The survey responses indicated that the target audience for the music video is mainly male aged 17-24. Most respondents listened to punk-pop music and correctly identified the genre of the music video as punk-pop. All agreed the video could air on the TV channel Kerrang as it was a conventional punk-pop video that viewers enjoyed for its included narrative.
Michael Gondry is a French filmmaker known for directing unconventionally edited music videos that depict a dream-like reality, including videos for bands like Foo Fighters, The White Stripes, and The Rolling Stones. While starting his career with music videos, he is now also a film director. His diverse visual style and focus on experimental filming and editing techniques have led some to consider him a video auteur.

The document provides an evaluation of a music video created by the author. It summarizes the key elements of the music video including the representation of the artists as typical teenagers in the pop-punk genre, the garage setting for the band performance, costumes chosen by performers to look natural, fast editing and camerawork during the performance, and a narrative that follows the song's lyrics about a breakup. The genre is identified as punk-pop based on the garage setting and instruments played, and characters are introduced through the narrative rather than individually.
The document discusses several theories and how they relate to the music video for Green Day's "Jesus of Suburbia":
1) Todorov's narrative theory of equilibrium, disruption, recognition, attempt to repair, and return to equilibrium fits the narrative structure of the video.
2) Laura Mulvey's male gaze theory applies as the female characters are presented as objects for the male protagonist.
3) Levi-Strauss' theory of binary opposition is seen as the video shows conflict between the protagonist and his ex-girlfriend and mother.
4) Stereotypes of punks as rebellious, disruptive outsiders are portrayed, challenging norms of society.

The student used a variety of new media formats to create their final products, including online platforms like Slideshare and Wix, programs like iTunes and iMovie, and equipment like a camera and tripod. Photoshop was used to edit photos for packaging and advertising materials. Wix was used to build a website to share research, planning, and final work. iMovie helped edit footage from the camera and tripod that was used to film a music video performance and narrative.
The document discusses several theories that can be applied to analyze the music video for Green Day's "Jesus of Suburbia", including:
1) Genre conventions and how punk rock is portrayed differently than in past videos.
2) Todorov's narrative theory which fits the story structure of the video.
3) Mulvey's male gaze theory and how females are portrayed for the male audience.
4) Binary opposition theory and the conflicts shown in the video.
5) Representation of stereotypes about modern punks.
The document provides an evaluation of a music video created by the author. It summarizes the key elements of the video including the representation of the artists as part of the pop-punk genre, the garage setting to portray an authentic punk scene, the casual costumes to seem natural, the editing and camerawork to keep the audience engaged, the 50% performance section showing the band playing along to the song, and how the narrative follows the lyrics to relate to the audience. It also discusses how the genre of punk-pop is suggested through the setting and instruments played.

Michel Gondry is a French film director known for his unconventional and creative style in directing music videos. His videos are often set in both the real world and a dream-like world created by Gondry. Though he works across genres, Gondry's videos are consistently unique in their unrealistic elements and emphasis on visuals over narrative. Examples like his video for "Everlong" contrast black and white reality with colorful dreams. While maintaining real-world settings, Gondry adds surreal elements that reflect the dream-like qualities of the artist's work.

At AS, the student created a new horror film opening using generic conventions of the genre to communicate a narrative to the audience. At A2, they created an original music video and used conventions of the pop-punk genre to communicate ideologies through song, performance, and lyrics. They also created promotional materials like a digi-pak and ads that were original. According to the student, their set briefs allowed creativity with few restraints, and they expanded on genres conventions rather than rejecting them to avoid confusing audiences. Digital technology helped with shooting and editing but some aspects like creating a narrative did not require technology.
Piyush Kumar gave a seminar on build operate and transfer (BOT) projects. In a BOT project, a private entity builds infrastructure, operates it, and then transfers it to the public sector after a certain time period. For coordinate BOT projects, the private entity builds and staffs a facility, establishes operating guidelines, manages the offshore organization, and then helps transfer the team and operations to a new subsidiary of the customer. BOT projects provide infrastructure development with no upfront investment for the customer and involve various political, technical, financing, traffic, currency, and other risks that must be considered. Piyush discussed examples of BOT projects in the highway and railway sectors in India.
Water distribution planning in urban areaPiyush Verma
This PowerPoint presentation discusses water distribution planning in urban areas, focusing on Bangalore, India. It summarizes that (1) water is an essential resource but many regions lack sufficient access to quality water, (2) piped water in Indian cities is intermittent and unequal, and (3) major challenges include population growth, aging infrastructure, and increased pollution. The presentation then provides specific data on water supplies and infrastructure capacity in Bangalore.
The document discusses pile foundations and their design. It describes different types of piles including end bearing piles, friction piles, displacement piles, and replacement piles. It covers topics such as pile capacity calculation considering end bearing and skin friction, methods of installation, failure modes, total and effective stress analysis, and prediction of pile capacity through pile driving formulas and load testing.
