This document discusses several types of specialty concretes including light weight concrete, self-compacting concrete, and fiber reinforced concrete. Light weight concrete has a lower density than ordinary concrete between 300-1900 kg/m3 due to the use of porous aggregates, which reduces the dead load of structures. Self-compacting concrete is highly fluid and can flow and consolidate under its own weight without vibration or compaction, allowing it to fill formwork fully even with dense reinforcement. Fiber reinforced concrete includes discrete fibers added to concrete mixtures to control cracking and increase toughness.
