2. What Are Cnidarians?
A Cnidarian is a
soft-bodied animal
with stinging cells.
Cnidarians are the
simplest animals to
have body
symmetry and
specialized tissues.
3. Body Plan
Most cnidarians has 2 different looking cycles of
life:
Polyp Medusa
4. Feeding
Cnidarians pull their
prey into their gastro-
vascular cavitys.
The gastrovascular
cavity is a digestive
chamber with one
opening.
Digestion takes place
outside the cells!
5. Groups of Cnidarians
Cnidarians include jellyfish, hydras, sea
anemones and corals.
All Cnidarians move differently, but they all
have hydrostatic skeletons. It allows the
muscles to move together so the cnidarians
can glide through water.
