Calibration of A Five-Hole Probe in Null and Non-Null Technique IJERA Editor
The analysis of fluid flow is encountered in almost all engineering applications. Flow measurements,
particularly velocity and its direction, turbulence quantities are needed in order to improve the understanding of
various complex flow phenomena and to validate and further refine the computer flow models. Pressure probes
find wide application in the measurement of fluid flows both in the laboratory and in the industry. A five-hole
pressure probe is calibrated in both null and non-null technique. An algorithm for five-hole probe in non-null
method is developed which utilizes a database of calibration data and a local least-squares interpolation
technique is used for interpolation of flow properties. It is also found out that the non-null method was superior
in ease of use and prediction of flow measurement variables than the null method.

Twitter has launched a Geotagging API – we really wanted to enable users to not only talk about “What’s happening?” but also “What’s happening right here?” For a while now, we’ve been watching as users have been trying to geo-tag their tweets through a variety of methods, all of which involve a link to a map service embedded in their Tweet. This talk will delve into how Twitter handles their geocontent including tool suggestions.
As a platform, we’ve tried to make it easier for our users by making location be omnipresent through our platform, and an inherent (but optional) part of a tweet. We’re making the platform be not just about time, but also about place.

GeoScript - Spatial Capabilities for Scripting LanguagesJustin Deoliveira
GeoScript adds spatial capabilities to dynamic scripting languages. With implementations in Python, JavaScript, Scala, and Groovy, GeoScript provides an interface to the powerful geospatial data access, processing and rendering functionality of the GeoTools library.
GeoScript provides concise and simple apis that allow developers to perform a variety of tasks quickly. Some include:
Geoprocessing - Coordinate reference system transforms, geometry operations, and feature queries.
Data Juggling - GeoScript allows you to read and write feature data in a variety of formats. Converting Shapefiles to PostGIS tables, and processing on the fly while converting formats.
Mapping Services - Using a simple web framework in conjunction with GeoScript, it is possible to write custom geospatial services quickly and easily like a simple WMS or WFS implementation.
GeoScript is a new project but is growing in the number of users and contributors. Come check this talk out if you are interested in learning about a new tool to add to your geospatial hacking toolbox. Maybe you have tried to use GeoTools but find it too difficult and complex to use. Or perhaps your java skills are not where you would like them to be. If that is the case this talk, and GeoScript, might be just what you are looking for.
Location Analytics Real-Time Geofencing using KafkaGuido Schmutz
An important underlying concept behind location-based applications is called geofencing. Geofencing is a process that allows acting on users and/or devices who enter/exit a specific geographical area, known as a geo-fence. A geo-fence can be dynamically generated—as in a radius around a point location, or a geo-fence can be a predefined set of boundaries (such as secured areas, buildings, boarders of counties, states or countries).
Geofencing lays the foundation for realizing use cases around fleet monitoring, asset tracking, phone tracking across cell sites, connected manufacturing, ride-sharing solutions and many others.
GPS tracking tells constantly and in real time where a device is located and forms the stream of events which needs to be analyzed against the much more static set of geo-fences. Many of the use cases mentioned above require low-latency actions taken place, if either a device enters or leaves a geo-fence or when it is approaching such a geo-fence. That’s where streaming data ingestion and streaming analytics and therefore the Kafka ecosystem comes into play.
This session will present how location analytics applications can be implemented using Kafka and KSQL & Kafka Streams. It highlights the exiting features available out-of-the-box and then shows how easy it is to extend it by custom defined functions (UDFs). The design of such solution so that it can scale with both an increasing amount of position events as well as geo-fences will be discussed as well.

Leaflet is an open source JavaScript library used to build web mapping applications. Capital MetroRail is a hybrid rail system that serves the Greater Austin area. In this talk we'll use Leaflet JS to show the 32-mile route of Capital MetroRail, where it's stops are and we'll use Leaftlet JS to provide real time tracking of the all the active rail cars on the network. We'll then use Leaflet JS to show the full 154-miles of train track that that Capital Metro owns (despite not operating trains on all of it), the counties that those 154-miles of track run through and what the route looked like in the 1950's as captured by Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps.
Our journey will take us from client-side Javascript and server-side PHP to the CLI and the database.
Scalable and Adaptive Graph Querying with MapReduceKyong-Ha Lee
We address the problem of processing multiple graph queries over a massive set of data graphs in this letter. As the number of data graphs is growing rapidly, it is often hard to process graph queries with serial algorithms in a timely manner. We propose a distributed graph querying algorithm, which employs feature-based comparison and a filterand-verify scheme working on the MapReduce framework. Moreover, we devise an ecient scheme that adaptively tunes a proper feature size at runtime by sampling data graphs. With various experiments, we show that the proposed method outperforms conventional algorithms in terms of both scalability and efficiency.
Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.
