not even in commercials for hair removal products we re confronted with it: either the unshaved body sections are hidden with foam, or we re exposed to the hairless result of shaving. A History of the Brain The Beast Within (Video 6) The Beast Within refers to Phineas Gage who is commonly known for being one of the most recognised patients in neuroscience as a result of his traumatic accident. His case had a great influence on Psychology and early neurology because his observable behaviour after the incident aided scientists in their theories of localization of brain function (Twomey, 2010). In 1848, he suffered a devastating brain injury when an explosion caused an iron rod to pierce through his left cheek and out through the top of his head, thus destroying his frontal lobe (Cherry, 2018). Imitation creates a defined link to cognitive control and illustrates mental capabilities. This is a characteristic seen in both humans and animals. For example, when a child mimmicks a certain behaviour of an adult, it can be assumed that the child is able to interpret the movement and understand that the two behaviours correspond (Zentall, 2002). It can therefore be established that Billie, the wild bottlenosed dolphin who was taken to the aquarium for medical treatment and learnt the tailwalking trick through merely observing her fellow pool mates, has neurons known as mirror neurons . This enabled a triggered mirror response to the behaviour of another. Due to the anatomical correlation linking to the brains of both humans and animals it can be said that animals have minds and similar cognitive capacties to those of humans (The Economist,

Whether it be letting society know what is going on the in the world today or something as simple as updates on current life on social media. The media s role in society not only delivers information of the world but also brings people together through common interests or general talks. In Brian Knappenberger s documentary: Nobody Speak: Trials of Free Press it is seen how media effect lives and how there is a much stronger meaning to what media stands for in society and why media needs to take its stand when it comes to people who want to devour them. Media is one of the key areas where power is exercised, reinforced, contested and very influent in the political, social, and economic fields. This statement that has been discussed in the previous lectures clearly relates to the message that comes across from Brian Knappenberger s documentary of Nobody Speak: The Trial of Free Press. Throughout the documentary, it is argued that those who have influential backgrounds, or have deep pockets are capable of buying their way out of scandals, and concealing facts and their truths in front of media. A publisher and reporter s duty to the public eye is to report and reveal the truth about the world around them without hiding anything from them. As David Folkenflik mentioned, during Hulk Hogan s case, without the backing of some wealthy billionaire, there is little of what an independent publisher [of media] can do. Media is an

  • 21. Elements Of Comedy In Merchant Of Venice The genre of William Shakespeare s most performed play has been debated for a long time: is it a comedy or a tragedy? The play has elements of both genres, but one is clearly prevalent. While the story hits upon the tragic element of despair, The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare, is a comedy because lovers are separated, characters are in disguise, and the story has a happy ending. From the very beginning of The Merchant of Venice, we see the comedic element of lovers being separated time and time again. First, Jessica and Lorenzo are not permitted to marry or see each other because of their different religions and her father s fervent hatred for Christians. Lorenzo certain, and my love indeed / For who love I so much? (2.vi.30 31). Jessica and Lorenzo and certain they are in love, despite the distance that separates them. Later, in Act 3, Bassanio must leave Portia to return to Venice where Antonio is waiting to see him one last time. And then away to Venice to your friend! / For never shall you lie by Portia s side / With an unquiet soul (3.ii.317 19). This separation between Bassanio and Portia allows the audience to connect with the irony of these young lovers struggle. These separations between lovers lead to another element of comedy costumes. Of the three women in this play, each dresses as a man once, furthering the comedic air with clever disguises. Jessica starts off the chain of costumes by dressing up as a torchbearer to flee from her father s house. Cupid himself would blush / To see me thus transformed to a boy (2.vi.39 40). Jessica s readiness to run away from her father triumphed over her embarrassment about dressing as a man. In the same way, Portia and Nerissa don the clothes of lawyers to save their husbands friend. There you shall find that Portia was the doctor / Nerissa there, her clerk (5.i.298 9). This lie s hilarity is furthered when Balthazar is praised for being smarter than most men. But the comedic elements don t stop there. Accordingly, almost every character receives happy news at the end of the play, which doesn t happen in tragedies. Antonio learns that his despair was all for naught when Portia hands over a letter. Sweet lady, you have given me life and

