Cal Tyner chose to create a demo dubstep album for his senior project. He was interested in dubstep's progression from its origins to becoming mainstream in commercials. Creating the album required extensive research into dubstep's history and production techniques using the Ableton software program. The process of producing the 28 minute album involved laying down drum and bass tracks, adding other sound tracks, "dubbing" or chopping up tracks, and adding effects. While there were challenges like acquiring the expensive Ableton program, Tyner enjoyed the process and felt proud of his completed album. He discovered his true passion is creating dubstep music.
The document discusses editing together separately recorded voice overs to create a natural sounding conversation for an advertisement. Background music was also added from YouTube, using only a 7 second clip to avoid copyright infringement. The original upload was too loud so the sound was lowered to make the audio more clear.
The document discusses the various media technologies used at different stages of creating a music video project. It describes researching music videos on YouTube to gain inspiration, analyzing videos to understand cinematography techniques, and being inspired by Green Day's older videos that featured the band performing in a room. iMacs and their video editing software were used to precisely time clips and sync the video to the music. How did you use new media technologies in musicvideoshockwaves94
New media technologies were used extensively in the production and evaluation of a music video. Research was conducted online to learn about songs, genres, lyrics and posters. Digital cameras and iPods were used to film and keep time during shooting. Adobe Premier was used to edit the video and add effects like split screens. YouTube was utilized to share the finished video, which received 50 views in the first 3 days and positive feedback from likes and shares on social media.
The student created an audio experiment by recording a story and adding relevant sound effects from an online database. They imported the audio and sound effects into editing software and carefully placed the sounds to correspond with the dialogue. However, this process was time consuming as some sounds needed to be precisely edited to match the timing and not continue over irrelevant parts. The student plans to improve on their experiment by precisely editing each audio clip in their final product so all sounds can be clearly heard even when layered, cropping sound clips to match the timing, and including an introduction to set the scene.
Sally McManus used various media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation of her project. She used an SLR camera to film shots for her music video, Photoshop to edit images and design ancillary products, and Premiere to edit the video. YouTube was used to search for and select a song, which was then converted to an mp3 file for use in the video. While iPhones were also used to film initial shots, the quality was lower than the SLR, so those shots were refilmed. Technological convergence made researching ideas for the project easier by allowing comparisons to other music videos and packaging designs online.
The document summarizes the production process for a podcast. It describes importing the script audio and music, editing parts where speech was unclear, looping the background music, and adding sound effects. Specifically, sections of audio were edited together, music volume was adjusted, and sound effects were placed where there were pauses in speech or to transition between topics. The overall goal was to make the audio clear, fluent and engaging for the audience.
The document summarizes the editing process for a music video. The editor imported raw footage from three shoots and an audio file of the song into Adobe Premiere Pro. They originally planned to use the official music video introduction but had to change plans due to issues with the audio. The editor then split up the audio file, removed parts, and matched up other soundtracks and videos. They also muted and toggled video output at times to better sync up lip movements and actions.
The document discusses the use of various media technologies in creating a music video project. YouTube and Google were used extensively for research, allowing the viewing of music videos and images to analyze conventions. Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects were the primary editing software used to cut clips, add effects, and merge the final video. Some challenges included incompatible file versions between home and school computers, and long export/import times. Overall, most of the technologies were deemed successful in completing the project, though a professional camera may have further improved quality.
Daniel Thompson conducted experiments to collect sound effects from freesound.org and record a voiceover using his phone to later edit together in Audacity. He converted audio formats and used tools like cutting and fading to edit the voiceover and add sound effects between parts. Finally, he exported the edited file as an MP3 to submit as his final product.
The document discusses the process of creating a music video and digipack for a song. It describes using various cameras and software like Photoshop and Final Cut Express. Planning and coordination was done through social media and email. Research involved analyzing other music videos on YouTube and genres. Marketing included social media posts and surveys. Media technology helped with editing, presentations, and comparing video shots.
The document discusses the use of various media technologies in the construction and research, planning, and evaluation stages of a soap trailer project. YouTube was used for research by watching other trailers for inspiration. An YouTube account was created to upload and share the finished trailers. iMacs enabled editing of footage using iMovie, which allowed editing of video, sound, and adding a soundtrack. Music for the trailer was found on YouTube, then converted to MP3 using a ripping website so it could be downloaded and used in the project.
James-cooper created an audio production by gathering sound effects from YouTube and recording dialogue. He imported the audio files into Adobe Premier and edited them. This included cutting the files, adjusting volumes, and organizing the dialogue and sound effects into the proper sequence. James spent time cutting up each character's dialogue to remove mistakes and pauses. His final steps were fine-tuning the timing and flow of the audio by rearranging pieces and adding other recorded effects to complete his audio log.

