2. Cnidaria - Κνιδόζωα
Knidozoa (latin : Cnidaria) took their name from the
ancient greek word “Knidos” that means nettle, because
of their ability to sting . In English they are called
Cnidaria. Cnidaria are divided into five classes: a)
Anthozoa , such as sea anemones , corals and sea
feathers , b) Skyfozoa like jellyfish , c) Staurozoa like
stalked jellyfish, d) Cubozoa, like cuboid jellyfish and e)
hydrazoic , a group which includes cnidariaof freshwater .
3. Where do they live?
Most of the Cnidaria live in the sea. But there
freshwater Cnidaria too, living in lakes and
rivers. Many Cnidaria live at great depths .
4. What do they eat
Most Cnidarias feed on smaller organisms, such
as plankton and sometimes with a little
bigger.
