3. Solar module lamination ensures the longevity of solar
cells of a module because they need to withstand
outdoor exposure in all climate zones, no matter if it's
Saudi desert or cloudy days in Vancouver, on top they
have to give great performance for +25 years. Over the
years the lamination process time has been shortened to
6:00 with new JT Laminator but the basics are the same.
Besides laminator, sandwich structure of EVA on either
side of the cells, a top sheet of glass and a backsheet
you need membrane, PTFE sheet and PTFE belt to
move the module components through lamination
process.

4. The lamination process is an underdog although is of
the most important manufacturing steps in solar module
manufacturing, however when done right it can prolong
product life and performance. The lamination itself
consist of three phases: pre-heat, heating and cooling to
ensure full vulcanization of EVA which hermetically seals
the PV module, however if done incorectly can result in
delamination or/and ingress of water. On top for this
process specific temperature and pressure combination
is also needed to ensure no bubble issue nor detach and
flow issue.