The document discusses how various media technologies were used at different stages of creating a music video and ancillary texts. At the research stage, YouTube was used to gather inspiration from other music videos and get audience feedback via interviews edited in Final Cut Pro. Final Cut Pro and Photoshop were the primary tools used for construction, allowing editing of video/audio and design of ancillary texts. Final Cut Pro was also used for evaluation, adding voiceover, images and subtitles for clarity. Prezi was used to create an online presentation for evaluation.
Tumblr was used extensively for blogging work, research, and receiving feedback. Photos were taken on phones and uploaded to Tumblr. Prezi was used for evaluations and research presentations. A DSLR camera was used to improve the quality of footage for the focus groups and final music video. Premiere Pro was used to edit the music video and focus groups by cutting footage and adding transitions. Photoshop edited images for the digipak and advert designs. Sound Recorder captured audio commentary. The music video and additional materials were uploaded to YouTube. Google allowed access to research sources like Tumblr, Prezi, and YouTube as well as finding images.
Imogen edited an audio recording in Premiere Pro. She imported the audio file and deleted pauses and mistakes. She separated parts of the recording onto different tracks to adjust volumes as needed. Imogen then added sound effects by importing files and dragging them onto the timeline. She edited the sound effects to enhance parts of the recording about space and a spaceship. The sound effects included ambient space noises and a spaceship engine to add context without overpowering the audio.
Imogen edited an audio recording in Premiere Pro. She imported the audio file and deleted pauses and mistakes. She separated parts of the audio that had different volumes onto separate tracks so she could adjust levels individually. Then, she added sound effects by importing files and dragging them onto the timeline where appropriate. She chose space-themed sound effects like a whooshing noise and spaceship sounds to match the content about reviewing the movie Passengers.

Another discusses using The Last of Us and League of Legends as examples to illustrate dramatic elements that engage players. References and academic writing style are mentioned as challenges.
1) The document describes the process of designing a logo starting with the word "Plague" and transforming it into an image of a skull. Feedback was received that it had negative connotations.
2) The designer then changed it to "P&Q" standing for "Planetary Quarantine" by modifying the letters to look like a skull. Shadows and a background were added.
3) Additional refinement included adding tilted copies of P&Q in the center to fill out the skull shape and removing the background in PowerPoint before adding it back into Fireworks.
Process of animating company ident “Planetary Quarantine”MarianD
1) The animator opened Adobe Flash and resized the document to 1024x768 pixels to fit regular screen sizes and improve the quality of the exported file.
2) Basic layers were created and blank keyframes were inserted to plan the animation timeline and images needed.
3) A background image was faded in from black over one second using classic tweening between keyframes.
4) An outline of the images was drawn and animated with a "slash" effect over 21 frames.
This document contains a shot list for a trailer depicting the bullying and suicide of a girl named Lucy. It then shows her twin sister Jane experiencing strange events and noises in her home after Lucy's death. The shot list culminates with shots showing one of Lucy's bullies being stabbed and killed, implied to be done by Jane seeking revenge for her sister's bullying and death. The shots progress from establishing Lucy's bullying and suicide to Jane experiencing paranormal activity to shots of her killing one of the bullies who tormented Lucy.
Lucy hangs herself after being bullied at school. Her twin sister Jane then begins to hear Lucy's voice and becomes possessed by her spirit. Lucy uses Jane's body to seek revenge on those responsible for bullying her. Through Jane's body, Lucy tracks down and kills the bullies one by one. The film combines elements of supernatural horror and slasher genres as the vengeful ghost of Lucy possesses her sister to enact deadly revenge against those who caused her death.
The document pitches two ideas for films. The first is about an experimental nanobot intended for medical purposes that fails and turns people into aggressive, mindless zombies. It has infected millions and the story would follow five survivors struggling to stay alive. The second idea is about a teenage girl who turns to murder after her parents are killed by a group. She tracks down and tortures the killers one by one to avenge her parents' death. Both stories draw inspiration from popular horror genres and are aimed at teenage and young adult audiences.
The document provides the weekly schedule for the Horror Channel, including:
- Weekdays feature classic TV shows like Hercules and Doctor Who in the mornings, a movie in the late morning/early afternoon, more TV shows in the afternoons, and random horror movies late nights.
- Weekends replace the morning movies and TV shows with marathons of Hercules on Saturdays and The Incredible Hulk on Sundays, aimed at families. Movies from the previous week's schedule are shown in the afternoons and evenings.
- Late night programming every day consists of 4 random horror films between 9pm and 4:30am.
