This document summarizes Laoshi.io, a platform that provides tools to help students and teachers learn Mandarin Chinese more efficiently. It addresses problems with current methods of learning like not studying words before lessons. The platform offers value to both students and teachers by reducing preparation time and helping students learn words. It has over 3,700 students learning with 290 teachers who have a 40% 5-month retention rate. Competitors include Duolingo and Skritter but Laoshi has advantages like its community and teacher analytics tools. The founders have Chinese language experience and are seeking $600k in funding to release a stable version and become profitable for growth.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
Innovation is defined as a new idea, device, or method. It involves introducing something new that is more effective than what is already available. There are three main types of innovation: operational, which improves existing processes; tactical, which introduces new products or services; and strategic, which disrupts existing markets to create new ones. Strategic innovation does not follow existing market rules and takes advantage of weaknesses in the market to differentiate itself. It connects users rather than owning them and relies on users to generate value in order to create new markets and new types of users. For a company to survive disruption, it may need to disrupt itself through strategic innovation.
This document discusses creativity and innovation. It defines creativity as the generation of new ideas or concepts, while defining innovation as the application of creative ideas. It then discusses different types of innovation including operational, management, product/service, and strategic innovation. The document also covers innovation strategies such as inventive, adaptive, economic, and innovative application strategies. Overall, the document provides an overview of creativity, innovation, and how innovation strategies can be applied.

Uber is a transportation and delivery company that allows users to request cab services through a mobile app. It has disrupted the taxi industry by offering lower prices, making it popular especially with younger users who are comfortable with technology. The app has made Uber a cheaper and more convenient option than traditional cabs. This has led to financial struggles for taxi companies and the bankruptcy of Yellow Cab in San Francisco due to Uber's competition. Uber exemplifies a disruptive innovation against the taxi industry.
Relink - Transforming the way people are matched with jobsRelink
Relink is developing a recommendation engine to transform how people are matched with jobs. Their solution uses machine learning to analyze job descriptions and candidate profiles to provide recommended matches. As a data-first company, they focus on gathering large amounts of data and applying machine learning models at scale. Their goal is to use these recommendation capabilities to potentially reinvent the entire experience of finding jobs or colleagues.
This document provides a template and guidance for creating an effective pitch deck to present to angel or pre-seed investors. It recommends telling a compelling story about the problem being solved, the solution, and go-to-market strategy in 10 slides or less. Key elements include clearly outlining the problem and impacted market, demonstrating the minimum viable product, describing the team's experience and qualifications, and requesting specific support from investors such as advice, contacts, or funding. Presentation tips emphasize delivering the pitch passionately and keeping the visuals simple.
The document discusses various aspects of innovation frameworks including:
- Innovation means creating new ways to solve problems and meet needs, not just inventing but applying ideas. Organizations must innovate or fail to adapt.
- Knowledge and experiences are important drivers of innovation. Individual and organizational cultures that nurture innovation can help sustain it.
- There are debates around whether innovation teams or individual "fiefdoms" are better. Innovation processes can be structured but also allow for democracy and user input.
- Users are a significant source of innovation as they identify problems and devise solutions from direct experiences. Manufacturers may not envision issues that users identify and solve on their own.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
DNX GLOBAL Talk ★ Till H. Gross - Comfort Zone Crushing: How to become more c...DNX
This document discusses various therapeutic techniques for managing fear and expanding one's comfort zone, including exposure therapy, desensitization, and comfort zone challenges. It notes that values and goals should guide one's life more than emotions. Techniques involve gradually facing fears through exposure over time to reduce anxiety responses rather than avoiding uncomfortable situations and emotions. The goal is to build a richer behavioral repertoire and engaged life beyond what one is comfortable with.
This document provides an introduction to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). It discusses the principles and core processes of ACT including experiential avoidance, cognitive fusion, lack of contact with the present moment, inflexible sense of self, lack of values clarity, and lack of committed action. It provides examples of how ACT can help clients like Sue who struggles with depression, rumination, and suicidal thoughts. The document explains how ACT aims to increase psychological flexibility and build a more meaningful and fulfilling life through its six core therapeutic processes: acceptance, defusion, present moment awareness, self as observer, values clarification, and committed action.
Values in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)J. Ryan Fuller
Clarifying our values is critical if we are to chart a course for a meaningful and satisfying life. This presentation is part of a graduate course taught at NYU.

Using Mindfulness & Acceptance Based Therapy for Treating BEDMichael Puhala
The document discusses using acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to treat binge eating disorder (BED). ACT differs from traditional cognitive behavioral therapy by not trying to change thoughts and feelings, but rather accepting them. It uses mindfulness and metaphors to target experiential avoidance. BED is characterized by recurrent binge eating episodes where a person feels lack of control over eating. Triggers for binges include emotions and unstructured time. ACT can help people commit to values-based actions and accept unpleasant private experiences. Research studies show promise for using ACT to address obesity and BED.
This document provides an overview of a session on combining the biopsychosocial and CBT models in practice. It begins with welcoming the participants and providing information on Division 38 of the APA and its website. It then outlines two case studies, one on a patient with heart failure and another with generalized anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome. The document discusses the biopsychosocial model and how CBT can integrate factors from this model. It provides objectives for the session and discusses caveats before concluding with introductions of the presenters.
This document provides an overview of cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic pain (CBT-CP). It discusses the core targets of CBT-CP which include exercise, pacing, relaxation training, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, function and values, and sleep and diet. It also covers psychological factors like cognitions, catastrophizing, suffering vs. pain, hurt vs. harm, negative affect, answer-seeking, and pain self-efficacy. Behavioral factors like passive coping, resting/inactivity, exercise, and over activity are examined. The document provides guidance on pacing and relaxation training. It also touches on social factors patients with chronic pain may face and provides a case conceptualization example.

As research into the applications of mindfulness progresses, both in the medical field for problems like pain and chronic illness management, and in the mental health field through therapies such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy continue to increase the empirical support for the efficacy of this approach in a variety of conditions, it behooves us to learn more about this and apply it in our own lives and practices.

Description
Developed within a coherent theoretical and philosophical framework, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a unique, empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with value driven commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. ACT uses three broad categories of techniques: mindfulness, including being present in the moment and defusion techniques; acceptance; and commitment to values-based living. Participants in this seminar will learn mindfulness as a way of observing ones experience, in the present moment, without judgment and “defuse,” or distancing oneself from unhelpful thoughts, reactions and sensations. Aside from a didactic approach, there will be video examples, and skill practice. Audience participation is highly encouraged.

1. Acceptance and
Commitment therapy
http://www.associationcbt.ru
Hayes et. al., 2004
Wilson & Murrell, 2005
(Hayes, Wilson, Gifford, Follette, & Strosahl, 1996).
Ценности - это про жизнь, наполненную выбранными смыслами;
