Renewable Energy

Renewable energy, will
    it power you?
History/Timeline
• 200 B.C.- Europeans use water to power mills.
• 10th century- Windmills built in Persia to grind
  grain and pump water.
• 1590’s- Dutch build windmills for multiple uses.
• 1850’s- Windmill becomes popular water
pumping tool of western homesteader and
  railroad builders.
• 1860-First solar power to generate electricity.
• Dec. 20 1951- First nuclear power reacto to
  generate.
• And Much More…..
Overview
• We are running out of resources and the
only way get more is to re-use them. That
is where renewable energy comes in and
saves the day. Other sources of energy
are polluting, expensive, and is making the
United States to dependent on other
countries for the energy we are using.
Personal Connection
• This is connecting to me personally
because they are putting up wind-turbine
in Riverton. That is where I hunt and try to
  shoot big bucks.
L ocation
• The 3 largest locations of renewable energy are
  listed below.
     • 100 miles west of Dallas-47,000 acres, the largest
       wind-farm on the planet.
     • Skegness, England – Largest offshore wind-farm.
     • Bretagne, France- Largest Rance Tidal Barrage.
Worst Affected Areas
• United States- Highest ranked in onshore
  wind, solar, and biomass. #1
• Germany- #2 in wind, solar, and biomass.
Solutions
• NIMBY- Not In My Backyard, they are
people that don’t want any renewable
  energy sources in their backyard.

We also could become completely
 dependent on renewable energy.
Aid O rganizations
• NREL- Only federal laboratory dedicated
  to research, development,
  commercialization, and deployment.
F i nanci al I mpact
• $28.1 billion- Wind converters
• $23,703,882- Towers
• $152,928,268- Total equipment costs
• That is just a little bit of the costs for one
    wind-turbine.
Human Impact
• The human impact is very good because
there is no pollution to the soil, air, or
  water.