Over the past several years, acts of teen violencehave made both local and national news headlines. The headlines include teens that have performed mass shootings and other violent acts. In some cases, something may have triggered these young people into performing the violent acts, or perhaps, the violence was the result of longtime issues that ultimately exploded into aggressive, violent behavior. Teens may become violent when they do not have family support that they need, when they are faced with struggles at school, or when they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. When the home lacks essential needs such as emotional support the teen will not be equipped to handle life difficulties and he may resort to violence. The story is narrated through a third person perspective that accounts the lives of the characters and events occurring around them. The text is filled with intense and thought provoking scenarios that relate heavily to the main character Winston. Various snippets throughout the text create and shape the foundation that is Winston s life from beginning to present, understanding his character is fundamental as the story is built around him, his past, his personality and his every quirk. The world George Orwell has created is filled with perplexing meaning and within each paragraph of this 355 page novel an important message can be found, making it a influential and powerful book of it s time and even today. Filmmakers have been adapting novels for over a century, but how have they been able to transpose stories to the extent that the audience can recognize the novel (Desmond Hawkes, 2006). This is a question often posed when addressing the adaptation of text to screen. How can
  • 35. Gay Women And The Stereotypes Of Lesbians And Lesbians Everyone knows a woman that dresses feminine in long, flowy dresses, bright pink lipstick, and towering high heels. Personally, my usual attire is composed of a flower headband and a pastel yellow sundress. People typically expect straight women to uphold a certain feministic standard and anticipate that lesbian women appear masculine. Lesbiansare stereotyped to have short hair, wear striped flannels and boyfriend jeans, and not wear makeup. Masculine appearing women are assumed to be gay; however, there is a group of lesbian women who dress femininely. Lipstick lesbians, or LLs, are a part of the feminine lesbian community. The LGBT(lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community has built up recently and an abundance of stereotypes as well. Contrary to popular belief, lesbians are not bound to one appearance. We as humans should have the opportunity to express ourselves in whichever way we desire. Similar to everyone else, lesbians appearances do not have to be strictly based off of who they are attracted to. Lipstick lesbians positively influence lesbian stereotypes because they defy masculine appearance and are unafraid to express themselves. By recognizing that lesbians who dress femininely are still lesbians, individuals can avoid awkward and uncomfortable situations by being respectful and acknowledging their boundaries. Lipstick lesbians commonly dress in a feminine fashion, are polite and gentle people, and are not afraid to fight back against rude people. LLs

While the benefits of and motivations for choosing honesty in life are many including that truthfulness and honesty are integral to one s sense of moral integrity living a life of honesty ultimately means having little to regret. Living with honesty is less about persistently resorting to truth over deception, and is more about living your life in a way that is honest to who you are on the inside your strengths, your gifts, and your passions, as well as your beliefs and morals. In many situations it is a good idea to keep quiet or, better still, be diplomatic and tactfully handle sensitive issues. The line dividing honesty and diplomacy is a thin one. We have to be careful in deciding when to be honest and when to be at our diplomatic best. We also have to decide whether we should be absolutely candid, or use the truth as a matter of convenience. Wars are won by words not weapons. For centuries people have tried to solve their problems by negotiation. To escape conflicts and wars they have used words to persuade their opponents. That is where diplomacy begins. Diplomacy is an intellectual activity and decision making derived from ongoing analysis of current situations. Diplomacy includes the combination of ways and abilities which any state can use for its worthy existence in the world and for establishing cooperation with other members of international community. In modern day and age, one has to practice diplomacy as it is essential to get one s way in a world that is highly competitive. What you say matters a lot. • 40. Women Of Hamlet By William Shakespeare Women of Hamlet Women are a very important part of this world although they are sometimes not portrayed that way. One would think they would be seen as significant because of the fact that women make up almost half of the world s population. Throughout all of history, females have been considered the weaker sex. In the play, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, women are portrayed as weak minded and unfaithful. The inability to correctly make important life decisions, a weakened mental state, and complete obedience to men all contribute to this point. First, women are shown unable to make to make decisions; even simple choices, if made against a man s advice, turn into chaos. At the conclusion of the play, Hamlet, Gertrude makes a choice that goes against what her husband wants: QUEEN. The Queen carouses to thy fortune, Hamlet. HAMLET. Good madam! KING. Gertrude, do not drink. QUEEN. I will, my lord; I pray you pardon me. (5.2.262 64) Soon after this exchange of words, the Queen falls ill to the poisoned drink and dies. The only time she ever makes a choice for herself, she dies because of it. This adds evidence by showing she is not able to make a correct decision. Ophelia dies earlier on in the play of suspected suicide. She drowns after going insane over her father s death, while her brother is left perfectly sane. Laertes may want revenge, but his wits are in good shape. Left without her father to make every single choice for

