ZMS
             Zeros Must Stop
• Zeros dramatically impact student success.
• Zeros are closely correlated with student
  failure.
• Zeros afford students the opportunity to
  opt out of critical learning.
How does ZMS work?
When a student fails to turn in a homework
 assignment:

1. The teacher will have the student write down the
missing assignment on a sheet of paper.

2. The student will complete and attach the ZMS
Student Assignment Slip to the assignment.
How does ZMS work?
3. The teacher will give the student a ZMS
Pass and have the student write his/her
name and the date on the pass.

4. Two minutes before their lunch begins, the
student will show their ZMS pass to the
teacher and report to the cafeteria to pick
   up their lunch.
How does ZMS work?
5. Student reports immediately the ZMS Classroom,
     showing the teacher his/her pass:
        6th Grade – Hunter, Rm. 149
        7th Grade – Hargraves, Rm. 346
        8th Grade – Schubert, Rm. 125

6. Student completes assignment and turns work in to ZMS
     Teacher.

*Work will be returned to assigning teacher with a 20% grade reduction,
                                for being late.
