Educational Podcasting - a learner-centred, collaborative opportunityAndrew Middleton
This presentation comes from the elearning 2.0 conference at Brunel, UK, 6-7 July 2009.
It argues for a reconsideration of what educational podcasting can be referring to McLuhan, and Johanssen in proposing that audio provides a good fit for a Web 2.0, authentic and active medium for 21st centiry learning
This document discusses various methods for teaching English as a foreign language. It outlines the Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method, Audiolingual Method, Total Physical Response, Suggestopedia Method, Silent Way Method, and Community Language Learning. For each method, it lists advantages and disadvantages. The methods range from an emphasis on grammar rules and translation to a focus on communication, using physical movement, lowering anxiety, and student-centered learning.
This document from Vecpiebalga Secondary School in Latvia discusses placing learners at the heart of the learning process by meeting their individual needs, interests, and learning styles. It advocates answering three questions - what the learner wants to learn about, how they learn best based on their abilities and style, and why the topic is relevant to them. The school emphasizes learning in a fun, colorful way with empathy, relevance, and allowing students to find themselves in the material. It lists various student-centered activities and assessments used, including projects, discussions, debates, quizzes, presentations, role plays, and portfolios.

The document discusses learner-centered process reviews at Cambridge Regional College. It provides examples of how the college consulted with learners to improve various processes based on their feedback. This included revising English and maths provision, setting up early enrollment sessions, updating the smoking policy based on a student survey, and making other changes to the cash machine policy, coffee offerings, closure processes, and environmental practices based on learner input. The document emphasizes the importance of efficiently reviewing processes, gaining customer perspectives, using tools like flowcharts, and building internal expertise in process improvement.
This document provides notes on student-centered teaching and learning. It discusses that student-centered learning aims to increase student activity, choice, and power in the learning process. While there is a continuum between teacher-centered and student-centered approaches, effective teachers incorporate elements of both as appropriate. The document also reviews various teaching methods and where they fall on the continuum, influential theorists in student-centered learning like Dewey, Piaget, Bruner, Freire, Vygotsky, and challenges like defining student-centered learning and evaluating its effectiveness.

This document discusses adopting a learner-centred approach to teaching calculus. It outlines the history of calculus and its key concepts of differentiation and integration. It emphasizes that in a learner-centred approach, the teacher's role shifts from being an information feeder to a facilitator who focuses on what and how the learner is learning. The teacher should use various teaching methods like visual aids and group work to engage students actively in learning calculus concepts.

This document provides information about adjectives, comparative adjectives, and superlative adjectives in English. It defines what adjectives are and provides examples of one, two, and three syllable adjectives. It explains how to form comparative adjectives by adding "-er" or "-more" and irregular forms. It also explains how to form superlative adjectives by adding "-est" or using "the most" and lists irregular forms. Examples are given to demonstrate comparative and superlative forms.
The document shows adjectives in their positive, comparative, and superlative forms to demonstrate how adjectives change to compare two or more things. The adjectives are arranged vertically with the positive form on the bottom, comparative in the middle, and superlative on the top to illustrate this grammatical structure for common descriptive words like good, bad, nice, and big.
The document discusses comparative and superlative adjectives. Comparative adjectives compare two objects or people, and are formed by adding "-er" or "more" depending on the adjective. Superlative adjectives compare one object or person to a group, and are formed by adding "the -est" or "the most" depending on the adjective. There are five rules for forming comparatives and superlatives regularly, as well as irregular forms that must be memorized.
The document discusses adding -er to adjectives to make comparisons. It provides examples of adding -er to long lists of adjectives like "tall", "hot", and "kind". It then provides example sentences comparing two things using the comparative adjectives, such as "Andrew is much taller than Derek" and "The church is higher than our house".
The document discusses comparative and superlative adjectives. Comparatives are used to compare two objects, like saying "the Ford is bigger than the Toyota." Superlatives compare more than two objects, like saying "the Ford is the biggest." There are five basic rules for forming comparatives and superlatives: adding "-er" or "-est"; doubling consonants; removing "y" and adding "-ier" or "-iest"; adding "more"; and exceptions for common adjectives.
This document provides rules for forming comparative and superlative adjectives in English. It explains that one-syllable adjectives typically form the comparative with -er and the superlative with -est. Two-syllable adjectives ending in certain letters, like -y, form comparatives with -er/-iest. Adjectives with three or more syllables, or endings like -ed/-ing/-ful/-less, use 'more' and 'most'. Irregular adjectives like 'good' have unique forms. Comparatives are often used with 'than' and superlatives can be used alone or with phrases like 'in' or 'of' to specify the comparison.

Hamlet is a play written by William Shakespeare between 1599-1601. It explores Hamlet's famous soliloquy about whether it is better to endure life's struggles or take arms against a sea of troubles. The story follows Hamlet's quest to avenge his father's death at the hands of his uncle, who marries Hamlet's mother.
The document appears to be notes from an English language lesson. It includes vocabulary words, sentences to match with pictures, and prompts for activities like making stories from pictures and sentences. Warmup exercises are mentioned along with resources from websites like Wikipedia and YouTube.

კლასგარეშე სწავლების პროცესში მოსწავლეებზე ყოველმხრივი ხელშეწყობა;
2. სხვადასხვა წყაროებიდან ინფორმაციის მიღება, მისი დამუშავება და რეალურ
სიტუაციებში მოსწავლეებზე მიწოდება;
3. მოსწავლეების შემეცნებითი უნარის განვითარება;
4. თითოეულ მოსწავლეზე შემოქმედებითი განვითარების ხელშეწყობა.
სწავლის მეთოდები:
1. განმარტებით-ილუსტრირებული;
2. ნაწილობრივ-საძიებო;
3. პრობლემური;
4. კვლევითი.

2. გამოყენებული ხერხები:
ახსნა-განმარტება პრეზენტაციის გამოყენებით;
ახსნა-განმარტება ვიდეოფრაგმენტების გამოყენებით;
პრობლემის გადაწყვეტის გზების ძიება;
ნებისმიერი მოვლენის, ობიექტის კვლევა;
პროგნოზირება.
თანამედროვე ტექნოლოგიების ეფექტური გამოყენება:
- ახალი მასალის ახსნისას;
- შესწავლილი მასალის გამეორებისას;
ტაბულები, ტესტები, შედარების სქემები და მრავალი სხვა);
- მუსიკალური კომპოზიციების გამოყენება ან სიმღერის სწავლისას კლიპების
მოსმენა. (მაგალითად, ჩაიკოვსკის „წელიწადის დროები“);
- ვიდეოფილმების ჩვენება;
- მხატვრული ფილმების ჩვენება. (მაგ.: «Повесть о настоящем человеке»);

«Страны, в которых мы живём»; იღებენ ფილმებს ( «В супермаркете», «Наш город»);
მუშაობის პროცესში დავრწმუნდი, რომ მოსწავლეებზე ინტერნეტის
გამოყენებით დავალების მიცემისას:
- წერილობით უნდა შევთავაზო სანდო საიტები;
- მოვახდინო ფოკუსირება ამოცანის სირთულეზე, გავაფრთხილო ქსელში
მუშაობისას შემხვედრ მოულოდნელ სიურპრიზებზე:
- დავალების შესრულებისთვის მივცე საკმარისი დრო;
- გავაცნო მუშაობის შეფასების კრიტერიუმები;