Ammons was interested in the sciences but also held a love for literature. He liked to involve nature in his work. Easter Morning is very abstract, has tropes that further the images presented, and is not confined to form. The perception of human ambiguities and abstract possibilities in homely bits of nature may have originated in Robert Frost. • 42. The Legal Drinking Age Should Be Legal Essay People drink liquor for various reasons; anxiety, celebration, insomnia etc. Teenagers fall under the category of people . The legal drinking age presently is twenty one in the United States Of America. I can guarantee you that the underage drinking age rate would drop if the age were brought down. One of the reasons behind drinking is enjoyment but the primary purpose behind underage drinking is breaking the law . The law says an eighteen year old is mature enough to make his /her life decisions, yet not ready to drink liquor. In the United Statesthere are different rules for various ages, however when a person turns 18 they tend to move out of their parents and start to begin their own life with their friends. Eighteen year olds have the privilege to vote, get married, and serve in the military, and those even younger than eighteen can drive and become parents. Therefore, it appears to be odd and contradictory for them to not be able to purchase alcohol. We as a whole know why teenagers usually drink. Simply the vibe that they get of breaking the law is huge. Being rebellious and not following the principles is an essential part of a teenager. Regardless of the fact that it is illegal for teens to purchase alcoholic beverages, they are still able to get it through their parent s cupboards, or from their senior friends who purchase it for them. We as a whole observe, that is not hard for teens to get liquor. Why not bring down the drinking age then?

Here we posed provoking questions that make one think on the issues that are relevant to living things. Here we are shown what one side is like and excusable for a fetus while depicting the other side of the same procedures that are used on living born human beings and become punishable by a court of law. There are six different ways to perform these surgical procedures mentioned for abortion that are legal in the United States today: dilation curettage, dilation evacuation, intra cardiac injection, saline injection, prostaglandin,

In another scene where Tituba is accused of witchcraft, Reverend Parris only threatens to whip Tituba to death in the play, while in the movie he actually does whip her until she confesses to practicing witchcraft. The final character change in the movie would be that Abigail proves she falsely accused people of witchcraft because she loved John Proctor, unlike in the play where she shows she commits all this chaos due to lust. A way to reduce this occurrence can be by placing thirty seven degree celsius stabilized water in between the probe and the animal.3 Although this happened in a rat, we have to take precautions for pregnant women. We need to be able to monitor the thermal and mechanical indexes below one and have shorter exposure times to about thirty minutes or less.3 The ultrasound waves can produce heat to the tissues to some extent, that is why you do not want to over expose. Also, the ultrasound equipment should be handled by a professional ultrasound technologist. According to the Radiologic Society of North America in their article 3D and 4D Fetal Ultrasound Advances Spark Research, Create Challenges , there are gatherings for expectant parents called ultrasound parties , which are very similar to keepsake images/videos that are done without medical indication.7 Ultrasound parties include the technologist coming to the expectant parents house to show the fetal movements to all their guests. Oxidative Stress Research Paper Oxidative stress and strokes In the pathogenesis of acute ischemic stroke low molecular antioxidants are absorbed in the reaction with free radicals generated during oxidative stress. The endogenous catalytic system comprises a number of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase. Among these, the first line of defense is the catalase, which decomposes hydrogen peroxide, since its accumulation can lead to the formation of free radicals (12, 13). Oxidative stress culminates due to the imbalance between pro oxidants and antioxidants and consecutive excessive production of reactive oxygen species. Reactive oxygen species are biphasic, taking part in normal physiological processes, but are also involved in a number of disease processes, which mediate damage to cell structures, including lipid membranes, proteins and DNA. Cerebral circulatory system is the main objective of oxidative stress, because it plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of ischemic brain damage as a result of a cerebrovascular attack.
