The document summarizes a study on the formulation and evaluation of gastroretentive floating tablets containing cefpodoxime proxetil (CP) solid dispersions. CP has poor aqueous solubility and bioavailability. Solid dispersions of CP were prepared using skimmed milk powder as a carrier to improve solubility. Floating tablets were developed using these solid dispersions to provide prolonged gastric retention. Tablets containing solid dispersion 4 showed the fastest drug release and highest buoyancy. The study demonstrated that these floating tablets with CP solid dispersions can enhance the drug's solubility and dissolution.
