UNIT 6: MEDIA CAMPAIGNS
The Purpose of the Campaign
 The purpose of the Some Boi Juice campaign is to promote my own custom
designed juice product of the same name. A physical version of the product has
been produced and I plan to create a TV advertisement that incorporates this
element. The campaign will hopefully spread the word of Some Boi Juice to the
target audience via not only television but also through the surprisingly effective
platforms of Social Media.
Target Audience
 The target audience of Some Boi Juice are young adults who tend to use such
terminology as that seen in the drink’s title. The product is not advised for
younger audience members due to its high concentration of sugar and other
substances. The drink will suit older adults as well as young, although the
terminology used may not resonate with them as much. However, I concluded
that there is sufficient interest from young adults towards the product that its
advertisement campaign would be a success.
Public Survey Results
 In response to the question of “How many 500ml soft drinks do you buy a week”,
41.7% said 1-2. An interesting array of responses followed the question “What
response does the name Some Boi Juice evoke in your mind” such as “Quite a
positive, upbeat feeling” and “A lot of energy, and the colours grab my attention”.
91.7% of the responses said that the product has an appealing design, whilst
83.3% enjoys similar beverages. 100% agreed that they often see advertisements
that are similar to the planned Some Boi Juice commercial, whilst 50% backed the
idea of this media format. 100% claimed that they are prepared for the product’s
release, showing that the product would be a success sales wise due to it’s
popularity amongst the public.
Evidence of Public Survey Results
The Level of Knowledge and Understanding of
the Product among the Audience.
 Due to the results of the survey, it can be seen that there is a very large
understanding of the product amongst the audience. With the majority of
participants avid to try the product themselves due to the familiar nature of the
beverage and its similarities to other popular brands of juice.
The Needs of the Target Audience
 The Target Audience require an advertisement of good quality that perhaps
includes some comedic value in order for it to stand out. The ad must be
appropriate in accordance with the target audience’s tastes and not appear
obnoxious or irritating as this could potentially turn them against the product
being advertised. The advert for Some Boi Juice would showcase all of the good
qualities of the drink in a possible comedic fashion in order to convey the unique
taste of the product to the target audience in the most adequate fashion possible.
The Existing Media Consumption Habits of
the Target Audience
 Currently, Social Media is a very effective method for advertising due to the
platforms’ popularity with the modern audience. Television still remains popular
making intercepting advertisements between shows and also the sponsoring of
programmes a well-known and effective method. These forms of advertisements
that are memorable to the audience for one reason or the other are particularly
effective in getting the desired point across in the case of a successful marketing
campaign.
Schedule and Platforms
 Some Boi Juice will be officially launched and distributed across stores on April
20th 2018. The product’s official Twitter account was created on March 5th,
allowing almost two months for the product to be promoted across the platform
in anticipation of it’s imminent release. To coincide with the product’s release, a
television advertisement will be broadcast from that day onwards in order to act
as the central marketing piece. The third platform that Some Boi Juice will be
promoted on comes in the form of sponsorship in a music video, which is
prominently presented at the beginning. The music video in question is
scheduled to be released in April, so coincides well with the release of the
product. It is common for other drink companies to be featured in modern media,
whether it be vocally or physically – so is proven to be an effective method of
advertising a media campaign.

 Does the product of Some Boi Juice appeal to you?
I find the product’s title to be interesting and engrossing, therefore making it something that I would
most probably purchase as a result. The design of the product as a whole and the concept of what it
would taste like is very satisfying to me.
 How much would you be willing to pay for a 500ml bottle of the product?
Somewhere around the £1 price point seems fair, considering that seems to be the average among
similar products, with Coke usually being slightly more.

Some boi juice

  • 1. Some Boi Juice Media Campaign UNIT 6: MEDIA CAMPAIGNS
  • 2. The Purpose of the Campaign  The purpose of the Some Boi Juice campaign is to promote my own custom designed juice product of the same name. A physical version of the product has been produced and I plan to create a TV advertisement that incorporates this element. The campaign will hopefully spread the word of Some Boi Juice to the target audience via not only television but also through the surprisingly effective platforms of Social Media.
  • 3. Target Audience  The target audience of Some Boi Juice are young adults who tend to use such terminology as that seen in the drink’s title. The product is not advised for younger audience members due to its high concentration of sugar and other substances. The drink will suit older adults as well as young, although the terminology used may not resonate with them as much. However, I concluded that there is sufficient interest from young adults towards the product that its advertisement campaign would be a success.
  • 4. Public Survey Results  In response to the question of “How many 500ml soft drinks do you buy a week”, 41.7% said 1-2. An interesting array of responses followed the question “What response does the name Some Boi Juice evoke in your mind” such as “Quite a positive, upbeat feeling” and “A lot of energy, and the colours grab my attention”. 91.7% of the responses said that the product has an appealing design, whilst 83.3% enjoys similar beverages. 100% agreed that they often see advertisements that are similar to the planned Some Boi Juice commercial, whilst 50% backed the idea of this media format. 100% claimed that they are prepared for the product’s release, showing that the product would be a success sales wise due to it’s popularity amongst the public.
  • 5. Evidence of Public Survey Results

The Level of Knowledge and Understanding of the Product among the Audience.  Due to the results of the survey, it can be seen that there is a very large understanding of the product amongst the audience. With the majority of participants avid to try the product themselves due to the familiar nature of the beverage and its similarities to other popular brands of juice.
  • 7. The Needs of the Target Audience  The Target Audience require an advertisement of good quality that perhaps includes some comedic value in order for it to stand out. The ad must be appropriate in accordance with the target audience’s tastes and not appear obnoxious or irritating as this could potentially turn them against the product being advertised. The advert for Some Boi Juice would showcase all of the good qualities of the drink in a possible comedic fashion in order to convey the unique taste of the product to the target audience in the most adequate fashion possible.
  • 8. The Existing Media Consumption Habits of the Target Audience  Currently, Social Media is a very effective method for advertising due to the platforms’ popularity with the modern audience. Television still remains popular making intercepting advertisements between shows and also the sponsoring of programmes a well-known and effective method. These forms of advertisements that are memorable to the audience for one reason or the other are particularly effective in getting the desired point across in the case of a successful marketing campaign.
  • 9. Schedule and Platforms  Some Boi Juice will be officially launched and distributed across stores on April 20th 2018. The product’s official Twitter account was created on March 5th, allowing almost two months for the product to be promoted across the platform in anticipation of it’s imminent release. To coincide with the product’s release, a television advertisement will be broadcast from that day onwards in order to act as the central marketing piece. The third platform that Some Boi Juice will be promoted on comes in the form of sponsorship in a music video, which is prominently presented at the beginning. The music video in question is scheduled to be released in April, so coincides well with the release of the product. It is common for other drink companies to be featured in modern media, whether it be vocally or physically – so is proven to be an effective method of advertising a media campaign.
  • 10. Interview with Peer  Does the product of Some Boi Juice appeal to you? I find the product’s title to be interesting and engrossing, therefore making it something that I would most probably purchase as a result. The design of the product as a whole and the concept of what it would taste like is very satisfying to me.  How much would you be willing to pay for a 500ml bottle of the product? Somewhere around the £1 price point seems fair, considering that seems to be the average among similar products, with Coke usually being slightly more.
