SUMMARY
For the purpose of our assignment, we conducted a research exercise
on ‘Food Habits of Students of XUB’
Food is one of the primary drivers in a student or a professional life.
Your food choices each day affect your health — how you feel today,
tomorrow, and in the future.
Good nutrition Combined with physical activity, diet can help one
reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce risk of chronic diseases
and promote overall health.
Because of unpredictable schedules in the campus, consumption
patterns of students is taking toll on their health and lifestyle.
Limited food options available in the campus; taste and preference of
the students is very polarized and limited to the whatever few options
that are available.
• To find out the causes and its effects of the food
price, quality and the food habits of XUB resident
students and how this is affecting their daily
lifestyle
Rational of
proposed
research
• Study the cause-effect relationship of food habits
of XUB resident students and to analyse how this
affect their lifestyle
Objective
• So far, there has been no similar exercise done on
the subject
• we do intend to achieve our objective by doing a
cross sectional study on a stratified random sample
Literature
Review
METHODOLOGY
SURVEY : We carried out an offline survey where we interviewed
students in the XUB Campus and all streams were involved. A set of
10 questions were asked to be rated according to the likert scale
SAMPLING : We took a stratified sample of 30 respondents
representing the various schools of XUB in a proportionate fashion
DATA COLLECTION METHOD : We used questionnaires to collect data
responses from the sample we identified.
INSTRUMENTS FOR DATA COLLECTION : Physical Stationeries and
Excel input were used for collecting data.
DATA COLLATION/PROCESSING PLAN : The data was collated and
coded on MS Excel and processing using a powerful processing tool
by the name of IBM SPSS 22 Statistics.
